61  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cooling middle cards in triple / quad card miners on: June 09, 2011, 07:55:22 PM
get a good 120mmX38mm think  fan they move a lot of air and have higher static air pressure take the fan and make a duct to  the card fan intake and that should lower you temps a good bit

this is a good fan to use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835705002 or if you don't care about noise http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835706022  WARRING this will be loudest thing in your house but you take the fan make your duct bring it to the face of you card an then fit the duct to the card so that  no air goes around the card or if you want to hafe ass it take fan ues duct tape and tape it to the card then use  tape to make a funnel so all the air goes in between the cards not over around them

don't oc you card any more 88c is already hot go dl guiminer and use  the flags -v -w128 should bring you up to about 170ish or so. i have 2 5770 that put out 200+Mhs a card i run them at 970core to get to the 200 you need a core of at least 960 and probably a v bump to but dont do this as you card is way to hot for more v
63  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PSU for 3x6950's Rig, please help on: June 09, 2011, 04:31:47 PM
yes a GOOD 1kw psu will be fine, if you tell me your budget i could pick you a good one
64  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: what's the ati mobility with most shaders on: June 09, 2011, 04:29:31 PM
don't min on any laptop there are not made for 24/7 full load, go buy or build your self a $300 pc and stick as many gpus as you can afford in it
65  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Windows GPU limit? on: June 09, 2011, 01:08:30 AM
we really need a clear answer of this question. Hopefully some one can get it tested real soon.

I did test it, the system wouldn't boot any OS with 3 cards (and thus 6 GPUs) installed. I only tested x86 OS's, however.
try a 64bit os and will it even post as in you can get to boises and stuff? you might be running out of bios address space try to disable every thing you don't need might just give you enough free space to boot
66  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 3 gpu psu? on: June 08, 2011, 11:26:29 PM
when you say 750w psu what model is it? if its a cheep one nfw will it run as the cheep ones have very low A on the 12v rail and even if its a good one your going to be running at close to max load killing your psu Efficiency causing it to pull more power then say a 1kw psu whit high Efficiency. aslo you have over $600 just in gpu and your going to cheep out on your psu i work on pcs all day and when a psu blows some times they take the whole rig spend $150+ and get a nice 1kw uint

Here are some stats

5770 - CC 900 Mem 300 Temp 70-72. GPu V Null - 185513
       CC 910 Mem 300 Temp 71-72. GPu V Null - 187762
       CC 925 Mem 300 Temp 72-72. GPu V Null - 192126
       CC 940 Mem 300 Temp 72-73. GPu V Null - 194485
       CC 950 Mem 300 Temp 73-74. GPu V Null - 196279

Ill hook up the others later
im past 220 right now, on the 5770 in win7 diablo. I expect 290 in debian.

how are you pulling 220 at 950core? on my 5770 at 1ghz core i only get about 220ish. btw for 51f room temp you cards are hot my 5770 at 1.3v 1ghz core runs at under 80 in and 75f room when it was in my cold room at 65 it ran at about low 70s have you turned your fan speeds to 100%?
68  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Please Rate this build on: June 08, 2011, 11:12:10 PM
MSI 790FX-GD70 - $120
AMD Sempron 140 - $35
2x1GB DDR3 - $FREE
4x HD 5830 - $450
Corsair AX850 850W - $170
$775
+5% tax = $813.75

Let's say $850, some items have to be shipped.

@ 245 Mhash/s per card, that is 980 Mhash/s

1.15 Mhash/W
1.15 Mhash/$

Also electricity is 7.15 c/kwh, so 24/7 30 days per month @ 850W = $43.76/mo

you doing your power calculation wrong a psu has to take AC and convert it to dc for you pc and your ps is about waste about 10% of the power it takes in so at full load that psu will pull about 1kw now 850.

other then that looks good but you can get more then 230Mhs out of the cards btw
69  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Windows GPU limit? on: June 08, 2011, 11:07:11 PM
are you using 64 bit OS? if not you might be ruining out of address space. and you can get 2 6950 for under $600 flash them and have the same mhs, the only time i see 6990 being good is if your out of pice slots
70  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Hardware Comparison on: June 08, 2011, 11:01:13 PM
how many Mhash it gets per Watt of power the higher the better. least say that card a gets 200 Ms and uses 100w that woudl be a 2ms to 1W now card B gets 300mhs but uses 200W so in the long run card A should make more money (after power)

are you talking about the 6950s? you can unlock the sp on some 6950s to that of a 6970

yes i haven't noticed any thing form it
71  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 2600 BTU AC. Muahahah 51* on: June 08, 2011, 10:52:57 PM
And droping. How much should I oc her now?
I have some 5030's, 5770's a 4550 that I want to run in the rig
I have a few 6950s but they are else where atm

you wont get much more by droop 20f  or 10c colder then you had it few mabay a few mhz per card. now what i have is a 8000but unit that i made my own coil and put in a bath of anti freeze and run my cpu at whit-10f water:) now if you did some thing like this you would gain about 100mhz per card i would think i tryed it but i couldn't get the condensation to go away 100% so i just stuck to the cpu
72  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: your thoughts on this mining/gaming rig - but mostly for mining to start on: June 08, 2011, 07:21:59 PM
you dont need a new box if yours has pcie slots in it just get a gpu and slap it in

ok as for the other stuff

1 mb you don't need a 200 mb to run just 2 cards you can find a $100 mb whit 2 slots or more  like a 880g for $70

2 that psu is ok not the best but not the worst

3 good choice i run 3 of them unlocked

4 ram is fine for mining wont be worth a dam for gaming

5 ok for mining junk for any thing more

6 waste of money it a slow ssd wont help whit any thing that much and its to litel gb to be of that much ues

if it was me i would lose the ssd and get a cheep hdd and spend that 75 on ram or a beter cpu but that's only if you want to game on it. if not il still lose teh ssd and call it
73  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Radeon 6790 on: June 08, 2011, 03:59:21 PM
looking it up it will probably be no faster then a 6770 as it has 800 shades  still you could get 5770 that will be about the same speed, but to me if you every plan to you use pc for gaming to go get a 6950 1gb for 220ish that will put out about 350-400 depending how much you oc it
74  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Optimizing ATI performance, 6950 in particular on: June 08, 2011, 03:48:43 PM
hi,

i have a 6950 which cannot be unlocked. i messed with msi afterburner and @ 900/760 runs ok.

when i try to volt up so to go to 950mhz , i actually get less mhashes. how is this possible? i tried 1133v and 950 the system didnt hang but i was mining less. does this make sense?
your going need more v for 950 try 1.75 the stock 6970vcore) and put power tune at+20% form inside your ccc and btw what are you temps in they are high the card will cut back
75  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin gonna burst? on: June 08, 2011, 04:35:34 AM
Bitcoin volume (US dollars, MTGox) for the past 12 hours = 1.3 million

For the past YEAR: 13.96 million

Almost 10% of the volume (of course in US dollars), has been in the past 12 hours.  The bubble is nearing its peak.

if people keep buying them then they wont be a bubble. And least say tomorrow some whit whit a hell of a lot of coins sells them all and coins droop to a few$ a coin you woudl have a hell of a lot of people buying them up and the price will go back. now if every one stops buying them then yes there will be a bubble and lest say that it stays at 1usd a coin but big stores start taking them driving prices back up. the only way there can be a bubble is some one can start making fake coins, the gov or some one whit a hell of a lot of power steps in, or people  just lose trust in the bitcoin. what will happen is that the price will stabilize someplace a lot of people sell out the price falls then ether stays that way or climbs back up as more buy them up hooping to get rich like the first batch of people did.
