Arcona is starting winter “under the Chinese flag”. The team is currently getting ready for a big business mission in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. These cities are known as significant economic zones and sometimes are called the Chinese Silicon Valley. The trip is being organized in cooperation with the Russian innovation center "SKOLKOVO" and representatives of the key IT companies in China. There was a careful selection of the participants of the meeting - through a detailed evaluation of applications – and Arcona is among the five technology companies chosen from dozens of other projects! In China, we plan to have a lot of meetings and negotiations at the headquarters of the leading companies in the country. Among them, there are the world leader in the production of quadrocopters DJI, Telecom giant ZTE, the largest investment Fund Shenzhen Capital, as well as the Tencent holding, which includes social networks (WeChat, for instance), music and payment services, mobile and online games. In addition, during the time in China, we shall continue the process of negotiation on cooperation with Huawei. The company is actively working on the implementation of augmented and virtual reality in its products. AI and AR functions are already presented on the flagship smartphone Mate 20 Pro, and within a couple of years, Huawei aims to release their own smart glasses for AR. And just before the start of this business mission, we received good news from the office of the commercial and industrial administration of China. The Digital Land of Arcona, the trademark of our company, has officially been registered throughout China.  |

At the beginning of this autumn, the GIS-developers of Arcona started working on the proprietary sophisticated algorithm, allowing to create in a much faster way (than before) a continuous coverage made up of hexagonal equal parts all over the entire land mass. This special phase of GIS development was named the Acceleration of the hexagons generator.
It should be reminded that Arcona creates a specific augmented reality layer outlining the surface of the planet. It solves the issue of universal positioning of interactive objects at designated coordinates from anywhere in the world.
The GIS specialists of the Arcona team are in charge of the correct division of this digitized territory into equal plots that should constitute the ready-to-use digital assets. Therefore, there is a need to carefully analyze incredibly huge volume of data about the lands and assess their potential value for the business. This means, one of the goals of our developers was to bring the production and selection of hexagons to the industrial level, and they have already achieved that!
“First we planned to create the algorithm for automated land digitization and its further division into equal parts based on Python and then translate it into a faster programming language C++. It turned out that for now, this Python-based version of the code works just fine as is”, tells Svetlana Lomp, the GIS developer of Arcona. “Well, of course not from the very first iteration. We had to tackle some challenges like code redundancy and overall performance as we had realized we could achieve what we wanted faster. So, we taught the system not to just look for existing matches but create a connected network in such a way that we could quickly find the neighboring area if needed. It was an interesting solution that we came across while working, and as developers and investigators, we love to find such surprising solutions, beautiful in its comparable simplicity. Maybe later for further extension of the capacities of the algorithm, we will need to implement a C++ version, but for now, it is fully able to deal with the tasks before it. We have also improved the system of cutting inappropriate parcels of the land. We’ve bet on multiprocessing in order to make our machines work faster and more efficiently. Implementation of all these solutions was a fascinating experience, but there are even more exciting challenges ahead!”

The Arcona developers team keeps on working on the proprietary AR Viewer’s advancement. In order to improve the usability of the application, our team is constantly testing and implementing new algorithms of 3D objects positioning on the screens of mobile devices. “Tracking the movement patterns of the user device is very important for precise and stable positioning”, says Alexander Emelyanov, Ph.D., R&D Team lead of Arcona. “This tracking is based on analysis of numerous images from a built-in photo-video camera. In robotics, matching of several dots with highly contrasting characteristics is sufficient for that, but when it comes to the AR systems it’s much more complicated to determine the trajectories. In the hands of the user, the motions of the device are not that smooth and can hardly be compared to those of cameras the robots are equipped with. We strive to match the images very different from each other, this process requires to be based on more than some separate dots”. The Arcona engineers have developed an alternative algorithm of matching the images based on the analysis of the relative position of the straight lines. Unlike dots lines have a broader set of features, enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of camera trajectories determination. Besides that, our algorithm ‘looks’ not only at the image brightness close to the line but also at its color. This increases the reliability of the images matching. The new algorithm has successfully passed testing, we’ve had really good results. The stability and accuracy of tracking the trajectory of the user camera are much higher than similar indicators of standard algorithms. In addition, we were able to obtain more reliable matches from fewer matched lines. This saves system resources and increases performance, which means that the application will be able to work well on less powerful mobile devices.    |

The token ARDL (Arcona Digital Land) has confidently entrenched in the TOP 15 of most actively transacted tokens of the ERC-721 standard on Etherscan, which is the main portal for viewing of ethereum currencies statistics.
👀 The ERC-721 standard is pretty new for the Ethereum network and is designated as Non – Fungible Tokens (NFT). Such tokens are completely unique as they are backed by some asset. Through the use of cryptography, they prove authenticity as well as confirm ownership. The Development Team of Arcona has already completed the prototyping phase and are a couple of steps away from releasing a stable version.
At this juncture, we have already got a detailed layout of the application and have a good understanding how the Viewer will function in real time, so that, we are getting ready for the official launch of the Arcona proprietary viewer.
✅ We have got the whole thing worked out – user experience, assembling of separate parts, relevance, and appropriateness of functionality and the set of features - before proceeding.
We have been working hard on the user interface prototyping enable a customer to perform early tests of intermediate version of the software in the real environment.
🗯 “We are focusing on the creation of a simple, convenient and intuitive interface for our user comfort”, says the project manager Anton Chernousov. “We strive for all the features of the application to function correctly together, while the architecture and UX meet the user expectations. Also, we aim at foreseeing the room for improvement with a minimum of effort”, he adds.

A large-scale event under the name Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Malta has concluded In St. Julian's.
This year, it gathered the representatives of a huge number of the top blockchain projects and crypto funds and venture investors.
The Arcona co-founder Daniel Girdea represented the project and managed to participate in two-panel discussions as an expert.
He spoke about the prospects the blockchain technology opens up today for the development of the augmented reality technology and the Internet of things growth.
“It was really interesting and useful to take part in these events”, he says. “This time we mostly discussed the use of blockchain in non-financial sectors of the economy, such as tourism, real estate, entertainment, and education.
These fields are those at which we actually aim creating our ecosystem, as the Arcona Digital Land is the space where the companies from different sectors can develop their projects. I had an opportunity to discuss the prospects of technological and ideological integration with the representatives of several blockchain-based companies.
One of them, by the way, organizes gourmet tours around the world. In my opinion, this is the most exciting and enjoyable type of tourism. I hope we will find a way to cooperate and launch some joint projects for our users”.
