I especially like the way the clock resets to midnight on July 21st 2010 everytime you reboot.
What kind of epoch is that and why is it starting from epoch every time?!??!?!?!?

I didn't find direct fan settings
either temp configs are related to fan control - then you can try to adjust it through ssh/web
or it is internal miner software logic - no options than unless you try to use own compiled miner

After analyzing 40 and 42 softwares, the only difference is in the aforementioned homebrew version of cgminer and it appears most of their time was spent messing with fan control, it appears to me they are being very, very careful with how they modulate the fans, they want a very specific relationship  between the input and exhaust fan, each board has three temp sensors, so 9 total, and they keep adjust fan speed based on readings. Given that it appears they spent time on this, they must have a reason to expend such expense. They also lowered pll thres from 800 in 40 software to 780 in 42.

smartass is correct that there is no direct fan control, it's baked into the cgminer logic that is compiled, but they have a number of temp control conf files that can be used to indirectly manipulate fan speed based on the thresholds in those conf files, but I'm not sure I'd want to. What would be ones purpose in taking over control of the fan speed directly?

Hello im wondering if anyone could help me out. I've bought an ebit e9 plus before and had no problems, set it up relatively easy within 10mins was all working fine hashing at 9th etc.

I placed another order of 10, some units are working fine but i have several that when fully connected same as the working units i can't find an i.p at all. Nothing appears through my router and i've tried using an i.p scanner to find it as well but to no avail.

Kind of lost on what to do now and any help would be great!

Install wireshark on a laptop, connect laptop network port to miner network port, call up wireshark and the arp messages will tell you what ip. Change your laptop network to a different address on that found subnet, connect to miner webui, change ip to what you want.

Hi to everybody, I've received 3 unit 2 days ago after more than 3 weeks ...... .
They start immediatly to work and after 12 hours first begin to have web interface problem, yestarday also the second, third it's ok.

https://ibb.co/miwfub

They mine correctly (I can see on slush that they are working) but I cannot do and/or check nothing from web interface, any help frome someone of you ?
Thank you

I saw the same thing, I found leaving the webui up and logged in will produce this problem, probably a problem with they way they are caching the web server on it, but, if you  just don't leave the the web ui up 24/7, it seems to always work fine if you log into it every time and then log back out. Not a problem for me because mostly I monitor the pool page for my stats and only log to the miners occasionally.
There is no ssh access unless you flash your own load on it (tekcomm can show you how for donation), and the webui restart seems to do absolutely nothing.

Thank you, I'll try your solution.
Anyone tested the tekcomm new code to to sped up the ebit ?

I havn't tried his, but experimenting with other miners, it may be a bad idea to crank them up.
Those chips are probably most efficient at the 750PLL, you start using exponential more power as your crank it up to get near 13th/s and you get alot more hw errors on top of it, and more heat, and noise (from fans trying to dissipate the heat). They also become unstable and can render a board or the whole miner a brick at worst or have  to be constantly rebooted/reset at best.
While they don't publish the chip power to hash rate chart for these particular chips, they all act more or less the same, there is a sweet spot of most efficient, a balance between hash rate, power use and heat, too low  and you use the same power or more  with less hash rate, too high and you use 2/3's more power to get 1/5 more hash rate.
If you know anything about chip manufacturing, of your end result mass produced chips , some will be much better/stable at higher freq than others from the same batch. Sometimes they pick the cream of the crop and make those run higher and market them as something different/better, in the case of asics it would be difficult and complicated for the HW and the SW to manage the 120 or so chips in these miners to all run at different freq/vcore, so they come up with a baseline where they should all work good at. Your start cranking up the freq/vcor (PLL) and some of the chips are likely not to take it. One on a board goes out, the whole board goes, not just that one. It is possible these are entirely stable at 13th/s, but at the very least you will use alot more power, it's not a linear relationship once you start cranking up the input juice

For example, this chart is for an older bitmain chip:
Freq   GH   Vcore    Power   J/GH
100   11.00     1.26     3.67          0.33
125   13.75     1.26           4.48         0.33
150   16.50     1.26           5.27         0.32
175   19.25     1.26           6.12         0.32
200   22.00      1.32   7.43         0.34
225   24.75      1.36   8.73         0.35
250   27.50      1.40   10.11      0.37
275   30.25      1.46   12.25         0.40
300   33.00      1.50   13.98         0.42

The best use for tekcomm's method is to secure your miner from stupid stuff like admin/admin id/passwd, and to get the ssh so you can mass admin them, and to be able to remotely reboot them.

Finally Ivy found the money. After exactly two weeks of receiving it.
If your skype is different from your email from your bank account....she won't find it.

That excuse is a crock as there is no email required or associated with a bank transfer , and in my case,  my skype email is a made up MS account used for nothing else that I do in life and to top it off, my bank that I wire out from doesn't even have an email associated with it, no online access, nothing, it's a bank, nothing more.
I'm glad they "found" it and your getting what you paid for, but this excuse of emails not matching they gave you is nothing but BS.
67  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: November 28, 2017, 03:10:30 PM
already done + shared the reference.

Ivy still can't find the money.
Very weird also that they don't share their IBAN number.

I wired on 7Nov and Lynn confirmed within 2 days that they had it.  Indeed this is the most precarious part of the process with EBANG.
That's bad they can't see yours. Once the receiving bank has accepted, there is no way for you to claw it back, your at their mercy which sucks. It is possible they are stalling because they ran out of machines, the website says they are now sold out, it seems like something they may do. I'm not sure what I'd do if I were you, that sucks. My next move might be to call/communicate somehow with the receiving bank itself, no idea how that might be accomplished. But, my gut says, they're stalling, those wire transfers are iron clad, if anything is out of order, it just doesn't go thru, it doesn't go to some magic account in the sky. it either makes it, or, it doesn't. So, they have it.

I just wanted to add that my latest eBit came with DHCP enabled.   It popped up on 192.168.1.x network and leased an address from the router.   Wireshark not needed.

Mine came also with DHCP enabled, however, it did not lease anything, that setting, for me, and apparently, others, doesn't seem to actually function. My two were hard wired to 192.168.180.57 and 192.168.140.91. Very random stuff.

e9+ fw V6.2.20.42 working 12 miniutes and: "Shutdown: Your license has expired, please contact the manufacturer!!!"  wtf?Huh

Mine came with the 42 software and they've been up since I got them, two days ago, no issues.
V6.2.20.42 or V6.0.20.42 ?

soft_v6.0.20.42 is what it says. Sorry, I didn't see your 2 in there in the 2nd octet. Where'd you get that firmware?

Well, my two arrived today. IP's were all over the board, but wireshark quickly ferrets that crap out, it helps to have a laptop so you can just connect directly to them without changing anything on your network proper.
Mine did not come with power cables, I didn't have 240v supply cables, so I had to find some 14awg ones and cut the end off and buy the plugs to mate to a 240v plug. I suppose if you have a server rack you wouldn't need to do that.
Got them up and mining and they seem to be working great thus far, both of them are doing 9.2th/s or so.
I left my meter at a buddies house I was helping wire his barn, so I don't know what amps/watts they are pulling down.

Yeah, the sales process is a mess. That really needs to get cleaned up, the skype stuff needs to go as an ordering and feedback about your order. But, it does work, if you have the stomach for it.
72  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: November 11, 2017, 03:57:13 AM
I contacted Lynn via Skype during China business hours, she responded within a couple mins. I sent payment, she confirmed reciept of payment two days later in the same skype thread (after I asked her)  and she'll get me tracking asap (I"m sure again, after I ask her for it). Her shype thing pretty much says she's online all the time, she's not. It's China business hours.
SO far the sales process is as others have reported. Convoluted, to say the least. No reason it should be like that. They'd sell far far more if they had a clear and predictable sales process. That said, I think they core business is used to selling to large/commercial customers and this is a new space for them with new, smaller/individual customers as well as mabey large ones (who really knows), but really, how hard is it to setup a real retail/cart/status page?
73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: November 06, 2017, 06:31:23 PM
Well, I will find out first hand. I just wired enough $$ for 2 miners w/PSU and shipping to US. Transaction by Skype is not  my favorite, but it seems to work for them.

The bank lady rolled her eyes when  I wrote "wire to : EBang in China" Shocked Roll Eyes
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will there be further forks to bitcoin? on: October 26, 2017, 02:23:01 PM
The problem with the forks is it is turning bitcoin into a laughing stock to people outside of the bitcoin community. All they see is a headline one day from the media, who is mostly clueless on the going's on in bitcoin, "bitcoin hardforks" ... they begin to see this every few months and nobody is going to adopt it as a payment system with so much volatility and no average user is ever going to use bitcoin.

Basically, they are turning bitcoin into an investment strategy as opposed to a currency or payment system. If that is what the community wants, that's fine, but it's rather unsustainable in that usage pattern.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outlawed: Get Away from Bitcoin or Be Imprisoned! on: August 07, 2017, 01:01:36 PM
I think they'd be much more interested in taxing it and taking your wealth rather than outlawing it. Most gov'ts are just interested in spending your $$$$ one way or another. They'd be perfectly happy spending your BTC as well.
Of course BTC does threaten the manipulation (by them) of the money supply and if suddenly they perceive it as a threat (threat being powerless to control the money) .. .then..they may do something. At which point you can vote them from office if you live in place where it's gov't by the people, which is becoming less and less these days. In the US people love to say "We live in a democracy" no..!!!!! We live in a republic, there's a difference!

2pacs already saturating office spaces? Wow.
What could happen with the next gen (no apparent need to rush it)?

A company I was doing business with wanted me to go into this new space they bought and assess the power situation for a small server room we wanted to put in there  (nothing to do with bitcoin). It looks like the previous tenant of the space had at least some mining stuff in there because there were two busted bitmain power supply's, and these 2pacs just laying there on a table. I dunno why.  There was also this awesome old Fellows small office shredder. That thing is sweet, no cheap office depot crap there, that shredder will take 20 pages and credit cards and staples and CD's without hesitation.
COmpany didn't want them, they just want to get the space up and going for their business needs, so they're mine now!
77  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: August 06, 2017, 04:57:28 AM
These sticks are awesome, I don't care what anyone says.

When you can make a chart that says freq 250, v 1.4 = 27.5gh/s and have the hardware supporting that work spot on.... that's nothing short of..... good math and a dedication to making it work right.
I came across 2 of these things from an abandon office we had came into, I recognized them straight away.

Had them running for two days now... superppag hub 1.4v exactly and mounted behind another server of mines exhaust fan asic backs at 60c ... and 2 days running rate:
 0: GSD 10012270: COMPAC-2 250.00MHz HW:0 | 37.49G / 27.52Gh/s WU:384.4/m
 1: GSD 10012287: COMPAC-2 250.00MHz HW:0 | 28.17G / 27.49Gh/s WU:384.0/m

I don't think you can get closer to the charts predicated 27.5 rate. I almost want to turn the voltage down, no HW errros.  Cheesy

Good work sidehack. Spot on hardware is no small achievement.
78  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How Bitmain Scammed Me For 10000$ on: August 05, 2017, 03:18:33 PM
When they first came to market people seemed to love doing business with them. I guess compared to BFL, they were a breath of fresh air. They actually shipped stuff!
But the community mave have created a monster. With their statements and actions about their controlling so much has power and with the forking crap, they seem to be getting more and more arrogant, coupled with the business practices being reported especially as of late.... the handwriting is on the wall. They have only one place to go......
Time for another player .....
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHY BCC PRICE KEEPS INCREASING on: August 02, 2017, 01:14:43 PM
If you don't want to be late, get on board now! How much BTC did you buy in 2010???

The way I see it is the players that wanted this fork have enough resources to inflate it temporarily. If they had enough resources to spin up 4000 nodes on AWS (by a single actor, mind you, that's super "decentralized") they have enough to buy everyone's BCC for a while to see if they can generate exactly what your experiencing...the "i'm gonna miss the boat"  syndrome.  The same way a large wall street bank might buy a ton of shares of something they want to pump up or that is perhaps failing in their heads.....to get other people to go...hey...look at that thing, it's going through the roof, we better buy too. However, that can only last so long before they make a choice as to harden their position or cut their losses and return.

Only time will tell if the price will stabilize, drop, rise. It's not predictable. If enough people think their alt coin is viable...then time will show that and the price will rise. If you think it's going to keep going up...by all means then you should buy some.
The players involved aren't stupid, and they seem to have at least some sort of longish...well at least not short term....plan, as any smart entity would when wanting to create a fork, a sustainable fork. Anyone can create a fork, I can make a new fork and mine my own blocks. The question is ... will anyone follow.

Trading on exchanges isn't a real good indicator, they can move their own coins around making look like tons of trades, which also inflates the price. Time is the only true indicator. I know,..... probably not the answer you were looking for.......
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Forking, But Bitcoin Cash Hasn't Been Created Yet on: August 01, 2017, 05:54:13 PM
I've been watching the hash rate graph (or just type getnetworkhashps in your node console) with the thinking that if a noticeable drop in hashrate is seen, it would mean someone took their miners off BTC and put them (probably) on BCC..... only  then do you have a viable altcoin known as BCC.
Whoever spun up 4000 nodes of ABC node has some money if they're yusing AWS, if that entity, probably bitmain, really wants to make a go of BCC, they'll turn everything they have in their silly antpool to BCC and hashrate on BTC chain will drop significantly.

You can only tell after some time has passed and a few blocks mined in BCC, so far, nothing but difficulty is same at BTC which is very high. But someone has said difficulty will lower at 6 hrs intervals in BCC??? No idea if that's true...

Meanwhile price of BTC is stable, and BCC futures are dropping like a rock......
