62  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Routers and Antminer S1s on: June 13, 2014, 01:14:49 AM
Is anyone running a router that is NOT set to 192.168.1.1?

I have a Trendnet router that is factory set to 192.168.10.1, and I can't get it to see my 4 ants.
I can and have reset the routers IP to 192.168.1.1, and the ants will fir up, but when I log into the router, the ants do not show up. Not on the main page which lists evey IP running, nor in the router table.

I'm very new to router maniplication, so have very little idea as to what is going on with it.

Or you can try it the easy way.

Don't touch your router at all. Go and edit your network card and set it to:

192.168.1.10
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

192.168.1.1

Save

Pull up the new ant on 192.168.1.99 in a browser.

Set the ant to DHCP and save it.

Reset your network card to auto.

If you need to find the new IP address of the ant the easy way download this software its safe and free to use.

http://Advanced-Ip-Scanner.com

Most of us use it to setup the ants. Plus you can save the ant to favorites.

Hope this helps.

could just buy a $19.99 Killawatt and save $100 off this "FREE" electricity monitoring Eyedro

Yes you are correct. You can monitor "not live" one outlet with a Kill-a-watt meter. We all use them.

This is for the whole house. Apples and Oranges.

Before it's free you just need to buy these from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EP774LM/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Install them in your fuse box. Then go here and setup your free account:

http://myfreemonitor.com/

I have been using this to monitor my costs and tweak a few settings on my mining units and it helps at least to know exactly what I am paying for electricity by the hour for my whole house including my miners in my garage.

Pretty cool stuff.

Hope this helps.

it seams you are the type of person who believes all that commercials on TV, i was wondering was anyone really buying those junks.
now just add that ure american , and we have a perfect murican stereotype Smiley

What? It works as its advertised. Lets you see the whole house electric cost in a nice web based format. Not sure what else to say. I guess you just assume people are always here to try and scam you. Good luck with that. LOL
68  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S1 solo mining, how? on: June 11, 2014, 02:08:26 AM
Just mine in a pool and earn the money and keep it. If you really want to play the lotto, just use 20% of your BTC and go buy some lotto tickets. On the long run this will make you money and give you a chance at that big winning day.
69  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: FREE Electricity Monitoring on: June 11, 2014, 01:33:54 AM
That's a pricey monitor, you're best off to buy urself a kill-a-watt monitor and do the math from there
This, mining rigs don't really fluctuate with power draw so it's usually a pretty constant number when you're using a watt meter, plus it doesn't cost $200.
It is still exaggeration when you tell people that something is free and in reality is not.

^^^ exactly what he said. Don't false advertise, just tell everyone the price from the very beginning so they know not to bother..

False advertise? Wouldn't that assume I was to gain from the information? I was just putting it out there for others.

New subject title: "Free Electricity Monitoring after you go and pay Amazon for the parts, add them you your fuse box and sign up. Ok that's when it's free. So don't look here if you just like only free. Because you know, BTC is always free."

Yes! I believe that works for you! LOL
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.414 BTC for 180GH/s on: June 10, 2014, 01:31:30 PM

arggggggg Sad S2 its so expensive if difficulty is going to change that fast in next weeks... or is it worth it buying S2 right now?

Just try some of the resellers. PM with a request and I will give you the contact name of my reseller here in Colorado. He is cheaper than ebay.

Hope this helps

71  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: FREE Electricity Monitoring on: June 10, 2014, 01:24:04 PM
Not really free when you pay 199.99 for the monitor......

*face palm*

My thoughts exactly. I hope this poor fella hasn't invested in too many of these units for resale

One, I'm not a poor fella. Grin

But I get it where this forum is always looking for the next big spammer. That's not me. The link is to Amazon and I am not a reseller of any kind, just putting it out there for others to see a whole house electric monitoring system. I also use kill-a-watt meters on my miner rack so that works great, this is just a nice way of really looking at cost of everything running in my home.

So, if you think, $200 is a lot of money, I guess it is for you. For others like me it's just another tool to control cost and gain maximum profits.

I like the updates in 1.7, runs much faster. But the right sidebar is now gone in a short window with a long list of miners.

Can you please bring that back?

Thanks for the good work.

Oops!  Not sure how that happened.  It's supposed to be locked in size to the form.

Here's 1.8..

hi all, thanks for all the great tips and advice i've received so far... just a couple more questions how many amps would these ants normally use and what sort of surge protector should i be looking at to purchase keeping in mind i have 8x 650w 80 plus gold standard corsair psu's - one for each ant...

i live in canada so anything local - best buy / future shop / new egg / tigerdirect recommendations are appreciated...

I over clock mine to 387 and it holds to about 3.67 amps. One 15 amp surge protector on a 15 or 20 amp circuit will hold 3 ant miners just fine. Not sure where you are going to get an S1 as they are sold out on Bitmain. Contact Ben with the MinerStore.com here in Colorado and he can get you 8 S1's for sure.

I just purchased 3 more yesterday from him and he brought them to my house. Grin

Hope this helps.

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New to mining. need help asap on: June 05, 2014, 02:33:43 AM

Hi rob thank you for your reply!!

As for the mining rig would them miners work on RPi?

As for mining once connected to the mining pool does it set which coin to mine it self or would I need to program it to mine a certain coin?

Are there any online video tutorials on connecting the RPi to the pool as I believe their is a software I need to put on the SD card and find the IP address to put onto the pool.

As for hardware besides the miners you said and the "brain" RPi is there anything else I would need?

How much could you earn on a basic BTC rig? Without taking the cost of electricity to hand.

Once the BTC reward is earned it's best to keep it as the rising BTC coin value is giving a better return than most trading between coins

No RPi needed, just a computer to connect to the units. Please look under hardware, you will find lots of help for everything Bitmain, S1 and S2.

Just mine BTC. You just need to enter pool info. Easy.

You need a power supply for the S1. The S2 works out of the box. Find help for that here on the forum.

Just put in 180 gh for the S1 and 1 th for the S2 in the calculator link I gave you and you will find the answer.

I move my coins to USD every 7 days to pay off debt. My goal is to be debt free. Soon I will start to keep about 20%, but not now. Use the Coinbase account for this.

Hope this helps.

First off, Welcome to the Martix, you have taken the red pill. Your eyes are now open. LOL

Here is your to do list.

1) Forget about alt coin its how newbies lose BTC.

2) Read as much as you can everyday here on the forum for about 30-60 minutes a day, and post your comments. Do this for at least 30 days, while you work on doing mining.

3) Open up a separate back account.

4) Open up a Coinbase account and tie your new account to Coinbase. Buy and sell BTC here also a wallet.

5) Open up a Blockchain account. Also a wallet. Add the app to your phone.

6) Best place to buy a miner is from Bitmaintech.com.

3 S1 units per 15 amp outlet will work fine, 1 S2 unit per 15 amp outlet will work fine.

7) Join a pool so you can receive BTC everyday: Here is an example of the Eligius pool: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1FxgoGs1VX1fSN6t9JNnqcLL5vu8PgpiyM

Here is a nice simple Bitcoin Mining Calculator: http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator

Here is a nice simple Simple Bitcoin Converter: http://preev.com/

Help others get into Bitcoin.

Enjoy.
