Yep. When you can print infinite amounts of money then you can keep doing this till people have no faith in your "money". That seems to take awhile, however I wonder if it will collide with the political reality unfolding these days. Will be interesting to watch.
Will collide with oil becoming a less crucial part of running ones economy. Countries don't keep reserve currencies to ensure there economy has an ample supply of MS Office licenses.

Have been baking my own bread for years (thanks Panasonic) and it also makes pizza dough. Since a few years I'm ordering breard flour in 25kg bags. (I put 1/2 in smaller bags in the freezer). I keep graded cheese in the freezer too. Together with canned/frozen vegetables I did shopping every 3rd week and can now stretch that to two months without much effort. Supermarket is fine here but I try to minimize the number of visits anyway.

... confirmed cases outside china still doubling every 4-5 days. Deaths also doubling every 4-5 days, now at ~25,000.

back-of-envelope ... testing is probably 1 generation behind actual infections and only 20% feel unwell enough to get tested so right now estimated infections is around 5 million. Depending on various health systems ability to cope that means deaths expected globally between 50,000-250,000 in the pipeline ... if all infections stopped today.
In the Netherlands 80% of hospitalized cases is overweight, while "only" 50% of the population is overweight (by Dutch metrics). It's just one data point but it could mean the US healthcare system will be hit harder than what we have seen in Asia. The US does have the advantage of having more time to prepare and start earlier with testing, but that was true for Asian countries outside China as well.

Edit: for reference:

remember
the thing mutates
and there is suggestion that the second round kills you deader than shit
I read that corona viruses are stable and not prone to mutate, unlike the flu.
I don't believe "the second will kill you" rumors, haven't read that in any reputable paper.
It's a single-strand RNA virus. It may be relatively stable, and the mutations may be unlikely to have much effect, but it still mutates quite a lot.

Where did you find this image?
Can I have the link.
Google reverse-image-search: it's from http://sa-news.com

edit: reading that site clears up my uncertainty about how Africa will handle corona. They won't. At all.

Reducing reserve requirement to zero? Does it mean that bank can give unlimited loans when they have NO deposits?
That's a nice business to be in. Maybe I should re-fi my car loan or mortgage? They should give me 0%, right? /s
Yes, if you are customer of the fed, i guess. If not, it's up to the banks.
The EU central bank even had negative rates (2019 iirc), but the banks didn't pass that advantage to their end-customers.
So the banks made money by taking loans from the ECB, but the customers of the banks didn't get money for their loans.
Neither did they take money from depositors, maybe there were exceptions, but not that i'd know.
I received a letter from my Dutch bank a few weeks ago that they changed the TOS so they now have the option to charge a negative interest on all accounts. (was +0.01%) As far as I know, they already are doing this on commercial accounts. Denmark has been doing this for a long time and even has had consumer mortgages with negative interest rates.

Americans have very short attention spans so I suspect that this Corona thing will end in a couple of weeks.
The longer it lasts the more they will be willing to sacrifice whatever they can to make it just finish already.
The media hype will get desperate for attention but likely they will find some new shiny story to focus on.
It will be a problem for most, if not all of, 2020.
American media will go 100% election-mode before the end of 2020.

Can’t imagine myself being the complete moron of selling my coin as cheap as they are now....
The selling is not done by people who need the fiat now. This is different. I don 't know what it is though.
My guess: at least 90% of whats now selling is doing so with the intention of buying back the same or more coins later.

It looks like exchanges are still functioning well.

I dont think Bargain Boyz were expecting this, but I can tell by the volume they scooped up a ton of coins in the Bargain Buy Zone. Grin
About 30k volume on stamp during the up/downs, yet only 1k coins on the book before we reach $8k, so not that much to scoop up.
NOW there is something to scoop up. 1K coins below $6300.

Fuck I need a beer after all this shit.
I have nothing stronger than 2% in the house and have to work tomorrow but I'm making an exception.

For everything else, there's NFS. Don't leave the network without it.
LoL NFS has almost zero security. if the IP address of a client matches, they get full access.
(but maybe it does not have remote code execution and it could be routed over an encrypted tunnel or VPN to add decent security.)

Al we need now is clueless newspapers writing that bitcoin is going to be halved in two months.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2020, 07:21:40 PM
What if they paid this $4500usd out in BTC would you consider it? Huh
If they round it up to $450,000 it still won't cover fixing the permanent damage to internal organs and immune system. I'm not talking about whatever drug they want to test, just the drugs your own body generates when it switches to survival-mode.

Oil up 3%. TSLA up 4% after-hours, bitcoin: not moving one satoshi. This is going to be an interesting day.

Patience is a virtue.
Out of my two remaining options, this is by far the most attractive one.

If the above figures are correct of 1.9 million US ICU admissions (they do sound like a worse case scenario), that’s not something you can casually blow off.
According to google, the US had a total of 94,837 ICU beds in 2015, 20 times too few.

You could have a point there... One that makes me think what will happen when jails start getting infected. It will happen.
from this week: "Iran has temporarily released more than 54,000 prisoners in an effort to combat the spread of the new coronavirus disease in crowded jails."

Anyone selling 100's of corn now is not planning to invest that in the stock market on Monday. They plan to buy back in BTC before the price shoots back up.
