Since you only have 19 posts, I read every one of them and have come to the conclusion that you are just as delusional as the "bitcoin fanatics" that you deride. You are simply one of hundreds if not thousands of people who throughout history have used a calendar date to push a message or vendetta. I think you will find that China's influence on bitcoin is highly over-rated and will leave many China "fanboys" dissapointed on their Day of Doom. If anything does happen, it'll probably be similar to the Silkroad shakedown: brief spill, then move to all time highs.
Go back to the Trollbox where you belong.

Prosper was an enormous failure (for the "investor"). Ripple will follow with those two idiots at the helm.
To this very day, I am using Prosper and making about 12%. It's hardly a failure. You either gave up too early or are repeating inaccurate information.

This is unsettling.. because I just opened an account a few weeks ago and completed my first transaction with them. As a test and it took about 5 days from when initiated, but it went through. Now I have a positive balance with them, should I remove my bank account info with them? Is my checking account safe at all?
Your fine, ignore the hysteria. There are issues, and they take a long time to get resolved, but by and large the crap you hear in this forum about Coinbase is just people panicking and shooting from the hip. We have been conditioned to think the moment something goes wrong, it's a scam! While there have been scammers associated with bitcoin, Coinbase is not one of them. A better thread to look at would be the reddit coinbase thread where a couple employees, (bitcoin batman, cbsupport, cbsupport2) can help you out if you have a problem.

Coinbase.com is NOT an exchange, it is NOT a service... it is a company made for the SOLE purpose of trading and hedging customer funds and defrauding the customers and getting away with it. Super hysteric, baseless accusation, as is the norm here. Incompetence or not enough employees to handle the accounts does not equate to the above quote. Not disputing that you have a problem with them, but Jesus, take off the tinfoil hat.

.... Thanks do you know how long it takes for them to reply? I sent them like 10 emails from last night and today. Also will they refund my $ like they say?
they are seriously understaffed, it may take a few days to a couple weeks to get a reply. I've found the coinbase reddit thread is quite helpful. They have couple of employees that post stuff there, helping people out. thanks, link please to reddit? http://www.reddit.com/r/coinbase

Now that China is banning bitcoin, don't expect the crash to stop. The best thing to do right now is to get out when you still can. This time around there will be no dead cat bounce, bitcoin crashed right in the centre of media attention and any faith gullible idiots still have in it will be destroyed.
It's over. Bitcoin is finished. Good riddance to this little Ponzi scheme.
Raw Dog? Is that you?

Personally, I have had no trouble with them except with their customer support. It's good but REALLY slow. Not worthy of a class-action lawsuit, though, the company is just receiving more traffic than it can handle.
Agreed. Vocal minority is at play here, no need for a fucking class action lawsuit! I'll really be pissed if OP fucks up my one really reliable way to acquire BTC. I'm sorry that your experience has been less than satisfactory, but have you heard that they now have about 600,000 accounts up from 30,000 a year ago? That means that they are POPULAR and effective, but are struggling to keep up with demand. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean they're fraudulent!

Anyone using this site? If so, your thoughts on it.
Really would like to know if USD can be stored in your account for instant use.
Like most of the BTC exchange sites, customer service is lacking if you have a problem. At CampBX, you can send USD via ACH transfer where after 2 or 3 business days the money should appear in your account. Once it's there, your purchases are instant.

Hahaha, I am sorry, I don't usually hate on threads, but this has to be one of the pointless threads I've ever seen. What was going through your mind OP when you started it. Were you just bored? Was it divine inspiration? Did a banker convince you that bicoins are, in the literal sense, the devil?
I'm pretty sure Gabriella is a paid shill. Just look at his/her past posts.

It wasn't long ago that good news of any kind, made Bitcoin skyrocket. Now there are article after article touting Bitcoin as a revolutionary new game changer. Legitimizing it. 7 million dollar houses for sale with it. Lambos & Teslas. Space flights. Mentioned on Jeopardy. 25 million investments (Coinbase). Paypal owner praising it. Wall street will pour hundreds of millions "in the next 3 to 6 months" (SecondMarket).
All of this news in just the last week or two. Yet the price just sits there... just under $1000.
Maybe we've reached the maximum price for typical human beings to warrant purchasing a commodity. I have asked this over and over again: What is going to warrant / Who is going to dish out the money for / the price of Bitcoin going to $2,000 ... $5,000 ... $50,000 ? HOW is this going to happen? WHAT is the process? I can't think of one. mBTC is mentioned, but even if everything switched to mBTC would that facilitate the price hitting $5,000? If so ... im asking how. The math behind it. The logic/philosophy. It seems that something outside of buying and selling on the exchanges would have to push bitcoins value up. What is that thing? I honestly don't know. Do you?
I honestly wonder if Bitcoin will sit at $1,000... even as it saturates the world market. Disagree? Then tell me how it will it go higher? By what method?

Disclaimer: This is not another "We gotta switch to mBTC" thread. Unless it truly is the answer to my question.
You have to be aware that a lot of times, price movement is independent of news, no matter how positive or negative that news may seem. We have just completed a run from $150 to $1200. This is a huge move that needs to be "digested"... a term that anyone who has dabbled in the stock market may find familiar. It's just loading up ammo for the next blast.

It says, "Thou shalt not coin bits." That is a stretch... just as I would suspect from those that take religion seriously.

is it against the ten commandments to own bitcoin?
Are you fucking serious?

They've always done ACH withdrawals; I've done it many times successfully. The Nov 27 date was for DEPOSITS via ACH, which will be frickin' awesome for those in the States.

What is wrong lately with Coinbase? When I first started buiying btc in june it was easy and relatively reliable. Now it is a sham. What gives?
It's not a sham. You're seeing 10-15 people posting about their bad experiences, but they have HUNDREDS of customers EVERY DAY! I've had only good experiences with Coinbase, and I've had 50+ purchases. +1 The vocal minority always makes it look like the sky is falling, especially on this site. Hysteria is the norm, EVERYBODY, CALM THE FUCK DOWN! Coinbase is fine.

I placed an order on Friday for 4 bitcoins at $426 and grew worried that I would not receive them this morning (their due date) after reading all the stories of "high-risk" transactions that might have been a result to the dramatic rise in bitcoin prices.
I was very pleased, however, to find my exact order fulfilled as promised this morning. While its easy to say that they do these "high risk" cancellations when prices rise, I don't think there is enough publicity about successful transactions. All we hear about are the ones that are canceled so it makes it appear as though they ONLY "high risk cancel" when prices rise, whereas it could actually only be a small number of instances.
Just my two cents. I can completely imagine how pissed off I would be if I had not received the coins this morning, but it would probably be wrong to say that they do this to everyone.
Yep, vocal minority always makes it look like the sky is falling.

I have had zero problems with coinbase, except one time they got out synch with the blockchain and an email to support was answered and problem solved in under 24 hours. Once I verified a credit card to get the 'instant' feature turned on, things have been absolutely seamless.

The last huge price rise came along with the FinCEN regulations.
Do not underestimate the desire of Americans to have every part of their life regulated and ruled by their masters in DC.
Speak for yourself. I'm in the U.S. and I hate all these idiot old men in suits who like to play god.
