61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 7 More Markets being removed from Bittrex on Monday May 26th on: May 26, 2014, 12:43:57 AM
Is it possible to allow transfer out even on suspended trading coins? Because maybe the blockchain is down for a long time, more than 14 days, but the coin could come back to life sometime? Otherwise, the value stored in Bittrex wallet becomes destroyed?

We're going to allow people to transfer out for 14 days after we remove the market then shut down the wallet.  At that point, we're going to 0 out everyone's balances and no longer support the wallet.  If we add the market again, we'll start fresh with a new wallet and 0 balances for everyone.

Reason NASDAQ became one of the world biggest exchange in few short years, not because it listed only Techn firms, but rather never delist any firm due to low trade vol or low value. Dow used to keep delist those stocks lack of trade vol as well as drop value, eventually the practice almost caught a fire on it own ass force to evolve. in Dow 35, dow 100 ..etc. Same as NYSE been force to evolve. Question is will Bittrex see the picture to evolve before others ahead of game become NASDAQ of Cryptocoins?

Beside,  Crypto derivatives could help attract more hedgers into market led of multifold trade vol. increases. I believe it also a new way to  lure innovators into the cryptocoins technology help fix current security flaw that only benefit hackers and thieves..

I completely understand this view point and one of our goals is to provide the widest selection of coins.  Your NASDAQ analogy is only partially correct.  Yes, we are removing some markets for under performance because the coin communities have chosen other exchanges as their home.  I understand the criticism and I've been working with coin devs who've reached out to us and asked to remain listed.  In fact, we'll be relaunching several of the coins we've removed in the last month. But there are a lot of coins whose devs have disappeared and their hash rates have dropped dramatically making the networks unstable.  That would be like the NASDAQ allowing bankrupt and closed companies to continue to trade on their exchange.

We've received both positive and negative feedback on our new policy and we're considering all options moving forward.  We haven't been tone deaf to the community and have gladly kept around coins whose developers have been willing to dialog with us.

Hey Bill,

Any chance that you can put the removal of Coin2 on hold?

The reason that the coin2  trading volume is so low is because it hasn't been trading at all, the trading was suspended at our request.

You guys helped us out in the past and we sung the praises about your overall crypto-competency to all that would listen... please cut us a little slack now.

We are working on a replacement (once again) for the old coin2 with a better version.

Just give us some time..

We will keep you informed.

Signed,

Bittzy78 and the Coin2 board

Also,

Please let us know when the affiliate program form Bittrex will finally be implemented. Smiley

Okay.  We'll keep NC2 around and reassess once the new wallet is ready.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] 14 Potential Markets de-listed from Bittrex on Friday, May 30th on: May 24, 2014, 05:50:48 PM
We look for coins that have high community demand, innovations to crypto-coin technology, or a contribution to science and humanity. We believe in aggressively taking chances on coins and letting the free market sort out which coins should thrive. We just as aggressively prune our markets to allow new coins the visibility to grow in our exchange.

Below you will find markets that we're removing on Friday, May 30th.  If you'd like to see them stick around, the best thing to do is spread the word and get the market active again.  We generated this list based on average volume in the last week (must have at least 0.1 BTC per day to pay for itself) and length of time on Bittrex.

365Coin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-365
AphroditeCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-APH
BeatleCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-BEA
GPUCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-GPUC

VioletCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-VLT
UltraCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-UTC

Reevaluate once the new wallet is available:
Coin2: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-NC2

Saved due to community momentum:
HempCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-THC
InformationCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-ITC
PotCoin: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-POT

We'll follow a pattern of announcing and removing under-performing markets twice a week.  We'll announce the next set of candidates for deletion on Monday for removal on Friday.

After a market is deleted, you will have 14 days to remove your funds before we shut down the wallet (provided the blockchain permits it.)

65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FairCoin (FAC) - NEW DEVELOPMENT TEAM - Innovation - Promoting Equality - on: May 23, 2014, 03:12:25 AM
I have already replied on the thread. Otherwise they are asking for more volume, and seems that everyone here is trading in mintpal...
So if any of you is interested today in sell faircoin put your order on bittrex, and some of us will buy  Grin

They replied, that can reconsider delisting if see some movements in their pair. If we thing that could be good maintain this exchange would be good
to move some volume there...
I like the Bittrex market very much, so I have also asked to keep FairCoin on their exchange.
You can read my message at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=620401.msg6878538#msg6878538

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your messages.  I'm happy to see that we're playing a small part in your plans for FairCoin.  When we started Bittrex, our goal was to support as many coins as we can in the crypto-community and give them time to grow.   Unfortunately, every market adds a small cost to our exchange and it doesn't make sense to keep unused markets going.  As long as you can keep 0.1 BTC of daily volume on the FairCoin exchange, that covers our maintenance costs to keep the market open.

Because of the response both on the board and in the market, we're pushing back the removal of FairCoin from Bittrex.

Thank you again for your support,
Bill

67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 5 Markets being removed from Bittrex this Friday on: May 23, 2014, 12:45:56 AM
Hi,

We're going to leave FairCoin for another week and we appreciate you explaining the plan for your coin and generating activity in Bittrex.

Our minimum volume for markets going forward will be 0.1 BTC per day averaged across 7 days.  That isn't much volume to generate and it keeps us from losing money on the market.   Of course, we have discretion to leave markets up for coins that we feel need time to develop.

Helping the crypto-coin community grow and innovate coins has always been our goal.   We're willing to keep working with you to have FairCoin on our exchange.
Bill

We'd consider leaving FAC on Bittrex but we'd like to see some positive movement in the market by Friday.

Is anyone having problems with bittrex deposits?
Are they on the right chain?

EDIT: this is obviously related to Standardcoin
You may on the wrong chain.
Check the explorer at:
http://explorer.standardcoin.net/
to see if you are on the right chain.

Already done like 20 mins ago.
This is the wallet bittrex provided me but my balance is still not showing
You should contact the bitrex support to see if something went wrong.

Yeah, thank you anyway

I'm in the same boat.. plenty of confirmations on my end.

I tweeted Bittrex and gave them a heads up. I'm sure they can correct it on their end.

Hi everyone, we're taking a look at why deposits have been slow.  We processed a few deposits today so not everyone is stuck. Disabled the wallet temporarily as a precaution.

so you are saying our funds are not lost, just delayed?

Don't know for sure, we're investigating.

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [PSA] [ANN] Process for launching coins on Bittrex.com on: March 28, 2014, 07:04:36 PM
Hi everyone,

To keep coin developers and the community from getting scammed, I wanted to clarify how to submit a new coin for Bittrex.com.  We've seen a couple of coin developers say they are launching with us or paying us a bounty and we've never talked to them.

As many of you know, we don't require any bounties or donations for launching a new coin in our exchange. If we receive a donation, we give 100% of it to our users through faucets and other promotions.  We look for coins that have high community demand, innovations to crypto-coin technology, or a contribution to science or humanity. And we often take risks on new coins. All we ask for is a good faith effort to market your relationship with us.

The preferred place for you to submit your coin is to email support@bittrex.com or message me (bittrex-bill) directly with the following information:
1) Is your coin listed on other exchanges today?
2) Does our wallet have a github and where is it located?
3) What is your network transaction fee?
4) What is your minimum transaction size?
5) Do you have a preferred day for us to add your coin?
6) Where are your logos hosted?

As of this time, the only 3 authorized Bittrex.com accounts on bitcointalk are bittrex-bill, bittrex-rami, and richiela.  If someone else contacts you about a coin launch claiming to be part of Bittrex.com, please report them.

If you are considering mining or investing in a coin and want to double-check whether we're really going to launch it, please message me or tweet us @BittrexExchange.

Thank you for all of your support,
Bill

PS.  We're very aggressive about launching new coins and markets and we're about to get equally aggressive at removing them.  Stay tuned for more announcements about that.

We're considering adding it.  If one of the devs is interested, have them contact me.

Well at least you answered my questions. I'll just wait till the poll is over to see if you'll keep your word regarding the vote results..

Beli coin is now in Bittrex. Smiley

Thanks for adding CGB as well.

But CGA came second right?

For reasons not related to the poll, we launched CGB and CGA.  Smiley
