61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: October 31, 2020, 01:27:01 AM
Does anyone have the best settings the RX 5700 XT for both efficiency and hash rate?
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethOS - Ethereum Mining Platform on: October 26, 2020, 11:29:52 PM
Im still running it no issues....  been able to update miners to every current version no issue.

If you are looking for a mining OS...i would not recommend this as it is getting long in the tooth...but if you already own licenses it works great as it always did.  Super stable.  Just no longer being updated but has a script that will install all popular miners current versions.

If you are looking to getting a mining OS now i would highly recommend mmpOS

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5088988.0

Ive got several newer rigs on it and love it.

Thanks for your input, I will check out your suggestion.

Is this still a viable OS since it was last updated in October 2018?

yes

Thanks, I didn't want to burn out the board... that worked well...
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AsRock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 Does not start BIOS, no POST on: October 23, 2020, 01:01:59 AM
Sorry to revive this, but do these boards need power to both the 24 and 8 pin ATX connectors?
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: B250 Mining Expert No Display on: October 18, 2020, 11:02:23 PM
Which video card are you running?

FYI, this is the Bitcoin mining section, this should be moved down to the altcoin section.
67  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFGMiner not working with Slushpool? on: October 17, 2020, 06:36:41 PM
I'm not sure that your hash rate will do anything on SlushPool. I would recommend pointing the devices at https://solo.ckpool.org/ for lottery mining. Recently, I had 10 U1/2's (20+ Gh) running against the pool for about 2 months, but stopped after I never solved a block larger than 10 million.

I know that the VH fork for CG Miner runs the U1/2's fine, but not sure about Block Erupters as I do not have any.

Which OS are you running? Windows, Unix, Raspberry PI?
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Introducing : Dogecoin Cloud Mining on: October 16, 2020, 09:58:14 PM
This reminds me of all the people that got burned with ZenMiner/Gaw folding or CEX hash never paying for itself.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASRock H81 and H110 on: October 12, 2020, 04:35:59 PM
Yes, i know.

I didn't realize that I posed the question in such a way to illicit a jocular response to my inquiry. Let me adjust my original request.

Can anyone tell me if the H81 PRO or H110 PRO motherboards support the AMD RX5700 series GPU's?

Thanks in advance for any help or direction that you can provide.

Does anyone know if these boards support (ASRock H81 and H110) the newer RX5700XT GPU's?
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Build: motherboard for 6x GPU based on AMD CPU? on: October 11, 2020, 12:48:20 PM
Following, I'm in the same boat...
72  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Small miner viability question: USB-C bus power? on: October 01, 2020, 07:54:42 PM
I just picked up a ASUS TUF X570 Gaming PLUS WIFI System Board and it has Next-Gen Connectivity: Dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A /Type-C... that said, I have no idea what that means.

73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 26, 2020, 04:31:37 PM
What operating system are you running? If running Windows, did you use Zadig to install the USB driver? Are you using CGMiner that was modified by VH to recognize the Gekko hardware? If Raspberry PI running Raspbian, did you run the following:

Code:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get upgrade -y

$ sudo apt-get install -y build-essential git libusb-1.0-0-dev libusb-1.0-0 libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev screen libtool automake pkg-config libjansson-dev

$ mkdir -p git/vthoang; cd git/vthoang
$ git clone -b r606 https://github.com/vthoang/cgminer.git
$ cd cgminer

$ CFLAGS="-O2" ./autogen.sh --enable-gekko
$ make -j 2

I forgot to add this portion earlier:

Code:
cd ~/git/vthoang/cgminer/
sudo usermod -G plugdev -a `whoami`
sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
sudo reboot
74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: September 23, 2020, 08:06:07 PM
they say they do. not sure if that is the only way it mines which is why they won't mine on solo.ckpool and mmpool.org.

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but are you saying that the BRAIINS OS is no good on CKPOOL and MMPOOL, or that they just do not take the boost into consideration?
75  Bitcoin / Pools / Question regarding solo.ckpool.org on: September 12, 2020, 10:29:10 PM
Is solo.ckpool.org still the best option for people using outdated mining equipment for lottery mining?
76  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: KanoPool kano.is lowest 0.9% fee 🐈 since 2014 - Worldwide - 2432 blocks on: September 04, 2020, 11:41:44 PM
Will this pool accept an S9 running BRAIINS since it's not firmware provided by the manufacturer?
77  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: September 04, 2020, 11:59:31 AM
Used the autotuning and specified 500w. It says its drawing 491w on all three boards  (527w at the wall).

Thanks for the direction/advice.

I set up one of my S9's with the same autotune parameters. It's been running for 11 hours stable @ 498 at the software level and 531 @ the wall. Hashing at 6.086Th/s.

Stock fans haven't gone above 4% and I have the unit in my non climate controlled New York summer garage.

I liked the 120x120x25mm delta fans.

Thanks for the reply. Are you running the 4000 RPM fans?
78  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: September 03, 2020, 11:32:22 PM
How do you get down to 6TH @ 530w? Do you just unplug 2 of the boards?
79  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: September 03, 2020, 04:51:59 PM
1) how does it react to swapping fans, probably to some industrial noctuas 2000rpm?

This is an interesting question, has anyone had any luck swapping the fans using BRAIINS? I know that my S9 after BRAIINS install has a stock fan that bounces all over the place approximately every 30 seconds to a minute.
80  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: U3 gh/s on: September 02, 2020, 01:43:35 AM
I recall having an easier time running them BGMiner with them back in the day. That said, have you tried running the VH fork of CGMiner 4.11.1? I find it works well with the old U1/U2's, but I haven't tested it with a U3.

Follow the directions in this thread for the VH CGMiner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.0

You can also mess with the settings using the current version of CGMIner:

Code:
--au3-freq <arg>    Set AntminerU3 frequency in MHz, range 100-250 (default: 225.0)
--au3-volt <arg>    Set AntminerU3 voltage in mv, range 725-850, 0 to not set (default: 775)

Also, this thread has a lot of information: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=827356.1480
