61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Mt.Gox now offers international wire transfer to all US Banks on: June 28, 2012, 03:07:17 AM
@MtGox, how do you remove old withdrawal methods (bank wire)?

I am not sure to understand your question, do you want to cancel a withdrawal?
As in, my bank supports both SWIFT and ABA. I want to remove the SWIFT method. How do I do this?

I would first advise you to test both system and compare the fees first. Your Bank may have different fees for SWIFT and ABA, this depending of the intermediary bank they used in each case. Once you found out the best solution for your needs please contact the support and ask them to remove the one that you no longer want.

Are these ACH transfers or bank wire transfers through the Fedwire system?

These are not ACH Transfer but International Wire. ACH Transfer we never offered them since we are a Japanese Based company.

And subject to Mt.Gox's 3 week waiting period for withdraws.   Roll Eyes

Well you know what will happen when you send around 10,000 USD (or a total of 10,000 USD within a certain time)... Delays. Still we have been clear on the forum.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [ANN] Mt.Gox now offers international wire transfer to all US Banks on: June 28, 2012, 02:33:52 AM
https://mtgox.com/press_release_20120626.html

TOKYO - JAPAN - June 26, 2012 - Mt.Gox announced the support of ABA routing number based transfers designed to simplify withdrawals to US based accounts.

Created in 1911 by the American Banker Association, the ABA routing number is, unlike the worldwide Swift Standard, a nine digit bank code used by all banks across all states offering a unique way to identify a bank in the USA.

By supporting the ABA routing number standard, Mt.Gox is now able to provide customers the ability to make international wire transfers to banks that were until today not supported by Mt.Gox default withdrawal methods.

Starting today, Mt.Gox users wishing to withdraw their funds to their US based bank account will now see along side the IBAN, SWIFT/BIC, a new ABA field where they will now be able to put their unique nine digit bank code identifying their branch.

Please note that like IBAN, SWIFT/BIC international wire transfers, ABA based transfers are also subject to bank fees and transactions.

Regards
Mt.Gox Co. Ltd Team.

66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: STOP selling bitcoin on MtGox, b/c there's virtually no way to withdraw it on: June 28, 2012, 02:26:34 AM
a user replied to me, not MtGox. Don't you think MtGox should be replying instead of relying on users to answer customer's questions?
Plus, I had no idea it is still possible, as the user posted it was completed, as in PAST tense. How am I supposed to know if it is still possible NOW without MtGox saying it explicitly?

Well it seems that you doubt whatever we said, so I thought that you would be more inclined in believing someone else experience on the forum? If Dwolla withdrawal were not possible anymore we would automatically remove this option, so far it still works.

Yes, gov likes to check into $10k transfers, but from what I gather on this forum, is that is takes a long time regardless of amount. It would be nice if MtGox came out straight and say only 5% of customers are affected and why.

Have you read this ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=87086.0
67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: June 28, 2012, 02:21:30 AM
It has been explained here over and over. Dwolla decided to change its TOS when it comes to Bitcoin, this in order to protect their clients and their company and we have no problem whatsoever with them willing to protect their business. Dwolla requires now companies like us to submit certain documentations to issue them a "Writing Consent" that allow companies like us to freely continue to do business with Dwolla. As for today and after submitted these documents several weeks ago we are still waiting fro Dwolla to get back to us putting us in a very delicate situation with the fear of being shutdown at any single instant and have the funds on our Dwolla account frozen.

Thanks, I initiated a support ticket with Dwolla and referenced this discussion thread.  I am sure that when everyone knows where the bottleneck is we will get this worked out.

Thanks, hope it will have the effect we are all waiting for, we, Mt.Gox try to do everything by the book and would love to continue working with Dwolla and comply with their terms. I personally sent an email to Ben Milne 22nd but have yet received an email from him.
68  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So I guess MtGox isn't even trying anymore ... on: June 28, 2012, 02:15:26 AM
Just a bump, bump, bump.

Dwolla transfers finally cleared after 2 weeks but the bank wire (yeah that option I idiotically paid $40 extra for) still hasn't even been processed.  No ETA, no processing, no funds.

So if Dwolla is causing delays in bank wires then how is it that my Dwolla requests got funded faster than the bank wire?
B/c MtGox might be running a scam

Please stop spreading false rumors pretty much everywhere on this forum. If you could please focus on one thread it will make is MUCH easier for everyone to follow the overall conversation and for us to explain the situation, which by the way has been already explained here on this forum many times!
69  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: STOP selling bitcoin on MtGox, b/c there's virtually no way to withdraw it on: June 28, 2012, 02:13:06 AM
I would like to ask the community to stop selling Bitcoins on MtGox, as there are no easy method to withdraw the USD.
Dwolla is taking forever, and their Wire service cost $40, and no word on how long it will take. DeathAndTexas has indicated that they haven't processed his Wire transfer yet, and it's been 19+days.

This sounds like a huge scam to me. Operate an exchange site, but no way to withdraw your USD. For all I know, they can be hoarding the USD, and disappear one day.

You accusation are just wrong and borderline lies.

YES Withdrawals are slow when it comes to DWOLLA but we have been clear on this forum on the reasons why many times, please check by yourself. As for Wire fees? Guess what? We do not make the rules on how much they cost, Banks does! And please remember that we are based in Japan and not in the USA explaining why these cost are expensive! Also please note that it is only affecting USD Withdrawals and not other currencies.

As we stated many times we are working on a solution but here as well it takes times since we have to deal with good old fashion banks and rules that hate having people poking around their lucrative system. We truely understand everyone's frustration and anger, we are really working hard to get this sorted out soon. But to tell you the truth any single time a Bank or a Organization have an opportunity to slow us down they will!
Mt.Gox is one of the Oldest Exchange on the market and after being thru hell over and over we are still here! Check what happen to others? TradeHill for example the 2nd largest exchange and our best "Nemesis" was somehow forced out (Read the forum and you will know the reasons), Bitconica and its brilliant concept is now closed and a lot of people are still waiting to get this over with.

So yes, we understand this situation is not perfect, but try, if you can, to understand the particularity of the Bitcoin situation itself you may start to understand the work load we have and how hard it is. Sure just open a Exchange tomorrow run it yourself with a few customers and well you will be safe, then your volume will pick-up eventually and you will see how things are.
So can you answer whether Dwolla withdrawals are still possible or not? If not, why not remove it from the website? It is false advertising.
I have a pending Dwolla transfer, if it is IMPOSSIBLE at this time, then I would like my funds back. I only traded on MtGox on the assumption that I can withdraw the USD by Dwolla.

While you may not set the fees for WIRE transfer, but how do you explain why it takes over 19 days to do it?

I am not sure how I can make it more clear, YES DWOLLA withdrawals are still possible, they are just long I believe that a user replied to you on this already https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=87320.msg994648#msg994648

Why WIRE transfer take time? As we posted on this forum already only 5% of them are affected. Now why Wire are taking time, well this as well as been explained here on the forum. It really depends on the amount you are wiring and the frequency. I am not sure if you are aware of that fact but the US government like to check international wire and wires (even several ones) to the same account around 10,000 USD will trigger a check from your beloved government. No since we are talking about Bitcoin here somehow you will quickly realize that they are really good at checking things. This explain why 5% of our international Wire in USD are touched.
70  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are USD Withdrawals From Mt Gox to Dwolla Still Taking Weeks? on: June 28, 2012, 01:38:07 AM
MtGox might be intentionally holding your $$ so they can put the $$ into some kind of interest paying investment.
I tried to withdraw $400, and it's been 3 days. Then I ask what happened, they said I need to have my account verified.
Their own FAQ stated that WITHOUT verification, one can withdraw up to $1000 a day. So how is $400 > $1000?Huh
I smell some sort of scam.

Guys... we already replied to this question again and again and again. Please make sure to read carefully what we post. We are still waiting for Dwolla to give us a "Green Light" and continue to work with them. Since we do not have any reply from them after sending them all the necessary documentation we want to play safe. They can at anytime close or account and freeze any funds on it. To avoid this problem we are carefully monitoring the account and asked for people to be verified.
How do you explain the fact that DeathAndTexas WIRE withdrawal took over 19 days? More excuses?

I believe that things have been explained over and over and over, you are frustrated, for good reasons, but please try to understand what we announce. We are carefully monitoring the flow of money on Dwolla to not be caught in bad situation. Until Dwolla say otherwise we are still allowed to use their services. Having AML of people using Dwolla is also a good way to protect you guys using the service, if tomorrow they abruptly close our account and freeze funds we will have all your contact details handy to give your back your funds.

We do not give more excuse, we do not fabricate them neither, but you have to understand what Bitcoin is and how Banks, Financial authorities, Governments and others think about Bitcoin, they definitively do not love it! So in this rather unique situation you have to understand that sometimes some delays could happen.

72  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: June 27, 2012, 03:05:30 AM
Why not completely disable Dwolla, now that Bitinstant offers paypal withdraw? 6% fee sucks, but hopefully it would be instant.

We have debated this internally many times, still Dwolla "works" and it is really cheap, on the other side we should have our own very cheap solution within this summer (Mid August) that will allow instant Withdraw and Deposit in Different countries... So we prefer focusing on this right now and keep on supporting Dwolla until then, or until they get back to us.
73  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: June 27, 2012, 02:34:37 AM
I have been trying to withdraw a few hundred dollars from MtGox. My account wasn't verified, because the FAQ says I don't need to be verified.
https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20919111-aml-account-statuses
Specifically "No verification needed (Level 0) - All accounts are initially Level 0"
"Daily withdrawal limit (24hrs): 1,000 USD (or equivalent) "

These days, I try to withdraw to Dwolla, and I thought everything was going smooth. But the $$ still haven't come in to dwolla, so I ask why.
MtGox rep replied that I need to provide document to become verified. This is absolutely not necessary as their own FAQ stated that I can withdraw up to $1000 a day without becoming verified.
It's been 3 days, and my funds are still stuck in MtGox. I've since sent them the documents.
If MtGox keep doing this, all their customers are just going to other exchange sites.

I am in the same situation, last month I tried to withdraw a couple hundred dollars to dwolla.  First the transaction said it was confirmed, then it was cancelled without even notifying me.  A week ago I logged into Mt. Gox only to discover that the funds were never transferred.  I started reading about the "verified account" nonsense, I couldn't understand why a transaction for $200 bucks would not be allowed.  I decided just to get my account verified.  After a three day process I finally had my account verified, I initiated the transfer out and STILL nothing has hit dwolla.

I have no idea what is going on at Mt. Gox but it cannot be good.  This process used to take minutes, I have been trying to get my money out for over a month now.

It has been explained here over and over. Dwolla decided to change its TOS when it comes to Bitcoin, this in order to protect their clients and their company and we have no problem whatsoever with them willing to protect their business. Hi

Yes you are right Level 0 does not require any AML documents, however, due to Dwolla's new TOS and since we are still waiting for them to give us a "Green Light" in continuing doing business with them we had to change our AML requirements. (One of my colleague will update the support page for that https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20919111-aml-account-statuses).

However, and I am sorry that you did miss this announcement, but we release on this Forum, FaceBook, Twitter, Google+ and on our Mt.Gox Homepage the following Press Release https://mtgox.com/press_release_20120518.html explaining our new terms when it comes to AML and DWOLLA. Also we sent an email notification to all Dwolla user with the above Press Announcement.

So bottom line if you want to use Dwolla you need to be Level 1. If you prefer not upgrading your account to Level 1 and Keep your Level 0 account for your needs you still can withdraw your money but need to use the international wire method.

Hope this answer your question.

I am waiting for an international withdrawal (a big one) which I have initiated on the 11th of June, and it looks like it hasn't even been "processed" yet Sad

Can someone please let me know what is going on (ticket #29927)?

79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox transfer to USA banks, fees? on: June 22, 2012, 04:25:01 AM
Is there any fee for MtGox withdraw to major US banks? Do they use ACH? or wire?

Hi,

Yes there are fees but these fees will change significantly from Banks to Banks. Now since we are not based in the USA we do not support ACH yet (but working on solving this issue), only Wire are accepted so far.
80  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So I guess MtGox isn't even trying anymore ... on: June 22, 2012, 03:33:20 AM
That doesn't explain one damn thing. Bitcoin is nothing to banks. Mtgox isn't even a gnat in the financial world. It's a microbe.

What about wire transfers? What's your excuse there? I wire huge amounts of money all over the world with far far more AML regs and yet they don't take more than 15 minutes to do a wire and receive a confirmation of reception. Yet mtgox takes a week to even start it.

Let's face it gox has extremely poor liquidity and that's usually the red flag that any financial institution is about to go under.

You all should be prepping your resumes rather than running the PR bullshiat here. None of us are buying it.

The rats are jumping your sinking ship.

Did you open a ticket? And what is the Ticket number to check what's going on. I am not telling this is your case, but we see many mistakes made by users when filling the withdrawal process that in some case will make the overall process very long.
such a bullshit how come you guys cannot process 600$ for 3 weeks anybody who is reading that  i wouldnt process more then 300-400 with them just in case u will never see them again its not a lot of money
