61  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could btc hit 1 usd? on: July 04, 2017, 09:06:15 PM
Could some major shift or change happen that would bitcoin nearly worthless especially overnight?
Nothing is impossible but it is a far fetched imagination.Price fall to  $1 overnight is very remote possibility.
But if that happens,I will buy as many as I can

Even I will do the same if bitcoin falls that low in future but that is unlikely to happen as bitcoin is growing now and in future it will be even more powerful currency in terms of its value and if bitcoin starts falling then there will be many people who will prefer to quit bitcoins and switch to some other investment.
62  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investment on: July 04, 2017, 07:09:10 PM
What are the best investment opetions for bitcoins to be put into?
Please post here!
i dont know what is the bestway to invest bitcoin
but investment in reality is not always make an profit, but also it can be risky.. i reccomend you not to invest all of you btc  Cool
One of the best investment for me is trading because it is less risky and you are sure enough that you will earn instead of gambling that is really risky and that you must be ready to face that you might lose your resources.
All investment is risky, trading is good to invest your bitcoin but make sure you do a research of what altcoins is profitable. Also, bitcoin is best for investment because I beleive price will increase this year.
Of course trading is better to invest compared from other offered online investments, but without proper knowledge and researches of different types of alt crypto currency coins will be difficult to distinguish how profit will come out of our way. If you entertain those online investments aside from tradings, I guess you made it to a wrong choice but if you trade with crypto currencies and also holds your bitcoin in your wallet for several months; you will difinitely see it rises it's price value in a long run.

If you don't want to take any risky of investing your bitcoins then best way to make profits is by holding them for a long term as price will be higher in next few years so if you have higher amount of bitcoins then you can make good profits by simply keeping them safe in your wallet.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit? on: July 04, 2017, 07:06:32 PM
I'm gamble for fun) I don't want to risk big amounts and so it doesn't make sence to me try to get sufficient profit from gambling.
But it is fun. And I like moments when winning, even if winnings are really small

We know that earning bitcoins has become very hard now so we cannot afford to loose big amount of it in gambling as it will take long time to earn them back so its better to gamble for fun with a small amount that we can afford to loose as if you will gamble thinking of making profits then you will surely loose your money in it.
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 on: July 04, 2017, 07:01:05 PM
I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 so that I can sell my Bitcoins, but seems as if it doesn't want to reach that value anytime soon. SHould I sell with the current amount? Undecided
Dont sell it.Just hold.We all too expected bitcoin to cross $3000 by this time. But when segwit will be activated on August 1st,it would definitely trigger the bitcoin price and bitcoin would cross $3000.So just wait a little more.
Sure and believe that bitcoin will soon pass that price. If you're sure that you have a lot of bitcoin for now, I also suggest to hold it, because I'm so sure, bitcoin prices will go up high again. This always happens every year end.

That's right at the end of every year we have seen massive growth in the price of bitcoins and we can expect that from this year too and may be we will see the price of $3000 before the year ends so the best thing would be to hold bitcoins till it reaches to that price as that is the best price to sell bitcoins.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why people do not get Bitcoin. on: July 04, 2017, 06:54:33 PM
I think the reason why people don't really get bitcoin is because they aren't really interested in it.
It is pretty much obvious and bitcoin is becoming trending right now so if they aren't still getting into bitcoin that is because they don't really want to be in it.

No, I don't think so and I think they are not getting into bitcoins only because they don't have sound knowledge of bitcoins and many of them have not even heard about bitcoins yet so we cannot expect them to start using or earning bitcoins and they will start using it only if we someone teaches them in proper way.
66  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: **US** BitFury Setup Guide on: September 10, 2013, 09:43:34 PM
Nope - I mine just fine using us1 or us2.eclipsemc.com.  Just make certain you use port 3333.

Wow - their FAQ states use port 8337

What am I missing here?
This issue cost me, like, 2 days of mining revenue.
67  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: **US** BitFury Setup Guide on: September 10, 2013, 06:34:11 PM
Sorry if this has already been mentioned somewhere in this thread or in the long "Bitfury in the U.S." thread:

I was not able to get the starter kit mining against us2.eclipsemc.com
Both the Eclipse status page and the apache status page on the Raspberry Pi showed 0 GH/s
Restarting the miner and/or the stratum proxy did not help.

However, once I started mining against stratum.mining.eligius.st, everything started working and the
starter kit achieves its advertised hash rate of 25 GH/s.

Maybe this note should be put into the first post, if someone else can confirm this issue.
68  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Have you ordered your HashFast Baby Jet yet? on: August 15, 2013, 03:20:21 PM
IMHO, too expensive at the current difficulty.
69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How much would it actually cost to design an ASIC? on: July 28, 2013, 01:52:57 PM
It depends on many factors:
- Technology node - older ones, like the ones you mention, are less expensive even at the design stage.
- do you plan on writing the Verilog code yourself or just print out a copy of the SHA-256 standard and tell them to implement a Bitcoin miner?
- if you go to a tier 1 design house, say, the design house division of Synopsys, it will be more expensive than if you go to, say, a small fly-by-night vendor operating out of a garage and using cracked design tools which they stole from their local university

But to give you a rough idea, when I gave my own Verilog code to a second-tier design house and asked for a quote for the physical design at the 65 nm technology node, the quote was $150K.
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Process-invariant hardware metric: hash-meters per second (η-factor) on: July 06, 2013, 05:41:22 AM
EldenTyrell, on the website Bitfurystrikesback.com Mr. Bitfury claims a hash rate of 2.7 GH/s per chip. In this thread, you claim 2.0 GH/s per chip. Please explain and/or correct this discrepancy. Thank you.
71  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official TerraHash topic (possible scam) on: May 28, 2013, 03:23:52 PM
Why the need for a separate thread on this? You could have posted your "investigation" in their thread.

And I don't understand why you have labeled it "possible scam"? AFAIK they haven't asked for anyones money yet.

Too soon bro, too soon.  Tongue

Noob, you could have checked the thread creation dates, then you would have found out that I created this thread BEFORE they created their own thread.

But you're probably too much of a noob to check thread creation dates and such.

For the record: Since I live and work in Silicon Valley, I was asked (in a chat forum) to check out their [then] 1258 Birchwood, Sunnyvale address. When I drove there, their 'address' turned out to be an alleyway between two existing addresses - 1260 Birchwood and 1256 Birchwood. I asked at **BOTH** existing addresses whether they had ever heard of 1258 Birchwood. At both addresses, the answer was negative...

After doing all that, I created this thread.

Half a day or a day later, Terrahash created their own thread and suddenly changed their address on the website to 1261 Birchwood, which is diagonally across the street from 1258 Birchwood and which had (and still has) a 'for lease' sign in front of it.

Again, draw your own conclusions. I'm *not* claiming that Terrahash is a scam. I'm merely stating that there is some **possibility** it could be a scam, given their history of nonexistent and 'for lease' addresses and all.
72  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official TerraHash topic (possible scam) on: May 28, 2013, 03:29:36 AM
Terrahash is now registered as a business with the state of California, its headquarters listed at a RESIDENTIAL address on South Mary Avenue in Sunnyvale. One of these days I will drive there during lunch break and take a picture of the house. Maybe, with a little bit of luck, I'll be even able to find out who lives there.

Stay tuned...
73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: May 22, 2013, 07:34:51 AM
Might be up in the SF area for the Memorial Day weekend. I know you will be moving in this weekend but will we will be able to drop by and say hi?

After initially posting a nonexistent address, then an address which had a 'for lease' sign in front, they have now completely removed the address from their website.

Draw your own conclusions.
74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: May 12, 2013, 03:40:51 AM
Will you hosting service of large DX nodes only allow fully populated models are you going to allow partially filled as well?

We will host partially filled as well, but the price is same.

makes sense because they have to assemble all the other components, capacitors and such, and run it through the reflow oven, and then test the board.
75  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: May 11, 2013, 03:51:35 AM
One option that I wish that was available was to have either the 16 or 64 board to order without Avalon chips being installed. Hopefully this would be cheaper and allow me to get a system up faster as I don't have to deal with the wasted time of shipping chips back and forth.

So, you have access to a reflow oven?

Just curious.

Tricky warranty questions may arise if one of the reflow ovens (TerraHash's or yours) winds up not being calibrated properly and, as a consequence, damages/destroys one or more of the electronic components.

Yeah I work for an electronics company that has a reflow oven I can use after hours. For me I am most concerned about the turn around time. If I can get a board from terrahash or directly from BBK that should help me to get mining with the chips faster.
Pick & Place machine also I presume?
Do you have a plan for the solder paste stencil - e.g. source/thickness?
Solder paste in mind? (Assuming everyone is going to use lead based since it reflows at such a nice low temp and is all around awesome)

Lead-based solder is basically outlawed in California now - this just FYI.

I never said they were on the same side. Obviously there is some misunderstanding here. Personally I have not seen any of the two places we were looking to lease. All I know is we finally chose 1261. We will take possession in a couple of days, and then you will be more than welcome to come visit us.

I'll drive by next week, but I don't know which day of the week.
It'll be interesting to see whether the "For Lease" sign is gone, for instance.

Personally, I'm not interested in Avalon ASIC-based mining rigs.
I briefly considered buying a batch of 10000, then realized that 10000 Avalon ASICs draw about 28 kW or so - a rather unwieldy wattage, especially in areas supplied by Plunder, Grab & Extort (PG&E).
78  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official TerraHash topic (possible scam) on: May 07, 2013, 10:00:49 PM
I asked at the reception of the business at 1256 Birchwood whether there is a 1258 Birchwood - they said "no".
I asked at the reception of the business at 1260 Birchwood whether there is a 1258 Birchwood - they, too, said "no".

All of the even-numbered addresses are on the east side of the street. All of them.
All of the odd-numbered addresses are on the west side of the street. All of them.

Draw your own conclusions.
79  Bitcoin / Hardware / Official TerraHash topic (possible scam) on: May 07, 2013, 09:11:43 PM
So, I heard about TerraHash this morning - it's close to my favorite Pho place, "Pho Queen", a place with incredibly good Pho and incredibly rude waiters.
I decided to combine business with pleasure and check the place out at noon.

Their website http://terrahash.com/contact-us/ gives their location as 1258 Birchwood Dr. in Sunnyvale, CA.

Guess what:

There is a 1260 Birchwood Drive.  http://s1349.photobucket.com/user/Inspector_2211/media/1260_birchwood_zpse3c98f4f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2

Then, where 1258 should be, there is an alley.  http://s1349.photobucket.com/user/Inspector_2211/media/1258_birchwood_is_an_alley_zps143d2a81.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1

And there is a 1256 Birchwood Drive.  http://s1349.photobucket.com/user/Inspector_2211/media/1256_birchwood_zpscb0c3e10.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0

'nuff said.

Update: they have now update their business address from the non-existent 1258 to 1261.
1261 had a huge "for lease" sign out in front when I walked by, but, being on the wrong side of the street, I didn't take a picture of it.
80  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA miner on: May 06, 2013, 02:18:47 PM
Hi,

is there any open source FPGA miner except Lancelot ,Icarus i can get the FPGA Very cheap 50$ for 1 FPGA .

these  FPGA miner used in Lancelot ,Icarus and give 200 mh/s.

thanks

Tiger,

I'm sure that once difficulty has increased enough for a FPGA-based mining device to cost more in electricity than it produces in Bitcoins, people will put these devices on eBay and you can snap them up cheaply.
