Is there an off-chance that your disk is full?

62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Setting up Bitcoin Qt and opening port 8333 on: December 10, 2015, 05:20:11 PM

Go here: https://www.whatismyip.com/ .  Note the IP adress. Fill it in here: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and set the port to 8333  You'll want to get a green flag.

Some routers you can set a static internal IP (sometimes called something like: set by MAC Adress etc.)
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I am running 11.0 how do I go to 11.2? on: December 10, 2015, 05:11:45 PM

Do you build yourself? (git etc.)

Otherwise just install the latest binary the same way you installed 11.0.

any anti virus software?

How is the health of your hard drive?

You always can connect to a known good node using the addnode= command.

67  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory 0.93.3 with BIP62 compliance on: December 09, 2015, 02:44:53 PM

I'm already in contact with support, but I'm wondering if other people experience Armory crashes too, shortly after "Organizing Blockchain" starts?

69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Full Node through VPN? on: December 05, 2015, 04:28:22 AM
You can just set your node to use a different port. Just change the port to something else and use that until your ISP blocks it and just keep switching it.

IIRC, different ports than 8333 are not recommended though for nodes, as other clients will look on 8333.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Full Node through VPN? on: November 27, 2015, 05:27:44 AM

Yes, however you probably will find that somebody else will have forwarded 8333 already.

If I remember correctly LB halted their service in Germany.

Anyone knows exactly why LBC halted service in Germany while continuing to operate elsewhere in the EU?

Licensing uncertainty

73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Restriced Network Access to Bitcoin Only on: September 28, 2015, 03:39:02 PM
[...] The shop already has free WiFi available to its customers. [...]
It is not convenient to have every customer who wishes to pay with bitcoin to sign in to the shop's WiFi network. [...]

Out of curiosity, why not? Bitcoin users should realise that they need internet to pay in bitcoin*. If they don't have their own data plan and the shop provides free wifi to customers (which the people with paying bitcoin are too) anyway, how is it not convenient?

Joining an open network is a security / privacy concern.

* There are some wallet solutions that allow a tx to be transferred via bluetooth or NFC, but it obviously depends on the wallet in use.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Using python to read blockchain on: September 28, 2015, 03:22:45 PM

Getting data from your locally stored blockchain (running bitcoind or bitcoin-qt) or the blockchain.info service?
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck Transaction - Major Confusuion on: September 28, 2015, 03:14:37 PM
Instead of pushing over and over, wouldn't it be better to let it drop from the mempool? That way you then can spend those coins using a proper fee.
76  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: September 27, 2015, 04:24:12 PM

Bitcoin mining with GPUs is obsolete.
79  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Singapore on: September 24, 2015, 02:54:47 AM
I doubt you'll find it in a shop in Singapore. https://www.buytrezor.com don't ship to your country? They do ship to Singapore however, so you could ship it to somebody you know there or the hotel you'll be staying at.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Do You have a Bitcoin Full Node running (24/7)? on: September 23, 2015, 01:08:05 PM

What is the minimum setup to run a full node on Linux ?

What is the minimal hardware I could use ?

I cannot use my laptop any more, no more drive space, too slow when I work and I have to turn it off at night.

Some people use a RPi (or similar spec'ed hardware) with an external harddrive. So much for minimum specs.

raspnode.com/diy.html

However the argument is, if you're actually helping the network with such a low spec computer, as it is slow with the tx forwarding (IIRC).
