61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Building Liquidity. on: December 16, 2019, 10:49:21 AM
I am updating the topic that we considering Signature Campaign here. But its not so easy to attract users which are experienced.
It's definitely not easy and I'm afraid that running a signature campaign will not do anything to the liquidity that you are hoping to get. The only thing it does is attract noobies who only want to squeeze every penny out of you.

Exchanges usually pay market makers for liquidity or offer them zero fee for a period of time so that they can take advantage of the gap between bid and ask. One way or another, it will come down to market makers to get that liquidity.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just feel sorry for Simplecoin users on: December 16, 2019, 10:12:09 AM
Not much to feel sorry about. I think that we haven't even seen the worst of what regulators will subject this space to, especially with how hard it has grown in the last couple of years. No way they will ignore it for ever.

People should know by now that these things happen. This is exactly why I'm not using any service that has a high potential of ending up like this. Is it fair? It's not but we all know too well that regulators couldn't care less.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: New law enables german banks to sell and store cryptocurrencies in 2020 on: December 15, 2019, 01:56:56 PM
But I think that we are closer and closer to the point when such actions and/or laws do more harm to the countries than to cryptocurrencies.
In what way exactly? I haven't seen much from the crypto industry that makes governments lose out. It's mainly big hopes and promises this industry relies on, but fails to actually deliver a problem solving product.

A lot of "promising" blockchain products haven't even been launched yet in fully working order. The money involved in this industry is so insignificant that countries with strong economies can keep ignoring it for a very long time.
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make big profits from exchanging bitcoin to altcoins on: December 15, 2019, 01:33:14 PM
I prefer investing in top coins which has a low profit but I am sure they are stable.
That depends on what you consider low profit. Currently the market isn't that volatile but when it is, the gains (but also losses) are significant. It's just so that we're currently going through a very boring market phase.

I can't say how long it will drag on like this, but what I can say is that whenever you think the market is boring, you are better off doing something else. Why waste your time staring at the charts all day that look as ugly as they did the week before?
65  Economy / Economics / Re: Greeks face heavy fines if they don't spend 30% of their income electronically on: December 14, 2019, 02:49:25 PM
Era of cash are gone. More and more govs want to control and see every transaction
It's not gone. I don't think they will ever get it to stop existing with how many people still depend on cash, especially in third world countries. Most of the imposed cash payment limits don't affect the normal person.

I don't even remember the last time I spent $1k in cash on something. Most of my cash payments are well under the $50 mark, where other payments are settled through my card. I'm not justifying the limits, only point out that they aren't as bad.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $5k? Tone Vays on: December 14, 2019, 02:18:36 PM
It's very likely that we'll see a big drop. In my opinion, if Bitcoin stays in the bear channel where it's been in for like the last 4 months, we should see a correction to $5,000 or $4,500 since it's such a psychological barrier.
I'm not so sure though. Many people had their target set at a recovery to +$10k levels and they were wrong, and badly so. Currently people target the $5k level and I think they will be wrong again.

I however don't see why $4.5k is such a psychological barrier? It would have made sense to say $7k, $6k but there is not much about $4.5k that makes it relevant. If we drop below $5k sub $4k is the next logical target.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How cryptocurrency could determine the UK general elections? on: December 14, 2019, 12:51:22 PM
Cryptocurrencies cannot and never affect any general election of any country. You should understand that, politics and economics, even technology is not directly related to each other.
It depends though. If you can make everyone vote on Bitcoin's blockchain for example, which is immutable by nature, there is nothing any political party can do to change the vote or make them disappear.

The manipulation has to happen before the vote has been broadcasted and confirmed. You always have to compromise on security and fairness somewhere, but at least this way it's going to be more fair than it has been before.

Every improvement counts I would say.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential ETH Prices in December the Lowest 98$ and the Highest 222$ on: December 14, 2019, 09:39:01 AM

But I hope the ethereum value will increase more than we expected because if the ethereum pump expect a good profit to come to us who is the ethereum which is us but for now market are stable also the ethereum waiting for the next movements hopefully wants to see rising movement.
I expect some solid pumping to happen before the shift to POS, but as always, there will very likely be a sell the news type of dump happening, so don't be the one holding the bag if you don't plan to stake your coins.

I personally will keep holding for staking purposes just to see if it's worth it, but if the rewards don't outweigh the time the coins are locked up (price going down is another risk) I will definitely consider selling the coins I have.

I hope that the ratio versus BTC doesn't drop in the meantime. In case I end up selling it will be to BTC and not fiat.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's your Bitcoin cash price prediction on: December 14, 2019, 01:14:37 AM
Sadly, I agree with this. They haven't really built a community or established an ecommerce network - and they needed to do that to succeed, otherwise what's the point of the bigger blocks?
There is no demand for what they offer. It's nothing but a big blocker's wet dream that the world is desperate for something like Bcash. If that was the case the blocks wouldn't near empty every single day.

Was this nonsense worth a fork? From a get rich quick perspective, definitely. From a fundamental use-case perspective, definitely not. Scamming and lying doesn't work either. It harms them and they don't even realize it.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Chainlink (LINK) a good investment? on: December 13, 2019, 03:40:32 PM
Some of the biggest partnerships in crypto and still  overlooked.  Smart contracts need to pull real world data reliably,  this is done through oracles. Chainlink has zero competition . Go figure.
How is it overlooked? Chainlink's chart looks healthier than any other crypto currency in the space. It has been doing well consistently while the rest of the space kept losing value against both the USD and BTC.

Also, just because it's doing something right it doesn't need a crazy valuation. It can do all those things just as easily at lower levels. IMHO, people have been front running its potential for quite some time now, but no end is in sight yet.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is for you scam project and what is for you good project? on: December 13, 2019, 02:39:16 PM
I always used to say that nearly all projects are scams, but that's not really the case. Most projects are badly executed ideas or ideas that never had a chance of taking off to become a multi million project. These aren't scams.

Scams in my opinion are those that make false promises, lie about who they have working for them, fake partnerships, and so on. These are quite easy to spot and for that reason should be ignored, but people invest in them anyway.

It's all about the gains within crypto, regardless of how risky or scamy a project is.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New solutions on existing industries on: December 13, 2019, 01:39:15 PM
The crypto community will be helped only by joining efforts because the endless desire to surpass each other has not led to anything good.
Nothing wrong with competition because that leads to better services at lower cost, but the way it happens within crypto or the 'blockchain industry' is really showing how it's not leading to better services at lower cost.

This space is too toxic and people are only interested in filling their own pockets. I some times really wonder if many people are actually interested in solving problems because if that was really the case, we would have done that already.

What problem have we solved so far? Bitcoin has taken care of the money part and Ethereum has taken care of the platform part where everyone can build and application on. Everything else is just noise.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: A Planet-to-Planet Electronic Cash System on: December 13, 2019, 09:57:32 AM
And who holds the private keys?
E.T.

In all seriousness, it's kinda sad that people are focusing on these nonsense topics while they could have spent their time productively focusing on how to make Bitcoin better and adoption by average joes not as convoluted.

People all want the price to pump but wait for others to do the work.  Undecided
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to gift Bitcoin this Christmas (+cool Bitcoin gift ideas) on: December 13, 2019, 09:37:04 AM
I have printed out a few nice looking paper wallets that I will fund just before the end of the year and give it as present. Hopefully the price from that point increases which is always a convenient way to get their attention.

That being said, I have been giving away paper wallets regardless of the time of the year. Giving some coins away for free helps onboarding people and hopefully they will do the same as seasoned Bitcoiners so that the word keeps spreading.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: whales are accumulating Bitcoin millions from binance and bittrex as well on: December 11, 2019, 08:09:25 PM
But I think that is not whales who are accumulating bitcoin, but people are doing the same as the whales.
It doesn't matter how deep people's pockets are, they are accumulating regardless because they consider it a good enough moment to buy and sell higher later, or they simply dollar cost average to get their buying price to drop further.

Nowadays whales are doing the best they can to not appear to be a whale, and so they no longer hold a few addresses with thousands of coins in them, but dozens of addresses where their thousands of coins are distributed. Quite smart right?
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin could be 6000$ soon give us your opinion on: December 11, 2019, 06:39:59 PM
although this is not my hope but seeing the conditions that provide the possibility that can happen so we must prepare for these conditions. (just stop at 6k, don't predict until 5k haha)
I like that. I am looking at the price action step by step too and that's how it should be, doesn't matter whether it's up or down. My target for now is the $6.5k mark which we hit not that long ago. If we take out that low $6k is very likely.

Some people are actively speculating about $5k and some even lower, but it's pointless to focus on these levels just like how it's pointless to focus on $10k from where we are today.

We don't get 40% pumps in 24h very often. This year's pump was the third in Bitcoin's history IIRC. No amount of technical analysis could have helped you prepare for that pump. It just happened unexpectedly.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is 2.5x more popular than DJIA (world’s strongest financial market) on: December 11, 2019, 05:53:18 PM
I think it's fair to say that anything that appeals to the people is more popular than a boring financial market index, which is why I find it an unfair comparison. IMHO, I think it doesn't make much sense.

Important is to know that the people we are talking about thinking that Bitcoin is more popular, are known to be dumb money. Smart money only allows a tiny allocation to Bitcoin where the rest sits in assets like stocks.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you Want from a secure wallet? on: December 11, 2019, 09:44:03 AM
I got one question. Why people store their BTC or other cryptos in their wallets either online or offline instead of exchange like Coinbase?
It's always better to be the only person with access to your private keys, where if you for example store your coins on an exchange like Coinbase you technically have given majority ownership of your coins to Coinbase.

Your only right is to request a withdrawal and hope they will send you your coins. In most cases they will do that, but what if they no longer do? People don't think about that but they should. It's a risk impossible to ignore.

I'm sure people don't even read the terms before registering, which means that if there is anything in there stating something that puts you in a disadvantage, you only find out about it when it's too late.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey: At What Price would you stop investing more money into Bitcoin ??? on: December 11, 2019, 09:12:28 AM
Me as well, when that day comes that bitcoin has no value at all I would stop investing and will withdraw my assets. But when bitcoin has still value even when it drops to $1000 I think it will be the best time for me to buy and hoard some coins because it has still a chance.
It depends on why the price went down to $1k because that's going to be important for deciding whether to invest or not. If it's an external black swan event then I'll be happily buying that dip.

If somehow the demand for Bitcoin is no longer there, it's probably a better idea to not touch it. This applies to all coins, because whenever there is no more demand, all they do is trend down for years non stop.
80  Economy / Economics / Re: The US & China Trade War is Nothing, Worry About Business and Bank Failures on: December 10, 2019, 08:13:23 PM
Besides, America is a very rich country, only internal war makes them scared. I think China should give in and give up the idea that it is the most developed country in the world after 10 years. That statement only brought trouble to them.
China shouldn't give up. I welcome any country to stand up against the USA, but unfortunately, we only have China being capable of that, so let's hope they will not bow to the USA like most other countries do.

I can agree that it unnecessarily affects the average person and the wider economy, but that's something we have to accept. We have no influence over whatever countries do in order to outcompete each other.
