LOL fucking whales/traders always dump on news.  Dev good news today and price already go from 2500 back to 1900! wth??  I'm sure this is just small break before true breakout.  Cool Wink

Anyway, thank you for such dumps as I collect some more, looking fwd to 10k+ ARDR sooner or later Cheesy

A long time ago, I used to hate the way whales operate. Today I don't mind at all. They dump, I buy. Trick is to pick the good projects...
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: January 28, 2017, 05:00:37 PM
Food for thought:

"Gold Has No Intrinsic Value

Other than the value that humans ascribe to it, the shiny metal has no intrinsic value. Historically, gold has been used as a currency and a store of value because it does not corrode. But that was centuries ago. In the digital age, gold is no longer relevant as a monetary holder of value. Today wealth is stored as bits and bytes - when was the last time you had more than $1,000 cash in your pocket? It's all plastic and code and passwords. New currencies such as bitcoin are much more attuned to the needs of our digital age, and will eventually replace gold as a hedge against political and economic uncertainty." -SNIP-

It would appear a good time for crypto gold to fill the comming void. Here's the link to the rest of the article:

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 28, 2017, 01:55:17 AM
Yeah of course I was saying bank wire and direct deposit is best. But Chase bank for example doesn't allow other people to put cash in your account... its totally ridiculous. Paypal I was saying you have to tell them to alert the moderators that they will not reverse or dispute it and the service was rendered. Maybe "gift" is also possible. You could also hold their payment for 30-60 days but thats pretty brutal.

Also no, 3d printers are not even close to making electronics yet. But that is the goal humanity should set to decentralize manufacturing and open sourcing technology to get off the grid once and for all.

I'm right up there on your soapbox with you David, gov't is the "new root of all evil"

"Anyway we need to replace paypal eventually with BAY so it's not a big deal." And that my friends is THE goal and not that far fetched any more!

And lastly, 3D printing of electronic components is happening now. Basically connectors and film caps and such but getting better. Here's one of many promising technologies:

Nothing stays still for very long these days!

How excited are you guys? I'm losing my mind over here.

Not quite at that level but, checking the forum multiple times per day! Grin
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 27, 2017, 09:38:09 PM
I just hope those that got KMD through swap will not dump on those that invested BTC into the ICO. I will not make this mistake again.

I think it was more or less the same price of enter in Komodo for BTC and BTCD investors because BTC went up 50% when BTCD went down 50%.

It's really not as big a deal as people are making of it. I invested in the ICO and swapped over 1k BTCD and I'm pleased so far. Lets see how the coin does in the wild, I have high hopes...
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 27, 2017, 07:00:47 PM
Yes, I received a newsletter to request for withdrawal on before Jan 31, but inside the newsletter, it was indicated that the wallet is still in beta , where would I send my KMD tokens to then since it is not on any exchange exchange yet or is there away to go about this

This confusion is over the top. Try this:

When you enter your "seed" in the ICO site and request a payout, the following is happening:

1. Your seed is related to a wallet address
2. Your KMD tokens are posted to that address on the KMD blockchain
3. You finally download and install a KMD wallet, doesn't really matter when you do it or, which KMD wallet you choose because:
4. You are going to enter the same seed in the wallet you downloaded hence the same address.
5. Your wallet will see whatever is in that address on the blockchain and there's you KMD, "in" your wallet!

You never really have anything "in" your wallet, for any coin, it's just showing your record on the blockchain attached to your address. It's the blockchain record that is important, not the wallet itself. The wallet does not have to exist for your record, and coins, to exist since they are within the blockchain, not your wallet. The key is the address provided by the seed that makes a wallet yours.

Look at your wallet like a text editor, it contains nothing until you open a file. Then, you can edit the file and save it and close the editor. The editor is nothing without the data that is in the file, simply a means to edit and save the data.

67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 26, 2017, 11:50:28 PM

And by the way. I don't have the hard wallet yet. No problem with the "request Payout"?

The transaction is added to the blockchain using your already created KMD address from the ICO page. When you download and startup a wallet using that address, your funds will appear. Someone correct me if there is an error in this...
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 26, 2017, 11:47:19 PM
Get your KMD with the new "Request Payout" feature! Deadline is 31.01 or else you'll miss the first payout!

Done!

Done as well, that was easy!
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful of Trojan.Coinbitclip on: January 26, 2017, 01:59:20 PM
Trojan.Coinbitclip changes the address to almost the same address that you copy in the clipboard when you ctrl+c. My antivirus Bitdefender did not detect it and lost some money. I usually check the 1st 4 and last 4 of an address, and it changed a few numbers in the middle. Just warning you guys to read the whole address before sending.
Do you have any idea where did you catch it? It is spreading mainly by mail, websites, pirated files, also if what antivirus is good against it?
Is there any online service, scanner of some sort I can use to screen my PC?

The only thing I can tell you is no matter which anti virus product you use, some bad stuff will find a way through. Always look closely at the address you are about to paste into the send box and verify it's the same one you copied. This particular infection is a root kit, very difficult to detect. Sorry I can't help you more...
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful of Trojan.Coinbitclip on: January 26, 2017, 02:59:17 AM
As far as I know it is next to impossible to change an address to something that is almost the same as the address you are trying to send to.

The addresses are generated from a private key, so unless they can calculate a gazillion of them to get that close match to your address, it will just be a random one.

People are taking days to get vanity addresses that they want, if it was possible to almost match addresses, they would take milliseconds to find what they want and it would also be very easy to crack into wallets.

Nevertheless, you should always be wary of these trojans and find a way to avoid contracting one on your system.

EDIT: Or do you mean it just changes the address to mess with you and not actually send it to the distributor of the trojan?

As of now the money is just sitting there on the address, unmoved for 1 week or so.

This is what it does from reading about it from different websites, basically a pain in the ass to remove

 "After setting up nice and comfy on your PC, the Trojan begins to automatically look for any BitCoin addresses that are copied by the user. What the Trojan does is it uses a custom database of many third-party BitCoin addresses to replace them with the currently copied address immediately after detection. What is more, the cyber-threat is smart – it uses the BitCoin address in its database closest to the actual one that has been copied to the clipboard."

"Inherits the common Trojan characteristic, manages to steal stored information so as to commit identity fraud for money. Thus an efficient way is in desperate need to stop the vicious deed. However, Trojan.Coinbitclip knows well how anti-virus programs work, so it binds its pivotal components onto system items to avoid automatic removal. Thus manual method is recommended by Spyhunter to remove it. Be noted that Trojan.Coinbitclip injects multiple copies of its own to various directories"

Still alive, still infecting PCs with Windows 7 or older.

Name: Trojan.Coinbitclip

For removal, see: https://malwarefixes.com/threats/trojan-coinbitclip/

This malware takes over the Windows Clibboard functions and replaces addresses you have copied to paste into sends with one of its 10,000 or so address finding one closest to the address you copied so you don't notice the swap. Very dangerous...

It looks nice indeed. There should be more support on bids however, something in the region of 100BTC to mark the breakout.

jak tam? kurs zmalał? urus...? Grin

Actually, SYS is looking very good in the long run...

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 25, 2017, 01:23:40 AM
About the Peg: I'm not a big supporter I must admit. The idea of having something set in terms of value doesn't excite me. I would personally wait fro a much better recognition of the whole project before thinking of that.
Just thinking

The peg is rolling it's not set in value, it can go up and down, holders of Bitbay vote on supply. The difference is it can go to whatever price we want and hold a fixed peg when we want

Yeah it can still fluctuate!
So for example, 1,2,3,4,5,etc., months after the 'rolling' peg is implemented, there is no telling where the price will be for BitBay.
And users will be able to vote (decentralized) on how they wish to protect their investment. It's only natural that they will be voting in favor of keeping system stabilized OR for hope of potential growth!

Trust me! Karartma1

This is going to be a good thing. And is going to work great along side bitcoin.
It's going to be simple and yet elaborate.
If you want to be as simple as buy low, sell high - you still can!
However for the sake of day traders, the option of the complexity available will literally make it the most exciting trading process they have ever encountered before!

You don't have me on that but that is my humble perspective from a pure economic side. However, I'm totally in line with everything else which I love.
I'm not a day trader, I simply buy stakes in what I believe are the most viable alternatives of my beloved BTC.
We don't have to agree on everything here  Wink Wink Wink

Yeah some people love laissez-faire capitalism. This system is definitely controlled by a set of new rule. But it is still very much a free for all.

And yeah so I can see how you don't agree. It's probably just a matter of taste. I'm personally really looking forward to finishing it.

As are most of us. It will be interesting to say the least to watch this work in real time.

Incorrect. YOU may not care, which is fine, but, many of us do so, speak for yourself please.

effectstocause, thanks for the updated roadmap.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: January 23, 2017, 05:25:10 PM
Is there anyone still developing the coin?
Noone has reached out to me so no

@sidhujag:  I wanted to suggest you actually, as I know you have worked on DVC in the past & so are familiar with it's workings, but figured you were too busy with SYS. Would you be interested - if you had the time?
If i had time sure but not sure when that would be though

The promise of a promise is better than nothing!

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔹🅰RK🔹[ANN][ARK] A Platform for Consumer Adoption with SmartBridge🔹 on: January 23, 2017, 05:01:15 PM
is thats true about postpone its sad to hear it, can devs say more specific what of that is true?
dont wanna wait more for mainnet and exchanges:/

Yes sadly that part is true.  We are delaying a bit to work out some things that were discovered in the legacy code but the thing about us not having any exchanges is false.

We will be listed at well known exchanges at launch and will have details on an upcoming partnership soon with another well known project.

Stay Tuned.
If mainnet will be launched at the end of February, meaning the case ARK will be traded in the month of March, Is it true that I am thinking about it will happen ??

Yes, as soon as ARK launches, you should have a places to trade at.

The project is  disappointing. The team doesn't keep the promises. Delays, problems.... but this is developers' problem  and not investors'. So we won't wait for anything good any more. The discharge of the price is guaranteed.

the level of patience some of you have is disappointing.

hello cannabanana,
how to claim my signature bounty &sweepstakes
thx in advance

For sweepstakes send an email from winning email you participated with to winners (at) ark.io

For signature send your TEC email to bitcointalk user : ArkEcosystem

This have been asking again and again with answered almost every pages, I myself just don't understand how these people survive with this kind of ignorance or just plan dumb.

It is quite annoying.

Is there a current list of nodes? The wallet doesn't want to find the network today...

We had a seed node down earlier today. You should be okay now by restarting your client.

Got it, thx. All is well, fully synced now...

Is there a current list of nodes? The wallet doesn't want to find the network today...

Here's a list of nodes my daemon is connected to:

Code:
addnode=77.67.46.103:8121
addnode=80.86.85.65:8121
addnode=98.115.147.74:8121
addnode=95.46.99.96:8121
addnode=85.187.202.15:8121
addnode=78.66.83.88:8121
addnode=5.9.48.68:8121
addnode=173.254.231.193:8121
addnode=107.191.101.134:8121
addnode=104.172.24.79:8121
addnode=107.161.23.121:8121
addnode=149.202.121.129:8121

However, I'm having problems with the daemon temorarily locking up & I seem to be missing payments from my own p2pool node - I've observed other p2pool nodes having the same problem at exactly the same time also - not sure if it's related or weather it's a daemon problem or a p2pool problem but it seems very unstable.

Thanks for the info...

Mainnet won't launch in February as promised. Launch postponed until further notice

Bounty won't be distributed via TEC but manually and upon request

So far no exchanges has agreed to trade, not until mainnet is launched and a valid wallet is compiled

I will leak news as they become available. Stay tuned

LoL  Feb. March, whatever. We can wait...
