61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: July 24, 2023, 02:08:56 PM
This is a very strange, I've been reading and seeing news about them and still can't really figure out what the situation is in that country. The crime rate is so high, it looks like it's prestigious to be a criminal in their society.
El Salvador is a small country with 6.5 million people. At first I thought like he implemented bitcoin because some gangs pushed him to do so, I couldn't really imagine if one can become a president in such a country, control the police and fights gangs but then it become publicly known that he uses cruel methods against gangsters and criminals, statistics also shows that crime rate is going down and things are improving.
This country looks interesting, it looks even more interesting to see how will the situation change in El Salvador in 2030. Will criminals be able to change the situation or will Nayib Bukele be able to remain president of that country? It's very hard to fight criminals.

you have to take into account the beginning press campaign against Bukele re-election. This campaign is now on.
International press and media have begun to write violent attacks against him.
Meanwhile the origin appears evident, as it parallels precisely previous campaigns of us descent.
In my daily newspaper there is such an attack on a big paper today. I am not salvadoran and cannot precisely judge what is written.

However there is a fact: bitcoin is not even mentioned once in the story !!!
so for me its clear...

....beginning with a never-discussing support here.

Lol so true, support here just publish these robotic posts without interacting neither once with users asking questions or looking for explanations.

They have announced that this thread will only be for announcement posting from now on. If you want support, go to https://wx.network and click on the overlaid support button on the lower right, ta-da!
or indicate us the proper thread where waves are discussed.

The main forum is here: https://forum.waves.tech/
You may still discuss Waves here, but Waves support is no longer active in this forum [thread].

OK, i usually work on bitcointalk.
it is generally sufficient for a lot of things, will not go elsewhere..

do not mix the salads together..

admittedly support is for practical help to users, commercial advertisement has its proper media, announcement is an information thread with discussion.

or indicate us the proper thread where waves are discussed.

What's the latest roadmap for Waves? I know this an OG coin but seems lack of development

i would not say that.
rather an obscure agitation that outside spectators are not able to fully understand.
some crypto projects have been designed to bring progressively the investor to get lost: i would not say that here, but the result is about the same.

67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: July 13, 2023, 11:13:28 PM
I think Elon Musk can fit in both worlds because we know that Elon is popular in both topics, whether it is crypto or tech company, While Tesla and SpaceX are just a part of Elon Musk's Bigger real-world empire of technologically advance businesses because of that IMO, Elon can be fit anywhere because of his popularity. he is capable to hype anything and put the topic on the mainstream that was the power of popularity and money and Elon Musk has possessed both.

Yeah, I believe Elon is for crypto for both aforementioned reasons.
He is the biggest tech millionaire right now,  all his companies are tech companies that focus on technological innovation in specific areas so it would be a surprise if a person like that who is relatively young is against crypto.
Also, Elon is a billionaire,  these guys don't do anything like this that is not a calculated move.  The way I see it,  it's a win-win situation for him.  He has become very popular in the crypto community and that also puts his companies in the spotlight too.

I believe Elon Musk is going to be at the top for a very long time because he understands the market and trends and knows exactly how to be dynamic to fit in perfectly and remain at the top.

Elon Musk always manages to be on the agenda with his many moves. The whole world sees his connection to crypto and what he is doing. He never gives up on crypto and continues to be interested in crypto. Because technology is what makes him a billionaire. Bitcoin is the most valuable product of the technological age. We cannot separate these two.

I'm not sure he did what he did just to strengthen his own companies. But I know Elon loves crypto. I just don't think it looks like he likes crypto for his companies.

Don't forget that he is one of the founders of PAYPAL. This was before Tesla.

Every Spot ETF in USA is naming Coinbase their custodian, but they only have 446k #bitcoin . This will be fun

all this story is very curious.
what is behind ?

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has said that the wave of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) applications filed this month are inadequate, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

https://fr.investing.com/news/cryptocurrency-news/bitcoin-senvole-alors-que-blackrock-et-fidelity-boostent-le-sentiment-objectif-30k-2186037

With all this catastrophic litigation against Binance and Coinbase and a legal battle against Greyscale by none other than the SEC, two asset managers Blackrock and Fidelity are applying for their own Bitcoin ETFs. (Source).

BlackRock manages ~8.1 trillion dollars worth of assets and a Fidelity manages ~4.2 trillion. Fidelity also wants to buy out Greyscale, who themselves would be in big financial trouble if these ETFs get approved - and they very much look likely to be, because these managers have a good record of getting their ETFs approved.

For reference, the entire crypto market cap is around ~1 trillion dollars (also from Reddit).

https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/06/21/bitcoin-price-spikes-to-138k-on-binanceus/

I wonder how the SEC will react to the application of mastodon BlackRock, which has applied to launch a spot bitcoin ETF, if we take into account that BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager company for about $10 trillion.

https://twitter.com/EricBalchunas/status/1669691447996456963

I was going to open a thread on this.
Actually, the filing from Blackrock has little to no innovation compared to those already rejected.
Sure, they are a prominent player in the space and are proposing the same plumbing that has been approved for other EFT (SPDR; for example, has the exact same logic).
Yet I find it difficult to think they will have their filing approved unless something really changes in the SEC.

according to the post of ivomm on 178336,
in the case of blackrock success, GBTC would probably greatly benefit

https://medium.com/breez-technology/bitcoin-is-unbreakable-much-ado-about-ordinals-inscriptions-and-brc-20-32ca34f59475

cette discussion me semble importante.

quant à l IA le combat me parait perdu d 'avance.
