61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins With an Actual Working Product on: October 01, 2019, 02:26:21 AM
If you came to see a list you're not going to.. yet.

I am looking for input on various altcoins that actually have a working product. No vaporware or promised products. Only altcoins that have something working RIGHT NOW.

Please leave some comments with what you know of but be sure to link to something with substance in your post. Proof of a working product or service that is actual being used. No prototypes, no pilots, etc. This will be turned in to a nice list once more information is gathered. Doing some searching myself at the moment.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good news form North Korea on: September 30, 2019, 06:49:34 PM
North Korea has become very interested in creating its own cryptocurrency and has a sufficient level of competence to move forward with this plan, But that's not all. On Sept. 10, Cao de Benos tweeted that the North Korean authorities have allowed citizens to own cryptocurrencies, and local developers “are designing crypto wallets and other related apps right now.

What's good news about this? There's nothing to believe if reported by state owned media. The situation is so dire that they don't need cryptocurrency. They need food and other basic necessities of life.

The idea of north Korean citizens being able to purchase crypto is a joke. It doesn't save them from the fact that they're living in the largest prison on earth. They could participate in existing markets if:

1) they actually had any money to purchase

2) they weren't living behind one of the largest firewalls in the world

If anything the north Korean government will twist this adaptation of crypto to become another tracking tool and social weapon against their already horrifically oppressed population.

Interesting perspective. This applies in a lot of situations but I don't believe attractive people have cart blanche simply because of genetics.

You can relate charisma in a similar sense. Many charismatic idiots get to positions they shouldn't reach while superior managers/intellectuals/whomever can't properly express or convey the ideas in their heads.

In a social sense beauty is a clear advantage but is there data correlating beauty with economic advantages? I've seen firsthand more attractive people get a position over someone who looks.. stinky and this definitely applies when considering a customer facing job role. But is there an actual pay gap?

Ageism (if that's even a word) has the same effect to a degree. I have superior skills over several of my colleagues but because they are my senior they're paid higher even though they output less.
64  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What to do about people who believe that stealing is ok on: September 30, 2019, 02:28:20 PM
@Elwar

In the countries and cultures that are nonchalant about theft, are the penalties the same? For example in the US retail theft is pretty much a guaranteed misdemeanor charge and if the item stolen is over $200 (I think) in value the crime actually becomes larceny.

I'd be interested to know if in the areas of the world where theft is more commonplace are the penalties less harsh.

I'm against theft in any form regardless of the circumstances. A lot of the time, but not always, if the situation is life or death i.e. needing food to survive there are people that are willing to help that don't need to be stolen from. There are a lot of examples of that in the news here in the US or situations where someone did steal food to survive and the shop owner or grocery store or even the arresting officer ends up purchasing the food or giving it to the needy person for free.

I'm also against government intervention in just about anything but a basic security structure for citizens certainly makes maintaining a peaceful civilization easier. I'd imagine everyone having barbed wire fencing and private security guards for all of their belongings is not an ideal society.
65  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you really think U.S. government worries about drugs? on: September 29, 2019, 07:05:33 PM
Banks are the biggest criminals when it comes to moving drugs and drug money. Look at HSBC and Wachovia. They get a slap on the wrist while Ross Ulbricht sits in prison for the rest of his life for giving people the freedom to buy whatever they please.

I'm in favor legalizing all banned substances. Let people do what they want with their bodies and suffer whatever consequences may come. BUT the moment you hurt, steal, kill someone because of a drug related need then the penalties become 10x stiffer than they are now. Give people freedom, punish them severely for abusing it.

My tasers are for tobacco use only   Roll Eyes
Wait! Are we talking about the same thing here? Tasers aka stun guns?

...

What are tasers for tobacco?

In the USA there are many state and local level ordinances banning the sale of marijuana pipes and other paraphernalia. Businesses get around these restrictions by selling these items "for tobacco use only", as a result it has kind of turned into a joke over time. Similarly they get away with selling things like crack pipes in some areas by including a tiny plastic rose in a glass tube and pretending people are buying it for the fake flower and the tube is just packaging.

Bingo on the tobacco use only joke. I'm glad this post actually started a lively discussion on some of these rules.

@Pmalek

They aren't projectile tasers with hook. They are contact tasers with two nodes on them. Hand to hand defense weapon. There are regular old rectangular taser boxes and a few others. One looks like an iphone, another a stick of lipstick. Most of what I have are actual working flashlights that just so happen to be able to stun the hell out of someone at the same time.
67  Other / Meta / Re: Question About Item Listings in Goods on: September 28, 2019, 03:11:34 PM
No one has to give a fuck about your opinion.
You are absolutely right. Even though we might have different opinions on that particular subject I think we can both agree we wouldn't want to see a 'This Domain Has Been Seized' notification with an FBI logo in the background.

I assure you "the wrong kind of prying eyes" have plenty of other more interesting stuff to look at around here.
Not sure if they wouldn't be interested in weapons and marijuana sellers/buyers as well and the origin of them.

Whoa nobody said anything about selling banned substances. My tasers are for tobacco use only   Roll Eyes

I'm going to have to go with TECSHARE on this one. The prying eyes are already here and I'd assume have much bigger fish to fry. I don't have anything for sale that would "Ross" this forum.

I did notice someone claiming to be selling CVVs the other day. That's going to draw some scrutiny. Post was reported.
68  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Must StandUp - no escape from idiocracy on: September 28, 2019, 02:50:17 AM
Shit was fine under Obama's term, then Trump come into office and brought the idiots with him. Things will get better when a Democrat's back in office.

Can you elaborate a bit on the "shit was fine"?

What exactly was fine at the time? Perhaps your idea that things were fine is a direct symptom of MSM manipulation. I mean yeah if the press is jerking off Obama and his cabinet every day then obviously the standard citizen sees the happy news they want.

Are you one of those people that thinks the "ok" hand gesture is a sign of white supremacy?

Because something appears to be ok on the outside doesn't mean it's being handled internally. Obama's terms were more of a "yeah we painted the outside of the car, looks great. Meanwhile things are rusting off inside, frame is now cracked, fluids not changed, hoses and vacuum lines are rotting, but hey look how shiny the exterior is!"

Who wants "fine" anyway. We are supposed to progress as a species. Go further. explore space. Find meaning in our existence. Not worry about people with hurt feelings pissing and shitting in the other sexes bathroom. That is not a proper example of human progress. If actual progress requires turbulence then so be it.
69  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is in mind of those, who against vaccination? on: September 28, 2019, 02:16:40 AM
I've about reached my limit with these debates. Not on this forum particularly but in general. Every day life. Any piece of anti-vax "evidence" can be countered.

A classic example is the fear of *drumroll* MERCURY!

People who don't understand chemistry lose their minds over this. I like to bring up the old "Sodium is highly explosive and dangerous in water. Chlorine is a toxic gas that can kill a human quickly. Combine the two? Harmless table salt"

Just because a chemical has a scary name does not mean it's a dangerous compound.

While I feel anti-vax arguments are foolish and ill-informed I do have an internal conflict on this subject. I don't think world governments should be able to mandate vaccines upon their citizens. You're not required to consume water by the government, but logic tells you it's a good thing, don't be an idiot, drink it. Right? The only middle ground I can find in myself is that if you choose not to vaccinate your children then they should not be allowed in to the public school system. Private schools can set policies at their own discretion.

Even IF you want to argue there is some minuscule chance a vaccine can cause harm it's a weak argument by all accounts. The benefits of vaccinations far outweigh the potential negatives and side effects. Imagine being someone who thinks "wow, I would never want my child to be autistic. I'd rather see them suffer a slow painful death from a disease science has made totally optional and preventable at this point in history."
70  Economy / Services / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel] on: September 28, 2019, 01:50:45 AM
Is there a form to know if one is accepted into the campaign or not?

Just look at the rules on the first page of this thread.

★☆★ Rules ★☆★

Poor quality and unconstructive posts will not be tolerated on this campaign. You don't need to write an essay with each post but one word replies in spammy off topic threads or streams of constant half-assed one liners will immediately get you removed. Please just put some effort in to your posts and you'll be fine.

Users with negative feedback from Default Trust users will be reviewed and removed at my discretion

You're accepted by default as long as you are one of the required ranks and don't violate the terms. yahoo62278 is moderating the campaign to remove spam and various forms of cheating. All the payment stuff is done on Yobit's end. Check your account on Yobit after some time and if you've posted you'll start to see the statistics show up there. It's updated every 3-4 hours.

So the short version of this answer is "no" there is no way to check other than what I've just described.
71  Economy / Services / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel] on: September 28, 2019, 12:49:31 AM
Just wanted to verify that just claimed (and received!)my first payment on my yobit account. 0.00132 sweet btc for 11 posts. Thanks!
Lucky you. At the moment, I do not like how the calculations are done. For September 26, I did not receive anything at all, but we will write this to the fact that yahoo officially created the topic on the 27th. But for the 27-28th number, only 4 posts counted me, and I wrote several times more. I would like more transparency.

I think the problem for you is your new day does not line up with Yobit time. Just observing I think their day flips at UTC 2200? Maybe I'm wrong. What I can say is that it's definitely not based on your local time.

Maybe yahoo62278 can give more details on that.
72  Other / Meta / Re: Question About Item Listings in Goods on: September 27, 2019, 09:54:38 PM
And both parties involved in the sale would also have to show their license and prove they are from a jurisdiction that permits it's sale.

Prove it to who? A mod? I don't think so..

Listen to TECSHARE and OgNasty.. I think you're fine..

in my opinion tasers should be a prohibited item.

Why would you want tasers prohibited?

I'll take the words of wisdom. Thank you. Have a bunch of expandable batons and machetes to unload too. You know, normal human goods  Roll Eyes oh and lifestraws. Maybe I'll stick it in one large sale post.
73  Other / Meta / Re: Question About Item Listings in Goods on: September 27, 2019, 09:47:24 PM
@TECSHARE
@OgNasty

Thanks for the input on this. All good information. I'll round 'em all up, get some good pictures, and go from there with it.

I wouldn't try a gun on here myself. Seems like you'd be asking for trouble doing that. To each his own though   Wink definitely support the freedom to do whatever the hell you want with your own property.

Every gun seller I have seen on this forum is obeying both state and federal laws requiring firearms be transferred to a federally licensed gun dealer per regulatory requirements. There is no reason they would be inviting trouble because they accept Bitcoin as payment as long as the law is being followed. I should add too, I have seen tasers for sale here in the past on multiple occasions, and there were no issues.

It makes sense.. as far as freedom and freedom of speech goes this is still a significantly better alternative to many major websites like ZuccBook. Just wanted to clarify some of those rules before I post something that gets me a ban.

I'm pretty sure you can't even list guns on ZuccBook. Same way Google no longer shows firearms in search results.

Edit - google shopping I should say. Who uses it anyway
74  Economy / Services / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel] on: September 27, 2019, 08:48:21 PM
Glad to see this being moderated for once. Do it the right way Yobit! I have not posted much here recently but was sweating it a little waiting for a mass ban to come because of a few bad eggs. Or maybe more than a few.

Though I have not posted frequently in months I'm a constant window shopper here. This does give me the incentive to put my opinion in and spend some more time here. Also gives me a reason to start selling here as I've got more than enough random items I want to let go of.

I highly doubt there would be an official stance on the matter, the moderators would have to use their own discretion to decide whether or not to permit it.
And both parties involved in the sale would also have to show their license and prove they are from a jurisdiction that permits it's sale.

When you phrase it that way it probably isn't worth it. While they are legal where I live there is no license required, so I'd have no proof of that which is a bit of a double edged sword in this case.

Maybe I'll search elsewhere and sell them in bulk to one someone who meets the qualifications.

On that note is there an actual list of prohibited items listed somewhere on the forum or is it more of an apply-common-sense situation?
77  Other / Meta / Re: Question About Item Listings in Goods on: September 27, 2019, 04:19:28 PM
Good to see the new topic here. It was me who advised you in the Goods section to move the topic here. Anyway, as I said in the other post, in my opinion tasers should be a prohibited item. I think one needs a license before buying such items.

Thanks again for pointing me here. Perhaps I'll get the answer I need. It's really not a big deal if it's a no. Just trying to ditch them since all they're doing now is collecting dust. I guess it was stupid of me to end up with 20+ tasers in the first place.

If it's prohibited life goes on  Smiley

Edit: I'm sure this has been addressed at some point in the history of this forum if I dig enough..
78  Other / Meta / Question About Item Listings in Goods on: September 27, 2019, 04:04:30 PM
Are tasers a prohibited item?

They would be sold only to buyers that live in a jurisdiction where they're legal. It was recommended I post this question here instead of the goods board.

Thanks in advance for any info!
79  Economy / Goods / Re: Question Before I List... tasers not acceptable here? on: September 27, 2019, 04:02:54 PM
^^
I think you can address this in the Meta section since it seems like this is a forum rule related question. In the Meta section you will basically find global moderators and theymos most of the time hang up.

My feeling is that it should be a prohibited item.

Thank you. Will post there. I agree some may not like the idea. More of a defense item than an offensive weapon. Of course this would only be sold to buyers that are in a jurisdiction where these things are legal.

Going to lock this one up. Thanks again!!
80  Economy / Goods / Question Before I List... tasers not acceptable here? on: September 27, 2019, 03:28:51 PM
As the title says. Want to list but don't see any rule specifying one way or the other.

Would tasers be considered a prohibited item to list? I have various types to sell, flashlights, fake cell phones, regular old rectangular tasers.

Thanks for the help
