61  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 05, 2013, 07:16:23 PM
Finally getting a Batch 3 unit.  Smiley  This is my first unit.

I have a few 1100w Server power supplies laying around...

I checked the Wiki here https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon#Power and found no reference to what specific Voltages the Avalon unit needs?

Is it Just 12v?  or does it need 5v and 3.3v that the standard ATX supply outputs?

Thanks for the assistance!

just connect the pcie, cpu and atx plug

I ask only because the Server supplies only output 12v.  I would have to make a custom cable.   But if something inside the Avalon unit needs 5v or 3.3v I will just buy a standard ATX supply.

Avalon 20nm is total BS.   Intel, the MASTERS at wafer fab are only shipping processors at 22nm!!!!   20nm for an amateur like Avalon is at least 2 year away... and even that is optimistic!

Even if they could get a fab that can do 20nm, laying out a chip that runs at 20nm is far beyond Avalon.

70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [HOWTO] flash your jalapeno to 8+ ghs on: July 23, 2013, 02:38:52 AM
Just flash 3 Jalapenos with ckolivas' image.  2 of them are over 9ghs!

My third one is not doing so well.  my hardware error rate is 2x my accepted!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Use the original one released by BFL, the cklovias image greatly relaxes the power on diagnostics for the chips and will disable the ones that aren't working correctly

Thanks.  Ill try that.  I did notice the voltage fluctuating quite a bit....

I have a large quantity on BTC-TC.   Do i need to be moving these to bitfunder?  Last I heard I just need to sit tight and they will be automatically converted.  Is this still the case?

Thanks.

VMC And AMC Are Proud To Announce The "World's Fastest Bitcoin Mining Chip".

SPRINGFIELD, MO, - June 27, 2013 - Active Mining Corporation (AMC) and Virtual Mining

Corporation (VMC) are announcing today the preliminary results from VMC's partner

eASIC (www.easic.com) regarding the performance of the Fast-Hash-ONE Bitcoin mining chip,

built on eASIC's top of the line 28nm technology.

Each chip holds 20 miner cores, with an expected frequency from 800MHz (16GH/s)

to 1GHz (20GH/s). This is possible thanks to eASIC's expertise and AMC's heavily

optimized design, making Fast-Hash-ONE the "World's Fastest Bitcoin Mining Chip".

The chip is expected in limited quantities in Q4 2013 and fully available in Q1 2014

and will be the backbone of AMC's drive to be the "World's Largest Bitcoin Mining

Farm".

See our thread on bitcointalk.org for more information.

Thank you for using BTC-TC

Has anyone called or contacted Kenilworth Exploration to see if this investment is actually sanctioned by them?

All my orders sitting as "Pending Acceptance"

Look for the 'here' link in the email. You will see a dialog box pop up on the BFL website asking you to confirm after you follow the link.

Quite honestly I think thoes at the end of the queue are WAY BETTER off than those of us at the beginning who paid with BTC.   I WILL NEVER RECOUP those BTC!!!

I paid over 300BTC for a Single and a bunch of Jalapenos back in July 2012!!!!

20/20 ?

In 1930 gold was valued at $25 per troy oz.

Would you say the same if btc price now was 1 usd each ? You did not know this was going to happen (btc will be at 150), so it is a no-op.

Didn't you miss buying the GOOG ipo or the AAPL shares 4-5 years back ? Oh man - so much missed profit, right ?

  Roll Eyes

This has nothing to do with USD price of bitcoin...

I paid 300 BTC for them.  Yes they were sold in USD but even if BTC were $1 each, I will most likely not be able to mine the 300BTC I paid for them back in a reasonable amount of time.
