Canaan contact?

Over the last year I have been slowly growing my setup from a single S9 to 4 S9's and an R4.  With the latest rise in altcoins and bitcoin, I decided it was time to take a larger step growing this.  I picked up a couple more S9's (due in August) and decided to diversify (or attempt to) by purchasing 3 A741's.  So last Tuesday I ordered the hardware and they sent me the email with their banking info.  As recommended, I replied and asked to pay in bitcoin.  Nothing for a day, then I was told by Jasmine that Lily would help when he was in.  That was 5 days ago and we have watched bitcoin drop and recover.  Now the 13 hour time zone difference doesn't help but I figure 5 days is patient enough.  Not impressed but I haven't given up yet.

Does anyone have an email contact that I can reach out to and see what the hold up is?  PM me if you don't want to post it here since it is kind of off-topic. Smiley

Thanks,
Rick..

You used a fee of 1000 satoshis/kbyte, instead of 10000 satoshis/kb which is what that accelerator you were talking about uses. I've added your transaction to a different accelerator and it should be confirmed within the next few hours, so you shouldn't have to do anything about it.

If it doesn't get confirmed, follow cedarlug's steps, or read this thread for more solutions and more info.

Thanks DarkStar and cedarlug!

This is what I love about this group. Smiley

Hey folks,
In my quest to consolidate my wallet I appear to have sent out a transaction which has way too low of fees.  In previous tries I was able to use the tx accelerator to "help" it along but this transaction apparently has too low of fees for that. TxID is: 6edbf222792b7bde966623e37981c15827cc07dc51dd70bab653025666e1f76c

Should I just wait (I tried to send it last night) and if so, how long until it is flagged as failed or returned so I can try again with more fees.

For background, I used to just send my payouts from here to my KeepKey wallet but I was finding the txfees to be rather high when I tried to spend the coins.  Bright idea was then to send them to my bitcoin node I have on a headless linux box.  This allowed me to wait until I had a couple hundred mBTC and then send it to my Keepkey wallet.  This meant I had to calculate an appropriate fee and set the bitcoin node to send with it.  It worked fine the last time I did this but I assume this transactions had more inputs or the network is just that much more congested.  Live and learn - I know the coins are there.  Just trying to figure out how long til I can try again. I have been a folder since long before Curecoin or FLDC were invented and will continue to support folding@home regardless of what happens with the coins.  Having said that tho, the coins and the revenue they generate have allowed me to move up into the top 20 folders and even do more to contribute to folding@home.

I too saw this as a buying opportunity and transferred bitcoins to both Poliniex and Bittrex to allow me to take advantage and more than double my holdings of curecoin.  I am in this for the long term and love the opportunity this brings.

thanks wmabern. guess I don't have enough posts yet

Click on the users name (left side of post) and when you look through the user profile info, there is a link near the bottom that says send the person a personal message.

Yeah, you probably need to at least get out of "Newbie" status.

You can PM as a newbie - it splashes this big warning on the PM saying that this is a new account and the recipient should keep that in mind or something like that.
67  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 17, 2017, 06:55:01 PM
So anyone has received S9's FEB/MAR preorder earlier than the specified shipment date?

Mine was supposed to be shipped the 20th and I have a Fedex notice that it is arriving the 17th, so yes. Smiley

I just received and update to my shipping arrival date of Friday the 17th will now be Monday the 20th.
Yeah, mine just updated today as well. Sad  Looks like they might have been a bit optimistic in printing the labels.

Block by canaan!  This is your 85th Kano block and our 2nd of the day!  Cheesy Cheesy

I think that's the fattest block since the halving.  Juicy. Smiley

Sorry, may have confused you a little bit there...

My BTC transaction has been processed/confirmed by the blockchain - I meant on the Bitmain side.  Their process says:

- Your order may expire if Bitmain does not receive payment within one hour. If your payment is submitted on time but receipt is delayed, we will confirm the payment and then update the order to "Valid".

AND

- As soon as your payment is received in full you will receive email confirmation with order delivery details.

Neither of those 2 things has happened at this point, so just curious about others experiences with the Bitmain ordering process.  Hope that makes sense!  Thanks!

Give it some time....24hrs.  It may even say expired....give it time.
I'll second this.  When I bought an R4 from the recent batch, it worked the way I expected. (once my BTC transfer was confirmed, I got the email, etc..).  This time I have nothing, although the payment shows confirmed on my end.  I suspect the holiday is causing different behavior this time.  Only time will tell.

Can someone tell me what the :Hi column means in the invalid detail for a worker?  I have an S7 which is generating over 7% invalids, from whatever the :Hi column means.  I want to figure out if there is anything I can do to the fix it.
It means it's sending truck loads of shares below the required diff it's told by the pool.
e.g. if the pool says to send 2100 diff shares, but your miner is sending 7% of it's shares below that.
It has no effect on your miner but is a waste sending them to the pool to process them.

Probably a bad/crappy/old firmware?

The term Hi is coz that's what they actually are, high hash = low diff.

Edit: also it may have been when it connected to the pool - some of the bitmain firmwares are so brain dead they send low diff shares to the pool when you first connect and ignore what the pool says.
If the total Hi count isn't going up at 7%, then that's probably why.

It appears to have happened when it first connected since the percentage was slowly going down as time passed (it was not an ongoing thing).  That S7 has some problem anyway and has trouble going a week without having to be rebooted (which is why I am replacing it).

Thanks for the info tho - makes sense. Smiley

It is soon getting replaced by an R4 but I am curious to understand what that column means.

Thanks!

My phone crashed and I had to get a new one. However, I can't remember what the 2nd authentication app was called and it didn't update to my new phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I discovered that problem when I switched to an iPhone 7.  On googling the problem I was pointed at Authy, an alternative authenticator app which has been working well for me - and its/your keys are backed up in case you have to reinstall (with all the caveats that your keys are only as safe as your backups).

Upgraded my 2 S9s to v2.  Was a little harrowing to watch the kernel log and try to figure out what was going on.  Seemed to take forever with the first one.  Second one went much faster and the amazing thing was it gained about 1TH.  It had been showing a random smattering of bad asics under the old firmware and they all look good with the new.  I went from about 10.8TH/s to 11.8TH/s so I am impressed.

Now we need to given some time and make sure it is stable.

Note: These were both older, non-autotune batches.

Like most of the newbies here I came for the pool and am hanging around because of the company.  Smiley  I currently have a couple S9s and an S7 at a different host and am spreading my miners around by switching to Avalon and moving them to Labrador. Smiley
76  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL on: November 19, 2016, 11:37:06 PM
I know this is slightly off topic but I suspect with all the Avalon fans here, it might be of interest.

Alan @ CryptoBorneas (sales@cryptoboreas.com) is putting together a group buy for the new A7's.  Obviously this only makes sense if you are interested in hosting with him as well.  I am down for a couple but he needs/wants a buy of 100 to make it happen.  Please feel free to contact him if you are interested.

And apologies if I shouldn't have posted this here - thus the newbie tag by my name.   Cheesy
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Protein Folding Research based Proof of Work on: October 29, 2016, 12:35:57 PM
Hey everyone,
I am a long time folder (12 years) and a pretty long time curecoin fan.  I had originally been holding coins in my bittrex wallet but earlier this year moved to hosting my own wallet on one of my linux servers.  I am trying to understand a few things about the curecoin daemon so hopefully someone can help out.

First off, my current wallet:
Code:
rick@jupiter:~$ curecoind getinfo
{
    "version" : "v0.1.3.2-gc744c10-CUR",
    "protocolversion" : 60006,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 2329.94858700,
    "newmint" : 0.00000000,
    "stake" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 140699,
    "moneysupply" : 23613947.16298400,
    "connections" : 42,
    "proxy" : "",
    "ip" : "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx",
    "difficulty" : 29932073.35529361,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1473559236,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00010000,
    "unlocked_until" : 2473972494,
    "errors" : ""
}
Part of what I am trying to understand is how many coins I actually have.  If I do this:
Code:
rick@jupiter:~$ curecoind listaccounts
{
    "" : 2775.51241100,
    "BFGMiner" : 0.00000000,
    "CryptoBullion" : 0.54911900
}
It shows a different number for the default account.  But if I do this:
Code:
rick@jupiter:~$ curecoind getbalance
2329.94858700
rick@jupiter:~$ curecoind getbalance ""
2775.51241100
Which balance is accurate?  Is this two different accounts?
And I assume this is just showing incoming coins and doesn't count the coins spent:
Code:
rick@jupiter:~$ curecoind listreceivedbyaccount
[
    {
        "account" : "",
        "amount" : 5022.70352500,
        "confirmations" : 46
    },
    {
        "account" : "CryptoBullion",
        "amount" : 792.54911900,
        "confirmations" : 119945
    }
]

I started down this path because I thought I had the coins help long enough to start seeing PoS minting but that doesn't appear to be happening although I certainly have some coins I have held for more than 30 days.

Anyway, if someone familiar with how this is supposed to work, I would appreciate some help.

Thanks!

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT Reserve | Commodity | scrypt² | CPU mining on: September 26, 2016, 10:29:09 PM
Someone can teach me how to mine from 3 different computers in the same wallet , pls note the computers have linux . Is there any option?  Without using a pool I mean . Can I connect miners directly to my wallet?

I have a couple machines mining pointing at the same wallet on a linux box.

First your veriumd server needs a config file with something like this in it:
Code:
addnode=vrmsupernode3.vericoin.info
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcport=36987
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.0.*
The important part is to allow rpc connections from other machines on your local network (the rpcallow=192.168.0.* line).

For my miners, I am using a cpuminer fork and the config(s) looks something like this:
Code:
{
"url" : "http://192.168.0.105:36987/",
"user" : "user",
"pass" : "password",

"algo" : "scrypt",
"threads" : "5",

"quiet" : true

}

Hopefully this will give you what you need to get started.  It works great and I have been doing it since the launch.  Mined about 325 VRM so far.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT Reserve | Commodity | scrypt² | CPU mining on: September 16, 2016, 10:39:59 AM
I have found a mistake on the stratum and i fixed it. Restarting the proxy now, your miners should all reconnect after 30s disconnct time.
Hope it work. I am getting a lot better hashrate on the standalone miner but I can get it to work for solo mining. Guess it doesnt support getwork.
I have been solo mining since the coin launched, using cpuminer and my wallet on linux.  So it works.  It also works with a windows cpuminer client pointing at my wallet on linux so I assume it is just a setup issue.

Feel free to PM me and I can see if I can help figure out why it isn't working for you.

is there a new block mined already ? my wallet is still on #2394

Block 2395 has been mined.  My wallet unstuck after it saw that block.
