61  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC crossed $34K. $40K this week? on: January 07, 2021, 02:13:28 AM
Is it possible that this run is due to the chaos that’s happening in the US right now?

We’re headed to a world where privacy will no longer be legal... 🙄
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP Price Dives After SEC Files Charges on: December 29, 2020, 06:24:38 PM
At the time of creating this thread the XRP price is $0.34 and it is over 30% down in the last 24 hours. The SEC has filed a lawsuit against Ripple and things are going to take a long time to settle because Ripple intend on fighting the allegations in Court.

The market’s response to news about exchanges delisting xrp is instinctive. The lowest price today was somewhere in the 0.18c range but is fighting to pull up as it is now back to 0.22 something. It would be remarkable if they breach a higher price ceiling to win back a portion of the market. Some hodlers believe that the price will rebound sometime in January to Feb 2021 when Ripple Labs settle with the SEC — if they settle with the SEC and when it is clear about the xrp token’s real classification.

Given that they’re distinct from each other (xrp and tesla), both however hold speculative value. Ripple’s chaotic situation at the moment could be brief as it is being likened to how the market responded to Tesla’s stock price that dipped after Elon Musk was accused of fraud by the SEC, but recovered after making a settlement.

If they can settle soon before exchanges delist xrp in January, maybe there’s still hope for xrp - that is, if market trust is regained.

By the way, remember that bit of news about the Fed being actively engaged in research on a digital dollar? The fed is exploring distributed ledger technology and digital currencies. The gov’t now wants to create a digital equivalent of cash with wallets regulated by central banks.

Do you see this as an opportunity for them to quash cryptocurrencies and they’re just starting with xrp?
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think it will be over for Ripple this 2021? on: December 29, 2020, 03:28:18 PM
If exchanges continue to list xrp, they too could get in trouble with the SEC. They’d have to register as securities exchanges if they wish to continue having xrp on their list. And so delisting or suspending is the easiest action exchanges can take to avoid legal troubles witht he SEC.

Selloffs are more likely to continue. I don’t see how they can get out of this now or up to mid 2021 or even beyond that period and save the xrp token.

Until the legal battle with the SEC is over — which I think will probably take long, and if Ripple Labs settle or meet SEC requirements the soonest possible, maybe they can still save (?) xrp. At the moment though, I think that the future’s still bleak for ripple. They’d need the best lawyers who can provide the best argument to pull xrp out of a sinkhole.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think it will be over for Ripple this 2021? on: December 29, 2020, 02:07:13 PM
Exchanges are suspending trade while others are delisting xrp. Most hodlers are in panic. XRP price continues to plunge into abysmal depths. With this scenario, its future looks kinda bleak imo....

Inform the Toacoin CEO, maybe they can make a reboot on this one as the covid19 pandemic will dissipate as vaccine will be available by next year and put up this coin on Uniswap for proper trading.

is it totally dead?

Yes, long time ago already. CEO Exit scammed

More people are opening up to going cashless, thanks to this plandemic. It’s the best time for us to use and take advantage of digital currencies now more than ever. If only someone can reach out to toa coin’s developers, restart this project and put the coins that we’ve kept for so long into good use
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: January 28, 2020, 10:07:43 AM

First someone should buy up all the 1 satoshi TOA for sale, then I'll beleive TOA isn't dead.

I’ll believe that TOA is dead when the blockchain stops updating.... I just wish they’d post updates instead of staying dead quiet  Sad Sad Sad

I would not send my KYC to these people. Simple.

I'm wondering if they are banking on that occurring by most people?

That is precisely what they are banking. It will lessen their workload and it will mean larger payments for the users that did send KYC.

perhaps you meant them keeping everything unclaimed.

haven't checked the exchanges where toa is at until now. seeing the order books crushed my spirit all the more! there are no more buy orders for toa!!! my friends who hold millions of toa coins are gonna have a heart attack. they bought toa at its highest price believing that it's gonna soar. others like me had ours from that pesobit conversion (which to this day, i believe was an unfair conversion since we bought at a very high price as well) -  hoping to just break even when toa dev promised a brighter  Roll Eyes future. this looks more and more like the end

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: June 28, 2019, 04:37:10 AM
everyone is ready to book but the price is zero

it has long been worthless. they said that they were waiting for price to bottom so they can buy them all back and pull prices back up.

the price is now somewhere equal to 0.66 to 0.33 sats or lower. their explorer says a million toa is just about 78 dollars! i didn't care to compute. their excuse is always bitcoin price goes up, toa price goes down. bitcoin price goes down, toa price still goes down. haha. and now they say, wait for them to pull the prices back up. care to share what your plans actually are to keep investors engaged?

Hi, in reply to your question on the recent low price of Toa Coin. The reason that Toa Coin is in the low value it is due to the previous hacking of Cryptopia Exchange. TOA will be losing 130M Toa Coin in the closedown and now TOA needs to collect it back at the bottom price. We truly understand your concern on this issue and also with the extremely low value, but please give us some time to bring it all back-up and make it to a better value.

Please Stay Tune for our following project. Thank You~

it's at the very bottom already - 2 sats. if it weren't for the bitcoin price spiking, toa's value would be - (is already) worthless (has long been worthless, ever since it dipped and never ever spiked since 2017!).

buy back now and rebrand asap. you owe a lot to your investors who believed and held on. you need to stir the community back up. it's so silent here now. where has the toa community gone....

After some scam accusations in the modless official discord channel of toa, its hard to defend TOA as they have taken down the toabooking website without any announcement or indication of duration. this will end in people speculating for exit scams....

Very badly handled by the TOA team....

Huh they have?!? wow, i've been away from this forum a long time.... that is indeed bad. very very bad. i suppose no comeback  Roll Eyes  but their website is still up....and toacoin was (as of yesterday) and still is posting (hopefully), so he should have some explanations prepared.

74  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Litenode - FAKE TEAM on: March 12, 2019, 09:47:22 AM
when you post an ANN topic, the first thing you do to build trust is to introduce legit profiles and post a well thought of introduction of your project. you can't say something like "secret" in your project intro. was interested at first, but just by reading your announcement, you can clearly make out the theme "shady" in it. sorry but even if you straighten out your team's identities with whosoever authority to prove that you're legit, you just lost trust already and word about this spreads faster than litenode....
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: February 09, 2019, 02:00:00 AM
While for the stolen coin matter, it is not causing only from Cryptopia but also the other exchange markets, such as C-CEX. When TOA unlisted from the exchange, the coin did not return to the traders and therefore Toa couldn't know exactly how much volumes stolen by them. Due to that kind of reasons, Toa needs to let it go naturally at the market as low price.

Okay. Thank you for the honest answers, I will perhaps buy back some TOA since price is low; I had always advertised against C-Cex, people should listen to me sometimes.

When I read something about exchange hacks, I usually have the feeling that most of the time some insider is to blame. Hard to prove though in almost all of the cases.

In this case it was me who brought up this word by mistake, "hack", but this is not the case here. Here we are dealing with a dishonest exchange people should never use, C-Cex.

if they won't take that exchange off their signature and website and all their other marketing pages, they're an accomplice to investors' toa coin losses  Angry
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: February 08, 2019, 08:06:13 AM
Hi, to all of your questions above, first of all, we are truly apologies on those that we have missed out, and thanks for your kind patience.

Regarding the TOABooking issue whether or not Toa is going to adjust the price, at this moment it might not be one of the marketing program that TOABooking will do for it, as the initial purpose of building TOABooking is to provide Toa user an online hotel booking platform to book a hotel directly by using Toa Coin without the use of credit card. But, currently, TOABooking indeed running a campaign whereby Toa users book any hotel through TOABooking and share their booking experience in social media, the participant will stand a chance to win FREE 200,000 Toa Coin (Worth 200USD or more) for their next booking.

Go to Binance already and stop promoting mediocre exchanges by driving your investors to trade there. You can start with that signature you're carrying.

Which exchanges did you have problems with again? Delete them from your pages and your signature. It's a fact that the exchanges you've listed aren't safe anymore so why keep it in your signature and website? That way, you don't lure more investors into exchanges where they will lose their coins! Keeping those exchanges or promoting them through your signature and website would only cause more losses and more investors who don't read through forum threads will just keep going to those exchanges and lose their coins.

You should also announce which exchanges lost toa coins so this community with a diminishing population stays informed.

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: February 08, 2019, 12:41:35 AM
To all investors and people who look at Toa Coin. Regarding the recent depreciation of Toa market value, Toa had some stolen stocks dumping issues from Exchanges we listed. Fret not, it is not any our technical faults. But due to that kind of reasons, We need a low price to collect back those lost stocks. We assure investors that it won't be long and Toa Market value will increase sooner or later.

We truly appreciate much for your patients!

list toa on a better exchange. paying five or more lower tiered exchanges will cost you more than pay just about one or two higher-tiered exchange with better security. everyone's coins will be secure, plus this will focus toa trading activity and volume on just that one better and secure exchange so the price will be more stable...

...snip... We need a low price to collect back those lost stocks. ....snip....

We truly appreciate much for your patients!

so the dumping activities are being encouraged so you can get them back really low. how low do you want them? 1 sat? i hope that if it reaches that low, this project won't get abandoned.... plan and play this well, and toa price may rebound; if it goes bad with investors and merchants accepting toa.... i don't want to say anything more. ulcer's getting worse  Lips sealed

Even now you are not transparent with your customers, if only 3 coins were stolen why not bring back all the rest?

The security breach has resulted in some losses and was stopped by taking the site offline and calling in the authorities. Now you are suggesting to put the site back online so potentially the rest can be stolen ? Are you for real ?

Before Christmas Cryptpoia sent out a blanket email stating that they had been hacked by 100+ alt coins (via a 51 % attack) and were closing those markets.  It was at that point that Cryptopia *should* have said they were trading insolvent and should have halted operations because they were unable to cover losses through theft instead telling users to withdraw on a "first come, first served basis".

Here I am on the 16th of December warning people to withdraw their funds: https://twitter.com/Timelord2067/status/1074071116316962816

xtraely and lafu and anyone else claiming to be representatives of Cryptopia definitely aren't because they would have been instructed not to make any statements while a criminal investigation is on going.

Same with the Discord channel, no official representatives would be game to make any statement that could jeopardize the NZ Police's investigation.

So no. Not just three coins that have been hacked.  Cryptopia has been asleep at the wheel for the last six months.

I got my answer here. I guess they were insolvent the moment we all started experiencing delays with our transaction withdrawals.

The security breach has resulted in some losses and was stopped by taking the site offline and calling in the authorities. ... (snipped) ...

Taking the site down for a long time will also result in lost daily revenue. The site's hosting and other monthly expenditures don't all stop when the site is kept in maintenance mode until who knows when, right? Can't the user/s involved have their accounts frozen instead so everyone else can continue trading? After all, any gains resulting from trading of unaffected coins can still contribute to revenue that can pay off cryptopia's expenditures....
