61  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Sito per segnalazioni di Airdrop on: October 17, 2017, 04:49:20 PM
Grandissimo, grazie!
62  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Be part of blockchain research on: October 17, 2017, 04:42:40 PM
Hi Nadine, I filled in the questionnaire.

As I am working in the research field too, I would be interested in the results of your study.
I will send you a PM.
Good luck with your research!
63  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Medicine and cryptocurrency on: October 17, 2017, 04:28:56 PM
In my opinion healthcare is a field which could benefit from blockchain technology.
Imagine you have all your history stored in a shared ledger, where doctors can access using your ID number. They could see if you have any allergy, which is your blood type, etc.

Nonetheless, it could have also some bad repercussions, mainly due to privacy issues. For example, insurance companies could inspect your health before issuing a policy.

You could also take a look to the following projects:
https://dentacoin.com/: blockchain used for dental treatments
https://robomed.io/: smart contracts used to pay for medical treatments
64  Local / Alt-Currencies (Italiano) / Re: cosa ne pensate di queste ico? on: October 13, 2017, 03:29:32 PM

65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious topic: how can we be sure Bitcoin will not be banned by most countries? on: October 11, 2017, 09:54:44 AM
In my opinion, bitcoin will not be banned. Too many banks are investing in blockchain technology. They will spread FUD just to buy them at lower prices, but, at the end, bitcoin will be accepted at a global level.

What I think is that in the next years governments will work on regulating bitcoin exchanges and taxes, and bitcoin will be used daily.
66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC effect on altcoins on: October 11, 2017, 06:20:24 AM
I noticed that most times when btc is rallying almost all of the altcoins dip. and when there is a crash in btc all altcoins suffer as well. my interpretation is that for the first alts can't sustain the price against the $ if btc is high. and for the second, everyone is panic selling btc.
what do yo guys think ??

I agree. When bitcoin price rallies, people are moved by greed and sell their alts for btc. When it drops, panic drives the alt coins selling. I still have to find an altcoin which is negatively correlated with bitcoin price. At the beginning of the year, I remember Ethereum behave like this, but I think that at this time it was due to the ETH vs BTC competition.

thanks for your thoughts guys  I better stay away from this one.

Well done. It's better if you find a good project and invest in it. At the present time, almost all altcoins are red, hence you could buy them for few $.
On the other side, returns could be better, if the project had the ICO only recently.

Any suggestions?

Personally, I invested in Monetha. ICO price was around 16-19 cents, and now is around 10 cents. I am also a supporter of Santiment (which is around ICO price), but this project is a long-term one. I think also IOTA is interesting, from the technical point of view, but I am not sure about the potential growth. You could search in this forum, a lot of people asked for suggestions on altcoins to buy.
And let us know what you decided to buy  Wink
68  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie coming through on: October 10, 2017, 09:59:10 PM
Do you need articles on technical aspects (wallets, exchanges, etc.?) or trading ones?
From your question, it seems you need trading tips.

I would suggest you to learn some technical analysis, first. On the internet you could find several resources, books, etc.
Personally, I like Elliott waves and sentiment analysis (basically, buy when everyone is depressed, sell when there is euphoria).

Youtube is full of people who analyze the most promising coins of the year. I would suggest you to, ok, view the videos, but think with your head. Has the project behind a coin some future or not?

Bear in mind that it is complicated to follow more than 5 coins, as you should monitor them. My suggestion is to start focusing on the top 5, make some paper trading and, when you will have the skills to distinguish if a project is good or not, invest in other altcoins.

Finally, I frequently hear that a newbie should lose at least 50% of his/her funds, at the beginning. I can confirm that it is true. Volatility in crypto is extremely high, and, if you don't have the right mindset, you will risk to sell at loss, just before the market recovers. Hence, before investing, think how you could react in case of huge loss. Would you sell or hold?

These are my 2 cents, but I think the others could have other suggestions for you!

69  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: when do you buy ? on: October 10, 2017, 09:45:53 PM
When eveeyone selling now. Many people changing to btc for btcgold shitcoin. Alts are cheap now. I am buying.

To me the best way would be to buy when everyone is depressed. You should check the sentiment of people on forums, and see if they are selling their coins, blame the team, etc. If you see that the project behind an alt is good, this is the right time to buy.
Check this image, it gives the idea of market cycles https://cdn4.benzinga.com/files/u81483/sentiment_cycle.gif.

Ah, and you could also set some fishing nets, in case you are lucky  Grin
70  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Can we keep any information in the Blockchain? on: October 10, 2017, 09:36:28 PM
Is your question about legal issues or technical ones?
As daserpent wrote, the blockchain is public and immutable, hence you should pay attention not to store private information.

From the technical point of view, the blockchain is replicated on each network node. That means that, in order to store big files, like pictures or audio files, you will need to pay a high fee, as your file will be hosted on all the network nodes.

Some workarounds exist, e.g., IPFS, https://ipfs.io/. In this view, you could store a file on a peer-to-peer network, and save on the blockchain only the hash (the "summary") of the file, e.g. to guarantee the existence of the file at a given time.

Hope this could answer to your question.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Making an ICO as successful as possible.. on: October 10, 2017, 09:29:25 PM
I would suggest, apart from having a good/feasible product and a good team behind the project:
- frequently posting on Medium, bitcointalk updates
- creating Slack channels to answer to potential investors' questions
- carefully preparing a pitch and presenting your idea to blockchain conferences. I have been to one of them and it's amazing the network that you could be able to build.

You could also search for companies which support project during ICO. They help you in every aspect (legal issues, marketing, etc.), even though support has a cost.
72  Local / Alt-Currencies (Italiano) / Re: Compatibilità Myetherwallet on: October 10, 2017, 09:19:56 PM

Provato io, funziona senza problemi Wink

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what happen to all altcoin? on: October 10, 2017, 08:58:24 PM
why all red ?

look like all crpytocurrency is dying except for btc
It is normal, but usually altcoin are down when bitcoin goes up. Another factor is the incoming calls fork. Many are accumulating bitcoin to get more free bitcoin gold.
During the past price pumping, along with bitcoin most altcoins grew higher. This time the price of bitcoin is growing high and only very few alts show signs of price increase. Maybe by the upcoming fork once again the same scenario as the past prevails.

I think until the end of October, people will stay in BTC, or eventually cash in FIAT, should BTC experience a major retracement.
Then, ALTs will gradually recover.
When BTC is down, ALTs are down, when BTC is up, everyone is buying it and ALTs are down. In my opinion, ALTs just need a period of low BTC volatility.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: October 10, 2017, 08:52:15 PM
As long as there is a long-term product, I trust it. but, if it does not exist then I am worried that ICO only makes junk coins. after hardcap succeeded and dev lost with their money.

I agree. In my opinion in order to be successful a ICO should have:
- a good project behind
- a good team, which one could trust and which has the required coding, marketing, etc. competencies
- a reasonable hard cap

Despite this fact, I recently saw several ICOs where tokens, after ICO, underwent a devaluation.
So, now I am evaluating whether it could be more profitable to invest in ICOs, or to wait that they hit the market and putting some fishing nets around 50-60% of ICO price.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you expect a crash soon ? Or you see bitcoin keep climbing ? on: October 10, 2017, 07:27:05 PM
I expect a slight retracement, but in the long term I see bitcoin climbing.
I think that by 2019-2020 it could easily reach 10.000$.
77  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Paper Wallet? on: October 10, 2017, 03:32:08 PM
Paper wallet for ultra longterm storage. (vacuum sealed)

Trezor ore Ledger for all other needs, you will feel very secure with one of those. Copy youre 24 word seed and move them on 2 separated save places.

You can also add a large password on youre Trezor for extra security.

whats the benefits to having it vacuum sealed? and which is better Trezor or ledger?

Both Trezor and Ledger have pros and cons.
Ledger is cheaper, and, when you flip the cover to close it, it protects the screen.
Trezor is a little bit more expensive, but I feel that keys are stronger than the Ledger ones.

I would say, if you are a beginner and do not want to spend a lot, go for Ledger.

Alternatively, you can check on YouTube, it's full of videos which demonstrate their features and the supported tokens.
