I easily won my bet of btc passing 2k by the beginning of March. Now I'm setting up another side bet with the same person on the over under of btc hitting 3k by the end of this month. I have to choose this time because he took the under on the last bet. I'm torn because I'm thinking the under but I would prefer to lose the bet and haveit surpass 3k by end of June
It will go over 3k ... but I would advise the other person to stop betting against going down, because its going up! And you should know that everything under $5k is a dip till the end of this year! $3000 is inching up closer then $5000 = new ceiling

PM-Tech Update:
Basic functionality is running fine in production. The only issue users might have encountered on our pool last night was that mined blocks haven't been updated in the frontend for a while. This wasn't a node issue, I have installed backup instances where one of them is actively communicating with a stratum test instance sending block notifications. When this one got synced, it mixed up the shares in the DB a little, causing MPOS to stop the UI updates (cronjobs). All blocks mined were accounted later on, no issues there. My apologies for discovering that a few hours late.
The performance of the new wallet is slightly (really minimal) worse than the old one. This is caused by the additional block verification steps due to the BIPs deployed using Bitcoin's IsSuperMajority rule, e.g. elevating the block version. Once these BIPs are enforced, we will release a minor update almost immediately, where those rule checks will be replaced by a simple starting block check (similar to how BIP34 is handled nowadays). From then it is expected to outperform the current version.
Initial block download was improved significantly, this will be noticed by new users as well. IBD starts with downloading just the headers from one peer, in parallel the block download is initiated receiving the data from up to eight peer simultaneously, decreasing IBD times from a day now on the old version to a few hours in best case.
Currently I'm in the process of testing the updated multisig functionality which is also supposed to be supported by the Electrum servers. A lot of possibilities are given here in terms of smart contracts, micropayment channels and JoinCoin.
To be continued....
good ... im glad things are starting to make a lot more sense now ... as well as starting to roll along mate ... pool / stratum / db - are all a pain but part of the process ... we will start the pool i initially started mentioning - and compare notes ... that way we can have a couple of pools running IF i can get it all setup and modified ... we unfortunately cant really test the pool - as we have no scrypt miners / asics to test with ... especially when high hash is concerned ... right now though - finishing all the 'real world' stuff and setup ... chat to you back on skype soon ... #crysx just fucking stop you need to talk to varvarin we have more hash power than you can shake a stick at hmmm ... i dunno whether to take what you are saying as a joke - or you are purposely making out to be offensive ... not to mention that what you have written - really doesnt make sense to me ... who on earth are you anyway? ... #crysx EMC2 ===> if you had any idea how big this coin is... 10K easy maybe 100K by 2018 ~ask varvarin you think i dont know? ... being one of the members of the core team - i had better know ... but here is the thing ... unlike you - who rates the coins 'bigness' on price - i ( and we at CWI ) dont ... we rate it on the coins progress - and most of all - the team behind it ... price is consequential ... no matter who you speak to on the team - varvarin included - they will tell you the same thing ... even though some of the older team members have a nice sum in their wallets - and would like to see the price increase - the main purpose of ANYTHING happening here is the growth of the coin - not the price ... so 10k 100k 1m - all consequential ... without the great team and members of the team - the coin is lost ... so - i think i have a better idea of how 'big' the coin is than most others ... except for the other team members of course - who KNOW what i do about it and how much effort and code are going into it currently ... and believe me - there are LOTS of things that we will bring out soon ... ... #crysx PRICE is everything. if we were still 20 satoshis what really is it worth? ..in my world your grand ideologies mean little if you are broke and jobless

I think this dump is from the guy in this thread that predicted 3000 in July. He is trying to save face for his erroneous prediction if it were to happen in June.

TL;DR Seasteading will allow for the decentralizing of nations the same way Bitcoin decentralizes currency.
Cool. Do you know Edan Yago of Epiphyte? While not seasteading specifically, he was working on setting up an independent economic/political 'zone of opportunity' with similar social implications. He spoke at Bitcoin 2013 in San Jose. Maybe more direct is that The Seasteading Institute was also at that conference with a booth. If they had a talk, I did not notice. I spoke with them for a bit. I got one of the reps from their org set up with his first Bitcoin wallet. I do not know of him. Come to find out there are over 1000 special economic zones in the world. It is a good trend. Edan checks out ..he was a early bitcoin fundamentalist

I've been looking into this coin, but I fail to see what this has to offer that isn't already being done.
What will make this project stick and not just fade away into obscurity like most shit coins?
Looking through the pages all I see is talk of price, which makes me think that it will just be a typical pump and dump.
Do you have any evidence to present that could convince me otherwise?
Do note that I am not trying to shit on this project, I think the name and logo and stuff look great, I'm just failing to see a need for this coin and I have to be super sceptical before I even consider putting money into anything.
Do your research ... You will find that it has huge upside potential! Ubq is to eth what Ltc is to Bitcoin ... No pump n dump here! Maybe one of the most underrated alts IMHO this coin is tained by cryptsy ~ they steal peoples coins ... bittrex insiders :\ omg is this real? because i think ubiq is unique coin with eth technology. Please confirm since i invest in this coin. New Bitcointalk account from scammer "gembitz" is "ARTISTCOLONY". Spreading lies and slander. Please block him and report his lies to moderators. *report UBQ(Bittrex gaming) to Hawaiian FinCen? lol ..moving on are you buddies with BitJohn? ===> https://twitter.com/ubiqsmart/status/648969797422575616PROOF THIS SCAM gambling COIN WAS IN FACT LISTED ON CRYPTSY ^^^^^^

If you haven't read it already, here's yesterday's Coindesk article on Litecoin and Lightning Networks: http://www.coindesk.com/cross-blockchain-trades-lightning-gives-new-life-atomic-swaps/Litecoin is now, potentially, the most technologically advanced coin in the crypto-universe with Core developers working on it to deliver full implementations of Lightning, the game-changing 'atomic cross-chain transactions' and other goodies. "Another point to note: now that SegWit has activated on litecoin, users can begin sending test cross-chain transactions from litecoin to the bitcoin testnet."When news of full Lightning implementation breaks it will be too late - the train will have left the station. go buy some coffee ? DOGE/LDOGE (litecoin code) is getting the most litecoin love !!!

So... last time we were here, everyone was talking about the S curve!
Yes, of course, there is an s curve (or at least a real decent possibility of the existence of such). You trying to suggest that an s curve might not exist merely because we are having a correction? We could correct to $1000 and there is still an s curve. We could correct for a year, and there is still an s curve. a correction - especially over a few days, does not negate the very likely existence of an s curve. Now on the other hand, we cannot be 100% sure about the existence of the s curve, and we may need history to help us with that - for example looking back several years or even a decade or more is necessary, sometimes. poloniex "phanthom whales" made famous on old exchange mintpal ... whalebot antics abound defining this epic downturn. lulz

Anyone else having a issue checking stats on http://ubiqpool.io ? it will not load at all for me when I enter my wallet address. Tried two separate computers on different networks I've had issues the past few days with my account only showing a blank page, checked from several rigs but the same problem. My account has shown since this morning though. At the time, I could sort of verify I was mining by seeing that I was getting shares accepted and still receiving payments to my wallet. With the influx of new users and investors, the block explorer has been struggling to keep up. Luke is planning to improve on this in the near future. Unfortunately when it goes down the stats page doesn't work on the pool, and Angel is working on finding a different place to pull pricing from so this is less likely to happen. These are good problems to have though! This means that more users are getting involved. Luke has made some improvements to the block explorer. TLDR is some things weren't optimized too well such as some database lookups. It should all be working better now. malware has been detected here: UBQ/Bitrrex =russian haxxors?hmmm ===> http://www.kitv.com/story/35448829/why-the-massive-cyberattack-wont-make-the-hackers-rich

Still not too late to buy. The correction is over and we're at a stable point. IMO you couldn't pick a much better time unless you could see the future.
Let's do a competition. Who can get banned from the Poloniex trollbox the fastest?

I'm with ya on this one. I frequently vehemently disagree with the sentiments you post. But this has always been a freewheeling thread. With the caveat that I don't know the content of the specific deleted posts, I'm inclined to think moderation has been irrationally exuberant here.
They changed their policy toward this thread. It's meant to be strictly btc price speculation only. Of course, 80% of the posts arguably aren't, so you end up with the dumb "off-topic" rule being applied arbitrarily. I got two posts deleted today, one advising another member about gif size limits and another where I posted the "hell yeah mutherfucker" meme when we broke the resistance point of 800 (killjoys lol). FUCK CENSORSHIP ===> yes fuck you mods. YOU ARE CAUSING THE BITCOIN CRASH?

on the Polo before to add in my opinion, crude and unreasonable risk to bondholders as ditching on the Polo already hard coin will raise. And those who has a coin in an amount of more than billion of those and would kill for the sake of momentary benefits or the developers will try to squeeze the remains in hamsters). Let her drown and now finished his creation, then to raise her from scratch. Разработчики мутят чтото однозначно.

Imo, the biggest problem right now is ETH. It was $8 at the beginning of the year. It's so severely inflated, that if it keeps crashing, it's going to keep taking everything else with it. That's what happens when you let a competitor gain too much market share. It's stupid that I find in order for BTC to hold its price, or continue rising, that requires ETH to hold a 13x inflated price (since the beginning of March).
I agree with you that ETH is severely overinflated, esp when I have the belief that it was never to even intended to be a cryptocurrency in the first place and thus hold any significant value. It's been pre-mined to death, and the float is tiny. But even worse, the ETH fans don't even realize that the mining floor is somewhere down around the single digit dollar area, and troll traders took millions of ETH off exchanges for pennies for the last 2 years in anticipation of running it up to the moon. So any weakness in buying demand, or any flaw/bug found, or any exchange hacked, and ETH will get dumped into the absolute ground. But I disagree that this will affect BTC to the negative or in any way whatsoever. It's completely disconnected. If anything, they'll be trading back into BTC on the way down. ETC is a better bag ~ eth who is eth? lol ETC is ethereum rant off<<<
