It wasn’t my aim to look like a “boss” or something.  Tongue

I don't think it came across as such, just explaining why I couldn't chime in with my opinion. I wish I knew just how easy or difficult it was, but that's not my cup of tea. I'd love to learn and get into it because there is nothing but work ahead for developers and coders. Wish I could help out but I'm pretty useless unless it comes to trying to answer questions about the pool. That much I can help newbies out with, but that is about it for now.

What about giving to users an option to switch between gh and th? It shouldn’t be that hard to develop.  I guess that many users won’t need to see gh values, but it could be nice to the other few to have that option.

This is definitely my favorite option, however I won't say it shouldn't be that hard to develop since I couldn't do it. I'll just hold out hope that DrHaribo can pull out some more magic and allow the users to decide independently on the style they prefer. Either way, I'm not planning on going anywhere. Thanks for the great pool Doc!

I'll eat my daughter's sh*t if it helps us find a block.

I don't know why this is beyond disturbing. Please let us find a block BEFORE Manduul decides to eat his daughter's shit.  Shocked

While I appreciate the work and never want to come off as not appreciative I am hoping there will be an option for the user to switch between seeing Gh/s vs Th/s. Again I always appreciate moving forward and progress on the website, but Gh/s was very nice for me to see where my miners are coming at a nice 5 digit number like 25,789 vs all of my shifts showing 25.

How about showing one digit after the decimal point in the live stats and worker page, like it is on the shifts page? Then it's down to 100 GH/s which is very little today.

I'd say leave that up to feedback from other users. i might be the only one. Thanks for hearing me though! I think one or two digits would be fantastic. Whatever is easiest for you. Ultimately, we're just here to solve those blocks!

Decentralization is great and all but it seems some of the smaller pools need to join forces..  we have slid back down to 40PH
If we could get a couple other small pools to join Kano and get to 100PH that might make things happier for everyone going into 2018.

I rather bring this up now than have people say the same thing in 6 months with 'should of's, could of's' attached to the same ideas.

Letting small pools die slowly hurts everyone involved as probably half go to larger evil pools and less and less of the mining pie stay with the good guys.

You are probably right. If you'll let them know that they are welcome at Kano we'll have a spot waiting for them.

Good thing we jumped on this early!

Dang, Kano pool really really takes some patience Tongue

It's been 12 days, and my ramp is up at 6.10av outta 13.5, so it takes more than 16 days as well Tongue

Definitely agree. Feeling a bit mislead right now as I’m a week in and not even a third of the way. Unless scaling isn’t linear, it’s significantly longer than projected. Quite frustrating combined with no rewards. Stocking this out but it’s not easy to see the light at this point

For those suggesting reading the website for answers, I argue back with: if the website actually did a decent job of explaining, there would be much less question repetition here. It may make sense to people that already know the answe, but to newcomers it is very vague in many regards.

You have to remember that ramp time is influenced by overall pool hashrate, and if your S9 goes down for just a bit it's going to take time to FULLY ramp because you have those zero shifts in there. I started on January 12th and I'm at 12 out of 13.5 for my initial 13.5 Th/s so it was accurate for me. Also, I missed a few shifts in there thanks to having to do the unthinkable and taking my s9's offline. Just hang in there and wait for the blocks to hit. The day that I started was the beginning of a 4 or 5 block party (You are welcome everyone that was fully ramped!  Grin) so it will definitely be worth it when I am fully ramped. The last block we hit I was right around 7Th/s ramped so you are on pace to match the math.

hang in there...MINE ON!

And I'm back. I'm sure I wasn't missed. Decided to take  the opportunity of the blip to do some movement of equipment. Am I the only one who absolutely hates to turn the rigs off for anything? Took me 2 1/2 hours but should be worth it in the long run. They are now officially in my wind tunnel.  Cheesy

Now let find a block!

Hadn´t really thought about the issue of all nodes going dark. Have just changed my 3rd pool to something other than kano, not saying what. Roll Eyes

Hopefully it will get very little use.

Looks like everything is back up now.  I just logged into the website and I was able to reboot one of my miners.

My miners were not disrupted at all. Only HTTP issue with the site.

Yep, miners continued.  But they need to find this block, I just don't like this block for whatever reason.

We all enjoy the dancing, eating chicken memes, but when you get down to it we trust math, and math will prevail.

Mine on. Don't worry. Just mine on.

Math says ... 1 in 4.5

Maybe if I put that spare S9 online ...

Every S9 needs to be on Nazzer! Send it this way and I'll give ya 10% of the proifts every month until you have room for it 24/7! It'll be pointed at KAAAAAAAAANNNNOOOOOOOO.....

73  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: January 26, 2018, 12:52:41 PM
hey all!

I have only been mining for about a month! currently running 4 741s---but have 2 821s coming soon and then 4 s9s coming in march----i began mining with viabtc, as i wanted to start with mining BCH---however, now that profitability has evened out, I am currently mining BTC---which i would have never chosen viabtc pool for mining BTC...

anyhow, for btc pools im looking into slush, kano, and bitminter---i was researching bitminter and stumbled upon this thread----overall how do you guys like it? what do you find your average daily payout is per TH? I understand its a much smaller pool and youre only being paid once blocks are found and completed---whcih can take weeks---what do you find your payout is per TH after waiting 2 weeks for block completion? or even monthly?

Im just weighing my options and trying to figure out more about bitminter, and from the posts im seeing, it seems as though you are all very happy there---i am just curious as to what type of average payouts you all are receiving versus the other pools you are in!

Thank you guys for your help---i look forward to hearing back! cant believe it took me as long as it did to get into mining---it sure is fun/addicting---even with profitability down over the last however long i am still having a blast doing it!

I personally have miners here at Bitminter and at Kano. I'm still waiting on my first block since coming back online in early January (I sold my old units and purchased 4 brand new S9s from BitMain). Once we solve a block I will break down my total Th/s for you over the 10 shifts and give you the payout amount I received which you should be able to break down. Personally I'm happy here, and I'm happy at Kano. Kano has a higher hashrate which theoretically means less time between blocks, but also means less pay per block for you as well.

Welcome to BitMinter and hopefully you give a miner or two a shot in the meantime. Now is a great time to get started with us since this is a long ass block, you could potentially get a full payout on it if it takes us long enough to solve!

Assuming this is accurate on the total network hashing power...

https://btc.com/stats/diff

On 1/10/2017 it was 2.41 Eh/s
On 1/13/2018 it was 15.95 Eh/s (562% gain)
On 1/24/2018 it was 18.63 Eh/s (17% gain in 11 days)

So my question being that I'm concerned how quickly my 40.5 Th/s will even be worth running. As pools grow profits are spread thinner and difficulty rises. Maybe someone who's been doing this longer than me could offer some insight? Truly just looking for some feedback but these numbers kind of startled me.

Edit: I'm not panicking, just looking for solid experience from those who've been doing this a lot longer than I have. I'm still pretty new to this (11/2017).

If you believe in $BTC rising in the next few years, you continue to run the miners.  If you can't afford to because you're constantly selling BTC to pay for upkeep/electricity/hosting, then maybe it's time to move on.   Just my two cents...you can still make bank off selling the s9's.

I'm with Rifleman, I'm sticking with it. I'm running 4 at the moment and I'm hoping to financially hold onto all the BTC I can. If you get in a bind and you need to dump those S9's holler at your boy! I'd even take that janky one that keeps dropping out. (at least we fixed the reboot issue together!)

I really thought that our block find time would go down since we have doubled our hash rate in the last month and a half. I know the difficulty is up but I hoped our hash rate increase would have helped to keep up.

It's a bit discouraging to see your percentage dropping and seeing the block find time going up.

I've been with Bitminter since I started. Fingers crossed that luck will turn our way!!

Trust me, seeing the zeroes hurts. I get it. Seeing the difficulty increase hurts. I feel it too. However, when you get paid, you get PAID! This has been my go to pool for as long as I have been mining (which I assure you isn't very long compared to many). I don't have all my eggs in one basket just for this reason. I have 50% here and 50% at a different PPLNS pool. I'm not encouraging that or claiming one is better than the other, just hoping you understand we all go through the same feelings. Stick around, you'll be glad you did!
