601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DCA, the most convenient way to increase your bitcoin as an investor. on: October 09, 2023, 10:07:35 PM
~

Agree that Dollar cost average is probably the best strategy especially for newbies and beginners since they are starting to accumulate Bitcoin and lowering the risk of their investment just because they dont really invest a huge amount of funds as their investment since they are only investing a very small amount of percentage from there salary or source of income. So it is a calculated risk and you only investing what you can afford to lose, so even though you invested and the market price of Bitcoin dumps it doesnt matter, and you could easily HOLD at that time since it is just a small investment and you could easily gamble it, on long term you could slowly accumulate Bitcoin and after a few years for sure it's going to be a huge amount of investment, which probably going to be a good time since your probably planning to sell at the top or Bull run, so you could easily accumulate and at the same time waiting for the Bullrun easily. It was just like saving or something like paying your insurance monthly so it wouldn't really be a problem for most investors.
602  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: October 08, 2023, 11:21:37 PM
I started to listen to a lot of financial podcasts and It did help me a lot in my finances, It is pretty common to see even though we have a good-paying job but still it isn't enough ever we do about it it feels like we need a higher salary or needed a raise. Time that you have a lower salary you could easily budget that money but now that you have a higher salary it just isn't enough anymore, just because we just tend to let our lifestyle increase as well so that budget increases as well when our salary increases. There was just no limits to our desires and wants, if you already buy something for sure you're gonna want something again, so you just gonna need to balance your want, and always take note of your expenses and budget.

The thing to do here is just dont buy anything that you can't really afford, if you have a salary of 10k$ then dont buy something that is half of that something like that or more that than, if you buy something that is half of that there is some room for you to recover since next month you're going to earn it, but if you're going to buy something that is more than that your life is just going to be difficult. If you really want to buy something budget your salary you that you already have a limit on what you can spend in a month and if you want to increase that find other sources of income.

One of the things that I do to easily invest is I invest probably 40-50% of my income, yes it's a big percentage because why not?
603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency thought me Patience on: October 08, 2023, 10:39:58 PM
During my early days in the crypto industry I struggle to hodl crypto asset because I am naturally impatient person, of a truth I struggle to hodl, I mostly sell my asset at a loss.

One thing I observe is that the moment I sold. it at a loss, not quite long, the crypto asset start appreciating in price .
It got to a point I almost quit, the only thing that makes me not to quit is i believe that quiter are for failures.

Through reading and under going through crypto courses, I became more enlightened which made me hold high value asset like Bitcoin, Entheruem and Bnb.
Now when I think back of my struggle in holding an asset in my early days, I just laugh, because I lost a lot due to impatient.

My advice to every newbie out there, without patience you cannot be successful in crypto.

It wasn't really easy to HODL your Bitcoin or your cryptocurrency since it needs a lot of patience just do it for years, even though you know that Bitcoin is going to skyrocket its price you are probably gonna end up selling your Bitcoin because you want to earn a good money easily. In my experience, the trick in this kind of investment is having multiple sources of income, and saving a good amount of savings, In my early days in cryptocurrency investment, I struggled to hold my investment, and most of the time I sold my investment not at a loss but most of the time just needed the money and needed to sell it. So just having a good amount of savings, insurance, emergency funds something like that you could easily forget about your cryptocurrency investment, Now I have multiple sources of income, one of which I use to invest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and the other income are use and budget for my self and my needs, with that I could easily avoid panic selling when the market is down I can easily hold since I dont really need the money at any time since I have other sources of income so I can endure for years and wait for the Bullrun and make a good profit on it.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I recently convinced my employer to start paying me in BTC, it has been great on: October 08, 2023, 09:55:40 PM
I live in an underdeveloped country, but I work remotely for a fairly good web development agency. We don't have a lot of financial services/wallets here, so we had to go circumvent a lot of obstacles for me the money to get to my local bank account. This whole process took a hefty fee, and time. And the worst part is the currency is absolutely shit and deteriorating (even compared to other fiat currencies),

Recently, I convinced them to start paying me in BTC. I save what I have to save, and convert the rest to fiat via P2P trading. Its so quicker and I get great deals, no more bullshit. I think this has been a great benefit of crypto for underdeveloped nations.

I have been accumulating bitcoin from a long time from my freelance work, but getting paid in it by my regular work feels awesome!

If your employer was good with it then I think it's a good thing but isn't you paying fees on your Bitcoin transactions? I mean bitcoin transactions were kinda cheap at the moment to the honest it's like cents or something so I guess it's a great and convenient thing anyway but there are times when the mempool gets congested making the fees skyrocket For sure that could be a problem in the case with your employer since he's the one paying you Bitcoin, but I guess as long as your employer was good with it it's a good thing in my opinion. I mean it still wasn't perfect since you still gonna need to use your local bank because you need to convert that Bitcoin to fiat money unless you know someone that is willing to buy your Bitcoin personally.

Just avoid using centralized platforms or probably avoid storing large amounts of your cryptocurrency there if you really planning to invest especially for long-term investment just send it to a noncustodial wallet like Electrum. If it really works they might just use it for all of there employees so I think that's a great adaptation that could easily promote Bitcoin as well.

Quote

Ika nga ay " Moneygram is now turning into a global ATM concept gamit ang Blockchain Technology ".

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/money-gram-non-custodial-crypto-wallets-q1-2024

606  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 08, 2023, 02:04:41 PM
Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passive income, work hard is a myths.

Come and debate. Marriage to a spouse quickly establish to a facts that you would provide financially.

But marriage can only happens once in a life, so the gold digger is missing out so much of gain, compare to owning more than one rental property.

I would like to quote this

"First rental property would fund your travel expense
Second rental fund your sport car
Third rental fund your private jet
Fourth rental fund your yacht
Fifth rental fund your private island
... and so on"

Btw boomer get the land for free, you would have to pay for it, which also get their rental from no money down.

As long as your passive income far bigger than your expense, you are free from slavery, you are free from financial problems.

So back to topic, is marriage, notably marry rich a sound advice today? Why having multple sugar daddy seem more appealing to me, one sugar daddy one passive income, two sugar daddy two passive income, 100 sugar daddy 100 passive income, simple maths! Btw I don't want to add crypto into the mix. I don't want to make consideration because it hardly existed more than ten years while marriage and rental has existed for thousands of years.

If you going to marriage for sure you gonna need more funds since you starting a family and that just means soon your gonna have a child and having a child needs a big amount of funds so that you can provide for your child's needs, not to mention since your gonna need to do it on your own and your spouse because you're gonna be apart from your parents so you're not gonna get any support from them anymore.  We are all going to realize how hard life is when we are the ones who need to pay bills, like water, electricity, internet, etc. Even though you feel like you have a good enough job already it's not going to be enough for the most part.

Rental property for sure if one of the most difficult things to achieve since it is just so expensive and could eat up a big percentage of your salary but for sure its going to be necessary since your not living with your parents anymore, there was no cheat that you can do, probably your gonna need to buy your own property first just to avoid renting, so probably what you can do is save a lot of money, invest while you still can and make a lot of sources of your income while your still not marriage.

Sure if we are just talking about finances, maybe the more sugar daddy the more passive income as well, and the more you going to earn, I mean it's gonna work as long as you earn.
607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on getting merits on: October 08, 2023, 10:10:14 AM
Hi guys, I want to ask some tips on getting some merits. I somehow feel jealous when I see other full members having tons of it even if they're just new to the forum. I know that there are some ways to earn it like being active in your local board, engaging in the gambling threads talking about particular sports, create an informational thread, or have some deep knowledge about bitcoin's technical like block size, hash rate, etc. And that's my concern, I am not good with any of those stuffs. I am not a sports enthusiasts nor good in bitcoin technical. Our local board is not that active also compared to others where I see some members' their main merit source.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking my time to read my post. Cheers!  Smiley

I mean there was no guarantee that you were going to get merit even though you did a quality or great post since the merits are given by members, so you dont really need to do anything, to be honest, you just need to continue doing a quality post and go with the flow and dont pressure yourself on getting one, but for sure higher quality has a higher chance of getting merits, so the only thing that you can do is just to increase you post quality something like that.

The best thing to do here just continues your cryptocurrency journey and then you have the forum that could easily help you in any case because we already have a lot of experience members here so they could easily help you, then I best one I think is sharing your experience and knowledge here in the forum, if you learn something you could create a thread here in the forum, the way I see things here in the forum if you share your knowledge and experience here in the forum, most of the time members that do that get more merits in my observation so I think it will work as well if you do that.

Still these wasn't any competition so its always better to chill and dont get pressure by it, if your just active, you going to get merit along the way and rank up for sure.
608  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bunny Loader: Another Clipboard malware on: October 08, 2023, 09:18:50 AM
Interesting, good thing that you posted this one here making a lot of members here in the Forum about this one, It a pretty interesting malware looking for information that is actually related to cryptocurrency, there are for sure some obvious things here like credit cards, download, history, password, autofill data. I mean you would really save something like that on a computer even though it is for sure your personal computer, because of something like this because now if the hacker is able to gain access to your computer they could easily access this information as well where it could easily lead to getting hack and losing your money.

I mean if you actually know what you are doing this hacker cannot really access your computer since this malware needs to run first and if you dont really download anything that is suspicious for sure there was nothing to worry about, so just avoid downloading things that is not really trusted like, for example, your going to download a file from a really suspicious website, or download a file that is sent by an unknown email on your email account or downloading crack games, this files might contain malware, virus, etc. that could easily wipe your cryptocurrency, you could for sure buy a cheap laptop where you're only going to use it for cryptocurrency to avoid this.
609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: October 07, 2023, 11:23:21 PM
I mean it's a good start to probably do a dollar cost average so that you could accumulate Bitcoin over time, I just dont recommend you put your investment into a centralized platform even though it is a popular one because you don't have control over it, you could start to something like electrum, been using it for a long time already and so far it works great as a Bitcoin wallet didn't experience any issue so far so I think it's going to be a good starting wallet if you're looking for a convenient Bitcoin wallet that you could use if you're not planning to buy something like a cold storage wallet.

It's a good thing that you are already here in the forum because this is probably where you could learn a lot about cryptocurrency I wasn't really in on cryptocurrency and because of this forum helps me a lot to understand a lot of things, and we have a lot of experience members here that is going to give you great advice, you could easily post your problems here in the forum or ask for advice here and for sure a lot of members are going to respond to help. Good luck on your cryptocurrency journey mate!
610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 07, 2023, 10:22:00 PM
Hello friends

In our modern society, the fear of being scammed by king pins and other fake platforms has made many people to loose interest in investing bitcoin.
This platform is to enlighten the society that there are real investment platforms and also people earn bitcoins for a living, so they should give it a try and invest so they can also earn and also when it comes to this particular fear I think the environment where one is actually staying also contributes to this fear because just the other I was actually explaining the basic essence of bitcoin to a friend and all he could even think of was that I want to basically scam him of his money of which he doesn’t even know that bitcoin is actually a currency on which people benefit wonderful opportunity like through savings.

I mean it was pretty normal that people think that Bitcoin is a big scam since its all over the news, this cryptocurrency and Bitcoin things are always related and link to a lot of illegal transactions and scam, so normally people are going to think that it is a big scam, If your friend thinking that you are going to scam him, probably your adjust doing it the wrong way because your not telling him to invest on here own and learn how to invest on cryptocurrency, or probably your the one whos want him to invest on you, that's why his having thoughts about it, I mean if your just encouraging him to invest on here own, he cant possible think that your going to scam him since hes just the one doing it, and your just encouraging him to invest on it right.

611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If not for Bitcoin on: October 07, 2023, 10:11:01 PM
When I saw the benefits of having Bitcoin, I take it as a financial suicide not having Bitcoin.

Who would have ever known that from the start of 2021, that;

_3AC(crypto biggest VC) would subsequently collapse.

_ Blockfi, Celsius and voyagar would go under.

_FTX would implode, and SBF being exposed as one of the world biggest fraudster in financial history.

_ Luna would go to 0.

Upon all this event that has took place,  the crypto industry would have completely collapse if not for the confidence and trust investors have in Bitcoin.
It has kept the crypto industry running, just look at Bitcoin today, it's still standing strong above 27k.
If not for Bitcoin, we would have all went home sad.
Cheers to all the bitcoineers

Somehow Bitcoin already has a very solid foundation because its the first cryptocurrency and probably going to be the foundation of all of these projects, to be honest, if Bitcoin dies for sure these blockchain projects are going to die for sure since the main cryptocurrency Bitcoin die already, yes it might not be connected at some point but the fact that no one is going to trust Bitcoin for sure is going to hit other secondary projects which probably not going to happened this days considering how Bitcoin adapt already all over the globe.

For sure in this kind of investment there are always hype involved that's making it risky considering we do not really have any kind of tangible assets on cryptocurrency all of the market prices are just supply and demand meaning it just depend on pure speculation, in the coming years we might not see Bitcoin anymore or might not exist anymore, so these secondary projects  have higher risk because they are full of hype and speculations.
612  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mga Artista Na Scam Ng Crypto Investment on: October 07, 2023, 09:35:23 PM

613  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 07, 2023, 09:15:38 PM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.

In my opinion, its better to start a smaller business, since I see a lot of businesses fail so it doesnt matter in my opinion how much your capital is you could still fail what ever capital you going to use, it is just a matter of how your going to execute it etc. So probably better to start at somehow most small capital like only 1k$ capital try a small business if it is really going to work, for sure it is not something like a big business probably going to be an online product thing only, or just a clothing brand.

What I mean is its not that easy to start a business there are also luck involved, so start at a very small one so that if you fail you could easily recover from it, then if you get lucky that business is going to be be big no matter what if the consumer like your product. So no need to save or invest you could always start at small capital, just do not gamble everything always have something on your investment and saving incase you fail you can easily recover from it.
614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving cycle on: October 07, 2023, 11:58:17 AM
So far it seems like the Halving event does its job as we can see how the market price of Bitcoin skyrockets every time there is a Bitcoin halving event since it is going to affect the supply of Bitcoin. Right now the next Bitcoin halving event is going to happen estimated around 2024 which I think could be one of the catalysts that are going to trigger that Bullrun, as we can see the in Bitcoin halving timeline we can already see how the market price reaction to the Bitcoin halving event, most of the time after or around 1 year after the Bitcoin halving event we are going to see the Bullrun, so in my speculation the Bullrun might happen somewhere around 2024-2025, right now there was really no big movement in the market, but I think we are going to see a good momentum considering its ber months, possibly we are going to reach 40k$ before the end of the year, because there are going to be a hype every time the Bitcoin halving event is near, as far as I remember in the last event there was a small pump before the event then the market is going to realize that it is still not ready to skyrocket so it is going to drop down again.
615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: October 06, 2023, 08:10:33 PM

I mean you have a good point, but I guess it wasn't really that bad to go for early profit as long as it is still a profit even though it wasn't a big amount of profit, profit still profits so it is still good enough, also it wouldn't really matter since you're going to have the opportunity to reinvest your money again in case the market price drop again if the market price starts to skyrocket again arent you going to sell your Bitcoin, I believed that there were just some investors that doesnt really have the plan to sell there Bitcoin which I think is a good move but isn't a waste since your investing in cryptocurrency or Bitcoin in order to make a profit right? probably some are going to save not only for profit, but let's be honest we all invest just to make a good amount of profit, so if we did make a good profit aren't you going to sell your holdings?

personally, I would sell a part of my investment if I think its already a good price to sell and I already make a good amount of profit, but I wouldn't really sell all of my Bitcoin or cryptocurrency since there is always a chance that its going to surpass its past price, where you could lose your opportunity if that happened, also if what happened is the opposite the market price continue to dump, I already make a good profit giving me the opportunity to reinvest that money or maybe use it to invest to a safer investment.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is my plan. on: October 06, 2023, 07:17:08 PM
I am still here to gather little knowledge about Bitcoin, I don't need enough knowledge, I can invest while learning Bitcoin, but the thing there is I am shuffling my self, so I will not be tangled while I am accumulating Bitcoin, I have come up with a plan of using the DCA method to accumulate a $50 monthly, my monthly payment from my job is $300, if my expenses will collect up $100 then $50 can be kept in crypto (Bitcoin) and another $100 for emergency funds then the remaining $50 can also be kept for personal things. Now is the best time to buy Bitcoin, I am not in a hurry to start investing Bitcoin, when the time comes for me to invest nothing will stop me to invest in BTC, as Bitcoin is not something I will start today and get rich tomorrow that is why I don't want to rush in to it. I will use electrum Bitcoin wallet to save my coins because I have learned so far that the electrum wallet is a safe wallet for any investors that what to hold Bitcoin for long, so I will be using it to hold my coins when I buy some Bitcoin, I will update when I buy my first BTC.

It was good enough for sure, you did a great job still doing savings and emergency funds, most of the newbies investments just straight up invest everything on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency nowadays not considering how risky this investment is, its always a great thing to still have good enough savings since if you have something like that your not just gonna end up selling your investment if you get an emergency and you quickly needed the money.

Dollar Cost Average is a great strategy to accumulate for sure, 50$ per month was I think a good investment already as long as you are consistent with your investment, or probably if you have extra you could add more if you see the market price is dropping a few percentage then you could lower it down when the price is pumping so that you could somehow get a discount and lower your risk.

Its also better if you will just have other sources of income since you could avoid selling your investment, and lower your risk in case you get fired from your full-time job something like that you have another source of income if that happened you doesnt to use your emergency fund since you still have income.

I'm very shocked to hear, that your monthly expenses are 100$. I mean really in today's world?  Cheesy If it is right, that's amazing from your side. And also, you can save very much in the future if you are going by that method which you have expressed here.

Putting some money for the emergency is a goof thinking by your side, as I have been suffering from this for a long time, when I was trading coins, I was in full profit. But a time came when the bull market had almost ended and the bear market started, so there I wasn't a single money to help my family or to invest a where because I hadn't put some money for a very important emergency. So, your planning for putting some money into the emergency is quite nice. 100$ for an emergency fund would be a good amount nowadays, and that will help you in your bad times.

In my country 100 per month is what I use just for my daily food allowance at work, just to be enough to buy lunch daily, it was kind of cheap I guess considering the inflation and high prices of food, etc.

618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I heard about Bitcoin and my experience on it on: October 05, 2023, 03:49:52 PM
I heard about Bitcoin from a friend in the year 2013 when I just got admitted to college. I took  little interest in it, but I was unwilling to purchase it with my funds because it was not very popular then and I lacked much business mindset. I even got more discouraged owing to the fact that many ponzi schemes were present and I couldn't differentiate the bad from the good. To be honest, I  saw it as a liability, instead of an asset that it was. I later reluctantly purchased $230 worth of Bitcoin around May 2014 after much persuasion from my friend and seeing that the price was fast rising. The fall of 2015 shook me to my bones and I lost hope again because I lost so much funds. Depressed at the loss I've incurred and without much knowledge on HODLing my coins and the possibility of it experiencing an upward trend, I sold off all my coins, hated anything concerning crypto and swore never to get involved again. The bull run of 2019 -2020 happened under my watch, but I still kept my grudge which had then developed into fear that I will still loose my funds again. I have friends whom gained from the trend and became really wealthy while I was locked up in my pessimistic mindset. As I was introduced to this forum, I was able to see that Bitcoin held much more prospects then I ever thought and would ever believe. My convinctions are now positive and I'll be investing again. I wouldn't want to be left out for the third time. Bitcoin here I come!!!.

I mean it wasn't really a thing back then. Most of the investors that got lucky back there surely had really gambled that time because at that time there was really no proof that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency could be something like an investment that could make you a profit since it is just a new thing most of the people would normally think that it is a big scam, at even this day probably there are still a lot of people that would think that way. Even though you probably do your research about it you wouldn't find a good reason to invest in cryptocurrency at that time because even to this day market price of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin just depends on supply and demand so it is all just speculation meaning the market price is just so volatile and we are not sure if that market is going to start as time passes. So after 10 years, it's not guaranteed that you are going to make a profit or is it still going to exist at the time right?

As long as you know what you are doing and you know that you are only investing a small percentage of your money you can easily invest in Bitcoin with no problem since you could just invest and forget about I, so you could easily wait until Bullrun or something like that.

Accept bitcoin before it can be yours. Grin
People can decide something for their selfs whether good or bad, first of all we all have rights to do what so ever we want to do as long as it does not harm the next door neighbor but in my country the government has done what will harm the next door neighbor's.
On Bitcointalk I have seen topics that say Bitcoin is not for everyone maybe that thought is based on their own opinions, but I totally diagree with it, if I may ask who will see something good and reject it? No body, even if some people rejected it, it might be because of the laws from the higher authorities like government or military.
Bitcoin is for everybody, but we all have to accept it before it can be ours so I conclude that we must first accept bitcoin before we can have access to it and if you don't accept bitcoin you can't invest on it.

There are different points that are made here, for sure Bitcoin is for everybody as long as you want Bitcoin you can buy or invest in Bitcoin it doesnt really matter what your gender, nationality, etc. you could accept Bitcoin.

On the other hand, the topic of Bitcoin is not for everyone have a different point, because even though bitcoin is a great investment, digital currency, etc., and you could totally buy it or invest in it As I said it is still a very risky investment so you could still lose your money to this kind of investment, considering cryptocurrency or Bitcoin is one of the riskiest investment of your money that you could make, compared to other investment like what I've said before the market price of cryptocurrency is just so volatile, so the market price could easily drop in just a short amount of time or vise versa. So someone that doesnt really have a foundation like for example savings, emergency funds, insurance, or other safe investment, in my opinion, it is better for them to not start on Bitcoin as there first investment because they could lose there money here and without any savings you might not be able to recover at some point.
