What's up with all the sockpuppets? o.o

Zaih got accused for being a sockpuppet several times by different people so he changed his avatar to a sockpuppet. Then others followed. My reason: The first time I saw his avatar I had to laugh so hard that I thought: let's get my own sockpuppet avatar.

Just tried it.

Somehow when I went to a bar my game just closed...

Also all games give "provable fair" links except for Slots, but where can I see the hash for the next game?
607  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockRun.com - Penny auctions on the blockchain on: May 30, 2013, 05:30:26 PM
My motive for winning the auction will be disclosed 7 days from now.

7 days and 1.5 hours later...

I'm curious now!

BUMP

610  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting on: May 29, 2013, 09:52:25 PM
Am I being stupid here....

We could work on finding a gentler word for it if you like?  Wink

if I bet 0.25BTC and roll 50.50 that's 2x payout, yeah which is 0.5 so how come my balance only increased by 0.25 each time?

You're effectively betting on a coin flip.  Half the time you win, half the time you lose (let's ignore the house edge for the purposes of this - in reality you win slightly less than half the time).

You bet 0.25 each time.  When you lose, you're down 0.25.  When you win, you're up 0.25.  So in the long run it balances out.

If you made 0.5 profit each time you won, and only made a 0.25 loss each time you lost, the site would soon go bust.

In short, the '2x' payout includes your original stake.  You bet 0.25 and get 2 times that back when you win, so you get 0.50 back, which is your 0.25 bet plus your 0.25 profit. When you win, you double (2x) your money from 0.25 to 0.50 - a profit of 1x your money.

Get it?

Or the short version:

You have 10 BTC. You bet 1 before you flip. Now you have 9 BTC. You win! You get 2 BTC back -> You now have 11 BTC.
611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ridiculous obvious shill/bumping of Primedice.com thread on: May 28, 2013, 11:18:45 PM
I don't think Stunna is abusing it, but that's serious enough to not just be a top priority of things to do.

I posted ~2800 random rolls, all with the same client seed ("0"), and the outcome was just below (as in ~49.9x%) 50% win ratio. A sample I did before that gave a 52% win ratio (both with "roll higher than 50.50"). So it does not seem as they are exploiting it, as is possible ( http://v20.nl/primedice )
612  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] DoubleMyCoins.com! - 50/50 Chance Provably Fair [Help Test] on: May 28, 2013, 11:13:58 PM
No idea what my game hash is, but it wants me to pay to 13Bp6ytDR4J3v734y14ytSXFS76K7JfzD5.

The wallet you may send the 0.1 BTC to is 1QtHuSHkeMyZnKFHhf7UeEs4NusVnrVQq

EDIT:
Also from first post:

Experience ZERO House Fee during testing!

How about a 50/50 game where you actually do something

Your task is to find the Red Ace! It's a 50/50 chance which is provably fair. We use true random numbers from random.org. If you choose correctly your coins are DOUBLED (less 1.9% house fee).

So what is it?

Bump.
614  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting on: May 27, 2013, 11:24:02 PM
What is the problem with the sentence? I was quoting myself to show you the problem AND ROFLMAO THE CLIENT SEED ISN'T BEING RANDOMIZED WITH CRYPTOGRAPHICALY SECURE ALGORITHMS CLIENT SIDE?!?!?!

Way to protect the noobs vets.

Yeah, it's fine.  I was just confused who was saying what there.

As I understand it, the player is responsible for setting the client seed, but I'm not sure.

Did you think the client seed was being randomized client side?  If so, how would your original criticism have been valid at all?  From their verification page it sounds like the user gets to choose both client and server seeds, which is weird.

Here's my post about it, with their answer not far below:

Just for the fun of it.
I present, the unfair dice game:

615  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 27, 2013, 10:34:49 PM

Well, that's exactly what I did. Use the official driver remove tool. Restart. Install CCC 12.8 with its old driver. Restart. Run oclvanitygen: same error as with 13.1
616  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 27, 2013, 09:39:55 PM
I never got oclvanitygen to work on my GPU (only CPU which gets 750kkeys/s) so I read here that I should downgrade to AMD Catalyst 12.8.
So I did that, but still oclvanitygen does not work on my GPU:

Anyone knows how to fix this?

I noticed I forgot to change the price before putting this online.

Price for a single hat now reduced from 0.005 to just below 0.0035.
