604  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC does $50 USD will it run to 80-100 or collapse back to $30 on: March 19, 2013, 02:21:12 AM
Why does everyone keep yammering on about $30? The train has left that station long ago.

Those are ones who missed the boat train.

$5,500,000 in buys at $30 and up. Never say never, but it seems VERY unlikely. We barely cracked $33 with a FORK in progress, for the love of pete.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is useless now. on: March 19, 2013, 01:59:01 AM
Let's take a chill pill. LTC gained real value in the last two weeks. On top of that, SR has been around for a good while, and Atlantis has just recently popped up (to my knowledge, I first read about it today). So let's take a deep breath. A crypto with a $500+ million market cap isn't just going to disappear because a smaller, just recently viable one has a website for weed.  Roll Eyes

You guys keep thinking about the value of the coins, but not what they have to offer

The value is a very important indicator to commodity markets that trade things people actually want. You might be confused about the significance of valuation because of the purely speculative bubble that is litecoin, and the way it just crashed > 30% for no reason.

608  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0.8.1 - Changing the blockchain directory on: March 18, 2013, 02:21:41 PM
Symbolic linking is native Windows utility. But its command line only, hence the GUI app. Its open source.
609  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0.8.1 - Changing the blockchain directory on: March 18, 2013, 02:01:59 PM
This is what you're looking for: https://code.google.com/p/symlinker/

Symbolic links GUI app. Only works in VISTA/WIN7 and up. Might require NTFS partition as well.

Works flawlessly for me.

What you want to do is move the entire bitcoin userdata dir first, create the symbolic link folder in the default location, then point the link to where the files were moved to.

Thoughts are alternate realties we observe and connect to.

What a thought! You should post that sometime in a thread called Quantum Conspiracy!

No they are not.

Mined on for 4 months. Stock clocks were kept for most of that time. More recently at 1ghz core. Fans at 75% or below.  Temps 73 Celsius or less. High quality PSU & power filtering UPS was used.

Mines litecoin @ 500 k/h at stock clocks. I didn't have the time or inclination to overclock to the max. There are reports that with 1100 core, 1450 mem, and proper cgminer settings, these will do 700k/h.

Asking $370 each. Shipping from Canada $35. To USA $45.

613  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] High-end Gaming-type Video Cards on: March 17, 2013, 12:49:47 AM
I have two 7970 powercolor that are reference layout but not strictly reference design because of different components I believe. Newer EK waterblock fits these.

I won't sell for $300, that is $50 below FMV.
614  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2013-03-15 BTCGuild Scammed of 1.2k coins on: March 16, 2013, 01:04:01 AM
Seems BTC reputation as a scammers haven is well earned.
BTCGuild has a problem on 0.8 upgrade and a number of people took the piss.

https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=home

Of course its a scammer's haven. Bitcoin is anyone's haven from fiat. Even a scammer doesn't like inflation, and wants to store and transfer wealth securely and privately in bitcoin.

The Bitcoin rapture is upon us

Lets not go full retard.

Max is waxing metaphorical, he isn't founding a new religion.

You'd have to hijack the entire dev team because they check each other's work.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: March 12, 2013, 05:59:11 PM
I much prefer cgminer @ 5% slower & not having to babysit my 7970 miners.

+ I can't do without cgminer features.
