It has horrible liquidity.

What are purposes of your topic, fella? For earning merit points, right? I have not seen that the topic is necessary for the forum, instead of publishing another un-necessary topic (I dont want to called it as useless because it contains several meaningful messages).

I don't give a shit about merit points.  They are of no value to me.  You can have all of mine ... Lol.

It's my way of venting to all of the fuck-tardery going on around here from having to repeat the same goddamn thing to a hundred different people on a daily basis.
603  Other / Beginners & Help / Anyone? on: February 22, 2018, 02:41:52 AM
Do any of you listen to podcasts or watch youtube videos?  Or maybe even read this forum for a little while, before posting ridiculous questions?  Or just google it?  Come on guys.  You need to gain your knowledge from every single avenue that is available to you.

Do it.  Live, Breath, Learn, Ask intelligent questions, Learn more.  Be wrong, kick yourself, don't make the same mistake twice.  Oh ummm ... You just learned something.  You're now smarter than you were yesterday.

If I really wanted to learn about any subject on the face of this earth, I would read, listen, and collaborate until I couldn't take it anymore and had to sleep.  Do it daily and never stop.  Wecome to crypto.
604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Mining Farm? on: February 22, 2018, 01:18:41 AM
Agreed.  You can look into cloud mining, if you'd like, but it isn't worth your time 99% of the time.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti AERO on: February 22, 2018, 12:27:45 AM
Anyone have this card?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137253

I'm having to run the fan at 90% to get the card down to 75-76C.  Is that the norm for a blower card?
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ventilation - Is this going to work? on: February 21, 2018, 11:25:26 PM
That says it runs 3500 cfm @ 170 watts.

I bet you get 1500 cfm max.

The issue with these fans are they are not meant to be run 24/7 at high temps.

Look at Quietcool fans

Nice! But pretty expensive.

https://shop.wholehousefandeals.com/quiet-cool-classic-line-fans.aspx

How do you calcualte the cfm or air changes per hour you're going to need for a specific number of gpu's?  Or do you do it some other way?
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An Excellent Way to Manage Heat From Mining in a Home or Warehouse on: February 21, 2018, 04:22:41 PM
What kind of exhaust fan are you using?  I had my airflow problem fixed in my head until someone pointed out that intake and exhaust shouldn't be through windows on the same wall.  Makes sense, it just didn't cross my mind until someone brought it up.

I think my new plan is to exhaust the heat through the ceiling into my attic.
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ventilation - Is this going to work? on: February 21, 2018, 01:37:57 PM
Phillip,  Yes both windows are on the same wall.  I see what you're saying ... So what about using the windows for air intake and exhausting through the ceiling into the attic of my house?
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ventilation - Is this going to work? on: February 21, 2018, 01:49:29 AM
You are going to have problems with the humidity condensing on the circuit boards of the GPU's.  Not good.  Bringing in humidity with a fan is not a wise idea considering the condensing problem and the fact that it is the humidity that carries heat.  An air conditioner is actually a dehumidifier.  Thats how an a/c unit gets rid of the heat from in your home.  You would be better off with a properly sized window a/c unit exchanging the heat to the outside (via the condenser coil) and it removing the humidity out of the room at the same time.  Sure its another power bill but sure beats a 30gpu replacement bill.

At what humidity percentage does this become a problem?  Currently the ambient room humidity is 10%.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ventilation - Is this going to work? on: February 21, 2018, 12:37:47 AM
My mining room currently has 30 gpu's running.  Room is 1680 cubic feet.  I have two windows and have purchased two of these ...

https://www.build.com/air-king-9166/s380951?uid=441363

One to pull air in and one to push air out.

On the low setting it does 2510 CFM.  If you do the math it comes out to be about 89 air changes per hour on the low setting.  2510x60=150600/1680=89.64

Currently it is about 22C outdoor temp.  Ambient temp of the mining room is around 38C.  This is with both windows open.  Mining room door shut.  I have a cheap box fan in one window pulling hot air out.  No fan in the other window right now.  All five 6-gpu rigs have a cheap 20" box fan behind them and my gpu temps currently range between 59C and 70C.

Summer time outdoor temps sometimes reach 37C on the hottest days of the summer.  Average is probably between 26-32C.  Are my ventilation plans going to be sufficient?  How does humidity play into it?  Sometimes we have some pretty humid days during the summer here.

The other thing I've thought about is portable air conditioning, but everything I've read says that it's way more important to propertly ventilate than it is to cool the air.

Maybe get a job where you have your own office with airco.
Twice the income.

You're FIRED!
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hotel mining on: February 20, 2018, 03:59:27 PM
real scheme:

power included storage facilities, viable in cold climates where the storage units are located outside in sub-zero temps year around.

I might know a friend doing this, costs ~150$/month per unit, and each unit has enough power for a 12 gtx 1080 ti rig.

I can power 12 1080ti's for a little less than that at my house and have the convenience of having the rigs at my house using an internet connection that is already there.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining earnings are terrible, I'm shutting down for a while on: February 20, 2018, 01:21:45 PM
Hope you can still earn from this, I have actually read some of the miners said that its kinda hard for them to earn in mining at this point.

Lol.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hotel mining on: February 20, 2018, 01:20:59 PM
This whole thread is rather entertaining. I don't think anyone who can afford to build a $2-4k rig is going to consider living like this. We've got better things to do.

Exactly.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Waiting forever on Amazon stock of 1070ti. Awful! on: February 19, 2018, 11:51:37 PM
Someone should "include installation" and have amazon send some guy to build your mining rig.

Lol ... That would be funny.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining going to die soon? on: February 18, 2018, 06:43:30 PM
Wonder if they'll start climbing the clock tower before or after you do. hehe

Nvidia is developing a gpu for cryptomining only which means, the end of gaming gpus will end soon, my hopes is gaming gpus will only be for gaming like it was meant to.

They have already done that with a customized GTX 1060 without the an HDMI port, however many miners still wants gaming GPUs for their warranty as the said GPU have shorter warranty in then and these GPUs does not have resell value as the gaming GPUs.

From the sound of that article, they're going to give it another go.  If they can make something mining specific that is way more powerful than a gaming gpu, there will be less demand for gaming gpu's in the mining world, which helps solve their current delima.
617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late for the rest of us? on: February 18, 2018, 04:25:44 AM
If anything, it's too early.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining still worth it for the average person? on: February 18, 2018, 12:28:25 AM
You need at least 3-4K to make a decent profit (lowering your ROI).

Lol ... Building bigger rigs does NOT lower your capital recovery timeframe.
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: for 2X PSU are you doing paperclip method? on: February 17, 2018, 01:31:04 AM
I haven't used the ADD2PSU, but I have used the atx splitter and the paperclip method.  I much prefer the atx splitter.  Simple, easy, cheap, and it works.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining going to die soon? on: February 16, 2018, 11:20:17 PM

That would be awesome, if/when it happens.
