I actually don't mind the BRO market ticker, it's just that the hashtag #BRO is overused on Twitter to the point that people can never get a discussion around BreakoutCoin:
https://twitter.com/search?f=realtime&q=%23BRO&src=typd

I see where that XBR suggestion is coming from:
Ripple (XRP)
CounterParty (XCP)
Primecoin (XPM)
Monero (XMR)
...

If they're planning a ticker change, I rather see it change to something as memorable as BRO, but not as intimidating as XBR... X's are too intimidating IMO...  Lips sealed
Bitcoin (BTC)
Litecoin (LTC)
--->  BreakOutCoin (BRC) or (BRK)

That said, a community vote is always a great idea.

The community vote should be for what letters come after the "X".

It's not about intimidation. The three letter ticker that starts with an "X" designates a currency that is not issued by a national government. This is an ISO standard. The question is whether the BRO team wants to make sure their crypto is taken as seriously as possible. It effects the market cap. Monero changed from MRO to XMR for this reason, when its market cap was about 1/2 that of BYTE.

BRO is a great ticker symbol for play money. XBR conforms to an ISO standard and communicates that BreakoutCoin is to be taken seriously as a cryptocurrency.

I agree with this, it's more about the standard than having a cool ticker.

+1 for XBR = standard, cool and unique

603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 04, 2014, 11:07:29 PM
So take for example I wanted to buy something for 10k USD I have to put 20k Down? No way... No way not happening.

Pretty sure if you polled the community as a whole they would not go for this either.

Yea, pretty absurd...  Will limit the market to people selling DOGE tshirts.   Cheesy
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 04, 2014, 10:29:03 PM

It's only zero sum if you're not "mining" the right cloud.

because i don't get pay to do their job...

Their job isn't to entertain trolls like yourself. Why not just go play video games?

Sure because it just normal to say "will let you know what we came up with after the weekend." and then not come back for over a week?

But in the Bitcoin world it just normal to let your investors hanging for over a week wondering if you have been scammed or not

I'm sorry but it seems that we have been scammed again... I really hope I'm wrong!

Good luck to all

One would think in the time you spent writing these posts and whining, you could have sent a PM with your questions and likely already received an answer.

AAAAAND IT'S GONE?

I can't wait for this post, which makes absolutely NO sense, to be deleted.

By whom? The team that seems to have gone away?

Why don't you try reaching out rather than relying on this shitty forum?

I see them on Skype right now although I'm not going to bother them with petty questions asking for updates.

I would like to nominate Hondo, the lead developer of Stealthcoin. The BCT link for Stealthcoin can be found here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=836009.0

Blog sounds like a good idea

After 2nd fund raiser must definitely lock this thread for good

Too much rubbish and FUD in these forums... best to go professional like so many other top coins now and just lock this thread for good and have a private forum/blog

I'm sure they'll eventually have someone to manage all of this for them.  I've got to assume social media, forum, blog, etc is all in the works.

613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Coin Sale 1st phase ended | PoB | Poker Celebrities | Fantasy Sports on: November 28, 2014, 06:32:49 AM
guys you should make some timeline of BRO nad blog with all your progress in work. This theard is unreadable

I agree. Timeline is needed.

I'd rather see a roadmap than a timeline.

Timelines are only necessary when there are hard deadlines and 99% of the time the deadline wouldn't be met anyways.  I think as the team gets closer they'll be able to provide a tentative launch date, but I doubt that's possible at this point in the development cycle.

You guys have a project manager on staff?

If not, I've got a good recommendation for ya.   Wink
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Coin Sale 1st phase ended | PoB | Poker Celebrities | Fantasy Sports on: November 26, 2014, 07:51:39 PM
so BROs what is your prediction about BRO price after launch?

I think we can hit 200BRO per BTC and then make it stable in around 700-1000/BTC

Keep this in mind:

“We’re required to make sure that we have enough coins to cover any chips that are in play. If someone buys $100-worth of breakout chips, we then have to buy $100-worth of breakout coin ourselves from the decentralized market in order to cover that,”

It's not truly a thread until youngmike graces it with his presence.   Was worried for a sec.

Ok, The timeline:

Tuesday evening, Nov 25th : auto arbitrage for cryptsy, will require 15k.
right after thanksgiving or sooner: graphs for the coins' history of trading and trends.
I will post other dates soon for the addition of c-cex and also the release of the new Quatloo-Trader, series 3.x.x.x

15k, that's certainly disappointing.
