602  Other / Archival / Re: ♻️ [banned mixer] — FAST, SECURE and RELIABLE BITCOIN MIXER (Since 2016) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ on: November 14, 2023, 08:36:53 AM
Hello.
How do I link to a mixer? Their mail doesn't get botched  (support@[banned mixer]).. Feedback does not work on the site

As far as I know, there is no other way than sending an email to support@[banned mixer] or through the contact link on their website. You can try PMing [banned mixer], but they haven't been active on the forum for the past few days.

What did you mean by: "Their mail doesn't get botched" ?

Hello.
Emails are not sent to this email. support@[banned mixer]. Throws an error.
Feedback does not work on the [banned mixer] website.

What kind of error are you encountering? Is there a specific message or code that comes up when you try to send emails, or does the email just bounce back to you? I just tried it myself, sending a test email to their address, and it worked fine on my end.
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eloncoin will be massive. on: November 13, 2023, 01:18:27 PM
Even if Elon musk is not aware about his name behind this project, just as you u said, I still see chances of becoming reasonable arterall who knows.

Why are you posting bullshit then?

Elon Musk isn't associated with this Eloncoin in any way. And I understand that you might be excited about it and want to get the word out, especially if you're personally invested, but that doesn't mean you should spread misinformation. No need to get overzealous with promotion in a way that could mislead people and we ought to behave ethically and responsibly when sharing information that impacts the community.

Now the recently created "Eloncoin" bearing his name, observers are keen to see how it performs in the market.

Recently created? Do you even know what you are promoting?
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 09:52:57 AM
Let's discuss the reasons why KYC are not advantageous for the gamblers and casinos?

There's an old post by 1miau that explains it better than I ever could. I think everyone should give it a read.

Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless
605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Investment and Why Are Bitcoin Withdrawal Fees So High? on: November 13, 2023, 09:45:07 AM
Now my problem is that when I try to transfer bitcoins to hardware wallet, I see a fee of 0.0005 bitcoins, what is the reason for the high fee? A few days ago, it seems that it was 1-2 dollars. Fee will not be reduced? If the fee is not reduced then I will withdraw with this fee.

Before deciding to use a centralized service, make sure to always check the withdrawal fee rate and other details, like the minimum amount required for withdrawal.  as well as any potential restrictions or conditions that may apply.

KuCoin Withdrawal Fee Rate: https://www.kucoin.com/vip/level

You can also compare fees among various exchanges on sites such as https://withdrawalfees.com/, for example.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 12, 2023, 09:56:36 PM
Okay, so if his family doesn't have any real proof from legitimate institutions saying their brother has a gambling addiction, they probably have no legal basis for a lawsuit.  I mean, the guy's an adult after all.  Unless he literally cant make choices for himself anymore he can do whatever he wants that's legal.  It doesn't sound like the casino did anything wrong here.  The brother makes his own choices, even if they're bad ones.  His family might not like that he gambles too much, but that doesnt mean they can blame the casino and  he goes there of his own free will. So yeah without evidence their brother is actually addicted, the family doesn't have much of a case.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adaption in Turkey on: November 12, 2023, 07:19:39 PM
While I agree with you at the same time I can also understand the frustration of the OP: maybe you live in a first world country run by an actual democracy, so you have all the rights to protest against your government and your politicians but unfortunately in many other places in the world is not like that, it could even cost your life.

Sure, the grass might be greener on the other side, but let's not forget, someone had to do the planting and watering – it didn't just magically happen!

I don't want to turn this into some big political discussion, but I'm old enough to remember that we haven't always had democracy here.  We had to fight and bleed for our freedom just over 30 years back.  Not saying that everyone has to go through the same, but if the powers that be are messed up, it's on the people to change that. The people got the real power, they just gotta realize it and take it.

I know it ain't always so simple and protests are risky.  But freedom ain't free and sitting quiet means youre part of the problem.  At some point enough good folks gotta stand together and say No more.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 12, 2023, 06:33:45 PM
Gambling's mostly just about luck, while trading's got risks you can get better at managing.  With trading you can make informed choices and have strategies to control the risk, not just leave it all to chance like gambling usually is.  The trading world lets you keep learning, stay up on market trends and get better at analysis so you can make decisions that aren't just random guesses and  being able to adapt to how the market moves and respond to that separates trading from gambling where you never know whatll happen next.  Trading ain't just blind luck, you gain skill over time.

Can a gambler be a good trader? I'd say it depends on the person and if they can switch their thinking from just relying on luck to using more analysis and strategy.  Gambling and trading both require taking risks, but the talents you need to succeed aren't exactly the same.  Some gamblers might have useful skills like intuition, managing risk, and making choices quickly that could help them with trading.  but for some the gambling mindset might not translate well. and  The best traders use discipline, plan ahead, and study the odds - things that aren't always needed when you just rely on luck.  Personally, I think some gamblers could make the transition to being traders but they'd have to work hard to develop new skills.  It wouldn't happen overnight.

610  Economy / Reputation / Re: How easy do you think it is to invest in trust feedback in order to swindle? on: November 12, 2023, 04:51:52 PM
There's always a possibility of getting scammed or manipulated when you make choices solely based on trust rankings and feedback.  Those can be faked pretty easily.

But I agree that most businesses that have built up their rep over many years are less risky than some fly-by-night operation that just popped up out of nowhere and  the longer it's been around and the more resources the owners have invested, the less likely it is to be scam.  Why would you spend thousands of dollars setting up a legit business just to make a little bit of money scamming people? Not saying that never happens, but it's less plausible.  Still, even long-standing businesses can have some red flags if you know what to watch out for.  It comes down to how savvy you are at spotting sketchy tactics versus how tempted you are by deals that seem too good to be true.
611  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan defaulted by [Edwardard] on: November 12, 2023, 01:58:26 PM
You are right and the campaign on which the user was still active. So, there was no chance to earn less than 100$ per week. I can't imagine a healthy-minded person can act like Edwardard did.

His activity looks weird, even before he asked you for a loan, he wasn't making a maximum of his income through that signature, he had periods when barely posted so if he really would have needed that money he would have got them just from the signature even without taking the loan.

Yeah. This dude showed up again on the forum around the end of last year.  He hadn't posted anything for like two years before that and  in 2020 he only wrote maybe 22 posts or something, just getting active again after being gone since 2018. Pretty soon after returning he started asking for loans in the lending section.  At first just small loans for 70-80 bucks, then 250-350, and eventually 550 as he tried to build up some trust and  took him around 5 or 6 months altogether to work his way up to borrowing $1000.  Dude's definitely got other profiles on this forum no doubt.  He'll be back to try this hustle again for sure.

Hello @Shasan I can see he is in a signature campaign with coinomize project...

C'mon, SmartGold01! You can do better than this.
612  Other / Meta / Re: So I had a person send me a pm to beg for merits. on: November 12, 2023, 12:27:02 PM
I don't think I'd do anything about it personally except maybe send him a friendly heads up that hitting people up for merits aint really the way we do things around here.  I might even skim through his posts to see if he's contributed anything worthwhile.  But if he's bugging me over and over and it starts feeling harassy, then I'd bring the mods into it.

I don't think we've got a hard defined rule about this kind of thing.  And it's possible it was an honest mistake if the guy is new and doesn't know the norms yet, so I don't think asking for merits has to be punishable and  like someone said, there's worse things than asking for merits.
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins do ordinary people have? on: November 12, 2023, 10:55:13 AM
Would it be a satisfactory quantity if I had 0.1?

What amount of bitcoin is considered decent really depends on your personal situation.  Someone living in a developing country may feel pretty good about having just 0.1 BTC, while that might not seem like much to someone used to a high standard of living.  I'd say 0.1 is a fair start if you're new to crypto, but hardcore bitcoiners probably won't be satisfied until they've got a full coin or more.  Me, I'd be pretty jazzed to have just a few bitcoins but I know people with much bigger goals than that.  It all comes down to what you're aiming for!  Just getting some bitcoin at all means you're ahead of most people out there who still don't really understand crypto.  But sure, 0.1 is a solid foundation to build from if you want to keep accumulating.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adaption in Turkey on: November 12, 2023, 10:45:42 AM
You can find physical stores and currency exchanges all over Europe, the US, and parts of Asia where you can just walk up to the counter and buy or sell bitcoin.  There's actual staff at the storefront in these locations, not just an ATM machine and  I've seen them in busy areas of most major cities in Europe and America. The ones I've visited tend to be grubby little shops down side streets though in some places they're getting more mainstream.

Sometimes I think we need to migrate to a crypto friendly country.

Instead of just picking up and migrating to a new country, why not try to make some changes at home first? Get involved with the local government or community groups and see if you can help create a better environment for crypto. I'm not saying it'll be easy or happen overnight.  And maybe you can't do it alone, but by joining together with others who want the same things, you'd be surprised what can happen.  At least give it a shot before you go packing your bags.

618  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Jesmo li pronašli Fxsurfera& Antikvarka? on: November 11, 2023, 02:51:12 PM

619  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: illegal and humiliating video verification in Rollbit.com on: November 10, 2023, 03:23:47 PM
I have to admit, after reading all of this, I find this quite disturbing. I didn't know that Rollbit was one of "those" platforms.

@Rollbit Razer, I was hoping for reassurance from Rollbit casino that overly invasive verification isn't gonna become the norm.  That you recognize the privacy concerns and will work to address them.  This response though just doesn't provide that kind of reassurance in my opinion.  It comes across more as trying to justify excessive security measures rather than recognizing the valid concerns being raised.

We always refund users who are unable to complete verification steps.

There is one question, though. Is this sort of verification check a normal thing you do whenever someone deposits substantial amount into Rollbit, or do you just happen to do it right before someone tries to withdraw to their personal wallet? Because, you know, there's a world of difference between the two scenarios.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to LN BTC without conversion on: November 10, 2023, 09:56:17 AM
Suppose, a wallet has 1 BTC then he'd be having 1 BTC on original network and 1 BTC on Lightning network as well. When user spends from either, balance will be deducted simultaneously from both networks, so original amount remains same. No conversion involved.

Non-custodial Bitcoin wallets don't actually store a balance.  There's no ledger inside the wallet keeping track of how much bitcoin you have.  Instead, your wallet calculates the balance by looking at the blockchain and adding up all the Unspent Transaction Outputs (UTXOs) associated with your wallet addresses.   So you can't just deduct some bitcoin from your wallet balance without making an on-chain transaction to spend some UTXOs.  The balance is just a calculation, not a real thing stored in the wallet itself and  to spend bitcoin, your wallet has to create a transaction sending some UTXOs to a new address on the blockchain.

if some one should have the supposed 1 bitcoin in his or her wallet, and open a LN which I believe should be connected to the same wallet, the balance from appears as the same, and which ever network the individual decides to spend his or her bitcoin from, the transaction will be recorded on both networks, which will also make both balance reflects accordingly.

No. That's not how the Lightning Network works.
