601  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: March 01, 2024, 06:55:04 AM
Through out last year I find it hard to get things done with funds despite how my earning was and I find it hard to spend more on my bills around me , though I have been seeing some humans earning and paying bills with one source of income and I do ask myself how is it done

please your advice will be of help

Coping with one source of income in this modern day life is really so difficult most times because every of your Bills will be dependent on only that one source and it is even not advisable in the first place to have only one source because if it fails that means your life might be in chaos due to the fact that getting a new job or a new source would be difficult so no matter how little our income is we should try and save some money from it so that we can use it to establish another source or use it as a backup tomorrow if our income generating source fails us.

My advice for you is that not all of your bills you need to settle at every time your income arrives, you need to do an opportunity cost that is giving more value to things you need the most. There are some bills that are of more important than the others so you give then more of priority and forget about those that are of less importance so that it will enable you not to run into debt and save some money as well then after which you might have gotten another source of income, you can now begin taking care of those bills.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A famous influencer lost more than $4000 in just 2 minutes. (2) on: February 28, 2024, 12:16:04 PM
Have you experienced this kind of situation wherein you spend huge amount of money and then regret after the loss? Is your reaction the same with that guy on the video?

Definitely, not only in gambling but one way or the other I have spent huge amount of money on something I thought it would be profitable to me but at the end it didn't work out as I expected, I didn't feel too bad because i already had it in mind that anything can happen so the same thing should also be applied in gambling as no matter any amount that one may have lost shouldn't make them to behave anyhow or become so violent and angry and when gambling we should know that winning is not guaranteed so that we won't feel the impact much if we don't win
603  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: $26bn passed through Binance from... on: February 28, 2024, 12:09:54 PM
This money does not belong to government,  this money belongs to common Nigerians that are looking for a way to survive
Nigerians mostly uses payment processors before, but CBN banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. We moved to P2P and Nigerians will not label the bank transaction as cryptocurrencies. CBN unban cryptocurrencies but Nigerians still prefer P2P. What did he mean? That the money (naira) in the bank used to buy bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not legit? I am disappointed that CBN can say they can not adequately identified the money (naira) that passed through Binance.

Already I know that the ban CBN lifted on cryptocurrency was intentional so that they can have a statistical number of people who are using and investing on cryptocurrency across the country and am just Happy that despite that CBN lifted the ban a lot of Nigerians in the crypto space still prefers to use p2p for crypto transactions rather than coming out openly to make crypto related transactions that the government can easily track.
604  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin price speculation (BTC/NGN) on: February 28, 2024, 12:00:13 PM
I noticed people talk more about USD has been one of the reasons I edited it. Also to let us know that we should use black market rate because it is the price that we have been using for discussion. I did not see anyone using the I&E or the CBN rate.

Happy to see people posting on this thread again.

BTC at ₦92.2 million today. Approaching ₦100 million. $56000

It's really funny how the price of BTC is skyrocketing and Naira is also appreciating but the appreciation of Naira is a welcome development as we hope to experience the price of Bitcoin soaring more higher while our currency gains more value, at least the price of goods and commodity would start reducing gradually in other to make life more affordable for people in the country. As at the time of writing this, the price of naira to dollars is around #1630 while the price of BTC is fluctuating around $58,986
605  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 24, 2024, 11:41:01 PM
Having a regular income is good for everyone but for a gambler, it tends to even draw them more closer and become addicted because since the income is coming at regular intervals, the gambler would feel he can actually win on several attempts thereby he can even spend most of his money in gambling with the hope that he would still receive another income within a short while and since he is very sure of his income he might gamble carelessly with the mindset that after all his income will surely come. So even while having a steady source of income, a gambler needs to learn how to manage his funds and not allow his gambling to take the most part of his life then only can he be at peace and play in a responsible manner.
It's possible that certain people who have extra money are more likely to be tempted to gamble in search of thrills or enjoyment. However, not all gamblers go on to become addicted. Although motivation varies, I believe that having a steady income generally lowers the danger of excessive gambling. Of course, maintaining balance, establishing boundaries, being aware, and making sure that gambling stays a controlled and pleasurable hobby rather than leading to hazardous actions are all part of being a responsible gambler. In other words, if you compare not having a regular income to having one, you will find that the lack of a regular income makes you more likely to chase losses because you will run out of money and your credit status may be compromised by any debts you take on from your debtors. On the other side, there's a chance that having a reliable source of income will encourage them to spend their money more sensibly, including when it comes to gambling.

You have a point because it would be better for the gambler to have a regular source of income rather than not having at all because since he doesn't have a means of steady income, it might make him become more addicted and desperate for winning then he can even go extra mile just to make sure he gets money to keep playing and hoping to win and it's very clear that people who doesn't have a steady means of income take loans from people just to fund their gambling and if it doesn't work out they can become so depressed and may even result to living some strange lifestyle.
606  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Emergency funds is vital. on: February 24, 2024, 11:27:21 PM
For those who are new to this space emergency funds are funds set aside for the proverbial rainy day, intended to cover expected or unexpected costs that may pop up over time. Most time there's this urge for one to go all in (in investing in BTC) that is putting higher percentage of your funds or earnings in investing in order to yield good and massive profit leaving only small percentage that may not cover your expenses in a long run before  receiving in yah earnings sources again.

You're correct on your definition of emergency fund but I also want to add that emergency fund is like an amount that should be set outside your budget Incase if there are things that would come up after you've made your budget already then you can use the emergency fund to settle it without having to touch your initial budget. When you use the word "all in" you are actually talking about Everything so during any investment, going all in isn't advisable as there is need to also have some reserved funds for miscellaneous while still carrying on with your investment strategy.
607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Preventive measures not to lose your btc on: February 24, 2024, 11:17:55 PM
One aspect many of you are ignoring is investing in shitcoins, coins that promises unrealistic return on investment... this is similar to ponzi schemes because they always end up as scam. The founders will collect your precious Bitcoin and hand over to you a bag of shitcoins that if not sold immediately you see in the market, they will turn to worthless bag of shit. I think this should be the most convincing and diplomatic way of losing ones BTC.  They leverage on the greed in humans to get their victims. It is important to note that BTC is enough for anyone looking for a genuine investment that will give good profits.

You made a very big point here because I nearly became a victim to scammers, of receiving shiltcoin in replacement for  my valuable altcoin. Many helpful preventive measure have been listed out in comment section here  I appreciate,  would not border to repeat, but what I want to add mostly for newbie is to avoid quick rich when ever it involves the Bitcoin and crypto related because it has turn a big strategy for scammers, buying shiltcoin during presale and airdrop that offer bonuses.

Actually you know newbies are always carried away by hypes and offers of huge bonuses without knowing that those are the strategies for scammers because without them listing those offers they know that people won't be interested snd just as you have stated, most newbies believes in get rich quick like as soon as they see an altcoin that's pumping heavily, they would assume that it would continue pumping without knowing that if scammers doesn't use such strategies then they can't convince the newbies so it would be good to stay away from any get rich quick adverts or schemes.
608  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coping with expectations on: February 24, 2024, 10:54:33 PM
Expectation from people could be the driving force that keeps us going or the reason why some of us gets depressed because of our inability to meeting those expectations.

That's really the mentality of we humans as we always expect things to always go the way it used to be without having that knowledge that change is inevitable in life because as people grows and have more exposure that's how our way of reasoning changes and sometimes the reason why some persons get depressed if they couldn't meet up a standard that they were before is as a result of people trying to let them know about their past life and activities but it is your duty either to listen to them or just live your life the way you can without caring too much on how anyone feels about you whether you are moving forward or not is none of anyone's business.
609  Other / Off-topic / Re: Money buy you Happiness, is this true! on: February 24, 2024, 10:38:38 PM
It is very obvious that money can't buy happiness but it is good to have money because even if you are not truly happy, you would be glad and thankful that you have money to take care of your life endeavors and be able to get whatever you want in life despite that you are not completely happy due to one problem or the other that your money may not be able to solve but in most  cases, money brings happiness and makes one feel fulfilled in life.
610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit 1M ? on: February 24, 2024, 09:57:06 PM
Speculating Bitcoin to reach 1M may come to reality if we look back at the price movement of Bitcoin since it was invented till now and it's assumed that about 2 million Bitcoin is yet to be mined to complete Satoshi's already speculated total Bitcoin of 21 million and the remaining 2 million is expected to be mined within 120 years so making a speculation of Bitcoin reaching an ATH of 1M is achievable though it may not be within your speculation of 15-20 years.
611  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: February 24, 2024, 09:42:01 PM
I don't know where you got the narrative that being a graduate is a key to being wealthy but you should understand that the reasons for acquiring education is not centered on being rich but to gain knowledge so that you can be able to also interact and have quality conversations with other people because if you are not educated you would find it difficult to relate with people.

Being educated or being a graduate doesn't guarantee wealth but at least it will expose you to things you can get involved in and possibly become wealthy in life and being educated also helps to manage one's resources in a case where you are opportuned to have a lot of resources but if you are educated you would find it complex and unable to manage your resources very well.
612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anatsa Android malware downloaded 150,000 times via Google Play on: February 23, 2024, 03:46:46 AM

The five malicious apps are:
Phone Cleaner - File Explorer ()
PDF Viewer - File Explorer ()
PDF Reader - Viewer & Editor ()
Phone Cleaner: File Explorer ()
PDF Reader: File Manager ()

If you’ve ever used your phone to accessed a site that allows ads then you’ll know that all these apps you mentioned are the den of malware’s - there are times when you’ll be scrolling through the internet and you’ll suddenly receive a notification that your phone needs cleaning and you should download a phone cleaner or any similar apps.

Yeah, majority of those apps are malicious like sometimes after installing them it either begins to scan your phone automatically or it would notify you that you have some dangerous apps that needs cleaning and if you make an attempt to allow that cleaning, that's how you will just lose some of your vital apps or files stored in your phone.
Google really needs a serious upgrade on play store because the way hackers are going too extreme just to confuse or bypass some security checks is really alarming.
613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Owning several accounts and bypassing proxiban. on: February 22, 2024, 10:29:48 PM
I have come across several posts were I discover that so many people create an account and labour till it attains a senior member rank(high profile) and then create a new one which they will nurse till it also matures. I also heard about getting whitelisted for free where the proxiban fee meant for the amount of evil is bypassed. I want to know if it is allowed for one to own more than one account and if one can register without the evil fee?

I believe you've already gotten the answers you needed from members of the forum that replied to your post about allowing alt account and registration without evil fee, I actually don't even know there's something called evil fee because I have never attempted to open another account but having gotten opinion from users here on how one can bypass the proxiban fee I now begin to wonder why is it that users who have alt accounts doesn't link it with each other so that the forum members can be aware of the owner of the alt maybe like give a neutral feedback indicating that the other account is his alt, the only person I've observed and saw he has an alt account of which he gave a neutral feedback that showed the connection of the both accounts is @hugeblack.

He has made it very obvious that he has an alt account which is fare enough for every one to see rather than some persons that has an alt and pretends to be someone else like I don't even know how a user can use an alt account to hide their identity for so long.
614  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What happened to the Nigerian Currency? on: February 22, 2024, 10:01:21 PM
~~~
The Nigerian currency have been experiencing depreciation for a long time now and it is an issue of concern to her citizen as the devaluation has led to inflation and untold hardship on the people as every one is lamenting about the state of the Nigerian economy, though the cause of the devaluation has not really been specified and I must suggest that you move this topic to the Nigerian local board since the question is for Nigerians in the forum to answer and I believe you would get answers there rather than get it in this session.
615  Other / Off-topic / Re: All my social media friends don't want to reply me lately, dafuq is going on rn? on: February 22, 2024, 09:55:52 PM
not all people will nice to you, but if all of them not nice to you, it means there's something wrong with you.
I think you're obviously right because there's no way all your family or friends will ignore you totally without it being that that person is either mentally unstable or has a questionable character that made his loved ones discard his chats and don't care anymore about him so he should rather cross-examine himself to know actually what the cause might be and since he said they don't reply his chats he should get in touch with them facially and know the reasons for their actions then he would probably find out why they kept ignoring his chats and all that.
616  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Forex Crisis: FG plans to clampdown on Binance, and other crypto exchanges on: February 21, 2024, 09:17:01 PM
If the government like let them clampdown binance P2P there are still other exchanges that people would use to perform their p2p transactions so when one door closes, another opens, clamping down exchanges would not stop the devaluation of naira as they need to focus more on the root cause of naira devaluation for so many years now because our government knows the foundational causes of naira devaluation so until they cover that loophole then our currency would continue to suffer devaluation.
 I binance succumbs to these idea of the government then they would be the ones at a greater loss because a lot of Nigerians uses binance as their most preferred exchange so dancing to the tune of the government would further lead to reduction of the number of Nigerians that uses binance for their p2p transactions.
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: February 21, 2024, 09:07:41 PM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.
This attitude is very common among gamblers as some persons can even become aggressive when they are experiencing losses then in a case of winning they become so happy as some of them can even share part of the winnings with other gamblers around them, gambling shouldn't be played with emotions whether you win or not and one shouldn't be too emotionally attached to gambling such that any outcome of it would affect the gambler.
618  Economy / Economics / Re: I went London i have questions now the wealthy life there on: February 19, 2024, 03:02:59 AM
So far as I know, there is no report that there is a major crisis in London, UK, right now. Now, if you ask me if it is easy to survive there in that country, I think if you are not strategic, you will have a hard time surviving there. Because the cost of living there is too high now.
Properties and rentals are also expensive in London, and you know that. But there are many opportunities that you can find there that will suit your career.
It's easy to survive in London because no matter the high cost of living over there, there is also high employment rate and good payments so as you're earning higher that's also how your expenses would be higher but whichever way it is let the income be coming then even if you spend huge and live a good life I think it's the dream of every one to live in a comfortable environment that the atmosphere is filled with people who are happy and succeeding and i must tell you that London is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
When a nation plans very well, then developments and huge achievements awaits them so I believe that the government of London really made good efforts to make London what it is today and any country can achieve even more than London if they make good use of their natural resources and invest more on human capacity development and in less than no time, such country would really grow "thicker skin" as an evidence of good and healthy living.
619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a betting shop be so dubious like this on: February 19, 2024, 02:13:06 AM
The betting platform is not to be blamed as the victim gambled using a betting agent? But he went to their betting site headquarter with no help given.
He used the betting agent of the betting platform to gamble and he won $11800 when I converted the local currency to dollar. He said the owner of the betting shop travelled abroad but he met the workers. The workers wanted to scam the man by not giving him any money.
The people involved that wanted to scam the man have been taken to court. They were granted bail with two sureties and the case has been adjourned to match 4 2024.
Some people are just very dubious
https://punchng.com/bet-naija-attendant-friend-arraigned-for-allegedly-stealing-n16-7m
That's why online gambling is also good because you don't need anyone to pay you your winnings as you can just make withdrawals on your own without anyone even knowing though I also learnt that when a winning involves a huge amount of money that the gambler would undergo KYC on the online platform and do some verification and some gamblers also experienced that some KYC information takes longer time before validation so it's really frustrating when one wins a bet and finds it difficult to get his/her winning and most of this gambling companies are very dubious as what some of them does is to delay winnings and wait for a massive loss so that they can pay you from losses of other gamblers.
620  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60k possible before end of this month? on: February 19, 2024, 02:00:44 AM
From the look out of things there is no doubt that $60k is sure before the end of this month February reason being that bitcoin has surpasses the price of 50k and headed to $52k if I am not mistakenly and you can correct me if I am wrong.
Also does this proves the idea of most people saying that bitcoin could hit half a million dollars after the halving by 2025, does this sign proves it right?
Though I don't know much about what causes the movement of Bitcoin price but from my findings I get to understand that the number of spot Bitcoin ETFs flows also determines the velocity of Bitcoin price so speculating the price of Bitcoin by month end to be around $60k is rather too close because the inflows may not really be that much so I suggest your speculations should be towards a longer time instead of a shorter interval.
