601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Xmas Bull Run!! on: November 11, 2018, 12:42:49 AM
There may not be a big bull run as lots of people are anticipating because the market is still quite subdued with less hype to produce positive results but a small increase is possible especially by early next year if it doesn't improve in time for the festive season
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The bear market, a fix to greedy ICO's on: November 10, 2018, 09:42:04 AM
You are correct it's not as easy to raise funds when the market is in its present phase and this helps to eliminate a lot of projects that are trying to make quick cash grabs or con investors out of their money

When the market does improve hopefully there will be better quality projects and less risks for investors
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coin NEO for a long time? on: November 10, 2018, 06:52:59 AM
Ethereum was as cheap as $16~ once if you're viewing this from a long term perspective

NEO doesn't have anywhere near as much adoption or use cases yet or enough liquidity to support as many ICO's on its platform but if it gains more market share in the event of any positive developments in Asia you may be pleasantly surprised by the results
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is investing on ICOs still profitable? on: November 10, 2018, 05:31:46 AM
Investing in ICO's right now isn't as profitable as it was last year when the market was in a bubble phase because it's far less possible to make profits from quick flips, but if you focus on projects with unique ideas and real use cases plus strong partnerships etc you can still benefit in the long run
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of Bitcoin hit 12 to 13k end of this year? on: November 10, 2018, 03:45:24 AM
It should experience more of an uptrend in that direction this quarter but breaking through the $10,000 barrier once again before the years out might be impossible due to the current state of the market unless there's a positive ETF result but if it does then anythings possible!
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: McAfee tattoos skycoin, will this create fomo on: November 09, 2018, 05:42:05 AM
This is most likely just another crazy publicity stunt designed to generate FOMO Roll Eyes

McAfee also went overboard shilling SafeX once and that didn't really go anywhere either

It wouldn't be wise to invest purely based on these sorts of gimmicks
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICO prediction 2019 on: November 09, 2018, 04:13:49 AM
Next year the ICO market should still be quite healthy just there will be more regulation which will provide startups with clear guidelines on how to conduct their crowdsale with full compliance which will remove some of the risks investors face in the current market
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MonaCoin is the *100 Coin, it will be $1000 soon, you heard it here FIRST! on: November 09, 2018, 03:40:09 AM
Pumped and then... dumped!

Without a new marketing strategy or listing on bigger markets the value isn't likely to increase beyond it's current range anytime soon
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It can still happen again on: November 09, 2018, 02:58:27 AM
Another bubble is possible but if it does occur it might be some time away but there's plenty of developments that once in place will pave the way for a sizable increase in value of the major assets especially Bitcoin

If you're investing right now you shouldn't be in a losing position in a few years time if you choose wisely and don't just throw money at any project that promises quick returns or is fueled by too much hype and speculation
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why regular people are afraid to invest in Crypto on: November 09, 2018, 02:26:29 AM
A large portion of the general public still don't know that much about alternative currencies or how to properly buy, store and trade with them

Bitcoin is more widely known and even if it is banned in some regions that's what futures are for

Banks aren't very friendly toward individuals and startups that deal with cryptocurrency in general because it is disruptive
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to trade wisely on: November 08, 2018, 09:48:14 AM
Avoid pump and dumps like a plaque and don't get caught up in hype or FOMO and focus on making smaller profits considering the current market climate and you should do fine just ensure your activities are well researched and even try putting together a test portfolio first to evaluate its performance before making live trades

614  Other / Archival / Re: is EVERY ico a scam?? on: October 26, 2018, 02:57:09 AM
Not conclusively although a large percentage of them are

Investors should focus on projects that at least have a product demo / MVP ready not just a whitepaper, and a transparent team and proper advisors

There are too many low quality crowdsales with unoriginal ideas that have very little to offer except vaporware
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop panicking start believing! on: October 26, 2018, 02:12:25 AM
The current situation of bitcoin and all the crypto currencies were not good but it doesn't mean that this will be the end of the cryptos since we need to acknowledge that this is not the first time the crypto prices were falling this much so everyone needs to be patient and just get away from your panic this will help the prices to recover faster.Start believes that crypto currencies were going to be the future of this payment system and start HODLing that coins.

Placing a little less emphasis on how the media portrays the market can be a good start as the news shouldn't always drive market sentimentality

Instead evaluate all the pro's and con's relevant to your investment strategy and that should provide you with a solid basis to determine your portfolio's future potential
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When are we going to see an era like 2017 again? on: October 25, 2018, 04:02:26 AM
Virtually everyone is expecting another boom in the crypto space. We hope for another bullish market. The question we kept on asking ourselves is "When is bull run going to start?"

- 2018 does not really support the boom for most ICOs, unlike what we had in 2017.
- In 2017 airdrops were very profitable, unlike what we have in 2018, where most airdrops just seem useless.
... and the comparison continues ...

Despite all these, i can confidently say that, notwithstanding the bearish market, 2018 has been a very good year for both Traders and Investors alike.

The next major uptrend is practically impossible to predict but you're right about one thing the current market phase is great for investors to start accumulating as there's a lot of good value buys if you're looking to invest now and hold for at least 1-2 years

Sure airdrops might not be as rewarding as last year but if you focus on the good quality ones you may find there's some future benefits to collecting some of those as well
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I stopped trading. 3 reasons why. on: October 25, 2018, 02:22:56 AM
1) Too much stress.

Yes, I believe you understand me. My mood depended on one or another token value. I couldn't work sleep and eat. I was checking value for 15-20 times per day. I could not live like that any more.

2) Too much time.

Again, when you are checking value for 10-15 times per day it takes a lot of time. I was always tired and exchausted.

3) I started playing blockchain games (not gambling).

It could be called another addiction but I don’t care. I do like it much more. It interesting and funny. It seems like blockchain games take too much time and money. However, it’s not! Trading and bounty take waaaayyyyyy more!

UPD:

I've noticed a lot of questions about blockchain games. Here is my games list on product hunt https://www.producthunt.com/@house_lama/collections/blockchain-games

LOL! These are very good reasons for quitting the trading game

You can day trade quite successfully if you have enough experience but one mishap and a lot of your profits can vanish in one go so the argument for simply settling for a well balanced portfolio and waiting patiently for returns really does have merit in this scenario
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is bounty profitable? on: October 25, 2018, 01:22:35 AM
If you're not earning a satisfactory amount try choosing better campaigns especially ones that have a viable product, a decent rating and review and an achievable fund raising goal and that offer a decent allocation of 2% or more to the campaign or have low participants and require a higher standard of work

That way you'll enjoy a larger share of the rewards and you'll receive even more from creating original content like articles, videos and blog posts
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - a genuine Ethereum contender? on: October 22, 2018, 06:49:14 AM
ether is increasingly squeezed by many competitors like stellar, eos, waves and a new coin like universa, need some good news or new progress on ethereum from vitalik.

Stellar is gradually expanding its adoption but EOS is still relatively new and not so easy to use

Waves is still rather under utilized and Universa is far too new to be thrown into the same ballpark as the rest

The ICO market simply isn't growing at a quickly enough rate to fully cater to all platforms which means not all will flourish in the short term
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think 1 ETH in USD when about 2020 ? on: October 22, 2018, 05:56:45 AM
It's always fun to speculate about the future value of ETH even though its development is progressing very slowly

It's a well established project which obviously has potential to appreciate long term so it should perform well regardless of the latest trends
