602  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: September 11, 2015, 10:16:33 PM
I guess about 20-30% of the Bitcoins minted are lost forever

How do you get this information. Do you know how many bitcoins are available and 20-30% is simple a huge money lost.

I think he just made random number up. 20% would be almost 3 million bitcoins, which makes no sense to be true. If he moved it a couple of decimal places it
would be closer to true number of lost bitcoins imho.

I believe that people are much more careful today when dealing with bitcoin, so the number should not increase the way it did few years back, but there are always errors and accidents tho.

That's true, and the escrows are used in maximum nowadays. But i was feeling bad when a guy lost 40 BTC by sending to an address that can't transfer anymore.
603  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: September 11, 2015, 10:10:13 PM
WOOT, looks like the 3 years of time put into my account has made it valued at .94279500 btc.

I guess whoever offers that gets it Smiley

Lol, nice estimator, kind of fun.  I would say you need to adjust the algorithm a little bit though.  I had always considered that I could reasonably get 5 to 6 btc for this account, possibly more.

Still a unique spin on things, nicely done.

There is a website which i can't remember, it's similar to this but the whole page was in black, at the end you can change the parameters and estimate the price. When i find will send to you.

I think its this site you are looking for http://www.satoshiquiz.com/bitcointalk/getactivity.php

Bingo, yeah that was what i was looking for, good job. I think it is limited for free so hurry who wants to check the potential activity.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: September 11, 2015, 09:48:51 PM

At what price have you bought your bitcoin?(what is the price at the first stage?). Besides faucets mostly get by converting alt coins or by giveaways.

606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining on: September 11, 2015, 09:29:17 PM

Personally, I've never bought cloud mining and I only mine coins that have some sort of track record -- unless I'm feeling just crazy (which is rare these days - lol).  I don't buy coins on the exchanges -- only sell.

Have I lost money from mining the wrong coin?  Sure -- everyone does.  Do I mine scam coins?  Or brand new coins?  No.

Do altcoins have any real purpose - in my opinion?  Hard to say -- most of them -- probably not.  Maybe to test out new technologies - but I've yet to see any coins used for anything mainstream but to be converted to BTC in the end.

If you dont buy coins (btc or/and alts?) then how do you get? Just by mining or converting anything else? Cloud mining seems to be risky.
607  Other / Off-topic / Re: How Apple could easily backdoor iMessage for the FBI (without you knowing it) on: September 11, 2015, 09:16:50 PM
Everything was created to track their users, old is gold so better to move to Nokia 3310

I don't think I use any of the features on my smartphone. All I do is call people and occasionally send texts.

If you don't use any apps you would be better off with a simple phone.

I probably would be, but I think Authenticator/2 Factor auth is a great feature.

This is for security to protect the online accounts, but in general smartphones can be tracked.
608  Other / Off-topic / Re: What was BTC price? on: September 11, 2015, 09:15:48 PM
It was around $1000 when i first time read an article on Bitcoins but thought it was fake or spam. Now I hate myself for not believing this crypto  Sad
But later on there was major fall in bitcoin prices, now just hope that the prices will go high soon.

I think that you were lucky that you didn't invested in bitcoin at that time. That time was very critic.

oh sorry to here that. but i think theres no chance to take back your btc.
or it has .01% of chance... when the cameras in mcdonald take the face of it.
and when the policeman got the guy. then he still have the btc in his. then you can take it back.
but i doubt it. i wonder dont he have any information about himself in the laptop or iphone that
he left to you? and its so crazy that you meet him and he still scammed you. your not being careful my friend.
well goodluck. hope you still can take it.

We are talking for ~18,000 USD worth of bitcoin, and a fingerprint scan from police is necessary. I am interested if they catch the thief yet?

Is signed message necessary?

Not yet, you have to be abled to sign a message from that address in case you lose controll over your account and try to reclaim it.

Ok then. I just asked it bcuz I can see some posted signed messages

If you know how to sign and you have signed before then it's ok. But if not then you should try because on some wallets you can't sign message.

613  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] COINUT.COM ★ Signature Campaign ★ Pay per post ★ Weekly ★ on: September 11, 2015, 03:23:21 PM
What day of the week do you pay out? Smiley

I analyzed and i can say that his campaign runs and pay every 8 days and not weekly(7 days). You can check the spreadsheet.

I would like to have an answer from wangxinxi and izanagi, why lying that it is weekly when in fact it is 8days.

I would like to imagine that you are paid on the 8th day so that you can get 7 full days of actual posting time.

You are wrong. Calculate yourself when will you get your payment it always move 1 week + 1 day = 8 days.
Last Payments: Campaign Period :

3rd Aug to 10th Aug 2015      === It was Monday
11st Aug to 18th Aug 2015     === It was Tuesday
19th Aug to 26th Aug 2015    === It was Wednesday
27th Aug to 3rd Sept 2015     === It was Thursday
4th Sept to 11th Sept 2015    === It will be Friday (Today)

Weekly means that you will be paid like every Monday like Coinomat which i am there.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining on: September 11, 2015, 03:06:05 PM
Hmm - have you seen the movie "Grumpy Old Men?"  LOL

Not all alt coins are scams.  I don't see your reasoning here.

You mine a coin with your own equipment and you are guaranteed to be hashing at that coin.  What coin you pick, how you trade it, etc. is up to you.

Or you send money to a Cloud Mining Service -- aka Ponzi Mining Service.  They take your money, they say they are mining, pay you a little here and there and then eventually disappear.  Total scam.

There is no comparison.

Most of them are, but some are very serious and long term like DOGE NXT DASH STR ETH etc, which i prefer them.
615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: September 11, 2015, 02:47:54 PM
Earned again another decent amount of satoshis today from referring a user in a local wallet exchange here in our country.

Good job, May i know What are the referral commission if you refer another user?

I will receive 4000 bits then the referral will have 2000 bits if succesfully verified. Good side earnings while doing other bitcoin earning method.

Can you send me the link in pm or you can post publicly here too, i am interested Smiley

Hmm I don't know if it will benefit you or you can use their features much because it is based on our country and some of their services are based here.

Well maybe it will be useful I am sending you a pm now, why not trying these benefits 4000 bits Smiley
616  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: September 11, 2015, 02:41:59 PM
Mitchełł, would you like me to take over? I should be able to update it on a daily basis / every few days, at least (starting this weekend).

I wonder how is that possible? I haven't seen to give thread rights to edit it? I check a thread in local/indonesian which is updated every few days.

Well, it might be possible to transfer ownership of a thread and/or post from one user to another, but I suppose it would be better to create another thread (probably still following the format Mitchełł has for the OP) - a post could then be left here redirecting to the new overview thread, while this one could safely be locked, to avoid confusion.

In this way then yes it is possible. In this thread to be just the link of the new post. Otherwise transferring ownership of a thread haven't seen before.

618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining on: September 11, 2015, 02:16:07 PM
None of them, they all are produced for mining and humans are hard coded to want wealth and not apply it to others. They are all made with the maker's profit in mind and not for your intentions.
Just buy an S7.

The ROI just take too long and there is full of stress if the rig if mining or not, is the internet connection down or up, it's better to have your rig but cloud mining is easy and very dangerous.
619  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people are using Bitcoin debit card? on: September 11, 2015, 02:10:52 PM
I don't think that many people are using Bitcoin debit cards. People are still not clear with the concept of crypto currency, many thinks that it is a scam and will loose their money, there is no future for bitcoins etc. Once all these doubts are cleared and people started trusting and using the bitcoins as mode of payment then there will be increase in the users of Bitcoin Debit Card.

Who should clear these doubts? there is no CEO, no company that invented the bitcoin. If these debit cards are free as the bitcoin is and small fee everyone will order and use it as it is very useful.
620  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: September 11, 2015, 02:03:59 PM
Can satoshi or the main of the bitcoin who made it, can he decide to recover the lost bitcoins that people lost them.

no there is no bitcoin CEO, and satoshi wasn't a ceo of bitcoin either, it always based on consensus

you can't go there and add a random amount to the supply just to retrieve those lost coins(which are actually a good thing for the future value), i'm not saying that it cannot be done, i'm saying that miners in primis should be favorable to it, and i doubt they are...

Then who was satoshi nakamoto ? Can the current rules change and make bitcoin reversible so you can recover the lost bitcoins?
