601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 212: Aldo vs Holloway Info and Prediction Thread on: June 09, 2017, 02:56:05 PM
@freeyourmind. I do not think Dana White is only like an employee now. He still has an interest of 9% of profits made by the company. He also still runs the show and has the power to make the decisions on matchmaking and other deals.

Yeah you're right.  I know he sold his 9% share, but didn't know he still received 9% of future profits without that share in the company.  I stand corrected.

Although he definitely has different objectives, so it's not him totally running the show.  The UFC is run very differently before and after the sale.  It's about max viewership now, so fighters that are skilled and not the most popular, don't really get many opportunities.  We can see the behaviour of fighters changing, and artificially talking shit and being their own version of Conor to try and get some attention and viewership.

Im pretty sure White is very well off and retired for life, he will keep getting dividends from the company. I only see the UFC going higher and eventually will be able to get massive paydays for the fighters boxing style.

It depends on how good the fights are, it all comes down to that. If they give us the fights we want it will be a success.
602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin on satoshi and his visit to CIA on: June 09, 2017, 02:28:07 PM
Blockstream/Core propagandists will tell you that he purposefully pushed Satoshi out by going to the CIA for nefarious reasons.

But honestly that really doesn't make any sense to me.  It seems as if Satoshi went to great lengths to protect his anonymity, so for one, I really don't understand why Satoshi got spooked just by someone else going and talking to the CIA.

And what would Gavin have to gain from all of that?  It's not like he got paid or gained a whole lot more "power" than he already had.  The thing about open sourced projects is that it's open for anyone to contribute... so Gavin cooperating with the CIA for "nefarious" reasons doesn't make much sense.

How do you know he didn't got pay?

Of course this is just all speculation and nobody knows, but you can't claim he didn't got pay to push a certain agenda or otherwise.

Also notice anti-blockstream people would claim this is a conspiracy, while using other conspirations to attack blockstream.

603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Gavin on satoshi and his visit to CIA on: June 08, 2017, 06:26:21 PM
I heard several times how satoshi disappeared after Gavin said that he was going to the CIA to give a talk or something. I found this video with Gavin confirming this is true:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pWblf8COH4&t=5m37s

"I don't know if that was the reason... but it certainly didn't help."

Well you fucking bet.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 212: Aldo vs Holloway Info and Prediction Thread on: June 08, 2017, 02:51:19 PM
Regarding Jose Aldo, my personal opinions say that somewhere in his career in UFC, I suspect that does PEDs in the Chad Mendes(another suspected steroids user-his body is screaming with steroids. LOL) fight. I think he likely stop using PEDs in the McGregor fight and the fight with Max Holloway.
You can only speculate whether he was doing that or not, with the loss to McGregor, Aldo is a different fighter,he never landed any leg kicks and his game plan for the entire fight was just stupid and it is a well known fact that Jose Aldo does not have a great stamina and that is how the match ended,he was explosive and aggressive when the busted into the scene,i would like to see that version of Aldo in future fights .

Yes. It seems that he's lost to McGregor was still in his mind. That lost really took a tool of Jose Aldo. He is still a skilled fighter no doubt, but it looks like its more on a mental for him. Its like a skeleton on his closet really. I'm also hope that Jose Aldo can go back to his old version, but I doubt it. He needs to get a win to boost his confidence. A really good win against top player to be in the contention again.

Conor McGregor already destroyed the soul of Jose Aldo as a fighter on their last match, in that day Aldo's era has ended. He came back after the that loss and fought with Frankie Edgar (win via unanimous decision), still his prime is not fading. I watched Aldo's interview after the loss to Max Holloway he said "We go down so we can get back up'", I hope to see the classic Aldo in the future.

Conor will enjoy his unbeatable aura for as long as he doesn't come back into the UFC.

Honestly I think his career is over. He will fight Floyd, get 9 figures, then come back to the UFC to:

1) Fight Khabib
2) Fight Fergusson
3) Fight Woodley

All of these guys can beat him, it could be ugly if he goes into the floor with Khabib, or Woodley due the weight difference.

I hope I can be proved wrong, and if someone can prove me wrong and do incredible things then that has to be McGregor.

I'm interested to see Connor fight Khabib. Hard core fight fans has been calling this fight to happen in more than a year. Khabib has been holding one of the longest winnings(undefeated) in the UFC. I hope Khabib can recover back and fight either Ferguson for the interim belt of fight Connor just for the sake of seeing who will be the top dog of Lightweight division.

Dana White is a businessman and knows Conor McGregor is the UFC cashcow. If he fights Khabib, he is risking his cashcow. Look at Ronda Rousey, she was a solid cashcow, now her career is over.

But like I said before, all of his possible fights (that the fans want to watch) are an huge risk for Conor.

Woodley, Khabib, Ferguson... lets see how Conor handles that.
605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please, Stop Calling Bitcoin "Digital Gold" on: June 08, 2017, 01:58:09 PM
I have seen people start to call BTC "Digital Gold" in a delusional attempt to ignore serious issues.
Please pay attention to this fact:
"Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" ~Satoshi

BTC is not "Digital Gold" as our founder clearly stated.
Bitcoin is an amazing experiment which is currently on life support, despite the rush of fools who insist on recreating a Tulip Bubble Ponzi Mania.

Please, Stop Calling Bitcoin "Digital Gold".
Thank you.

ps. (Unanswered from a previous thread)
What "store of value" is relevant when suddenly ~ hundreds of thousands of merchants worldwide can no longer accept BTC due to high fees?

True or False?
"Digital Gold" is a BS claim from people who deny the reality of the current crisis?

True or False?
Do you want BTC to be only for rich people?

Can you explain how bitcoin can be "peer to peer cash" if in order to make mainstream level of onchain transactions the nodes would be needed to be run under datacenters?

What's peer to peer or cash about it if you are going through a corporation of miners that validate transactions too?

Get real, bitcoin's only true value is digital gold. If you want to build the lightning network on top of that so poor people can use bitcoin too then that's awesome.

But big blockers are truly retarded.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Cuban's attack on Bitcoin on: June 08, 2017, 11:53:48 AM
Mark Cuban, just another idiot that won the lottery and now he thinks he is an eminence of every subject and his opinion on this should matter a lot because he has a billion for a networth. No thanks.

608  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: June 07, 2017, 05:33:33 PM
Guys like you always lose. You will spend your life fruitless i know people like you. Stuck in their ways cant see the market. Dont try to make the market do what you want do what the market wants. Gold is hopeless.. it was left behind for a reason. Commodities are headed back to utility value and under that to test miner resolve. After that we will see black swan which will send it to some nice lows. Then we will see.

What a load of shit.  A "black swan" to send metals to "nice lows" HAHA.  The only black swan capable of doing anything to metals is a black hole swallowing the earth.  Meanwhile, there's about 1 million black swans that can destroy bitcoin.  So many liars in this thread claiming bitcoin is a more sound monetary system.  Anonymint has also jumped on the lying bandwagon where he used to parrot Armstrong's claim that the purpose of metals are "a hedge against government", then he started claiming cryptocurrency is better than metals except cryptocurrency provides no hedge against government whatsoever.  Cryptocurrency is a massive counter party risk to government.  You're using the governments infrastructure to even use it for fucks sake.  So by his own definition there is no purpose to cryptocurrency.

This doesn't seem like a good hedge against government. Sure laws are laws and they are there to be (or not) followed, so you could hide your shit, but it's still there somewhere and they can find it.

If you hide a bitcoin wallet inside an encrypted hidden volume you can claim plausible deniability. So gold being a physical thing (that so many goldbugs love because "if you can't touch it then it's useless") is its greatest mistake.

Also have fun trying to cross any borders carrying gold. Tbh gold is useless in a post-encryption environment. Sure, there's a lot of problems that come with using something like bitcoin, but overall it beats gold as "a hedge against government" in my book.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what is STRAT exactly? on: June 06, 2017, 06:14:05 PM
Did you even look at the image? The only reason for which ETH has got a ton of companies is because: 1) Network effect in the smart contracts area. 2) Semi-centralized coin. Stratis having a similar platform with C# instead of the crappy language used in ETH already makes it superior.

"Why people not just use Litecoin?"

First mover advantage is huge. I don't think corporations give a fuck about it being "semi-centralized".
I doubt the change in coding language is enough to challenge ETH's advantage.

Maybe if there's a DAO 2.0, holding STRAT may bring massive profits, OR loss of confidence is lost in the whole "smart contract coins" and all go red.

Are you trying to get me to call you an idiot on purpose? You are comparing a 100% gain to a 100 000+% gain. As I've told you before, no ICO comes even close to Stratis.

So fucking what. The point is to make profit, %100 is still profit.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do most people consider most ICOs or Altcoins as scams on: June 06, 2017, 05:40:39 PM
Most ICOs are just BTC grab attempts, they want to get your bitcoins, that's all. They could file bankruptcy and run with the money.

Nonetheless, lots of ICO's give %1000+ profits, but it's a must that the ICO is not overbought, otherwise it will be harder to grow.

Look at the Bancor ICO, it's fucking huge, it's going to get 900 millions or something, so you are looking at a coin that needs to be top 10 in marketcap to get some growth...
611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GGG vs Canelo betting thread on: June 06, 2017, 04:33:22 PM
This is a fight where we can see the best fighter among these boxer's. I think GGG will still take over this fight, he's strength is unquestionable. Canelo on the other hand will try he's best to keep up with Golovkin. It's like a Mayweather versus Manny fight where Manny will be GGG and Canelo will be Mayweather. Canelo will keep running for sure and GGG will be more ogre or aggressive on this fight. I am still not sure about who will take over about the promotions but I am hoping that if the Golden boy promotion will get this, I am praying that it be fair for GGG if it will come to a decision result.

Well, if you want to watch a masterclass of the smaller guy beating the bigger guy then watch Floyd Mayweater vs Corrales:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l79SJwyiQQw

He outboxed a guy that's way bigger, that is what Canelo needs to do against a guy like GGG, the question is, can Canelo box at Mayweather level?  I doubt it, and GGG is a better boxer than Corrales (and Corrales is a future hall of famer)... very difficult fight for Canelo, not impossible tho.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 212: Aldo vs Holloway Info and Prediction Thread on: June 06, 2017, 03:00:24 PM
No one keeps records on the negative effects of PED's afaik but Kimbo Slice & Kevin Randleman dying prematurely at relatively young ages could be because of steroids. A lot of professional WWE/WWF wrestlers have also died young from steroid/drug abuse. I hope those who feel tempted to take steroids think twice, it can have a lot of negative long term consequences.
You really cannot confirm the death of Randleman and Kimbo is solely because of PED use, look at the fights they have being it can be because of long term trauma ,you can only speculate about it,most of the WWE starts your mentioned died young because of the drug abuse ,mainly synthetic and other drugs and a mixture of PED to ripe their body, those combinations are deadly.

Kevin Randleman's official reason of death was "pneumonia". It's too hard to know what cause it specifically.

Kimbo was a street fighter, those fights are brutal, then again he usually fucked everyone up. He was never a top professional, and Kevin got a 17–16 record so that's a lot of damage.

Nontheless pretty sure they were on the juice, but that's a standard in the sport.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The BANCOR ICO will be uncapped on: June 06, 2017, 12:40:59 PM
The BANCOR ICO will be uncapped for 1 hour. I don't see how anyone can expect massive gains if the ICO raises a shitton of money. The key to get rich from an ICO is to buy an ICO that is undervalued (like STRAT). But with Bancor, im not sure if we can expect big gains. The BAT ICO made 37 million dollars in like 30 seconds.. so if the Bancor ICO goes on for an hour and at uncapped rate, it could reach like 1 billion dollar... what margin of growth you have then?
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would be the next 3 most promising ICOs? on: June 05, 2017, 05:54:12 PM
Radix and Tezos will be very interesting ICOs...

But there are two very interesting and extremely undervalued coins:

Qtum, the chinese response to ethereum with crazy volume on chinese exchanges

Minereum: tradeble on livecoin only, but based on ethereum, and probably next for adding on bittrex with increasing trading volume and value... remember, minereum has unique features, a big community and is extremely undervalued...

But what's the actual point of minereum? what's the value proposition of this thing? what the fuck does it do?

Im losing it with so many fucking coins, this is nuts. And the worst part is, everyone shilling their coins never explain what it actually does besides "has unique features, a big community and is extremely undervalued...". Give me a break.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 212: Aldo vs Holloway Info and Prediction Thread on: June 05, 2017, 04:35:14 PM
Jose Aldo was making a good job until he got rocked. He was throwing good jabs but the other guy got some good angles counter attacking and he was able to throw him at the floor and fuck shit up.

Holloway and Conor is now in the realm of possibility but I think we all want to see Tony Ferguson, Khabib, or even Tyron Woodley above a Holloway fight.

Conor will fight Mayweather first before an UFC fight tho. But then one of those guys will fight Conor.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GGG vs Canelo betting thread on: June 05, 2017, 04:08:53 PM
I'm on Canelo. Good luck!!!

I can't go with Canelo... unless Canelo has improved x1000 since he fought Mayweather. Mayweather made Canelo look like an amateur. He has more experience now, but Golovkin got the experience too, it's undefeated, and got the size and reach advantage.

Very thought night for Canelo.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what is STRAT exactly? on: June 04, 2017, 03:14:36 PM
Watch this and hold!

P.S I put image in [img] tags but doesnt show up :X
That is because you are a newbie. This looks like a very good comparison and explains why Stratis is undervalued. It's actually going to be superior to ETH.

How? ETH got a ton of companies already and is monopolizing the smart contracts niche. Do you really think Stratis can compete? Also there are more competitors coming like Ubiq... maybe Ubiq is a better pic?

I doubt it.

But look at this shit:

There's a ton of %1000+ performers. All of the decent ones actually. Then there's a ton more around %100-%999.

Even if it says since ICO, if you bought when those hit the markets, you would still be pretty well off.

If you want massive gains, comparable to Stratis, the ICO needs to have a fairly low CAP/raised amount. Otherwise it will not work. It needs to be $10m or less.

But the fun fact is, even after the shitshow that BAT was, with tons of money raised and most of it by whales, if you bought in the market, you would already be up %100+:

618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MaidSafe undervalued? on: June 04, 2017, 02:20:31 PM
Total supply is like 450,000,000 so it may not be as undervalued. Also remember that this project has been on development for ages. We were supposed to get the final Safecoin transition and finally be able to hold coins locally.

As far as I know local wallets don't even exist yet so basically you have to rely on Poloniex to hold which is stupid.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gennady_Golovkin_vs._Canelo_%C3%81lvarez

Didn't see this one created so im opening it myself. It's one of the biggest boxing fights in years, it's going to have an huge price pot.

The rumor is it's going to be 16th September of this year at 168 lbs... I think GGG is going to fuck Canelo up but he has improved a lot in the past few years, but my bet its going to go for a triple G win... possibly by KO.

PS: Mods please move this thread to "gambling discussion" subforum.
620  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BIP 148 benefits and badness on: June 03, 2017, 05:32:10 PM
It brings Segwit, whether miners like it or not.

You make it happen by running the BIP148 version of the Bitcoin client, which you get from the link near the top of this thread. (mega.nz link at the bottom of the top post)

doesn't it require a decent amount of mining too? i've seen some people talking about firing up miners but i assume they're a drop in the ocean for now.

Obviously it needs mining, a chain without a hashrate is useless, but the whole thing is about the snowball/domino effect, where the more hashrate it has, the easier it is to get more hashrate, since miners will start getting nervous past 20%. Remember that legacy will be at constant risk of reorg pretty much forever.
