I was on a pretty old client, and I just dowloaded the new one with the bootstrap file as instructed. When I open the client it doesn't recognize the boostrap file and starts syncing from 0%, from which it has not moved. Ideas?

Plz, check the relevant information in the FAQ section:

603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The full truth behind ShadowCash/Coin trolls and their attacks on other coins. on: April 10, 2015, 05:40:41 PM
It`s so pity that ShadowCash community is only known everywhere for their fudding campaign against prosperous coins.

Instead of concentrate their financial and human resources to develop their own coin, they make all efforts do destroy other coins.

Coin PoS age: Min. 3 days / Max. 9 days / coins stop aging at 15 days

i dont quite understand that.

my coins will start staking after 3 days? after 9 days it wont stake anymore?
and what do you mean it will stop aging at 15 days?

do i need to resend the coins after 9 days or after 15 days?

You don`t have to send your coins anywhere. Leave your coins in your wallet and keep staking. As long as you have coins in your wallet you will never stop to earn annual 20%.

@ madmartyk

Limited number of buyers is a temporary problem. Step by step the number of SYS marketplace will grow.

But how can we resolve the high conversion (fiat/crypto and vise versa) fees problem???
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: April 07, 2015, 02:56:01 PM
is this the same as silkmarket 1 or 2 which is centralized?

The market is full in Blockchain, total decentralization market place, Web is use as interface to interact easily.

Now imagine when it's complete and if some big investor use this to develop competitor for Amazon and Ebay.

Besides the fact Syscoin Market is decentralized, what other advantages does it have vs Amazon and Ebay?

Amazon and Ebay have their own offers... no sharing.. imagine NewBay which can take both of the offers off of ebay/amazon for free and list them on their website, charging a small fee through a payment gateway.

Today you have that via centralized API's that maybe amazon/ebay would let people use (probably for a fee)... or scrape websites which is stupid. Now if those API's were not 100% secure then your website would suffer.

You can create your own offers and share them to the world.. so anyone can see your offers on "their" marketplace websites if they think you would bring value to their site.

To add to Jag's info, using Syscoin's marketplace is a no-brainer for any merchant.
The last time I sold stuff on e-bay, it cost me about 12-13% just to sell (3% to paypal, 10% to ebay-if you want the add to stick out). That's huge, if you normally made 20% profit on a cash transaction sale, that means that you would only make 7% with ebay. Since the marketplace is on the blockchain, Syscoin fees are negligible and are only to run the network (like bitcoin but much less expensive).

Also, there's so many things that you cannot do with Paypal for example:

-Items that are considered obscene
-Sexually oriented materials or services
-Weapons (even though their sale may be fully legal where they are being sold)
-Purchases of real property, annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts
-Money Service Business activities: the sale of traveler’s checks or money orders, currency exchanges or check cashing
-involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.
-Etc, etc, etc...

See Paypal's acceptable use policy, most credit card providers have similar policies:

https://www.paypal.com/ca/webapps/mpp/ua/acceptableuse-full

Very low fees is also an enormous advantage of decentralized markets vs Amazon and Ebay.

But the conversion fees fiat/crypto and cryto/fiat (which veries from 5 to 10%) is somehow a burden for vendors and buyers to my opinion.

So.... looking at the development road map, it looks like the online platform will come next, followed by the stealthsend whitepaper, stealthsend and then the open bazaar flavored marketplace.

I totally understand time-frames are tough to call when speaking about development, but has the dev team given any rough estimates regarding the roadmap?

The dev team can`t give exact dates of the roadmap. The next release will be online  webwallet with stealth addresses. The platform is not far from completion.

StealthSend will be a unique tech like StealthClient and StealthText which are extraordinary products in crypto world.

As for the StealthCoin based marketplace, as soon as fully working and bug-free decentralized markets are released, we will take the best one and fork it for StealthCoin.

Well explaination by MR1.Stealthcoin will deliver because is best coin and has best devteam behind it.

Since MR1 joined the dev team everything are going smoother. Your hard work is very much appreciated!

Thank you very much guys for the compliments!

We all contribute in StealthCoin`s progress. Our strength is in our unity!

Cheers.

614  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Bitcoin actually just a Pump and Dump? on: April 06, 2015, 04:30:47 PM
No. If this was the case Satoshi would have dumped his coins and bought his own island by now. That's not to say he wont dump them in the future but there's always the risk.

How do you know Satoshi still holds his coins???  Grin

How difficult would XST/Trezor integration be?

Everything is feasible, but at his stage the dev team is busy to complete the products on the roadmap step by step.

Sure, no worries.... I'm down for the step by step roadmap completion as well!! The thought of Trezor crossed my mind, so figured I would ask Smiley

You are welcome!

Feel free to share us your ideas about XST Smiley

Recently purchased some XST and downloaded the WIN wallet (super dope wallet design btw Cool)..... Successfully used bootstrap from the OP. It took approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to validate with 33M download speed.

Still downloading the remainder of the blockchain..... My wallet has only progressed 1% in 35 minutes, since validating bootstrap file. I closed and reopened wallet, but no improvements. No worries, I'm patient....but if there's a trick, I'd like to know.... Smiley

I'm bout to be staking my first XST.....!!

peace,
clovis

Also note that the team will soon begin to work on rendering StealthClient synchronization easier.
Making StealthText user friendly and easy is also on the roadmap.
