601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upgrade bitcoin.org on: March 05, 2013, 10:41:39 PM
I'd remove the random vertically-scrolling text on the sides. It's a neat effect, but it also makes the page unnecessarily complicated, and Bitcoin is complicated enough to understand for noobs already. We want people to go to this site and think "Oh, this is simpler than I thought it would be!"

Also this:

I would change the word Vocabulary. Terminology sounds better.

I don't think friedcat wanted all 275 shareholders to reply to this thread to confirm their transactions. Probably best to only reply if you don't see your address in the transactions.
603  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: February 26, 2013, 01:25:32 AM
what's the best estimate of what ASICMINER has earned sense friedcat confirmed it was them on BTCGUILD?

202blocks*25BTC=5050 BTC (http://www.btcguild.com/halloffame.php)

minus fee, power and labor

Is there any info on whether ASICMINER is doing PPS or PPLNS?
604  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: February 25, 2013, 03:57:37 AM
Hmm. miners going offline en masse, hashrate down to 2 TH/s.

They're getting ready for larger deployment? Pool transition? Solo mining? The miners are malfunctioning? Friedcat tripped on the power cord for one of the racks?

</speculation>

*snicker*

Needs to be at the location. Remote PR is useless.

Has to be - like as personal assistent for communication i.e. secretary

We dont need another person like Inaba or MPOE-PR

This, this, this, a thousand times, this. Friedcat has provided shareholders with awesome weekly updates. Stop being impatient.

I've reconsidered your request for the trade. I'll trade 11 DMC for 1 ASICMINER

Would you do 8 ASICMINER shares for 83 DMC shares?

No, but I'll do it for 88. The shares are cheap on Bitfunder, get them while you still can.

77 for 7 then. Let me know how I should proceed.

I'm going to keep a list of trade offers. ASICMINER prices could peak above 1 BTC, so this is a great deal.

Scratch my previous trade offer, I just realized I have 88, not 83. I'll trade 88 DMC for 8 ASICMINER.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Qt / bitcoind version 0.8.0 release candidate 1 on: February 19, 2013, 12:12:33 AM
Gavin & co. Can't you guys speed things up a bit? Right now we're getting a lot of good quality publicity and I think it would be a real shame to see all these new potential users get to bitcoin.org and download 7.2 which is very likely going severely disappoint them..

If there aren't any bugs, and there appear to not be any reports of bugs, can you move things a long a bit faster? Or is there something that still needs to be done?

I'd rather have a stable release than an early release one if that's the choice.

I agree, but I also agree with hazek in the sense that it's not cool to turn off new comers. So, maybe we should not direct them immediately to bitcoin-qt on bitcoin.org... maybe we should make sure they see a list of available clients before downloading any?

It'd be nice if the download section on the right of bitcoin.org had one link to the clients page, and nothing else. New users generally are going to click on the first download button they see, but if they are presented with multiple options they will be more inclined to either experiment a little or research the different types of clients.

Zefir: There's definitely someone on OzCoin increasing his/her hashrate.... but no name (Anonymous).... up to 600GH/s at the moment

Your link is bad and you should feel bad.
610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC: $2M+ a year for a $30k investment? WAT?! on: February 18, 2013, 03:28:42 PM
That initial $30k investment is also a huge risk. There's the risk that the ASICs won't perform up to their advertised specs, the risk that the company will never ship their product, the risk that difficulty will be too high by the time one receives their ASIC, etc...

On top of those risks, one's profits also depend on the Bitcoin network being a long-term success.

Knowing friedcat, we won't hear anything until tomorrow regardless of who the mystery miner is.  Wink

Not complaining or anything, of course. His nearly-religious Thursday updates have been awesome.

Just refreshed this thread, noticed the title changed from [4000 GH] to [5000 GH].

There's a miner with 800GH/s on BTCGuild. Has ASICMiner started hashing? Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49417.msg1522013#msg1522013

Just warning:  User 67117 is NOT 3 TH/s right now.  I'm helping the user with some internal setup and reset their cached speed calculations, which caused a huge spike in hash rate to show up.  Do not panic Smiley.
For a second I thought someone from BFL is mining at your pool.

You're not too far off.

I'll just leave this here.

Happy Chinese new year. The year of the snake will bite as usual.
Luckily friedcat et al. have prepared some antivenom for us. May the hashing commence.

I can no longer access the account I use as the password no longer works and there is no way to recover it. Thanks for nothing.

I assume you talk to me. Your tone stinks.

You sold all your seats.

No seats = non-member.

Non-member accounts terminated after 24 hours.

Thank you for playing.

I like this policy, I have many accounts on the net that I simply don't use anymore, and it'd be good to have some deleted after so long.

I sold all my seats a while ago, so I'm assuming my account is terminated as well. That's fine, but I think increasing the timeframe for termination from 24 hours to a week or so would be reasonable... Some people might sell all their seats, but plan to buy some back after a day or so.

Im glad for Avalon, I really am. It must be a hard thing not to take the BTC and run to the Gayman Islands like BFL, Bitcoinica, and the rest did.
For providing false info onto the forum while being "staff member" you should be banned. You should NEVER be a moderator here or anywhere else.

Regardless of whether Diablo was being sarcastic or not, I don't think anyone is going to believe him when he says that BFL ran off to the Gayman Islands.

You're seriously saying Diablo should be banned for joking about BFL running with their money? They brought all of this community's criticism upon themselves. It's not slander at this point, even if they do deliver.

Great to see this finally up and running!

One thing:

Want to make 20% of our profits? Join our affiliate program! We're accepting a limited number of affiliates at this time.
If you are interested please create an account and submit a support ticket. Did I mention that you get 20%?

BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE! You also get 20% of the 20% of profit from sales for any affiliate under you. And this stacks. Forever.

Not sure I'd use this, but I can't find where one would sign up for the affiliate program on the site.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Looking for a guide to 51% attacks on: January 29, 2013, 06:42:47 PM
1. Control >50% of the network hashrate.
2. Mine blocks faster than the rest of the network.
3. ? ? ?
4. PROFIT!

Try it!
