I recommend the boardmembers get together and vote for a official spokesperson who can be reached easier. This company is being valued depending on which trade you follow around 5,4 million $. Time for a hole PR team  |

Although all that is true, I was tempted to believe the naive part would be to NOT know that. Yes - and I just wanted to point it out. However, the fact that the correction factor itself is competitive was not obvious to me. |

PR is totally useless for a company like ASICMINER, because ASICMINER doesn't need any realation to the "public".
I think you just mean more information for the shareholders, which can be achieved much cheaper, than some
overprised PR-Guy.

The yellow one is a meter longer, we hope this does not add any lag" At the end of the day, what does it matter? People around here are so fuckin needy for no real gain.
I digress, but as a Sysadmin... gotta make sure everything is colour coded and wired cleanly on the Racks  . On Topic... Glad to hear Dividends are coming out soon. I don't recall reading of this - but is there a location we can read the total dividend accumulation or just ballpark it based on btcguild + shares found? -VJ |

So the ones at ozcoin really are avalonusers. I wondered about that since the avalon user thread became active more and more.
But what i wonder about is that till now only a fraction of the 12TH are online. And it looks like they now have 3,6TH online. 8 days before it was 2TH. So 0.2TH per day came online. That means a problem. The 12TH would be online in 42 days. Not to say something about the 50TH coming in some days.
I think something mus happen here. I wonder whats the thing thats eating so much time and if this step cant be changed, outsourced or whatever because the speed now wont lead to success.
I wonder how avalon did the same in a much shorter timeframe if they really were able of sending out so many items in so short time? Did they manufacture everything ready to go at a factory?

Avalon previously said that they were assembling around 12 units a day. They said that they had shipped a batch of 53 before CNY but it likely didn't clear customs before then - it might be those units which have now reached end users. If Avalon is smart, they've continued assembling units over CNY and should have quite a few ready to ship now the holiday period is over. I think what people want from friedcat is a timeline for bringing the rest of the 12 TH online. I understand his reluctance to give one. We've already seen how people take "we hope to" statements as if they were set in concrete, and it probably is best to not get sucked into that game. |
All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Im not sure when the chinese government will think its prudent to do so. I guess its like asking why the US convinced the saudis to price oil in USD. |

Hashing power has in practice nothing to do with network security. What matters is the total investment in the mining sector. Just before ASICs came out, assuming average dollar cost of H/s for GPUs and FPGAs, the investment was on the order of several tens of millions of dollars. Now, with all the ASIC hysteria and BTC price rising, mining sector may be overinvested (and miners will soon learn this the hard way, unless the price keeps rising), we may be dealing with 40-80 million USD. That's the real measure of network (in)security, as that's what it takes to dominate the network. By the way, this is peanuts even for the governments of Thailand, Canada, or Nigeria - mentioning China or the U.S. in this context is plain ridiculous. Also, this is peanuts for the majority of multinational corporations. |
