601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm planning on hosting a BTC seminar and a friend also followed my path on: January 15, 2023, 09:11:41 PM
Tech itself is sellable idea to show to the public because its use case is outstanding and they can use this on their daily transaction.

Very wrong to introduce this as investment especially to those people who doesn't know about this since it will just create wrong impression and instead they get positive result they might get scam by multiple platforms or even get a wrong move upon buying on wrong position. Worse he can be called MLM scammer for introducing this especially to those people who's been skeptical about this program.
You know what's more sellable to the public? That is its price. When people are aware that BTC value can rise by a lot of folds, they will easily get attracted to it. Unlike any other altcoins which in my opinion has a better and has a lot of technology, BTC's only technology is it can be used as a currency for sending and receiving money (BTC).

This can be easily identified so there is no need to sell it on them. As long as we will tell everything that they want to know, like BTC is volatile and its value can sometimes go down then we shouldn't worry. It's already their problem if they will still lose because they got greedy or too emotional.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Scam Alert - Address Poisoining on: January 15, 2023, 08:49:30 PM
If only these scammers could apply their creativity to something productive. Thanks for the heads up bro.
What about scamming, isn't that productive? Because, productive means the person is moving and doing things which benefits them. Scammers benefits from scamming and this is where they earn money. Maybe what you mean is they better apply their talent on something which aren't illegal and they can't cause a harm to others. It is possible. I've seen a lot of hackers who change for the better but it's not going to an easy process. The feeling can be the same if you are addicted to something else.

Thanks to the OP for alerting us to this new scam technique. As long as we stay to be informative or vigilant, we can possibly avoid them easily.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: January 15, 2023, 08:18:22 PM
I know gamblers may bet on any event that would eventually declare a winner. But, I don't think most casinos are offering a betting line for miss universe, I'm not sure but I think it's because most gamblers may not be interested in watching this international pageantry event.
I tried searching for it, out of curiosity if there are an actual betting line for for crypto and non crypto casinos, though I found some, but when I visit their website it's not available.
I have not searched the site but I also don’t think gamblers will be interested if there is any because I believe most of the gamblers would prefer to bet more on manly things, most particularly on sports matters. However, I’m not saying this in general as some gamblers would still want to, but personally, I don’t want to bet with girls thing like this pageantry.
Why not? Any kinds of betting events have no exemptions to the real gamblers. As long as they know that money is involved, they will always try to place their bets there. But, there will be guys who think it's gay. And they aren't really interested on miss universe but for a girl gambler then yes it's possible that they will level up their entertainment by placing a bet.

As a guy, I am not into girly things like this but this miss universe here are kinda unique to me as there is a candidate which has this Bitcoin costume. I think you guys already heard of that. Obviously it came from the country of El Salvadro. Maybe it's not bad to show our support for them.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The market will come back bigger again on: January 15, 2023, 09:11:31 AM
When cryptocurrencies are on the rise, many people who left the crypto market before will return again. Perhaps new partners will join the crypto market. There are also many people who are sticking to their hearts and have been observing the market in the market. We are now slowly waiting for the market to recover and prepare for more people joining the market next year.
To be honest I was also on the brick of losing hope at cryptocurrencies. I thought this bear market and crypto winter will last forever. But, I didn't gave up and stayed in crypto because from deep down in my heart I knew that this is another bear run like all others in the past.

Now seeing everything is green in market. Bitcoin and altcoin prices are rising makes me feel proud of my decision of not to quit. This year 2023 will be complete different from what we had in 2022. Even bulls cannot take coins to beyond the ATH, I believe at least we can stay away from bear trends for the whole year for sure.
605  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter could launch in-app ‘coins’ to help creators make money on: January 14, 2023, 09:25:21 PM
Looks like Twitter has copied the idea from Reddit and who knows how many other places, it's definitely not a new or inspirational idea. Elon is scrambling around trying to collect pennies while he overspent much more on the acquisition because of his own fragile ego and wanting to be the center of attention. I'm glad to see that his wealth has imploded after all his disastrous mistakes and just goes to show that he is definitely more lucky (being able to take advantage of companies with many other creative people who actually deliver the projects) than smart. I have a feeling that these sort of charms and rewards will do little to plug the huge holes, along with the massive reputation damage he has done to it as a relatively responsible platform so far.
It's true that the idea of an in-app currency for content creators is not a new concept, as it has been implemented by other platforms such as Reddit. It's also possible that Twitter's proposed internal currency feature, is a copycat of those other platforms. It's not clear yet, how the proposed internal currency feature will be implemented and how much revenue it will generate for content creators. It could also have implications on the freelance writing market, as authors may not be able to monetize longer text-based posts.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction touched forum users in a very sad way... on: January 14, 2023, 09:04:32 PM
Anyway, stories like the one present on this thread show us how gambling addiction can become a serious problem involving a lot of people besides the addicted gambler himself. Sometimes the person is blind by his addiction that he will do anything and everything to continue wagering. In this case the person stole funds, and in some more extreme situations the person can even kill!

That he may start treating himself properly against this addiction and refunding all those people he scammed futurely.
I just understood what it means to win in gambling, namely to control yourself, when people can control themselves in gambling, that's where they already feel the victory, it doesn't mean that they have to get more money at the gambling table, people have to change their mindset like this , if addicts continue to be unable to control themselves then they will continue to do anything to continue playing at the gambling table no matter what crimes they make
Yeah, gambling addiction is a serious issue that can have severe consequences, not just for the individual but also for those around them. As you've mentioned, the incident in this thread is a prime example of how addiction can lead to criminal behaviour. It's also important to recognize that gambling addiction is a treatable condition, and there are many resources available for those who are struggling with it. If the person in this case is truly struggling with an addiction, he should seek help and start working on recovery. It's also important for him to take responsibility for his actions and make amends to those he's harmed, including refunding the stolen funds.

Winning in gambling doesn't mean always winning money, it's about being able to control oneself and not letting addiction take over. Gambling can be a fun and enjoyable activity, but it's crucial to be aware of the potential risks and to practice responsible gambling.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How wrongful can this go? on: January 14, 2023, 08:18:23 PM
If those casinos that have license and the casino won't do KYC then they will face problems or consequences for not making their customers do KYC and they will also held responsible for money laundering. That's why it is norm to require KYC on casinos nowadays. It is indeed in their regulations to ask KYC and the casinos are aldo the same as the user having to to put KYC in their regulations though the difference is that they won't have a problem with it compared to users who must have complete the KYC when they want ti be anonymous and also can't withdraw huge amount unless KYC is completed.
It's understandable that some people might not want to provide personal information online, but it's important to be aware of the risks of giving false information when signing up for an online casino. Not only can it put you at risk of legal repercussions, but it can also result in your funds being withheld or your account being flagged as a fraud. One solution to this problem is to use a VPN when accessing online casinos that require KYC.

This can help to mask your IP address and keep your personal information private. But it's important to keep in mind that some online casinos can detect the use of VPNs, and you may not be able to access the site. Another solution is to use decentralized platforms that don't require KYC or personal information as they are often built on blockchain technology which gives more anonymity to the user.
608  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night? on: January 14, 2023, 04:16:23 PM
Whether El Salvador wins the competition or not, the country keeps working on all possible ways to give awareness to the world. The Miss Universe competition is the real resemblance of El Salvador, because they've taken the step forward and working on it without expecting the results. The price rise over the two days will make people praise the decision of El Salvador buying bitcoin at the lowest price of recent months.
Even if they will lose, this country will still remain as a winner in our hearts because they fearlessly showcase Bitcoin on a kind of prestige event like miss universe. They could represent other things. A thing that truly makes them remarkable as a country. There must be one other than Bitcoin or before they made Bitcoin a legal tender but we are glad that they take a risk and choose BTC this time. Winning may not be their priority anymore and they won't care if what other countries or people think about them after this.

Haven't seen or heard any positive news other than this one so this might be the reason of the immediate increase on the BTC's value. It looks like we will be having an early bull run here. This is great and thanks to El Salvador for making this possible.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction touched forum users in a very sad way... on: January 14, 2023, 06:26:43 AM
For the ones who do not follow Collectibles forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434506.0):
Cold Key owner retrieved private keys of all the sold 'cold wallets' he produced and as he was in need because of gambling he stole all the funds.

Which (apart of obvious sad event for card buyers/owners) is a very problematic for the whole "collectibles" market, any coin/card producer now will be asked twice "how may I trust you?".
Yogg scammed it and stole people's money.  It wasn't all of the cards just a certain series I think but who knows.  There are more still loaded but yeah they can all be able to be considered breached.  Gambling doesn't do this to people, people do this to people.  He stole, whatever the reason he stole from people period.  Nothing to do with gambling, if not gambling it would have been for something else.
Maybe he just prioritize those cards who have a bigger balance on them and then after it, those cards with a smaller balances on them are going to be the next on the list. Holder of those cards should act quickly and empty those balances before the scammer made its move.

You are right that gambling doesn't have the ability to scam people but gambling are only built to give entertainment to the people however there are cases where a person can get addicted with gambling where they will lose all what they got and then they can be able to commit crimes only to deposit more money in the game. I remember SBF is also said to be a gambler and this can also be the reason on why his company fall down.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 13, 2023, 08:35:31 PM
Now Pakistan are the favorites to win this ODI series. Despite losing Shan Masood early, they got to a very respectable total of 280/9. New Zealand bowlers were expensive today and Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson leaked more than 6 runs per over. But to their credit, they bowled well in the end. At one point Pakistan was 225/4 after 42.3 overs. In the next 7.3 overs they could score only 55 runs and lost 5 wickets. Apart from Agha Salman, no other batsmen contributed for Pakistan towards the end. Unless there is a miracle, Pakistan is going to win this match.
You are experienced poster here in cricket section and still favouring Pakistan for the win it's unusual for them because I never tag them as winner in any match even they are playing against the weakest team they are unpredictable and have history of doing poor things in their matches without any solid reason so today again they have done with few poor selections and then poor bowling which give them another defeat in match and series as well.

Now, with this defeat surely we will have few changes in Pakistan and Babar Azam can lose his captaincy for the one or two formats which could be good for him because he needs to concentrate on his batting like Smith, Root and Kohli despite having this headache of captaincy which is also too early for him.

Do you remember how much your recent gameplay bonus? for platinum 2-3? just wanted to check if it was updated or not
I guess there is a fixed amount for the recent gameplay bonus, I received $41 for the recent gameplay bonus when I upgraded to Platinum II last year. I did not expect anything for the recent gameplay bonus since I did not wager much before reaching my Platinum II (maybe around $75k only in a month to level up). Just take it as an additional bonus and I think it is more than enough since we may not get the same in other casino. There is also reload bonus that we can claim which is actually more than the recent gameplay bonus but we need to claim it everyday.

I believe the recent gameplay bonus is a small amount based on your loss since your last VIP level. So in your case, you must have incurred some losses since reaching platinum-1 and they just pay a tiny percentage of that amount.

I like the new weekly system where we get more if we had loss in the past week unlike earlier which was solely based on wager. I mean bonuses based on wager are good but for someone like me who is a sports bettor it doesn't always bring the highest wager and surely the biggest losses. The requirement for VIP manager is quite high these days so lucky those who have one from earlier Smiley.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 12, 2023, 07:08:20 PM
Any casino that those not pay their customers any amount they win is definitely a scam casino, no matter how huge the amount is. I believe they decided not to pay the woman because they believe it's a huge amount and they can't afford to lose that amount of money, but if it's the woman that lose that kind of amount, they won't refund the money to her and they won't give her other offers, the money is gone. Why is the casino not ready to lose, they just want to be winning always which is very bad. The funniest part is that they didn't even give her better offer just a steak dinner, that's very annoying.
Before calling them a scam, it would be better to know the real story first. In the link that the OP shared, it was actually the woman's fault on why it end up like that. She already been told that the machine is malfunctioning and yet she still continued to play. Other than that, I think there is also a warning/sign around the machine, saying that it is malfunctioning.

I am not sure if the girl didn't notice that or she just insist to play for fun. What happened about her winning millions, isn't unexpected but she thinks she is lucky and she is going to claim it but offered by a dinner instead. The owner is still kind and she must be thankful about it.
613  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the $17,000+ bitcoin price breakout benchmark to new price direction on: January 12, 2023, 06:42:01 PM
The Bitcoin market positive trend was an amazing move by the market but it's too early to have the impression that the market bullish is back and I think we have to wait to confirm the trend the market will showcase next week to be sure since the market always makes some bullish trends just to compliment the bearish market. Although the bullish market will start this year but not in the first or second quarter.
What I am saying is that this could be a bull trap.
Not a bull trap but can be consider as a small pump and a preparation for the real bull trend.
Its also good to see altcoins following the pump of Bitcoin, this is a good sign but yeah too early to celebrate. If there’s another pump that can actually reach the price of $20k, then we might start this year on a better trend. Its good if you are able to bought at a cheaper price, bull is about to come.
I don't think there will be a bull run this year so I agree with him that this can be a bull trap therefore we must be careful about it but I think pro-crypto peeps aren't entering a moving train. They know how risky it was and usually the only ones that does that are the newbies.

There are some who aren't really a newbie but they are just too weak. They come here once the positive trends come back and then they'll leave once it diminish. The price is already at a newer direction by the time it heads to $17k but we don't know what can come next. $17k might be our latest support from now on and it might stay there for a good amount of time.
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 10, 2023, 09:16:55 PM
Joao Felix is a good player who is certainly not worth the 130 million that Atletico gave him, but for 11 million it is a great reinforcement. He played well in the World Cup, scored 5 goals, all in all he is a versatile player and for this money I think it is a good reinforcement. Better that than buying the extremely unstable Lukaku for 110m.
After Abramovich's departure Chelsea will probably not be able to spend as much as they used to.
Abramovich's departure surely having big impact on Chelsea as right now they are struggling at the 10th position in league table which is surely not good place for them with having top quality players from around the world now this summer window is surely having good things for them with few players are going to lose this club because they are fail to having any positive impact during their stay here and now Graham Potter is working on for having his adjustment which works for him and give better results.

Joao Felix is surely good buying but as we all know it's not guaranteed for Chelsea problems because they already have few good players, but they fail to give them better result but if he fails to bring positive results then surely we are going to have another dilemma for the coach because now things are surely not easy for having more poor results.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 10, 2023, 05:21:52 PM
Well, maybe you're all hung up on the big teams and also their good history in the Champions League, but I think it looks like this season might be very different. If you follow the results of the group stage, then I think there will be one team that can also be considered at this moment to be able to go further.
Those teams are Benfica who did very well in the group stage and even, PSG which you would suggest to be a candidate to reach the final. But in reality, PSG couldn't beat Benfica at all in the group stage so yes, I'm sure Benfica at this moment can be a team that is difficult for seeded teams to beat.
Here most of the talk is about who is winner and every one is going with his own considerations because most of the fans love to have winner their favourite club, but one thing is surely Champions League is having history of unpredictable results and winners which are not in favourite list with this all right now talking about who could be winner in this season it's not easy too many teams are giving their best and have chance to be as winner with Benfica is surely had good chance as they play against PSG in their last matches these were shocking with Napoli is also one of the team which can do any surprising entry into last rounds because they have amazing season in Serie A and Champions League performance was also good still nothing clear with PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all are usual favourite for this event, but things could be clear after first knock out round.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 10, 2023, 02:11:30 PM
Asia Cup 2023 is likely to start in Pakistan as per the schedule. As per ICC announcement, 2023 Asia Cup will be hosted in Pakistan. The upcoming Asia Cup 2023 will likely end with 12 ODIs and 1 final match in September. There are various rumors about this Asia Cup but they . are meaning less. The decision taken by the ICC is final. If there is any change, it must be determined by the ICC. If Pakistan is able to fulfill the conditions of ICC then Asia Cup 2023 will be held in Pakistan.

It is the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) that decides the schedule of the Asia Cup and not the ICC. And Jay Shah is the current head of the ACC. This time the difference is that the Asia Cup will be held in 50-over format (compared to the 2022 edition, when it was held in 20-over format). There is still no clarity on where the matches will be hosted. There will be a total of 13 matches and two groups with 3 teams each will be there for the next edition. Top-2 teams from each group will qualify for the super-4 stage (similar to what we had during the 2022 edition).
Even right now things are not clear about any update what will happen, and we are going to have Asia Cup in this year or no because we have usual headache from both sides with Jay Shah is surely not going to have any soft corner for the Pakistan, and they will also try their best to avoid any change of venue for me here we need to have brought few changes with this could be settled for the t20 format with having eight to ten teams which will give good chance to few new countries join here and try to achieve better quality and performance and U-19 competition could be also useful with nearly 10 to 12 teams from Asian countries surely give good improvement and chance to few other countries which want to have better future in this game.
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 10, 2023, 01:30:24 PM
I never had a good impression about the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), but the way in which they are organizing the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is quite impressive. This is not one of the top franchise T20 leagues in the world, and yet they have managed to attract a lot of star players from overseas. Yesterday's match between Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers was a perfect example. Both Usman Khan and Azam Khan managed to hit centuries. Usman hasn't yet made his debut for Pakistan and the performance will obviously help him in doing so.

BTW, the SA20 league will start today in South Africa. The first match is between MI Cape Town (owned by Mumbai Indians) and Paarl Royals (owned by Rajasthan Royals). Only the brand name is there, and hardly any MI players are there in the Cape Town squad (there are a few such as Jofra Archer, Duan Jansen and Dewald Brevis). I am not sure whether the MI fans in India will support this franchise (same for RR fans regarding Paarl).
Agree, because BCB is completely failed to attract investors as they have not good marketing tactics about this all even right now Bangladesh is also having good in growth, and they are doing good development in all fields with this all they also need to attract investors for sports activities with Government of Bangladesh is also needed to have some better things which will help them for having good facilities and improvement in quality as well because now this is also the biggest industry around the world and Bangladesh is surely having nearly 200 Million population which can help them for having better viewership and other things.

In BPL, we can say third graded players are coming with now SA20 is also starting which clearly attracted better players and this is just because of all money which is invested in this league in early years BPL was doing better things, but recently they are fail to attract big players and better things in this event.

As for become PSG coach, I haven't read any news that mentioned about Zidane will go to PSG. but I have often read about PSG's interest.  Zidane has been linked with French national team, but there is nothing happens so far. In other news, it's not PSG, but online media writing if  Juventus is the options will choose if he returns to coaching. We'll see, if Zidane become coach of the French national team or Juventus happens, it means media is not bringing up old issues again. Because news about Zidane is interesting to read, so there is a possibility this issue just for traffic reason.  Grin
PSG was option for Zidane before start of this season, but he never takes this spot as we all know he was interested in France national team but now things looking completely different because current France national coach already have 4 years extension, and he also rejected few other offers like the USA and Brazil national team coach so where he wants to go in near future nothing is clear with Juventus is also doing good job under coach Algieri which mean they will be not done any change due to their already issues which are having impact on their future but as we know in soccer anything can happen on any day hopefully Zidane will also have for his future which is going to happen in near future because he deserves some good things as he achieves many big ones in his career for national team and club Real Madrid.
619  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: January 09, 2023, 07:08:02 PM
Money is truly a motivating factor and even without been told, we should know that money answereth all things.
I strongly agree with you on the things you've said about money because I've seen situations where money allowed money get into their heads and making them misuse the money and this situation is mostly associated with free money(money gotten without effort).
One thing is to have money and the other thing is to let the money get into your head and one of the reasons why people allow money get into their head is the is to meet up unnecessary competition.

Money is good but when not used wisely, it becomes a wrong tool.
There were lots of factors or things which can motivate a person. A family or a loved one can motivate us. A physical thing i.e gadgets can motivate us too although money is still related with it because we need money to be able to purchase them. On the first one that I said, I think money can also be involved. We need money to travel if we are working from a far and we want to see our parents in our hometown. Money can also be used for our family to have a vacation, to buy them dress, phone and other items.

I think I know the unnecessary competition that you mentioned there but this wasn't totally bad IMO. In fact we can use it as well to motivate ourselves more.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina's Leading Presidential Candidate Preaches Bitcoin on: January 09, 2023, 06:48:32 PM
If what he said about bitcoin adoption will be true when he gets into power,I see it as a positive impact on bitcoin but this doesn't mean that the price  will be as high as you predicted. It will not also lead to massive adoption by other countries, you should also remember that not everyone will use bitcoin if after adoption.

Politician can not influence the price of bitcoin since it is not controlled by the government. Sometimes politicians use this as a strategy for the youths to vote them into power but after they have won the election, they will go against bitcoin adoption.
Your point is succinct and clear, yes no government can control Bitcoin, but getting older and more countries or politicians openly supporting Bitcoin is always a positive thing. 2023 is destined to be an extraordinary year. Whether it is a turning point or not, time will naturally give us the answer. What we need to do is to let more people around us accept Bitcoin and use it. Bitcoin will eventually coexist with the fiat currencies of various countries.
It's nice that even though some of these politicians know that it's impossible to control a Bitcoin, they still allow it on their country. They know that this can greatly help their people aside from the help that they are giving. And when the people is earning well, this will also have a positive effect in the country.

Where did you get the idea that 2023 is an extraordinary year when in fact many users doesn't feel that bullish but it can be a turning point in which a slow recovery is expected to happen up until we reached the next page/s of our calendars again. As of now, BTC have already co-exist with the traditional currencies. It can remain like this for a long time.
