601  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] Telebit - built-in bitcoin wallet for telegram users on: February 19, 2015, 02:31:35 PM
Posting on behalf of @Buryfarmer.

Telebit launches a built in bitcoin wallet for telegram users

Key benefits of telegram are:

No sign up procedure

Free bitcoin

50 million users now have a bitcoin wallet

Instant free transfers

Now live on iOS, android, windows phone, desktop, web etc

700+ users already

Telebit 1.0 is a new service that makes it simple to hold and transfer small amounts of bitcoins between phones without the hassle of having to sign up or think about bitcoin addresses. It enables you to send bitcoin to any of your telegram contacts without needing anything from them. They will get a message from telebit saying you’ve sent to them and they can’t refuse it. They then have a balance that they can send to any bitcoin address in the world without any kind of extra validation or sign up. Telebit is one of a number of recent attempts to merge the popularity of telegram with a bitcoin wallet. Getgems and Sendchat have both taken a different approach of forking the telegram client and making their own app meaning their user base is limited to how many people download their app. Telebit leverages the telegram messenger app itself which is well known, tested and available on pretty much every device. Telebit was created and is run by Eric Goforth who previously worked on cexstar.io and Jonathan Harrison who recently left satoshipoint.co.uk

The system has been live for 2 weeks now and we are now satisfied with its feature set and stability.

Telegram messenger is basically a clone of whatsapp but with better security and open source code, they currently have around 50million users.
You can download it here: telegram.org/dl

The beauty of Telebit is that it already works with over 50 million users and on nearly every device. There is literally no sign up procedure and you’ll get some free satoshis to get started with.  You can ask it what your balance is now and it will reply to you.

You contact Telebit just by searching for it within the telegram app and sending a message to it.

The Telebit wallet is controlled by messaging simple commands to Telebit.

To find out your balance simply message Telebit “BALANCE”

To find out your bitcoin address simply message Telebit “WALLET”

For a full list of available commands simply message “HELP” to Telebit

How to transfer bitcoin to a contact

To send to one of your contacts click on their name mid conversation, then the menu, then share their details with Telebit.   Telebit will then reply to you asking how much bitcoin you wish to send to them.

You and the contact you send to will receive free bitcoin as bonus for introducing them to telebit.

Security

Telebit is for sending small amounts of bitcoin and your balance is ultimately held in a central wallet managed by Telebit. This means that bitcoin transfers to other telebit accounts is off blockchain and therefore instant and free of miners fees. Of course you can send to any bitcoin address in the world with a command but this will incur miners fees.

Telebit allows you to set up a redirect for your balance when it rises above an amount you are comfortable holding with telebit.  For example if your balance exceeds 0.5 btc the excess will overflow to another bitcoin address you control.

Other features that we may implement in the future include basic gambling commands, sponsored messages, free bitcoin faucet in return for viewing ads and the ability to transfer fiat balances aswell as bitcoin.

Hello! This is Robert with FoldingCoin Inc.

If you haven’t heard it , myself and our lead dev James had a 3.5 hour interview on the Dogedcoindark radio show. You can find the embedded audio on our webpage http://foldingcoin.net/the-coin/

Rick the host over there is really interested in Counterparty and loves what we are all doing. He runs a 24/7 radio found here http://dogecoindark.net/radio/

He asked me to come back on the show to discus more about Counterparty in general. I suggested that we find some other Counterparty devs from various projects to come join in on the discussion and he enjoyed that idea. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in going on the show with me to discus how counterparty can help shape the future of digital assets and currency. It could be a long one, so prepare for a long show (the live casts are also at night beginning around 10pm EST). Rick gets some pretty good guests on there and i recommend you see who has gone on his show in the past https://www.mixcloud.com/dogedradio/

No time is set in stone yet, we are just trying to get a headcount of who is interested. You can email me rross@foldingcoin.net Thanks

You could ping mtbitcoin at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=31979
He's the dev for blockscan.com

Been using the OMNI Dex and wallet for awhile.
Is there any way for it to have a UI similar to BTC-e or Bitstamp or a standard Forex trading platform?

Seasoned users like me have no issues but it's hard to get beginners to use it.
Maybe it should look more like standard forex trading platform interfaces.

so someone told me that Alphatech is gonna fold up soon. is it true? if yes, I want to make a Paypal chargeback.

They can't be closing soon after the latest "Greeting Miners!" post...Clearly they are delivering a non-rushed product very soon in 2019.

my crystal ball confirmed it's in 2029.

Alpha Technology should be in the thumbs down section. I've ordered in Jan 2014, and nothing delivered yet.

pyramining, can you respond to my PM on 15 Jan 2015.

got it.
please update us once your new chips are online.

Hot damn, new hardware??? Sweet

that is what he told me.

Awesome!! Did he give an ETA? I know he is looking to move as well.

no firm ETA, you can also ask him.

Yes, I could, but if he gave you one, why would I ask him the same question you already did, seems a bit redundant.

he did not give any ETA.

618  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ponzi Mycoin in China goes bust!~ 500 mil.$ lost. Prepare for a crash! on: February 11, 2015, 11:37:12 AM
Price hasn't changed so I doubt that the 500 million was relaly lost. Huge amount for bitcoin.

I don't think they had a single btc in their coffers.
619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitHashMiner 10TH/s Bitcoin Miner on: February 10, 2015, 03:42:32 PM

620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: February 10, 2015, 02:32:39 PM
so someone told me that Alphatech is gonna fold up soon. is it true? if yes, I want to make a Paypal chargeback.

I think that's an assumption, although there's no delivery in sight and these are already so late they are useless.  If you can get your money back I would do so.  If you still want script miners you can get them elsewhere and likely at a better price.

any good reliable scrypt miners in the market now?
have not been following up on the mining scene for some months now.
