hi all ...

it seemed there were a few issues with autopayments and difficulty issues with mining yesterday ...

with regards to payouts ... this was a matter of the crons ( the auto part of the pool ) not functioning as it should due to the differences in rpc calls of the coin ... scripts adjusted and rerun - tested - and autopayouts running well now ...

with regards to mining ... the heavy miners of the community were getting knocked off the stratum due to the low starting diff ... being in beta - we did not expect that it would be so heavily hit - but there is demand in the mining of goldblocks - and as such - set to work yesterday to rectify the issue ...

a new stratum was setup - with a starting diff of 2.5 that maxes out to 70 - as a test for the high hash miners - using nicehash or miningrigrentals or others ...

testing of the stratum initially had a few bumps - but these were ironed out readily enough ...

the new hidiff stratum is available for use - tanx to the testing that shkbits afforded us the opportunity with - throwing more than 1.6-3.4gh at the pool and stratum ... testing passed with flying colours ...

so now the hidiff stratum is open to community ... details below ...

Code:
lodiff stratum setup - stratum+tcp://goldblocks.granitecoin.com:8000/

hidiff stratum setup - stratum+tcp://goldblocks.granitecoin.com:8500/

remember that the hidiff stratum is for those miners that require a starting diff of 2.5 ( which is very high for x11 under most circumstances ) ...

ive seen a few comments about the pool being very responsive - and those comments are very much appreciated ...

the goldblocks pool is based on a very large infrastructure that caters to some of the largest corporate systems in the world ... yes - it costs a lot to have it there - but it is well worth the speed and responsiveness that the pool and stratums provide ... so all your donations to the pool are very much appreciated - though there is absolutely NO pressure for a donation if you do not wish it ...

the pool fee will stay at 0.7% of the mining - it will NOT be raised ...

infact - all our successive pools ( currently granite and ozziecoin ) will be based on the same low fee structure ...

as always - if there are any issues - please inform us ...

tanx ...

602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EGC] EverGreenCoin !!!!!!!!!! -+=* MANDATORY UPGRADE V1.3 *=+- !!!!!!!!!! on: June 20, 2016, 03:09:26 AM
... and the above posts regarding forks and payments - are the MAIN reason that proves PERCEPTION is everything ...

regardless of whether facts prove otherwise or not ...

if ANYONE here thinks that getting into the crypto world means you are safe from ANYTHING happening - you are dead wrong ...

it is YOUR responsibility - and with that responsibility comes the risk of of ANYTHING happening - like forks and issues with the network and other such things ...

if losses occur - then so be it ... if gains occur - then so be it ... whatever happens is the responsibility of the person involved in making the deals in the first place ... which means the PUNTER ... yes - YOU - the investor ...

there ARE responsibilities on the devs and the team that make things happen within the network - but their responsibilities are limited to what they CAN do - not YOUR decisions or money or investments ...

for those that have a grievance - the WORST thing you can do is start slander against the dev team ... that really is the WORST thing you can do ...

the BEST thing you can do is to make DECENT conversation in ways that are open to you - AND try and find a resolve ... thats it ...

steven has been MORE than giving in so much - and yet - this slander continues ... so much for a democratic way of resolving issues! ...

if i were in control of the foundations funds - i would be so much more harsh than steven has been towards the so called 'losses' that occur ...

its very simple - if YOU make the decision to 'get in' on ANY project ... then YOU need to accept the responsibility of ANYTHING ( not just losses ) that occur ...

i live and work by the one creed that keeps my team and i alive and well in such times ...

NEVER invest any more than you are willing to LOSE ... NEVER ...

if you cant abide by that one creed ( though more a rule ) - then get out of crypto altogether ...

especially if you have invested in such things like ethereum - where people are losing more than just a few hundred dollars of investments ... like REAL investors - the majority take it on the chin - and accept that the devs are doing what they can to resolve issues - and WORK WITH the devs and team to find a resolve ...

slander will always be around unfortunately - and wont still wont resolve issues ... but that will be like water off a ducks back - especially to an old crypto duck like me ...

steven has my back - and i his ...

now resolve these issues in a civil manner - or dont ... it will be up to you entirely ...

Ummm very little movement and/or fluctuations with EGC coin among the traders on Bittrex. They look untrusted with the coin. It's sad but we need give a new impulse to the coin in some way. Any ideas?
I already shared my idea about it. First we would need a payment gateway and then an online renewable energy shop. But hey that's only my 2 EGC ey Wink
That sounds very interesting, could we contact with gocoin or similar payment gateways? It will be great!

Yes, very interesting indeed, the beauty of which is it grows other ideas. We had previously been in contact with coinpayments.net and had a campaign to convince them to consider adding EverGreenCoin. That effort was unfruitful. I mentioned the reasons I suspect it was so in this post. We can and will in the near future try again. As I previously mentioned, it might be wise to let the markets recover before we do so so that marketcap gives them more reason to consider. Of course we can add gocoin to the list.

I personally like the idea of dropshipping and think it is a promising idea. When I mentioned the idea to a colleague, they were of the opinion it was not wise and only offered, "it has failed for others." as an explanation and had to end the conversation. Of course that is not a strong enough argument to not pursue the idea. I will see if they are willing to elaborate on their discontent with the idea and, if so, present that point of view to the community on their behalf if they are unwilling to. But again, I like the idea but of course I am open to arguments that might prove it a path not to continue on. I have not yet heard such arguments.

Regardless of the dropshipping debate, the next step remains a payment processing gateway. I do know crypto-friendly merchants that would be happy to accept EGC once we reach this milestone. Some of them wanting to feature EGC and perhaps offer discounts for its use. Which brings up another point and idea I would like to bounce of the community members that like this idea so far: Why use EGC for a purchase as oppose to just using BTC? Know, we know the reasons that it helps EGC, creating demand. But, why would a consumer that already sees the benefit of using crypto and does want to use crypto for the purchase add the seemingly unnecessary step of converting the BTC into EGC for the purchase? This is the sticking point that I think all 'alt' coins face. So, we need an incentive. Now, when many of the environmentally supportive ideas (solar miners, solar mining farm, ecosia.org or similar, ect.) are implemented and using EGC has tangible evidence as being a currency that its use alone helps the environment, I do feel many people would then see that once unnecessary conversion step (BTC or other to EGC) as a worthwhile step. Until then, we need more I think, an incentive. Perhaps the EGC Foundation can step in to make an incentive by ways of covering a small discount or a rebate. Often times a discount of only 2% offsets shipping, it is implementing the discount that posses a problem. Now, some like-minded merchants will offer discounts and are small/agile enough, yet serve a global consumer base, to do so on a per transaction basis. The foundation matching or even covering the discount would be attractive to consumers and therefor merchants alike. To the best of my knowledge, implementing a discount at the payment processing gateway is not an option. Unless we were able to make some arrangement with said payment processing gateway, this might not be a feasible option thus making the discount incentive idea not realistic for many merchants and merchants that simply can not handle discounts on a per transaction basis for whatever reason. For this reason the rebate idea becomes more possible and promising. The foundation could rebate purchases made with EGC, therefore making an incentive for consumers. Of course, both the discount and rebate could not be a large because the funding is limited to do so but, wise consumers know it does not take much to offset shipping or sales tax (VAT).

Just an idea I have been thinking on and wanted to, like I said, share / discuss  with the community members that are being helpful with these and other ideas. Thanks to those of you that are!  Smiley

ill elaborate as best i can ...

faith in the company drop shipping ( unless a large established company of course ) is always a very low - and always something that leads to 'no stock' being kept on site ... which also leads to all forms of issues when stock-on-hand is non existent ...

my comment of 'it has failed for others' should have stood on its own merit steven ... especially coming from a man that has extensive retail industry experience in many areas - where i owned not only three retails stores here in australia - but also expanded into a warehouse and online shopping company with consultancy offices in three states - larger than the size of the most of the US ... drop shipping accrues more loss of faith in a company - due to their perceived inability to carry stock and thus their accountability ... its accountability that is the big issue here - and the perceived stability of the company due to lack of holdings of stock ...

yes - perceived ... we have been over this many times in private ...

i dont like coming out here and debating something that i have firm experience in ... you know that ... i would rather DO and SHOW ... like you with the amazing dev work you do ...

we need to discuss where this will lead to a cohesive system we can work from ... and inform the community and public as to what will need to happen in future with such things as shopping and ideas related ...

i agree with MANY things that have been discussed and brought forward - but dropshipping will not be one that i will back ... not unless a proven track record of the company we setup is prevalent - that will bring a solid backing from the community of BUYERS ... the only ones that actually have a say in this ... as these buyers dont exist - we can only speculate ... and as such - investing funds ( as well as time and effort - taking away from the development work that we have been discussing for many many weeks now ) into an idea that seems to be ( to me ) an unfounded sentiment of moving forward ...

an online shop - yes definitely ... to carry nothing in terms of stock of equipment - no way ... it will mean that we are no better than any other 'business' and their dog out in crypto world - that wants to start something like this ...

we are more than that - and the infrastructure will attest to that ... we will not be just an idea tying to surface ... especially when there is an infrastructure backing the idea ...

if you all feel im being too direct - then voice your opinions ... and if its still not a strong enough argument to NOT go for it ( yet ) - then we will have a lot more to discuss than just dropshipping ...

as for the payment gateway - i can only work with you on that - as skaia and i have been working on a system long before it was even mentioned here ... but your ideas seems to be relevant and logical and well placed ... more than just a dev - there are many more factors that are faced on this level - and the one thing doesnt seem to get very much mention - IS the infrastructure and beckend of ANY coin ...

whereas my whole focus has been that - which is why the development of the projects we have under our belts had to be put on hold until the infrastructure and backend was solid ...

i refuse to discuss any more ideas here with such things - and this is due to the reasons ive discussed with you personally steven ... too much is always at stake - and my reasons have been voice privately to you ...

im going back to continue working on the infrastructure and the entire backend of the ecosystem for 'theprojects' and 'theteam' ...

a few things that require attention here - and starting this week - i hope we can really start on them ...

tanx mate ...

hi all ...

has anyone installed this successfully on centos 7 x64? ...

im curious as to whether the current state of development ( which is old from what i can gather ) is still usable ... though it doesnt have to be specifically on redhat based systems ( like centos ) - as ubuntu would suffice also ...

ive tried to install under fedora 23 x64 - and it fails in so many ways - that i cant begin to state which error i should start on ...

id be interested in discussing a few things ( maybe even a redevelopment deal ) with the devs that created coiniumserv ...

if any one can point me in the right direction - or contact info - it would be very much appreciated ...

I'm now up and running on both Windows version 1.3.0 and MAC version 1.3.0 EGC (www.evergreencoin.org) wallets.

All good,

Portdavenport Wink

thats great to hear ( or read in this context ) ...

i can see the seednodes are going nuts with requests for updates to the blockchain ...

this is a great sign - showing that people are updating and resyncing ...

http://goldblocks.granitecoin.com/ works perfect, we have already found 9 blocks !
Really nice job crysx
thanks nid125

@darkgold - much appreciated ...

i woke to see check everything - and all is functional and running smooth from this end ( ie - the backend of the system ) ...

and yes - i was surprised that we have hit a few blocks already ... nice work guys ...

@nid125 - it does seem to be smooth and quite quick ... tanx for helping test ...

@shkbits - i was in bed when you messaged on irc as im in adelaide australia which is the 'downunder' time zone Tongue ... so if anyone does get online - wait there - or stay logged in for an answer / chat ( if you can of course ) ... if im personally not online - others who are may have an answer for you ...

ill look into the reason its a low diff on this - and change it accordingly ... ive set low difficulties or testing - but high hashrates will become an issue for the low diff stratum - so ill setup another specifically for the higher diff levels - or ill expand the current stratum diff to cover the higher diff levels ...

tanx for getting online and letting me know ...

this is what beta is all about - and i appreciate this testing phase ... the changes will occur very shortly - and ill publish the changes ...

first the increase in diff scope - then if that is still causing nicehash / miningrigrentals issues - ill setup another stratum specifically for nicehash / miningrigrentals diff levels ...

what would you think the starting diff should be for goldblocks highhash? ...

update - the stratum maximum difficulty setting has been raised to 250 ( which covers most of the diff ranges - from low hash to very high hash ) ... stratum just reset - so a small few seconds delay while it fired up again ...

if this does not cater for the miners with high hashrates ... ill setup a new port for the heavy hashers of the community ...

please let me know how all this goes ...

and one more tanx to all that are mining here - and the donations you are giving the pool ...

hi all ...

we have now a pool available to mine goldblocks ...

it has been in testing and seems quite stable with the small amount of hashrate that we have been testing with ...

if the community wants to spread the hashrate over the pools - and not centralize the network has - then everyone is welcome to mine as much or as little as they want on the pool ...

we will leave this on 'beta' status for 7 days - and if all works well without any major issue - it will be changed to 'production' mode ...

for those of you that know me - know that i am first and foremost a miner - and have been for the better part of a few years now as well as know of thefarm that we have pushed large hashrates through various pools ...

this is NOT our first pool - as we have our own official granite pool - but this IS the first mpos pool outside of our inhouse project - as we believe in helping where we can ... especially with devs we are familiar and have a good rapport with ...

the details of the pool is as follows - and if you will dev - please add to the op if you approve ...

Code:
pool type - mpos ...
pool address - goldblocks.granitecoin.com ...
pool port - 8000 ...
pool fee - 0.7% ...
miner donation - starting at 0.7% but entirely at miners discretion ...

your help with the testing ( and consequently the use of ) the pool is very much appreciated ...

any issues - please contact directly on irc #digitaldzyne ... and we will investigate and attend to as soon as humanly possible ...

happy mining ...

#crysx

Well, thank you crysx! Much appreciate.
Of course i will add it to the Op, i was thinking to propose you to give the pool the official status, if you agree ofcourse. That would be nice.
If yes, i will also iframe it in official website www.goldblocks.eu

Guys, please spread the hash please to http://goldblocks.granitecoin.com/ , thanks!

very much appreciated darkgold ...

there are a couple of little things id like to iron out within the pool itself ( and they are more functional - rather than coin / payment related - tidbits ) ... but yes - it would be a pleasure to be added to the website ...

just let me know what needs to be done from our end - and we will be good to go ...

though a good thorough testing of the pool - especially with much higher hash than what we have been testing with - would give us a better idea of how it performs under stress ...

but then - you know how much of a perfectionist i can be - and it may be that im being way too fussy ...

again - very much appreciated ... just let me know what we need to do here on this end ...

Version 1.3 now available! Mandatory Upgrade!

The protocol upgrade looks to be a success! Please upgrade at your earliest convenience and do not attempt at moving any EGC until you have done so and verified you are on the correct blockchain. Do not move any EGC to or from an exchange until you see an announcement that the exchange has upgraded and has been verified.

Many thanks to Mammix, Crysx, and most of all, the EverGreenCoin community!

and the awesome dev we have here ...

im liking this team lots ...

theteam - will chat more about it with you mate ...

lets hope that all this will mean now we can focus - IF - any issues arise ...

im also quoting this post - as it needs to be impressed on ALL the community members - what steven has mentioned ...

DO NOT move ANY coins - until steven has announced that it is safe to so ... whether it be from wallet to wallet - or exchange ...

just wait for stevens post - as he will be checking the exchanges and working with them directly - to make sure the network is on the main / right chain ...

Is there a way for me to block connections to old wallets?

Its annoying if they "sabotage" us.

linux / windows / osx - in the wallet ...

Code:
getpeerinfo

from the daemon ...

linux - executable ...

Code:
./evergreencoind getpeerinfo

or service / executable ...

Code:
evergreencoind getpeerinfo

windows daemon ...

Code:
evergreencoind.exe getpeerinfo

this will show you all the peers you have - and the versions of the connected peers ... but you cannot 'block' them per se ...

easier to wait till steven weaves his magic with the new wallet ...

all the seeds we have seem to have TOO MANY old wallets running ... this needs to stop ...

when the new version is released - say 1.2.2.0 for example - any wallet below that will be locked out ...

we just need patience for steven to get it done - and we can test the new wallets ( which should have the PoW / PoS changes also ) when they are ...

patience and diligence - on all our parts ... this is only ONE of the coins we look after - and intend on keeping it solid when we can iron the issues out ... i think steven is doing a HUGE job here - and we are working towards a very stable network in the future ...

Evergreencoin Hi,

New wallet ? but 1.2.1 wallet working just fine Smiley

its not working fine - when the community refuses to upgrade ...

it astounds me that a great deal of community members STILL havent upgraded to the latest wallet - which is what you mentioned - 1.2.1.0 ...

hence the reason for the work for this next release ... a hardfork for the time changes in PoS - and possibly PoW ... as well as a lockout of ALL wallets prior to the next release ... which means ALL community members and exchanges that have a daemon running NEED to upgrade - otherwise they will be on the wrong fork ...

we believe that part ( not the only ) of the issue with the regular forking - is the lack up upgrading - and the vulnerability this entails to the network when people DONT upgrade ...

so - with a hardfork and updated wallet - this is forced ... THEN we can work on the real issues that may be causing these forks to the network ... if this new wallet does what its supposed to do - it MAY fix the issue for good ... as we have yet to find the core issue - and with so many versions of wallets out there - its almost impossible to do unless EVERYONE is on the right wallet and right chain ...

tireless hours are being spent in the background on this - not just for those of you with wallet issues - but for us too ... so that we can move forward on the development of the projects we have ...

like i mentioned earlier - i am not so gentle or eloquent as steven when posting - but i hope the points im making are coming across ...

but as a community as whole - tanx for enduring the headaches with us though - as we continue to work on out the bugs and issues ...

I support linux. Just use Wine. You need  driver that came later than the cuda 7.5 toolkit.

A driver from september 2015 or later

limited support for the open sourced miner - agreed sp ...

but the private - none ... you cannot say you support linux by providing ONLY windows binaries and asking the donors to run it in wine ...

thats NOT supporting linux - at all ...

and you STILL havent addresses the lack of delivery of the miners you promised me - windows or not ...

I am sure we all could use some good news this afternoon... EverGreenCoin will be added to Staisybit in the near future.

If you don't know, Staisybit is a cloud staking service website. Very similar to the now defunct coinwallet.io that had EverGreenCoin as one of its many coins, you can access the site, and therefor your wallet, with any web-enabled device. Mobile users will be able to send and receive EverGreenCoin much like they would with a mobile wallet built specifically for their device (android, iOS, ect.) and still earn interest from Proof of Stake on holdings. This service website can also be used by desktop/laptop users that wish to stake constantly but not leave their computer running constantly.

Please see Staisybit for more details of their services which soon will be available for the EverGreenCoin community.

well ...

staisybit have been around for a little bit - and in that time - have had their fair share of issues with ( and not limited to ) wallets - staking - access - functionality - and a few other things ...

ive watched this project from the beginning ... watched the pitfalls and the progress ...

one thing i can say about staisybit is this - they dont give up ...

a unique system - that will ALWAYS have teething issues - until they are stabilized ...

when dealing with staisybit - ALWAYS keep a copy of everything you do ... i have never seen the devs be anything less than helpful - even if the entire system would go down ...

we can rest assured that steven has done his research - he always does ...

we are working behind the scenes in big ways to make sure that the egc network ( and other coins we have ) run smooth - with the minimum down time we can get ...

much good news to be had yet ...

I finally gave in to the constant Win 10 upgrade nagging today and boy is this slow hashing annoying. I refuse to downgrade my GPU driver, so I'll most likely end up developing on Linux until a fix is there. And then I still need a 1070.

Thanks Genoil, I prefer Linux myself, so Linux dev work is much appreciated!  I haven't posted before, but I've read for months as I've moved through several different rigs.

simply put ...

a great many serious miners will only work with linux ( with the exception of a few large miners ) ...

the rest use windows due to the 'hobby' state the mining industry is in ...

im perplexed by the distributions of binaries - and the lack of support for linux ...

btw sp - i have NOT received ANYTHING from you TO DATE regarding ANY miner since you distribute to the 'donors' those many months ago ...

quite pathetic really - when this is the way you treat the one donor that has donated more than most ...

is it any wonder ive stopped coming here - let alone donating ANYTHING to you ...

trust plays a MASSIVE part in this industry mate - and you have lost a great deal of it from me ... unless you rectify the lack of due care to your donors - then you will have nothing but some optimized code that you privatize and grow your farm with - and a reputation that is scarred for the life of crypto ...
