Its physically impossible to go to the past. If it was possible we would have been visited already by future civilization that could go back.

Something being physically possible doesn't imply that it has already happened.

Even without a mixing service, there is no way to prevent somebody from sending you tainted coins.

Yes, this is also an important point.

Just picture the following scenario:

—Hey, I want to pay you
—No way, your coins are related to the recent hack!
—I already sent them to your address. U MAD BRO?

It might be ridiculous, but it's totally possible. What will you do then, now that you yourself are tainted too?

This is a great scenario because if you had my little app you could let bitstamp know you confiscated some of their coins and will be returning them immediately!! great example

WHAT?

If you say you don't care, then I think you are not being a responsible member of society. You should care and you it is easy to check, so why not do it.

No, it's not. After the thief uses a coin mixing service, there's no way to tell where those coins come from.

I didn't say he used a mixing service.

But I say he does. We need to take into account all scenarios.

WoW, nice. I mean evil.
Just send a few coins to some reputable exchanges/services and done.
Pure evil.

Not entirely true, as that unspent output need never be touched.  I can move my other coins which I had in this address to another which is now clean, without touching the dirty dust that you sent me.

It's not necessarily dust. Also, I thought we were marking addresses and not individual outputs.

As I said in the other thread, Thanks and Like are not the same thing.

BTW, why don't the thieves just use a mixer, maybe a CoinJoin mixer?

If they know what they're doing, they will do just that. And then, how will I know if money they are sending me was related to the robbery or not?

I remember a Law & Order: SVU episode where Bitcoin is mentioned. Guess what it was related to.
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin movies? on: February 16, 2015, 06:46:35 PM
Lol at Bit coin to not officially say Bitcoin.

Officially? It's not like Bitcoin is a brand. I guess it was actually an error.
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Time Travel Kill Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2015, 06:36:41 PM
In other words, if you went back into the past 5 years from right now, there probably was nothing at all in this area of space yet.

According to what frame of reference? There's not absolute position in space.

Galactic mass along with inter-galactic mass provide the frame of reference.

Why this one? Why not the solar system frame of reference? What makes one more preferable than the other?
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Let Anyone Tell You Satoshi's Identity is NOT Important on: February 16, 2015, 06:28:15 PM
Satoshi is not a single person. Satoshi is the "identity" of a billion-dollar multiple-year plan to have authority over ALL the money on the world.

How can Bitcoin give its creator authority over its users? The protocol is designed in such a way that you can only control your bitcoins if you know your private key.

614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Time Travel Kill Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2015, 05:24:17 PM
Perhaps the issue here is that the concept of "time" is an artificial one making both travel forwards and/or backwards impossible.

Yes, that's why all this conversation about Bitcoin and time travel is hypothetical.

"In this theoretical framework, it has been suggested that spacetime should be treated as a fluid." -- http://phys.org/news/2014-04-liquid-spacetime-slippery-superfluid.html

"Superfluid vacuum theory (SVT), sometimes known as the BEC vacuum theory, is an approach in theoretical physics and quantum mechanics where the fundamental physical vacuum (non-removable background) is viewed as superfluid or as a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC)." -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfluid_vacuum_theory

I said “liquid”, but your examples talk about “superfluid”. They certainly work differently.

Also, time being a superfluid still doesn't prove we can travel back in time.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Time Travel Kill Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2015, 03:50:28 PM
But this thread is about traveling backwards in time, which is impossible.

Are you sure?

If I can unmix a liquid then why not time?

Time is not a liquid, to begin with.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody is mining at Microsoft's 138.91.94.19 on: February 16, 2015, 03:45:54 PM
Pretty cool!
But does Azure allows this if they get to know?

Why wouldn't they?

People are saying , if an employee is doing so , they will fire him then why would they allow it on azure?

Anyone can buy Azure cloud computing, so I don't get why people think it's a Microsoft employee (although even an employee could buy it for their personal purposes). Unless it's prohibited in their Terms of Service, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't allow it.
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Time Travel Kill Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2015, 03:39:59 PM
You should never travel back to a time where you existed.

That's my theory.

Why not? It would be interesting to meet myself.

Drugs are not harmful to society if used responsibly. Look at the Netherlands, for instance.

AFAIK it is! When some people eats drugs, the people living near are in danger especially women in one way or another.

That's why I said “if used responsibly”.

The big players have agreed: it ain't gonna happen. Take your head out of the sand, and start reading the logs.

I'm sorry, but I can't take anything seriously from the trilema.com blog.
