For me i usually do is check the chart if there will be another wave (when the price will go low) but you will need to research a bit to get the perfect calculation. and when it rise again it would be very easy to make profit. 

If you wan to invest safely, invest in the perfect time because maybe when you invested then the price goes low so be careful of that.

There is a chance you get profit holding it but still there is now sureness that it will go high. so i would recommend do it at your own risk, or just trade.

Yeah bittrex can be very slow if the system is overloaded mine takes 5hrs until i received the BTC.

For me it would be still BTC because without it there will be no coins.

For me i just do is buy low sell high and i get profit and grow my btc.
