You got to keep your wallet's security top notch, once someone takes hold of it there is no going back unlike banks where you can ask for support.

Hi cryptonias I have a friend who is very worried about his portfolio because since 2017 he haven't been able to make huge profit out of crypto cos he has no money to invest and i told him to joined airdrop and bounties ,his worries now is all his coins and tokens are not popular ones this is his list 1)Apollo currency 2)electroneum 3)senno 4)slate currency 5)avinoc 6)snapparrazi Etc all this are make from airdrops and bounties and the highest ones are around 50$ presently the rest are 30$ down ,what kinda advice should I pass onto him?
Well, if you got it from the bounty and airdrop it certainly does not sell these coins , wait for the market to reverse and then sell , I don't think you 30$, these will greatly change your life at the moment Thing is, before these tokens reach a good price, team would have abandoned the project and he will just become a bagholder. But yeah, $30 is not much so it's just better to hold them and hope for the best.

If you keep any big sum of coins on an exchange, you're almost more at fault than the exchange. How many pwned exchanges does it take for people to realize to get their coins immediately off the exchange once your done trading.
exactly my thoughts , the users who keep large amounts of coins anywhere but their cold wallets are risking too much and especially after this many scams/"hacks" , people never learn on the other hand it doesn't change the fact that scamming others is bad and I hope tradesatoshi is not another bunch of scamming female reproductive organs It's not that 'people never learn', there are always new people keep coming into the space, when one learns there is another who is new and falls for the scam (and then learns).

I just watched the trailer, it looks like every other action movie trailer, I can't really see the big fuss some people are trying to make out of this movie, most people who don't hold crypto think, its used for some kind of criminal activity, the movie company are here to make money, so they are making a movie they think people will watch. I'm looking forward to watching this crypto movie.
Yep, it's a typical plot, they just made that money laundering around crypto and now 'hero' is trying to solve it. Movies are watched by masses and I don't think this trailer anything showed anything positive about it, so certainly it would bring negative impression. to be fair we can not deny the fact that a lot of illegal activities have been happening specially ever since altcoin market started growing bigger and a lot of shady stuff have been going on in exchanges. we all already know that. for example 2017 was a great example of how much scams can easily happen in altcoin market as billions of dollars changed hand in the name of ICO and a big percentage of them were laundering money while disguising it as raising funds for a crypto project!!! Yes I agree, it's easier to launder money into crypto but it has it has pros too. Regarding that last point, now there are regulations at place to avoid that.

I recently bought Bitcoin from an ATM. I tendered a $100 bill and got bitcoin worth $87. 13 USD for the ATM fee? I definitively wouldn't use an ATM when its so much simpler and cheaper to do it online. I guess that's the price for privacy? But the ATMs should be protected, and video camera covered... Probably that's why people are hesitant to use direct crypto - fiat ATM's, fees don't make it worthy to use. Can you try importing your pvk to other wallet? Problem seems to be on Blockchain.info's side.

Ive got a lot of this in my wallet. Actually, I opted to try cleaning my wallet and seeing this irritates me. Hoping that there are some restriction on creating a token cause many people enjoy creating display tokens. I dont know what good they can get from doing this,
AGREED: They want to draw attention by spamming their tokens which is clearly a suspicious way of promoting their project. Be careful as well might some of them have virus attached phishing paraphernalia.
These are not tokens used for promotion, these are just spam tokens from spammers and this tokens can be unseen from explorer side (contact etherscan they will remove it, if it's serious).

IMHO anonymity in crypto is just a matter of time. If you can see all wallets changing balances this can be analyzed and with low volumes like now, it can be easily solved with different algos. Another question is the bridge where you can change your money on fiat, where all criminal can be caught.
Exactly, tracking everyone's crypto transactions is time consuming and privacy breaching, just regulate the mediums where crypto gets converted to fiat.

I would go with BTT, because bitcoin's abbreviation is BTC, for unknown reason you remove 'C', so BT and add T at the end for 'talk' word.
Lmfao @myself.

Not sure if there could be any more red flag than that name, however, that bittrex listing made me awe.

It's quite hard and goes against the basic purpose of cryptos which is privacy, cash is regulated but it's still used for money laundering, right?
|
|
|
It does not seem like a phishing attempt, some people make random tokens or clone of popular tokens for whatever reason.

End of paper money? that's bit over the top. You can't just abolish something that took years to build, BTC is still very new.
|
|
|
There are already coins with better technology than Bitcoin but still people prefer Bitcoin, why? Probably, because when any company looking to integrate crypto, they will add BTC first.

Mind sharing your address/transaction id? Afaik, you can not spend funds that are yet to be confirmed.
I pay around 20-30 cents for my BTC transactions and they get confirmed within 5 minutes.

I think you should study the team and the idea of the project. The team now plays a major role because many scammers can change names and release new fraudulent projects.
The most important demonstrators of currency are the whitepaper and the team. While the Whitepaper is given extensive information about what they are and what they will be useful for, the team should have the power to keep project alive. Most ICOs don't do what they promise in their whitepaper, the difference between imaginary product displayed in WP and real one is huge, like a real horse and a pen drawn horse by 5 year old.

Seems mods have become serious af these days, I got my post count decreased by 15 posts one day (threads got deleted so my posts indirectly) and still get 1-2 daily lol.
Guess, I need to learn to differentiate between spam threads better.

May be you should find a job you love? Try freelancing. Bounties usually take an hour or two's time. You can keep doing bounties and do other work as well, who knows if you encounter a golden bounty and make a killing in it.
And also having a job in current market helps even though you may hate it. There are people who are willing work but they don't have work.

Why not choose/add steem as well? You can sell votes, delegate steem power or vote yourself — it's one of the best investments around. You don't just have to hold it like many other coins until you are in profit.

As we all know still exit scam ICO's are victimizing investors including me in my frustration I wish these people be killed or if busted they must sentenced to death Penalty are you favor of it.
Nope, it's investor who should be cautious before investing any money, and when you invest in ICO returns are never 'guarnteed' — you would see something similar in terms when you invest.

ATM's are used worldwide, if they were 'so risky' it would have never entered mainstream. Usually, there are cctv's around atm's, I guess they will find culprit. Anyway, it was not user's fund that got stolen.
