6021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Hits $ 460 - Equivalent Price to November 2017 - Whats Next ? on: March 29, 2018, 06:22:06 PM
this whole situation on the market reminds me very much of January of this year, when everybody was in the same confusion.
Same here.of all the years I have been engage with crypto I do observe that price specially on first quarter of every year we do really experience bearish movement but for this year its quiet longer that I expected which it almost last until near april and we don't know if it would still continue or bounce back.
Next stop 350$, choo choo. Wink
In all reality, it will depend on what btc is going to do.
Bitcoin would always have the capability to dictate the whole market which almost all alts would really follow the same trend.
6022  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex locked my 500 BTC account and is asking for police report on: March 28, 2018, 07:50:11 PM
either there is some miscommunication, or i am missing something.

why are they treating this as a compromised account? you're not saying your account was hacked (and funds stolen), so why are they asserting that and requiring a police report?

I think it must have something to do with this.

bitfinex asked me to do a complete verification after I lost access to my account a while ago.

From reading the email Bitfinex sent they are not convinced the OP is the rightful owner of the account. If I'm reading the OP correctly they are either trying to recover a hacked account/lost password or they did that earlier and now Bitfinex has become suspicious about it.

This sounds like the most reasonable explanation. It is a lot of coin, after all, millions of dollar's worth, so bitfinex is simply covering their asses with this one. To OP, unfortunately, they do have the right to request for verification to prove ownership and identity, it says so in their terms. To what extent, it's difficult to say.

Notary public and all that won't cost you much but I would take the advice of others and just engage a qualified legal practitioner to get all this done for you. Pretty sure they'd do it for a small fee probably less than 1% of that 500 BTC.

Not a terrible cost to pay, considering the sum involved. Why anyone would want to store so much outside a wallet they don't control I wouldn't know....
This is quiet odd actually on where OP doesn't have the access on such account. If I do stored up hundreds of BTC's on an exchange account then forgetting its password would really be a dumb thing or almost impossible for a person to be done since it worth millions of dollars and neglecting it is impossible. For now if you are really the owner then theres nothing to worry since you can able to comply on what those things being required.
6023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the BEST? on: March 28, 2018, 07:07:59 PM
How are you defining those promising bounty campaigns? The best way to earn nowadays is to get employment. You can do airdrops, bounties, etc. if you have extra time but while you are young or you have the capacity to work then why not be employed? or if you have enough capital you can start your own business. Having multiple source of income, employment + business + crypto's will be the best way to earn nowadays but you have to maximize your time.
Defining promising campaigns is nearly impossible since no one can really point out which one would succeed or not.If someone do rely on bounty earnings for its living or expenses then it would really be a risky thing and same as you suggested why not be employed since we can still engaged into crypto while we are still working since we know bounty programs doesn't really consume too much time.Diversification of your time well will really give you advantage.
6024  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: MrGox Trustee Sells more $700 Milion Today ( Bitcoin goes down again ) on: March 28, 2018, 06:28:46 PM
I still don't understand the reason why he is selling the BTC and BCH. Why can't he simply transfer those coins to their rightful owners? Also, I am curious what is going to happen with the balance in other forked coins, such as Bitcoin Gold, Super-Bitcoin and Bitcoin Silver. Is he selling those coins as well?
It's easy. Bitcoins are sold after the claim is recognized officially and the court made the decision on compensation of damage. All of these decisions according to the law accepted in yen. Everyone who thinks that in Japan the use of bitcoins is fully regulated is very wrong. Bitcoin in Japan is only a means of payment. How can damage be compensated by means of payment?

OK... In that case I have a doubt. Since the trustee has sold the Bitcoins / BCH and converted them to Japanese Yen, he is supposed to pay a long-term capital gains tax over these gains, right? So the Mt Gox users will receive the JPY they are owned, minus the tax?
Possible on such presumption but doesn't still have a word yet towards that matter. If that's the case then Mt Gox users wont really have any choice but to accept such compensation with tax deductions.
6025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need to double 4,000 USD in 2 weeks on: March 28, 2018, 06:02:54 PM
To say the fact no coin will double your investment in 2 weeks because the market is facing some dip correction and what I will suggest is you invest into ICO like Eligma ICO but it will take more than 2 weeks due to ICO processing.
You are just purely advertising your signature without being sensible or you don't even know  that it would able to resolve OP's question or query. You can assure on 2 weeks time it would even give you 2x in your investment. How sure you are?We do know if coins hits up on exchange we do expect on such decline of price which we can presume hitting up 2x on ico price would really takes time.
6026  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A daily 1% gains. on: March 28, 2018, 05:42:11 PM
I will keep it simple for you here. Anything is possible in the world of crypto if you know how to achieve it. In the trading world it means that if you are well experienced and have high knowledge about what you are doing then chances are there that you " might " be able to do it but the thing is that how much ever experienced you are, the luck might change any time since crypto is too volatile and heavily manipulated. So we cant be assured of getting 1% daily. Some times we might and the other times we may not get it.
With this very volatile market we can really presumed or expect that losing out money will be there but reaching out targets is really very plausible with this market. There are even times that we might able to get  even more percentage on a single day depending on which coin we are engage to.Chances are always there but this would only depend on how we gonna choose and how we gonna do such actions towards it.
6027  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does CoinMarketCap (CMC) manipulates the market? on: March 26, 2018, 08:12:30 PM
I have gone threw the whole article , the amount of information provided blew my mind , I do not know from where to start but we can bypass the first 5 coins mentioned in the article the difference off marketcap does not make huge change or effect the rank list but there is still some mistakes specially with BTC official site , it is a joke to leave it as BCH site .

starting from coin number 6 things started to get interesting the difference in circulating supply in some coins is huge and is for sure effecting the whole market specially for a coin like Stellar and the list  goes on and on .

I always go to CMC for info but never invested according to them , I always use the social media accounts for the coins I like and ask them the  questions by myself if I am to invest on a certain coin  .

Price and marketcap differences on top 5 coins is considerable which same as you said it doesnt really make an impact or whatsoever in the price but when we do tried to go further we can really see the differences of numbers into other top ranked coins. 6th onwards which isnt really right at all.If you are just basing on CMC on most of the time when you do make investment or trading then these numbers will affect you.We dont even know if these are intentional or not.
6028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Signature Bounties and local language forums on: March 25, 2018, 08:22:36 PM
Some ICOs allow to post in local sections, others, like my signature Equi, let only 30% of posts in local sections. But to be honest my suggestion is not participate in signatures at least you don't know English. I know guys who use online translator to post in English section. But it is disgusting. I can't stand this members, thus they pollute forum with non-sense messages.
This is why we do have local boards which if you can really hardly post in pure English then you don't have any choice but to stay up with your own local board and I do say that most campaigns don't count post on locals. For some campaigns I do see some consideration but most of the time they are not allowing it.Using up translations might be your last resort but having these tool would really be obvious and you might be discriminated if someone grammar-nazzy will spot you out.
6029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking will still be significant until cryptocurrencies can "stand on their own on: March 25, 2018, 08:02:16 PM
In all honestly your right that at this time, bank is still significant in 50% in our society. But on the statement “until cryptocurrency can stand on its own”, I don’t agree with. It can stand long time ago without the needs of or to be transacting with the banking system. It is now independent, but that is not the problem. The people is not yet ready or afraid to live in a total undocumented process.
I think you are even understating the fact. Banks are significant more than 50% in our society except we just want to lie to ourselves. I do not see banks being ripped off their position in long time from now. Most especially in places where there is even limited access to information and internet, and in even places that there is full access, some are still playing the traditional card to everything and the prefer it that way. In some perspective banks already tarted to lose their significance from common people's economical aspects. I strongly believe this will keep on increasing in coming days.
Banks would never ever lose its significance when it comes to economical matter. We do know their role which most people do know on how these institution words on the entire economy.Crypto might stand on their own but not coming to a point on where people would really transfer from traditional legal system to a decentralized one.I would like to know if how cryptos would stand on their own if they would be still on uncontrollable side?
6030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: IS ETHERDELTA SAFE? on: March 25, 2018, 07:44:21 PM
A few months ago there was an issue with Etherdelta and some people lost their ETH and tokens.

Has the issue been fixed, is it safe now?

For now I haven't seen any issues or complaints towards this thing where people do get hacked with their tokens on using ED. Seems like the issue had been resolved but we should not still be confident and be still responsible with our imported keys on such site.Exchanges would never ever be safe when it comes on storing out tokens. For now I haven't used back ED after the incident because there are other options when it comes to decentralized exchanges.
6031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties that pay in Bitcoins on: March 25, 2018, 07:11:39 PM
Good day, am still a newbie but I want to ask some questions.

Please, are their bounty programs that pay specifically in bitcoin or Etherum or in any established coins on coinmarketcap?

Do existing coins do any sort of bounty programs for promotional purposes?

I need replies to this
Nope, since if we do talk about bounty then most of the time those projects would really tend to pay up to their own tokens. The thing you do mentioned about bitcoin payment then this is still possible where the team decided to paid up bitcoins instead of their own altcoins. You can easily see these stuffs on services section and if you do talk about bounty then you would able to find it also into different board.
6032  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Matthew 7:12 - Whatever they do to you, you shall also do to them on: March 24, 2018, 11:45:57 PM

But i think not all banks are against Bitcoin that all of them want Bitcoin to be eliminated because here in my country our Central banks are very supportive to Bitcoin in which they allow our major banks to be in partnership with our local exchange that we can use their cash out facilities anytime and anywhere every time we cash out. With this hospitality that given by our banks to us i could say banks are not really united of their stand against Bitcoin existence.
As of today, majority of the banks doesn't want bitcoin yet as they thinks that investors here in crypto are just manipulating the price and it has sort of impact with our economy. But here in our country, there were some banks who are considering to have bitcoin as part of their daily transactions.
Bitcoin been part of daily transactions? I dont think so and i dont know which bank you are preferring to since there were no banks that do directly made a transactions which do involves bitcoin. It is possible but on indirect way.Its not really surprising for banking sector to oppose into crypto because they do know its capability and tendency of possible effects if citizens would make such transition.
6033  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: investing in hyip sites? on: March 24, 2018, 10:27:56 PM
There are thousands of hyip sites running in internet and most of the time many people still investing in that scheme. The good thing about of investing in hyip sites is you can earn 200% or more  ROI in your total  investment like it said. like hell ? its obviously SCAM ! ! ! ! .  and also many people are still investing in that same shit even though they know it or they even scammed before. change your lifeeeee ! , your taking risk from trash source.
This is why we do all know that all things that do offer too good to be true are just purely scams. Why do some people joined it even they do experience being scammed before.I do think 2 possible reasons, one is that those person are being too greedy which they do like to invest even they are already aware on the situation, second there are people who do risk on 1st days on HYIP because chances on getting out with profit is there but this would really be a risky thing.
6034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets be careful on what we are investing on: March 24, 2018, 03:34:57 PM
Read this several minutes ago. We must be vigilant on what we are investing and must do some research or study first if the project that we wanted to join is legit or not. So sad that there are some ICOs who are just making money for their own sake. Because of this issues, people becomes scared of cryptocurrencies and thinks that other cryptos that are legit are scams too.

http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/denaro-ico-raises-8-7m-and-goes-up-in-smoke/
This would been always part of the risk since we do know ICO investment do really have the tendency on getting failed or scammed along the way.You cant change the fact since there are really people who are greedy which they do all the possible things as long they can able to make money. They do see that ICO are one of the best ways to earn easy money to their investors.Creating a very unique project which can really caught attention but on the other side devs do already have the plans on scamming.
6035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance... is this place a scam? on: March 23, 2018, 09:53:15 PM
I like this stock exchange. It has simple registration and high liquidity. It has a lot of good coins and it looks safe.
as far as I know the stock market is not entirely safe as well, because every journey of an activity there must be a weakness, including the stock market also has its own weakness as well.
You didnt get on what he said about binance which isnt really right at all since we do know that this is a crypto exchange which isnt really related to stock exchange. They are entirely different.Binance isnt a scam and most people do know that this is a good exchange and becoming famous eventually and i didnt expect for this to happen.I remember the days where binance just got launched and popularity becomes widespread.
6036  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For newbie, Why I choose bounty over ICO? on: March 23, 2018, 09:07:01 PM
Hello newbie,

I wanna share my experience with you about bounty/ ICO. In December 2017, there was so many ICOs that you could get x10 or x20 profit.  Grin

However, It was competitive to join in those hot ICO because of whitelistiing and gas war battle. I finally found one and get whitelisted. It guaranteed that every whitelisted member can contribute with 1ETH. The market started to bearish in early Februry, I decided to contribute 0.5 ETH, at the same time, I also joined 1 bounty. As of today 03/23, the free tokens i got from bounty are still same price of ICO, but the tokens I bought from ICO goes down from 0.0005 ETH to 0.0002 ETH.  Cry

I realized that many ICO just goes down when they hit the exchange, with that experience, I mostly join bounty.
You have nothing to loose to join bounty but extra income.  Cheesy

Do you have any experience with your ICO or bounty?

This is as-usual bro. If you getting the tokens there would huge number of trade for this coin for sure. If you missed to sell the tokens, with 3 days on the token listed on exchange. You will miss the price you see in the time it launched.
This is the big burden for many ICO projects bro.
So you also ready to sell the tokens whenever you find the tokens listed buddy. Hope you won't do this mistake at all again.
In most cases this do really happen where a certain coin get listed. They do usually tend to rise up its price into some percentage and later on it would dump. This is why we should be wise on when to sell out and dont tend to wait for the dump because you will surely regret when you see the sweet spot but you just let it pass.If you do believe on the project then you would need to risk to hold on for long term and dont be tempted out to sell off.

He created an account just to ask this question, why? I see a lot of people do this and I wonder why they do it? and see that in most cases they do not even respond in the thread they create.
OP, do you feel ashamed to claim on faucets? why the hell did you created a bitcointalk account to ask that question?
Here are these possible theories:

  • He found the solution to the problem and forgot the account
  • Marked(bookmark) this page and checked it offline
  • Lost access to this account
  • If he/she post after 14 days of this publication, it may be an account farming (Such posts are seldom deleted)

I think if he/she has found the solution, at least have the decency to come back online and inform the community that he/she has found the solution with the help of the forum members. I still remember one member you says that he has 7 bitcoins, but didn't know how to retrieved it. Everyone tries to help him/her, apparently, he/she didn't came back so I'm sure that one way or another he/she was able to retrieved it with the help of our community. At least a good thank you note or even acknowledges that indeed problem is solved already.
Dont expect since there are really people who would really come randomly and register for the sake on asking questions and later on when he found out a solution then neglecting this thread in most of the case. This is why we should really got used to it.Any random guys could really register simply then ask then abandon without minding on the thread he created.Dont expect for a thank you,it sad to think that no ones appreciated communities feedback or point of view.
6038  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cambridge Analytica type tricks used to FUD crypto? on: March 23, 2018, 07:28:50 PM
The Facebook scandal opened people's eyes on how they're being manipulated.

The news is dominated currently by Cambridge Analytica, the data company that helped propel Donald Trump into the White House. It is in hot water this week, following reports that it harvested information from 50 million Facebook users without their consent.

You can see how they went about their business in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpbeOCKZFfQ

"The two fundamental human drivers when it comes to taking information onboard effectively are hopes and fears, and many of those are unspoken and even unconscious. You didn’t know that was a fear until you saw something that just evoked that reaction from you. And our job is to get, is to drop the bucket further down the well than anybody else, to understand what are those really deep-seated underlying fears, concerns. It’s no good fighting an election campaign on the facts, because actually it’s all about emotion."

Could it be possible that the same kind of analytics and manipulations are called in by banks and/or governments to FUD cryptocurrencies?

I don't think that you have to even go that further if governments or banks really wanted to spread FUD about cryptocurrencies in the social medias. Just a simple 1 article can really put a lot of pressure on the investors and the market as well. And it some other social media publisher or author will just spin the news around for clickbait, I'm sure that it will have a domino effect putting a dent on the market price. So we don't need analytics here, its not rocket science. Try to test it yourself, just post negative or fake news in your social media account and I'm sure that it will draw a lot of attention and can bring a lot of negative sentiments to emotional traders.
For us experienced users here on crypto any FUDS wont really easily shaken us but same as you said tendency on creating a panic or pressure would really be there no matter how false is the news is but there are still people who do took advantage and the same time people do easily panic too. Manipulation isnt really surprising either they would use trick to FUD crypto the truth would really still prevail.
6039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to trade wisely on: March 22, 2018, 11:04:32 PM
Personally, I for myself identified some good thoughts:
1. Do not invest all funds in one currency
2. Before you buy something, then study the coin in detail.
3. Do not listen to advice, but think with your head.
4. Do not keep funds on stock exchanges, but transfer to cold wallets. (If you buy in the middle or long term)
5. If there is a financial opportunity, then buy a separate computer / laptop for bidding and wallets. Your money is always at risk, do not go to phishing sites and pages, always check them!
Read up this advice since these are the basic things you do need for you to be on a good track.Always decide for yourself not just easily believing into other words because most likely you would really commit mistakes because of this one.

If you want to trade wisely you should make your own mistakes and look for ways to escape from them. After many mistakes you will have more experience - and you will begin trade wisely.

Making mistakes are dumb thing to do, you rather do the things that you can avoid mistakes but as a newbie or even professional ones avoiding mistakes is not possible. Therefore, make a learning for those things so that you would able to reduce the risk on next trades.
6040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking will still be significant until cryptocurrencies can "stand on their own on: March 22, 2018, 10:18:04 PM
for the moment the Bank is still standing upright, then how is the continuation of the bank if Crypto already stand alone and in the public know so that in use fully and all countries wear it. is there going to be a temporary panic in the financial world? .... and all the banks in every country collapse is that what will happen hopefully there is no market panic
It is very possible that at some point in the future due to an economic crisis many banks are going to disappear, however we cannot expect the whole banking sector to disappear, that will not happen, banks will adapt to the new circumstances and if cryptocurrencies become an important part for the economy of the world you can be sure they are going to find ways to transact them and use them in their favor.
Why would they vanish if they would able to adopt crypto? They would really have any other choice but to accept it rather than on choosing up to stop their service due to the competition. If  crypto can stand alone then we do have lots of options and we cant really deny the fact that there were always people who do entrust traditional banking sector no matter what and I do strongly believe that crypto wont possibly reach that state.
