I'd argue that OTC trades aren't transactions that are worth tracking. If they don't hit the blockchain they aren't influencing suppy, demand, or the price, no? These OTC trades are just the exchange moving bitcoin one paper from one person's account to another. Nothing's been exchanged, it's an accounting adjustment in the IOU that is banking acounting. The total market cap includes the $24B that Circle claims is their OTC business because the market cap caculation is the number of all bitcoins in existence multiplied by the price per bitcoin. The market cap includes the entire value of any transaction that could conceivably occur and is not a measure of liquidity. The metric you should be using is called "the float" which is the transaction activity that occurs on a daily basis. Why should OTC transactions be considered part of bitcoin transaction activity if they don't ever leave the wallet they're sitting in? I don't care what Circle or Coinbase's OTC transaction activity is until it gets so large that it requires they go buy more Bitcoin in the open market over the blockchain (to handle their internal demand). Thanks for the well explained thought, I know a little about banking terminology as I studied that during collage, the marketcap includes the OTC transactions because they are still part of the supply, and IMO, the barometer here to determine how big the transaction is hard to determine if done with OTC transactions, Coinbase can make a statement but it's hard to verify it, unlike transactions that appeared in the blockchain. Unfortunately I don't think there's an accurate way of knowing how much bitcoin is being traded through OTC, besides these companies publicly announcing them.
I know it's impossible to determine the exact figure but I believe it's higher compared to the total amount being traded in all combine exchanges. What's your opinion? i doubt that it is "higher". specially not overall. however it is possible that in certain times the OTC trading volume increased in comparison to exchanges trading volume. for example at times when there are a lot of whales accumulating bitcoin but don't want anybody else find out about it and more importantly they don't want the market be affected by it. but generally i believe the exchange volumes is still higher. My opinion on this is that I think whales are accumulating through OTC and dump in exchanges to cause panic, and if they do the same method again and again, this will only makes them more profitable. |

You can't easily do that. you are implying that everyone have money to buy a lot when market falls which is not like that in the reality. it's easier said than done, just try it by yourself, have you bought anything when price fall down? That depends on the coin that you investing, you should choose those who has a good liquidity so you can sell anytime, regardless of the market condition. I think that Ethereum better that Bitcoin because it has absolutly benefits. Eth faster, most of all new tokens based on Ethereum ERC-20 standart. Ethereum more popular for transactions and the price of transaction is cheapest than price in BTC.
It's clearly better than bitcoin but bitcoin is the first to gain the attention of the people, BTC is called the king for a reason. For me, I would not bother comparing both, BTC Is more valuable so I also invest in BTC, as I have invested with ETH and some tokens. We are in the early stage, a lot of things will happen in the future, more development, and new coins will exist, but this market will just continue to grow. |

This is important because I have passed KYC long before December distribution but whitelisted 2 days after and didn't received my bounty for December. my friend reciecved bounty for december after he passed kys. everybody who passed kys get their bouty in same second. i believe that through contract. So he had fulfilled KYC and whitelisted ETH address before distribution. Like I told you before I had KYC long before December bounty and didn't get paid because I have whitelisted my ETH address 2 days after distribution. So meaning the amount in the spreadsheet will not get fulfilled because you passed the whitelisting late? Meaning he will be entitled on the monthly reward starting this month. There are lots of possible outcomes in the future, who knows if cryptocurrency might be able to replace fiat in the future, I mean its not impossible since technology is evolving and so does the economy, and cryptocurrency might be the future's use of having safer and more secured transactions and payments, I can say much more about this but it would really be long and would get much wider if I continue making theories about crypto in the future, all I can say for now is that there will be altcoins that would likely to disappear and new ones will surely come in the market.

Also happens to me so many times, we sell our coins for many reasons, like avoiding losses, emergency situation and trading to a new promising coins, but always regretting later because the price was pumped, the best strategy for me is to just never looked back anymore after I sold my coin, so I will see and regret selling to early.
Me, I never sell to avoid more losses because a loss is still a loss. I can sell sometimes because of emergency and although I don't like to do it, but I have no choice, I need to sell since I need money. We were thinking of the old days where the more we hold the better the chance to increase, but last year was completely the opposite. |

Don’t give up your journey in cryptocurrency, just keep on doing what is right and you will get good profit on that. Giving up is not an option and it will never bring positive impact to you. If you are in doubt about the market, just take a rest but never to sold your coins at a loss. Top coins is really a good option for a safe investment, you’d better to invest on that coins when bear market is still on. Safe investment is not good for crypto, even if it's in the top, the risk is still very high. The fact that we are expecting a big return, that makes this kind of investment risky, so should you leave the market? You mean why EON token not listed to coinmarketcap or why their own EON exchange not showing there? As for token - CMC have some min requiments (min 10k usd daily trading as I heard) for listing there. And as for exchanges they have some requiments too. Are they going to list EON to some other exchangrs? Or this will be trading on their own? At last Kucoin would be good.  When the excudo exchange is opened the volume is quite high at least 2-4 BTC per 24 hours I think that is enough and is eligible for CMC But unfortunately not for a long time only a few months. Btw do you know if you want to be listed on CMC tokens must have a blockchain? It will be listed once the volume will increase and the best chance is to get listed in big exchanges. I think the importance of upcoming AMA session of today has increased to get the view of the CEO of Pundi X live on facebook in few hours. This start and cancellation of ICO for functionX is going to be main subject of discussion, I guess so. I wasn't supporting that idea of new token the way it just came out. I think bitcoin dominance remain at 53% because many altcoin in market. Investor right now not just investing their money only in bitcoin. Beside that, many investor converting their altcoin to bitcoin. I think bitcoin dominance should be below 50% because if remain above 50%, its hard for altcoin to grow and cryptomarket too much depending on bitcoin movement
The increase of dominance of bitcoin is bad for the overall market, that means people are selling their alts and buying btc, but it's only a one way success. Just recently, the dominance has dropped a bit when there's a little pump, but when it dump again, the dominant easily increase. Still, at above 50% dominance rate, I think the market is scary. |
