6043  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Investing in gold in 2019 on: June 23, 2019, 08:19:43 AM
Do they want to put the US Dollar back on the gold standard?
Gold can be graded, bought and also sold on any currency, it just depends on the currency used in the transaction which determines it's evaluation.
It's mostly the USD though that's the used standard and that's because it's one of the most stable and popular currencies of the world.
It would be $10,000 per ounce of gold?
No one know this for sure(exactly),the price of gold fluctates, not that much though.
What determines the price of one ounce of gold is actually the spot price of gold, which is gold in its somewhat raw form, before its sold to manufacturers who shape it into whatever they wish, so based on the spot price do this manufacturers fix what the price of gold will be.
But mind you, to answer your question, the spot price is never standard, it changes frequently(every now and then) due to market trends and happenings.
So no it Wouldn't be 10,000 per ounce, it'll be whatever the spot price of gold is.
6044  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What people think about the KYC/AML/CFT security theatre outside of our bubble? on: June 22, 2019, 09:23:09 PM
Pros and cons mate, kYC/AML has its good and bad sides really, when viewed from angle X, then it's a good and needed regulation, but when viewed from another angle, the reverse is the case.

It keeps away impersonators, thieves, bad guys in general and it also makes it easy to track and trace them.
But on another end it distorts privacy, it intrudes and gives up anonymity and vital documents which is in itself also not good.

I think the determining factor would be the purpose why you need to carry out KYC or AML, if it's worth it, if it's a trusted body(that you can trust with your documents),etc.if it's for a worthy purpose then it makes sense.
For example in the crypto world, most users give up their identity just to claim some shit tokens on an ICO, those documents most times fall into the hands of scammers and untrustworthy people who use it for ill purposes, now that's an example of a lame purpose to give out vital documents about yourself.
6045  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for newbies on: June 22, 2019, 01:01:24 PM
Safety/security should be utmost on the mind of every cryptocurrency trader/enthusiast.
Just as the saying goes"Its better safe than sorry".
Some people just tend to wait till the problem pops up at their doorstep before taking precautions to prevent future further occurrences, but the wise crypto user ought to be proactive enough to prevent hacks by following all the preventive measures that we've been inundated with on so many threads.
This is more valid than before as the price is surging...
Lol, you can say that again, scammers are hungrier at the moment, they can forsee big bucks coming their way if successful.
6046  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which crypto to buy? on: June 21, 2019, 06:27:38 PM
DYOR into possible and potential good Altcoins, weigh your options on putting money into them, how profitable it would be in the long run, try doing a sterner research into their use case et al, you can then invest an amount you can afford to lose.
No one can specifically recommend coins for you, it's best you do that yourself.

Or rather still put that money into buying more bitcoins, its easier, safer and with less heart/headaches.
6047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help on: June 21, 2019, 06:17:04 PM
If you're looking for bounties that accept junior members try checking here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0
Only ICO/altcoin bounties accept from junior members and above, but to get to bitcoin bounties you'll have to rank up to at least member rank.
I need help sending some robots to the campaigns you accept. Please help.
No one will help you on this. It's not allowed.

6049  Other / Meta / Re: Death threat? on: June 21, 2019, 04:54:35 AM
Being a lower level account and at the same time having some bad reviews is an absolute prove of a user being shaddy
These factors you mentioned doesn't make the user shaddy or a killer per se, it just does not prove anything.
and its been seen the same by most of the new users here..
It has not. They probably have the least knowledge in here, and most are simply here to earn by taking shortcuts and posting low quality stuff, but that's as far as it goes, shaddy/killers=No.
on the other hand contacting police for forum threats from random users looks like an extreme step,
It depends on how the threatened views the threat, damn if you believe your life is truly in danger, better reporting to the police than the mods.
6050  Other / Meta / Re: Do we really need trading discussion section? on: June 20, 2019, 01:07:30 PM
Imagine for example I asked how to get profit with trading?
This is in itself a generic question, more so why it gets that sort of answers.
Real/experienced traders come up with more technical questions, discussions and advice on that board and it keeps spammers away since they don't know shit about it.
But asking how to make profits is a lazy question really.
6051  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism or not? on: June 20, 2019, 12:58:09 PM
So you just copied a whole wall of text verbatim then put a link down, it sure would have been better posting just the link alone for users to click on it and go read from the original source.

Even if it wouldn't be tagged plagiarism since you linked the original thread, it still passes as being lazy on the forum and a dearth of a pinch of effort.
You may not get banned, but you'll sure get ignored by a whole lot.
6052  Other / Meta / Re: How to properly report ban evasion ? on: June 19, 2019, 01:14:54 PM
I think ban evaders are the most difficult culprits to spot, you just cannot have sufficient proof to claim such users has been banned previously except of course if such users shoots himself on the foot by unknowingly saying he or she has been banned before, to me that's the only smooth and easy way for such users to be banned(again)
Every other evidence must be put under scrutiny, leaving the mods with a very difficult decision to make, most times they just simply leave it unhandled since IP checks wouldn't come into play.
Really ban evasion rule isn't so much implemented on the forum, wonder why it's still in the rules.
6053  Other / Beginners & Help / You don't have to buy one bitcoin at once on: June 19, 2019, 12:59:10 PM
Money constraint is one big investment impediment, you come across individuals who claim they cannot invest in bitcoin simply because it's expensive and not affordable to them, instead they keep trying out with other alternatives time and again, with the same outcome, it's either no profit at all(due to scam), or little profits that count for nothing.

Such individuals fail to put into consideration the fact that you do not have to buy one bitcoin at a spot, you could sketch/map out an investment strategy(long term),and make it a mandate to buy X amount of bitcoin in X amount of time(either daily, weekly or monthly),gradually as long as such investor is aware of patience being one important rule, he/she in a few years time can accumulate one bitcoin, and now that's a wise investment plan rather than putting money in ICO's simply because they are cheaper, you'll end up realizing you're losing money that could give you a heads start in owning one bitcoin and even much more.

Draw out a plan today on how to acquire bitcoins this way, and sooner or later you'll be happy you did.
6054  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie accounts should not be allowed to post in certain forums. on: June 18, 2019, 07:00:53 PM
Restricting newbies is something theymos wouldn't do, at least not again. And I quite agree with him on that because to some degree it's not only the newbie account spreading the said FUD, lies and disinformation on some sections of the forum, a percentage of every rank is also guilty of such offense.
So newbie jail is a big no,its either total abstinence of that section or self mod your thread.
6055  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CRYPTO EDUCATION FAUCET on: June 18, 2019, 10:53:25 AM
Faucets are to an extent long gone really, very few  crypto enthusiast still perform faucet tasks and I wonder why.
It yields little or nothing, faucets and unprofitable and you do not need to engage in them to gain any cryptocurrency knowledge, the forum affords you the opportunity already, if you'll just read.
6056  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Do you expect/want to make a lot of money without much effort? on: June 18, 2019, 05:29:21 AM
Not everyone wants easy money and that's simply because there is no such thing as easy money, what people call easy money also embodies it's own share of work, be it wittingly or unwittingly one must have put in X amount of effort.
The only difference is that some income(money),requires more effort to gain/garner and most times its worthwhile, long lasting and self satisfying.
Think of newbies who come into the forum, just to earn one merit and rank up to Jr member, just to join one ICO bounty or the other, they sure have put in effort and also work, as they are gonna be making X amount of posts a week to receive tokens, but most times the tokens could be worthless and the project a scam, this is because their efforts are minimal and they hope to earn without much of it.
But unlike the newbie who tasks him/herself to stay off bounties firstly, make quality posts, rank up to probably full member or senior member, which we all know takes time before applying for one of the bitcoin paying bounties, now that's more hardwork and effort and definitely it'll yield more income, satisfaction and the effort will be worthwhile.
6057  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Your own conspiracy theory for Bitcoin & other on: June 17, 2019, 07:03:50 PM
Satoshi is a pseudonym for a particular government.Tough to come to full grasp with the possibility that a sole man created all this and set it up, and then goes suddenly AWOL, it probably could be different brains from across different continents put together to make all this possible, the US, China, Japan, you name it. It just cannot be a single man.
6058  Other / Meta / Re: Can We have bitcointalk user interface changed to something like Facebook UI? on: June 16, 2019, 04:45:15 PM
Absolutely no one
6059  Other / Meta / Re: How can we take Bitcoin Talk back into the Bitcoin community? on: June 16, 2019, 04:31:26 PM
The first thing we can do is not ban people unless they are clearly spamming or scamming.  Roll Eyes
No one gets banned for scam or spam, those offences are corrected by the trust system(flag system),as such users are given a red trust(trust flag),while excessive spam leads to the account being nuked or temp ban, 7 days or so.
How can we take Bitcoin Talk back into the Bitcoin community?
(DELETE THE MODS)
Mods are not topics or threads that gets deleted, they're humans.
6060  Other / Meta / Re: Can we have the Forum Rules as a separate sticky in B&H please! on: June 16, 2019, 11:13:04 AM
Whether the rule "posting plagiarised content is not allowed" comes first or last makes no difference in my opinion, when you get into the forum and you get to see the rules, you ought to read it ardently and avidly down to the last one, you're not expected to merely glance through it. So the rule being the last really changes nothing, neither does it make a case for plagiarists, you can as well flash in in their faces and still it'll make no difference.
