biggest mistake was that i thought mtgox/bitcoin was scam and shoved it all into the garbage bin after purchasing 100 btc in june 2011 shortly before bubble burst and my mtgox account got hacked.
in the 2nd half of 2011 i happened to have 30 k € to invest. choosed gold & silver.
so i actually was on track to make a fortune but got discouraged so deeply that i forgot all about this "scam".

i see you reasoning. when bitcoiners travel to another city it would indeed be nice to have locations they can go to and pay with bitcoin. berlin is way ahaed, i admit.
i will bring this up to the frankfurt bitcoin community and maybe we can turn this into a challenge: boost frankfurts bitcoin infrastructure for the 1k bitcoin party...
what is needed ?
-hotels
-taxis
-bars
-restaurants
there will be some kind of admission for the event itself but only to cover costs; everything will be for free at the party.

i recall sam and andreas saying during first "open day", that any testing of actual customers miners will be done straight towards the customers btc adress.
they did let ONE of the miners run. for some peanuts. and the moderator opens a thread yelling "100 % OF THEIR HASHING (power) ...OWN POCKET."
i am only here since march. so still not very experienced. and here i see a hero member, lots of gold wrapped under his name, even a moderator giving one of the best examples of FUD. especially when considering that the immoral tactic op is accusing knc has actually been used by competitors at large.
bfl pockets are deep. hard to imagine that "their" money reaches that far.
