6061  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP. Jr member to a newbie. on: September 29, 2018, 02:00:08 PM
Hello admins,

As you can see my activity is more than 30, which is required for anyone to become a junior member. However, it has become newbie rank. I don’t understand why this has happened. Has the ranking system changed? do I need to appeal for my rank? What do I do?

Kindly, someone help me out with this query. I don’t know what to do.

Thanks.
Yes it changed. Here read it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0 it will help you to understand the new ranking system now.

Thank you very much for this. I didn’t know about this.

Yes, we have new rules on the forum, at least 1 merit to become junior member... So if it's hard for you to get 1 merit, will be impossible for you to become legendary in the long run.

Bring some quality posts and merits will come by themselves.

6063  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: GARDEL YA LO CANTABA - MUNDO DE PORQUERIA - SCAMMER DE PORQUERIA on: September 29, 2018, 01:08:16 PM

6064  Economy / Economics / Re: What can be done to make bitcoin stable? on: September 28, 2018, 08:45:15 PM
I am relatively new with regard to bitcoin but what I have noticed is that a lot of people just invest on it and then cash in when they feel like it is already enough to make a profit. I do not think that this will not be great in the long run because of it being unstable. So what can be done to make it stable?

But why would some one want bitcoin stable? if price don't move then no one will win or lose on the markets, And nothing have a stable price now days, even dollar moves up and down vs other coins.

The only way to make it stable would be freezing time, y can't think other way to do it.
6065  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: busco inversores... ¿es aquí? on: September 28, 2018, 08:39:38 PM
Hola!

6066  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: Stablecoins - monedas de precio fijo 1:1 USD on: September 28, 2018, 01:06:52 PM
Hola,

Just read this article, a nice piece about Bitcoin scams with an example - http://cryptofinance24.com/how-not-to-scam-people-p428-171.htm
The example story about one scam there is just hilarious. The scam is so bad, but people still fall for it  Huh Huh Huh

So, have you ever got scammed, or know some good stories to share with others to help them learn from others mistakes?

I think 60% of the users on this forum has been scammed at least once. I have seen lot of scams in the casino environment, when is about get money people can be really creative.

I have been scammed by users asking for loans and then running away, and i have been scammed by casinos who decide to keep my money and block my withdrawals.

Some years ago the biggest bitcoin scams was based on Ponzi, now days we don't see much ponzi, but we see lot of ICO's ending in scam. So, let's play it smart and be careful.
6068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: transaction problem on: September 28, 2018, 05:52:32 AM
Hello guys, yesterday I sent some ETC from my Polo account to my MEW ETC address which is the first time I use it, and when I check the balance of the address on gastracker.io it shows the balance as if I had received the ETC and it shows the transaction as type IN, it has 4000+ confirmations already but when I check the balance on MEW it shows ZERO BALANCE and zero transactions. If I try to send funds from it it says I cant because there are no funds.

Is it possible that my transaction anyhow got lost ? Ive checked the address a million times and it is correct.

Do I need Eth funds in order to receive Etc???

To verify if your coins was sent then you can use a block explorer for that coin, in ETC case i would recommend you to use https://gastracker.io/

So, go to your polo account, then go to your withdraw history, and there you will have the transaction id from your withdraw. Post that on gastracker and that way yo will be able to verify if polo send you the coins.

If they send it to you but you don't see them on your wallet, then verify the addys, the addy of the withdraw and the addy on your wallet should be the same.

Other way post here the transaction id and we will help you to trace your coins and see what goes wrong.
6069  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: explain the bugs fixed with 0.16.3 version on: September 28, 2018, 05:33:08 AM

Thank you!!
I have some CLAM and I know it is a bitcoin clone, so I'll go to check in order to understand if my funds are safe

It appears Clam's last commit was in January 2017. This was before the vulnerability in Bitcoin Core was introduced. Your coins are safe.

Yep, i ask to the clam community if they where affected to the bug and looks like they doesn't because their cone is based on a old version of bitcoin core,

The explanation from bones was great, i just want to add a couple of points, from what i understand:

1.-This bug could be only exploited by miners, and if they do it, they could lost the $80k reward, so wasn't even a good deal.
2.-The bug allow to create new coins, and this wouldn't be the first time it happens.

I must admit I’m lost with this story. I do not understand if we’re talking about three different people here, or Worzel Gummidge swapping his head around to seem like different people. How that has even got to do anything to do with the topic beats me ... Reputation should be the place in any case.
I owe you this explanation DdmrDdmr, Halana is my exgirlfriend,

But, who is saying that there is merit farming in the Spanish section? You or Hilarious? I just got lost on the quotations.

I have nor perceived any signs of merit trading, that is, trading on low quality posts. Obviously many users merit each other, its a small section.

You are right paxmao, call it a merit mafia was a bit extreme, at end you are great guys on the community, and when i say "you" i mean DdmrDdmr, paxmao and JetCash, this isn't against you, this is about the fact of burn newbies who are searching for a chance to grow on this forum.

So, let's keep walking, already was much drama for one day, i will just get out from your merit talk way and will walk my own way helping the people who need  bitcoin support, that's why i'm here, that's what i enjoy to do, and hope some day we can make some projects together.

And this is for Helana, be free and enjoy the forum, for sure some day you will become a great member who will make great contributions.  Wink

Let's make the love and not the war guys, be nice with new members, show them the way and not blame them, we all deserve a chance and we all start from down. Peace.
6071  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary with Copper Memberships? on: September 27, 2018, 10:45:54 PM
When VIP status was created, the BTC price was about $15. It's supposed to be very expensive. If everyone had VIP status it would lose its meaning.

Then what about the DONATOR status?
We can still have this Rank for the new ones. Besides it's only meaning is whether someone is willing to donate a penny for the forum.
It's not the same as the VIP don't yah think?

I wouldn't say a penny, if you want to have the Donator status you have to donate at least 10 BTC

Quote
If you donate 10 BTC, you can get a special "Donator" title and a green "who's online" color.

So, there is a big difference between 0.002btc (Copper Member) Vs 10btc (Donator Member)

I don't think they bought copper membership after became legendary. Like me, I bought copper membership once I was newbie. But now I am full member, but I really don't like to remove copper membership as well as I paid for it. I can't see anything bad for ware this title.

After become legendary buy copper membership means waste of money.

Yes my friend, i understand those who buy them, and then grow their accounts, so, the tag will still there, but as i say, weird to see people who doesn't need it and they buy it just they think it looks cool (and to be honest it does...), there should be a silver membership and the gold one  Tongue

People now - "No way I'm paying $65,000 for a Donator membership!"

People in 10 years - "No way I'm paying $65,000 for a Copper membership!"

Hahaha, this posts kills me because you are right, those 0.002 btc maybe worth big money in a couple of years and maybe no one will be able to get it like it happen now days with the donator membership.
6074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin [BTC] WORTH $250,000 by 2022, ? on: September 27, 2018, 08:59:35 PM
Bitcoin BTC will be $250,000 by 2022, says Tim Draper
Tim Draper, one of the famous venture capital investor was recently present at an interview conducted by Forbes along with his son Adam Draper.

The interview covered their views on how Bitcoin BTC, cryptocurrency, and blockchain could change the developing world. Both Tim and Adam have been promoting Bitcoin from its early stages. Tim Draper is also the founder of the Draper University and had acquired 40,000 BTC during the silk road collapse in 2014. Adam is the Managing Director at Boost VC which aims at investing in Bitcoin startups.

Both Adam and Tim were asked to state their views on the new cryptocurrencies entering the market. Adam opined that it was amazing to see so many entrepreneurs working towards changing the world with the help of decentralization. According to Tim, it was a mix, some cryptocurrencies could have a profound effect on the government and industries. He added that the rest was just a copy of Bitcoin and had no reason to exist.

The duo was also asked to share their perspective on the existing problems in the blockchain technology platform. Adam spoke about the problem of providing true value to its consumers without any errors and the usability of the products. Tim opined that Blockchain technology was a very creative platform and needed more time to mature. Tim stated that he would want to make all his payments through BTC so that all the accounting could directly be done on the blockchain. He added:

“I look forward to seeing geographic borders dissolve around the world”

Remember to post a source when you bring an article, this time i will do it for you: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/13/tech-investor-tim-draper-predicts-bitcoin-will-reach-250000-by-2022.html

When the source is an important medium as Consumer News and Business Channel it affect direct the bitcoin price, and is important to say, this is a 5 months old news, so, no panic about it. this new comes after the $20k rush, and maybe for this point Mr. Draper already change his prediction.

We know bitcoin will have more bumps in the next years, but not sure if $250k will be a dream or a reality, sound just crazy for me but we learned how everything is possible with bitcoin.

If a legendary member want to make a donation i recommend to use the donation link than to buy a CM.

Hello
I am a student (management and ...)
For my project of end of study I would like to present to even initiate  a digital/local/startup  whose nucleus would be the Block chain.
Idea 1: a system of notatization with backup or not for docsdocs ... With C2C service and B2C/B one even a government to Citizen service...
Idea 2: a "meal voucher" project ... I let you develop because the stakes and constraints seem obvious to me ...
Your comments ?
Any advice for the platform that I have to use? BTC, Eth, Ada and why not XLM ...) Huh

You could easily go only with btc and include other coins by the shapeshift API. would be hard to develop the full engine for each coin, is better if you do it with only one and grab a tool to invoke the other ones.

The project sound nice, i would suggest a bus payment system, that would be a nice tool for the community.

I owe you this explanation DdmrDdmr, Halana is my exgirlfriend, i show her how to use the forum and she used to post with my account, she found it fun, i don't think there would be a problem, but since a couple of months i take care again full of the account, and was fun to see how she get involved with lot of people here, and that's fine, i don't thing you are bad guys, but i don't really know you, and if i edit my reputation history is because i think the reputation should be modified only when there is money involved, idk why halena uses my account to give you a positive trust and since there was not money involved i decide to edit it.

I know i did wrong by share my access with my girlfriend, when we are in love we do stupid things, but now i'm back, i learned the lesson and would like to apologise with all of you, i only explained the situation to JetCash but should talk with lot of you, but i'm not the kind of person who are here for the merits, i just want to share my knowledge with the community now while i made some extra cash with a campaign, and is not a bad deal, i have lot of experience with bitcoin, more than 4 years on this world and already a backend developer for casinos.

So, just want to explain why i give the merit to that user, the user who my exgirlfriend is trying to burn just because he was a newbie, That merit had a high price for me, personal messages from mods and my ex making posts about it, so i decide to make some drama, we know how great is this place for drama  Grin

Sorry for all DdmrDdmr, i think you are a great user who gives a lot to the spanish and english sections, keep up the great work and remember, nothing is personal. Let's keep helping this great community.
6078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the death of Bitcoin also mean the death of cryptomania?? on: September 27, 2018, 04:25:04 PM
No, each type of crypto currency is a separate system that can function independently. Therefore, if bitcoin suddenly disappears, which in itself can not happen, then the crypto currency will continue to exist and will develop further. This is especially true for tokens, which constitute the bulk of the crypto currency. They generally work in the narrow spheres of our life and practically interact weakly with the main crypto-currencies.

Not agree, lets remember how the other coins prices is based on bitcoin, when you join to an exchanger to buy some alts, you see their price in bitcoin, and should be that way because some altcoins like DOGE coin cost only a few satoshis, so, if 0.001 are $7 guess how much is 0.0000001, right, money can't explain that amount, that's why the price is based on bitcoin.

And answering the question, if bitcoin crash and burns in hell, then other coin would be the new bitcoin, if it happen tomorrow, we would see a fight between BCH and ETH to get on top of the market, and other coins would base their price in those coins.

I was the one who give the Merit to that user.
And i would like to explain why i did it because i'm done with the witch hunt.

The user exwifesu77 write me a PM asking for a merit for his publication, I take a look to his publications history and the guy isn't a spammer, is an account's seller, if you see his history he is a natural trader, and his deals doesn't take much words. And who will give you a Merit for sell a twitter account?

But this user is trying to grow up in the forum as any one of us, that's why he decide to make a good quality post, and maybe the biggest error he made was to ask for merits by personal messages, but damn, after read his post i decide to give him a merit, it was a nice market analysis with a comparison with Bitcoin, ETH and Ripple, and i say it was, because the post got deleted. So, the only good post from exwifesu77 get rekt.

You want to know what did i reply to that user to his PM after give him the merit?

I will give a way this merit to you because you earned it, but please don't ask again for merits using PM, not any one on the forum are good person like me, there are lot of haters vs the newbies and you could even get a bad reputation for doing this.

This forum is an hostile environment so, you must be more careful, i wish you success and get far in this madness world

Next morning i wake up with an interrogatory from hilariousandco O.P. Global Moderator, asking why act that way, and my reply was that i'm done with the witch hunting. And here is a copy of the conversation if have with them.

Why are you giving merit to shitposters who beg for it? If you did ten seconds of research you would see that post was copy and pasted.

Because the post wasn't bad. Merits are about good posts if i'm not wrong, lot of shit posters don't have other option than start posting good stuff, and if they are trying to change they deserve a chance. if you don't think users like him deserve a chance then should ban him for spammer.

I'm not sure about all this merits shit, i don't really care much about merits, this is bitcoin talk an no one is talking about bitcoin, is becoming merit talk and that sucks hard, for me those who only talk about merits are the spammers.

Not sure if you realized but a merit mafia is growing on the Spanish section, let me show you an example of a merit farmer:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2359691

That is the same user, she only talk about merit an not about bitcoin, she is getting lot of merits just because becomes friend of JetCash and DdmrDdmr and other merit sources, and i give a merit in past to this person to just because i introduce her to the forum. But honestly i don't understand how a pearson who wasn't ever made a bitcoin transaction can get all those merits in this forum, at end she isn't talking about bitcoin.

So, the question is what's good and what's bad, what's ethic and what doesn't.

I will be more careful while giving merits, never again a merit for a newbie because i will get in trouble as i learned today, i just want to learn more about bitcoin and keep on the developers side.

Thanks for your contact and if you need anything else let me know, I would add a copy from this reply to theymos because i want to share with him my point of view, he must realize how now the forum is more about merits and not about bitcoin.

He was banned for copy and pasting, but I find it weird why you give that user merit yet you leave negative feedback for other people begging for them:

He's begging for merits with two alt accounts, even sending PM to DT's asking for merits.
He's begging for merits with (at least) two alt accounts, also sending PM to DT users begging for merits.

So, NadiaHel or Helana or as you want to call yourself, no one is an angel in this forum, no idea why you are growing those 2 accounts but i could bet they are to farm signature campaigns. So, if you will be on the forum pointing to people and chasing the newbies, then newbies will end hating bitcoin.

We need more people in the bitcoin world, stop burning newbies and show them the right way.

If you don't like how newbies are doing it, then guide them, that's all i want, i put the example with this spammer, the post was good, if it was a copy paste, maybe he should add the source.

So, this is bitcoin talk not merit talk. I care about bitcoin, i care about new users, i care about sharing my knowledge with this community, and let me show you how much i care now about merits.

So, enjoy the merit mafia while i keep guiding people to the knowledge way as you can see in my posts:

I pray for the day when all you talk about bitcoin the same way that you talk about merits  Grin

For starters, update to 0.16.3 and make sure you are fully synced.

Agree with Lauda, first of all update your core to 0.16.3

Now talking about the transaction i try to push it on blockchain.com and it say:

So, this makes me think you have a problem with one input.

Use listunspent to select the inputs you want to use for the transaction, that way you can verify they are valid inputs.
