6081  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Questions on my future bitcoin casino project! on: December 28, 2017, 06:07:06 AM
Seems like you were on-point when you said that you are new to everything.
I just wanted to say, with the level of understanding you have right now (based on your questions' format), keep away from the thought of starting your own casino for now.
Try to understand about a quarter of the required knowledge from every aspect to able to manage a successful project before starting.

3. What kind of domain do i need to buy if I want to put my own script? (I heard there were a couple of different types of scrupts)
A domain is just a name, it doesn't hold the script.
6082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any way to destroy the bitcoin? on: December 28, 2017, 04:13:08 AM
Everything can be destroyed directly or not.
Bitcoin got a lot of endpoints, just like other internet-based programs.
While the security is flawless, there are some world events that can trigger its destruction.

To name a few: (I didn't even need to explain but still debatable)
->World-wide ban to digital currencies.
--->Like oversaturation of illegal activities.
->Another Solar flare like the one 150+years ago.
--->Not the whole world will experience an EMP but the interest will greatly decline depending on where it will directly struck.
->Current developer's death or inactivity.
--->We can't always trust who will take over.
6083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fails on all 6 objective measures on: December 27, 2017, 05:50:37 AM
Bitcoin is community driven - no
The community has clearly been shouting for something to be done in terms of the transaction costs and transaction times, but devs don't care
Yes they care, updates are not that frequent as the "community" wanted.
You don't want to have an update with bugs and exploits don't you?
When you say community, it means everyone including the devs.

Quote from: freightjoe
Bitcoin is for the poor - no
Only the rich are benefitting, with the poor now seeing their money being trapped behind a "wall" of transactions fees in excess of 100$
Nope, the intelligent ones are benefiting. Bitcoin is for all.
Based on your "transaction-based" equity: If you're rich or poor, you have paid 10$ for a 40$ transaction.
Not for the poor? Too much or not that much, you paid the same fee.
You said, bitcoin failed as a currency, then why is it being used as currency by some?
Those problems are conflicting with each other, that's why.

There was no purpose on everything, it just happened to be useful to the observer.
6084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU only coins do they really exist? on: December 27, 2017, 03:26:00 AM
BiblePay (BBP) is a CPU mining only coin! Just launched a few months ago!
I don't know but the name "BiblePay" seems a bit off.
Sure will gather the religious, but will surely piss off most of them (intellectual ones).
Problem is these coins are infested with botnets mining on them making mining not very profitable in most cases. You'll make some coin but not as much as with GPU mining. Viruses and a couple hundred or thousand ARM /x86 processors hashing away easily beats out any single cpu.
This happens quite a lot with profitable coins, even with bitcoin.
The most remarkable one is Monero which has an unaffiliated "anti-advertising" API that was readily available for website developers.
That however became an easy resource for Hackers to exploit background mining.
6085  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Auto Learn Trading on: December 26, 2017, 10:43:52 AM
The secret on successful trading is: Be fulltime on it which could be impossible based on your profession.
Start with no-risk tradings like Bots or go low-risk with Altcoins (DOGE,IOTA,AEON,ETN...) and see if got what it takes.

Because there are factors to consider:
  • You need to monitor the prices 24/7, the values are volatile, especially bitcoin. Believe me, one hour that you missed could be a 100$ worth of profit.
  • It needs a lot of cognitive thinking. Tired from your day routine, your mind was probably a mush right before you log-in to the Trading Market.
  • Some opportunities come at random times. Typos or other human errors.

the mind is more active during the Night when you're not exhausted, at least, in my experience.
6086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Diversify or focus my mining? on: December 26, 2017, 05:09:12 AM
Why don't you try trading too?
With it you can just focus mining your preferred coin, minus the hassle of rummaging through different wallets or accounts.
Your diversified assets will stay in Tradings to make them ready in case of a dip or bubble.

It's best to focus in a single coin too if you're a solo miner, best for you and so much for the blockchain.
6087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Pump & Dump Group on: December 26, 2017, 04:45:50 AM
I don't know why he did use his famous to leverage the market , maybe he earns ton of money for it
Maybe just for the lolz.
You don't know how Social Media is like to those who got nothing to do with their money.
Pump and Dump as a group can manipulate the markets, but with Tweets, there will always be latecomers.
6088  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will either go to $8000 or $20000. on: December 26, 2017, 03:21:26 AM
Yes, it settled at 14k! That's 60% more than the price a month ago.
This is even the bottom of the dip!
Means I am right that when it surge up again, it will more likely to reach more than the 20k highest record.
6089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Demographic of Bit Coin Users on: December 25, 2017, 07:14:53 AM
Not much of an Average Bitcoin user.

1. have no idea what money actually is
1. These are people that were encouraged by their circle of friends or contacts that got wealthy because of holding or trading bitcoin.
Quote
2. have a strong predicament against govermental control in general
2. Just about 10-20% of the users here in bitcointalk, some of "these" people just made an inactive account or guest-reading the forums.
Quote
3. prefer rationalization over reason, i.e. invents reasons for things he wants to be true like "bit coin's intrinsic value lies in the energy needed to mine it" while discarding obvious counter arguments like "the intrinsic value of my shit is the same whether I press hard or not at all"
3. Notice that this kind of posters are just spamming "constructive" posts that they never even think deep enough just for their Signature Campaigns.
Quote
4. Have little to no understanding of what constitutes real economic value
4. Those in the #1 category fall in this as well, they just jump in the train, invested some dollars because of this someone they know.

The community grew about 100% or more since Bitcoin reached 10k$, making the community overshadowed by toxic members.
6090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Price difference between exchanges on: December 25, 2017, 05:19:19 AM
I noticed that Bitfinex is a little bit late and lower when it comes to USD->BTC->Alts than Bittrex.
But when it comes to quick and quickly updated, it has to be coinbase (since there are a lot of users).

Compare the three:
When prices are falling, in coinbase you will quickly experience the rate of fall, might be/but there are limited type of coins to trade.
When the price is stable, again, in coinbase you will see the highest possible prices.
6091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 ETH - should buy alt or hold on to it on: December 24, 2017, 10:17:36 AM
Buy BTC now or join in some legit ICOs.
The current price for BTC is at the bottom (and currently gaining back) and it might reach a higher maximum price than before.
Hold what you can buy then buy-back your ETH when the price grew.
Take Bitcoin's volatility in your favor.

Or Invest in ICO that took your interest.
6092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest Ethereum Wallet To Use? on: December 24, 2017, 05:28:35 AM
As all of the replies, me as well is using a paper wallet made by MyEtherWallet.com
I don't usually HODL Alts but ethereum is an exception.
I'm only using the wallet as receiver of savings and kept the private key offline.
6093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheap, scalable mining rack - Build overview + files for 3d printing on: December 24, 2017, 05:18:02 AM
A cable management system will be a great addition to this.
A clip or something in one edge or holes for the wires would do the trick.

Otherwise, this is a quality work.
6094  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price dropped 25%; Should we be worried? on: December 22, 2017, 05:34:11 AM
I saw the title, then remembered this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2610191.0

Did anyone already received a Tulip?

It's the right opportunity to buy cheap BTC before Lightning Network implementation.
6095  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning Network vs Bitcoin cash on: December 22, 2017, 04:30:56 AM
can we earn for operating payment channels? If they run from inside your wallet as I'm assuming from the word network in the name
Yes, you can.
Like the Bitcoin network, the lightning network will also operate on a model of market-driven transaction fees. However, these are not the same fees paid to miners on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Nodes will charge you to use their channel, and if you run a node, you will receive payments from users using your payment channel.
The fees, however, will not be as much as an on-chain transaction, but much much less.
You can read this article for more info: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-lightning-network-creators-fees-will-be-effectively-zero-1459955513/
So, how will it be faster than the chain if the miners would stay in the main channel because the payment they will receive might be lower?
I'm looking forward to the Lightning Network and I don't want to use Bitcoin Cash just for a faster transactions.
6096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ANYONE USING NORMAL FAN FOR COOLING??? on: December 22, 2017, 04:21:48 AM
When it gets super hot outside I do blow a big fan across my rigs to move the heat away a bit. Works pretty well, IMHO.
This one works.
Me, I'm actually using standard floor fan to help cooling my rig.
But if it's cold in your place, this might not help that much.
6097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining for dummies tutorial?? on: December 22, 2017, 04:19:00 AM
Our Search feature above is enough for a tutorial.
One-time search for "Mining" will give you a handful of topics about it.
Just be cautious on selecting, I will direct you to the right topics if you didn't find any information. (I bet you will)
6098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: POLL: Nicehash resuming operations - are you going back? on: December 21, 2017, 12:36:36 PM
If they are able to refund me, sure I'll have a look again. If the profitability is there I'll give it a shot, as managing my rigs to find the best altcoin to mine does take up loads of time.

Although, mining altcoins right now is very profitable compared to what NH was. So the hack might have been a good thing.
Its only good for you since you've multiple rigs for mining. (you said Rigs, so I assume you have many)
Maybe your share is a lot higher than usual at that time and the pool just got lucky.
Now some Miners are back, I guess it's back to normal.

There's nothing good happened after that hack incident.
6099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: One PCI-E 2x 8 pin to power two 4x 6 pin card? on: December 21, 2017, 03:56:09 AM
Yes you can, just take  note of the wire's color.
yellow: 12v
Black: neutral
It basically reroute the wires of the two six pins into the 8pin connector.
6100  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC gone down today on: December 21, 2017, 03:49:45 AM
Good job coinbase...
I'm seeing this as an opportunity for higher profits.
When the BTC price gone down, people will now start to dump their BCH back to bitcoin.
Equals: Higher Bitcoin price
