6081  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Life is like a pyramid on: September 27, 2018, 01:01:38 PM
Every career or achievement in life has its ladder. A friend once told me that i should not assume i know everything and rush into things, because i see others do it. Crypto is stepwise, start little and gradually move your way up.
Most especially in investing into crypto, starting huge might cost you a big mistake that might be irreparable.
So start out small and work your way up.
What is your opinion?

I wouldn't define life as a pyramid, i would say it's more like a Fortune Wheel, some times we have it all and we are on top, and sometimes we have to start from zero, and that is what make life entertained. Would be boring if it was like a pyramid because ones you reach the last step, then would be a game over.

But yeah, once we start from zero isn't easy to work our way up, is a daily fight until we reach our goals. So let's keep fighting day by day!
6082  Other / Off-topic / Re: What did you want to be when you were a kid? on: September 27, 2018, 12:56:01 PM
When i was a kid, i want to be a secret agent like 007, i created my character and it was better than 007 lol. This character was more a hacker than a action figure. But after that i decide to be astronaut just because was really difficult, after i get my feet's on the flour, i decide to be a lawyer, but i realized in my country laws was so fucked up, so i go for engineering.

And life is fun, you can study something, but that doesn't mean you will work on that.
6083  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit;no longer bitcoin is digital gold on: September 27, 2018, 12:50:47 PM
Prior to the merit system,on all the mega thread sections, you get repetitive threads like "bitcoin is digital gold","is bitcoin really a digital gold","do you see bitcoin being digital gold in the future" Huh Cheesy Grin
Since the new merit system came on board we no longer have such threads, what we get now is multiple merit thread such as "is one merit enough","how to earn one merit","I'm trying to learn to earn a merit"..Lol.. I think merit is now the digital gold in here Grin Grin Grin

Totally agree, merit is the main topic on the forum, looks like no one give a fuck about bitcoin any more, and that's sad. Merits are like the new 'Likes', every one wants them, and bitcoin is there sited in his corner just watching.

Personally i don't like the merit system, maybe is because i get 1000 merits when it start, but i don't like it because i used to be on this forum to learn about bitcoin, and was really useful for that, but now we only see merit talks anywhere, and is fun to see how users who haven't ever made a bitcoin transaction are making tons of merits. At end merits will not give you experience with crypto coins, merits is just a social game to push people to bring their best ideas. And is a good way to filter the spam and get good quality stuff, that will not make us a good bitcoiners.
6084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto ICO's are killing Bitcoin. on: September 27, 2018, 01:24:04 AM
I don't think crypto ICO's are killing bitcoin most of crypt ICO are scams, it makes people think negatively about crypto world

Then if ICO's aren't killing bitcoin at end they are killing his reputation. Is already hard for people to trust in bitcoin, and those ones who start with cryptos joining to an ICO will end hating cryptos after realize it was a scam.

ICO's are just a smart way to get funds for a new coin. Lot of people have great ideas for coins, but not all of them have the capital to launch them. So, ICO's are their opportunity. a small % will success, but the sad reality is most of them will end in scam.
6085  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: CVE-2018-17144 on: September 27, 2018, 01:18:33 AM
Buenas,

6086  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Looking for an analyzer tool for blockchain on: September 26, 2018, 01:21:09 PM
Hello
I just looking for kind of tools, to analyser blockchain on altcoin
Reach list
Coin source, generated date etc
Some statistics about coin circulation
For now I just what to ask: Is there any analyse tool for kind of task?
Or better just download blockchain to some DB and create statistics by myself?

This is not a analyse tool, this is a site with the information you are looking for: https://coinmarketcap.com/

If you try to download all the coins blockchain will take you a long time, let's remember just bitcoin core is bigger than 200Gb, now if you add BCH then you will need 400Gb only for those 2 coins. So not a good option.

If you really want to get a tool for this recommend you to build it by yourself with the coinmarketcap api https://pro.coinmarketcap.com/ as they say

If you can code it by yourself then pay for it  Wink

V1: This version will feature the opening Preface and Financial Markets Chapter Samples. More will be added to the chapters, I am just looking for feedback.

I just take a read to give you some feedback and enjoy that small lecture. At start you say:

Quote
This book won’t make you millions of dollars...

And i'm not agree with that, because each book who introduce you to bitcoin world is a opportunity to become rich  Wink and other think i would like to qote was:

Quote
I want to teach you how to be a winner and make money, but even with my help lots of you will be losers. It is the hard truth I am sorry, but it is true. That’s a painful thing to hear, “there is a chance you will be a loser”

You are talking a little rough to your readers, some people could get offended for that and stop reading in that point, but i know what you mean, i got it because i have experience with trading and some times we make bad decisions. But not sure if that make us losers, rememberer we just lose a fight, but we haven't lose the war.

By the way, i will wait to see your book finished, i want to read it all,for sure you have some great knowledge to share with us.
6088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to survive on: September 25, 2018, 01:49:31 PM
... is it right to do something with your money when you are unstable in emotions?...

That's a hard question, i have been unstable in emotions the past month and use my money to feel better, i bought some new toys like a camara and a audio recorder, at end was wise to do that than spend it on casinos or by investing. But at end that doesn't fix the problem. As we say in my country, money doesn't make you happy, but it helps.

At end my best recommendation is to hold, because if you keep investing and moving that money, with the panic you will end in red numbers and that will make you feel worst.
6089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Satoshi Nakamoto visionless? on: September 25, 2018, 01:42:25 PM
Speed of the transaction in Bitcoin can be enhanced by upgrading. You forgot to mention that you need days if you are going  to transact in a bank for a certain amount and it can even freeze your account.

I know they can freeze my acount and as you say, some transactions take days, but at end the number of transactions they do are massive and not comparable with bitcoin.

...
Yes, for me this is the biggest obstacle for bitcoin to become a global currency, transaction speed.
Unless the blocktime of bitcoin reduced, i think peoples will prefer to use another crypto to pay something faster.

There are two solutiosn, the first one is like you say, blocktime reduction, that would provide more transactions confirmed in the same period of time, the other way is bigger blocks, this way we could have more transactionsin one block. But at end the solution is to mix this two options, bigger and faster blocks, but again, that will end in a huge blockchain and not sure if we want that.

Grin
6091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there's another way to pay in the future? on: September 25, 2018, 01:12:28 PM
Im thinking like an micro chip implanted in our body. This system is not out of the picture because how we discover things every year, it is not impossible that in the future this things may happen and it will boom like btc.

This technology is called NFC (Near field communication) And one company is already using it with their employers, they have a chip in the hand and use it to open doors, pay a coffee and receive their payment. The problem about that technology is the vulnerabilities, some one can easy clone your NFC code just by standing on your side, and some one can charge you a payment just by be in the same room.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKks3vfiy6Q How NFC phones can steal your credit card info.

So, this is part of the future, is the first step, we need to make it more secure and will be the favourite payment method, just because it's easy.

6093  Other / Off-topic / Re: What does a man desire most in a woman? on: September 24, 2018, 03:54:08 PM
Since this section is off topic, I feel this is the right place to ask this question.

1. As a man what's that one thing you desire in a woman that can make you say I do?

2. What's that one thing you hate about women that can make you leave them and walk away?

I need a sincere answers.

1.- What i desire from a woman is to make a team in life, but not to invade her life or use her to complement mine, each one on their way and having some convergence points.

2.- Is hard to hate something about those beauties... but what i hate in my personal experience is when words doesn't fix the problems, and they prefers to walk away.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=777829.0

6095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Best way to create watch only wallet? on: September 24, 2018, 02:51:19 PM
The video you post was about how to create a raw transaction, and that's other topic, after reading your posts i'm not sure what are you trying to do, but it looks like an onchain engine. You need to give more clear ideas about what are you trying.

By the way, if you wan a watch only wallet, you don't need bitcoin core for it, you can use commands like
Code:
curl, wget or lynx
to read the information form the addy direct on the web, that way you can avoid running the full node.
6096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC address given, but BCH funds sent on: September 24, 2018, 02:38:06 PM
Lot of people are having the same problem since BCH comes to life, at end you had the privatekey from the addy, so no problem at all, you only have to import that privatekey to a BCH wallet and you will have access to the money. Now imagine if you get that deposit on a exchanger or a casino, damn, there is where the problems start, could take lot of days for the business to fix it.

That's why we mus be really careful with those transactions, other way we can risk and sometimes lose money.
6097  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Me quisieron estafar estilo blackmirror on: September 24, 2018, 02:32:09 PM

6098  Other / Off-topic / Re: Soon we would not need banks on: September 24, 2018, 02:16:40 PM
How soon is soon?

I'm not agree with this theory, because coin cores doesn't have the power to process the almost 100k transactions/second that banks process now days.

Maybe a small % of people can substitute banks with bitcoin, but at end there is no enough for all.
6099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LIKE IT OR NOT, BITCOIN IS AN INVESTMENT on: September 24, 2018, 02:03:31 PM
                              In an economic sense,
An INVESTMENT is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth.
                                        In finance
An INVESTMENT is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit.

I really don't want to turn these into an economics class but the both definition of what investments are clearly should settle the argument of whether BTC is truly an investment or not.

i'm not agree with you, or at least half agree, it can be an investment if you hold it, but it can be fiat if you use it... If you buy one bitcoin, then join to a casino and multiply it, then cash out from the casino and sell both btc to get the cash, can we call it an investment? i don't think so, because if that's an investment, then go to casino with cash is an investment too.
6100  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why explorers have problems with segwit address? on: September 23, 2018, 11:57:46 PM
As we can see on the next transaction, the segwit address don't have a link or aren't even posted:
~
In theory segwit is compatible with bitcoin core, so, why the exchangers don't give info about them?
you meant to say... "why the explorers don't give..."?
it's because they haven't changed their codes for parsing and processing blockchain data
they extracted then indexed data from blockchain for easy searching and viewing
because they haven't updated their indexing codes they missed indexing bech32 addresses

You are right, i was talking about explorers, not about exchangers.

And thanks to user piotr_n and Theb for the recommendation, looks like btc.com and blockchair.com are the right explorers to go when we are talking about segwit transactions. They give the info i was looking for.
