just dont trust people who arent already readily trusted by the community. turst has to build proper in a trustless community

That's a poor attitude. If you aren't going to give anyone a chance in the first place then they will never be given the chance to show their trust. Just don't deal with people who won't use an escrow. Always use a trusted escrow and you'll be fine.

6142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi Nakamoto Matter? on: October 23, 2017, 10:07:13 AM
Satoshi's reputation does matter. He doesn't have to be involved in Bitcoin anymore, but his reputation can still hurt Bitcoin. We don't know who he is and what he's done in the past. If he's had run ins with the authorities before, then I can guarantee that this would be used against Bitcoin.

Whoever Satoshi is whenever a single entity or a group, he did the right thing by distancing himself from Bitcoin and holding the large amount of coins he does.
6143  Other / Archival / Re: Laptops for trading. on: October 23, 2017, 10:01:48 AM
Hi guys! I am always dreaming of becoming an altcoin trader. There are lot of opportunities in crypro world. May I have a list of laptop you are using for trading? My budget is only for $500 to $600. Any recommendations will be appreciated.  Wink

You don't need a particular powerful computer for trading. If that's your sole purpose you could even do it on a few year old computer. Purchase the laptop which you believe would be useful for other things you plan on doing. Don't base it on trading.
6144  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] What do you think of the forum's usage of reCaptcha? on: October 19, 2017, 06:00:42 PM
Personally, I've only had a problem with these sort of captcha with Tor it doesn't bother me too much having to enable java script. But, using Tor they can become very annoying quickly.

I'm not sure why it's different with Tor, however I've tried for a couple of minutes a few times just to login. I noticed a few times that you'll go through them and you can only click next even though you have followed the directions correctly. Eventually, you'll come to one which you can actually verify. Slight issue with Tor is too many requests, but like you mentioned you just need to change node to solve it.

Even though I have my issues with it, I think it's the best thing around right now and you'll probably have to make a compromise on spam if you were to take a different approach.
6145  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC as a national currency? on: October 17, 2017, 10:35:10 PM
BTC as a National Currency is a very long story, as of now where bitcoins cannot be used like fiat currency , it is mostly used as investment option or just earn bitcoins and convert them to fiat currency and enjoy it. So moreover Bitcoin is a good investment option rather then it becomes a national currency.

That's not strictly true. Not everyone is in it for the investment. There's many of people who do what they can in Bitcoin and then convert their Bitcoin into fiat when they need to pay bills etc.

I don't think Bitcoin will become a national currency per say, at least not for a very long time. It's currently making some waves but, in no way is it currently competing with traditional currencies. Even though it's conversion rate is the biggest it's been. For Bitcoin to become the main stream currency in a country and considered the national currency would require several big movements/organisations/companies to start trading in Bitcoin.

Follow this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

It's probably better to message cyrus (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=78147) rather than theymos.

6148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Jamie Dimon Hurting or Helping Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 10:11:49 PM
He knows exactly what he's doing.

his constant whining makes him look silly.

the only effect i can imagine is some positive attention. the more he complains the more people will be intrigued by what it is he has such a problem with. if it was less than nothing it wouldn't attract any comments.

and if bitcoin can't survive one moody asshole then it has bigger problems.

He's creating exposure to Bitcoin in the short term. People may think of him as some sort of joke now. But, that reputation won't last forever. It wouldn't surprise me if he's using his status for personal gain and will eventually come out and support Bitcoin

He's not having any negative effects on Bitcoin.
6149  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 1 Year in Cryptocurrency still no luck earning bitcoin. Need some real advice. on: October 17, 2017, 10:02:38 PM
How do you earn money in life? Can you expand that to the internet and accept Bitcoin instead of cash? Then that's how your going to earn Bitcoin. Bitcoin isn't any different to traditional currencies in that you have to offer a something, like a service or sell goods to earn.

Ignore all the free Bitcoin faucets as they are worthless.
6150  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best place to buy Crypto in the UK? on: October 17, 2017, 09:57:13 PM
Wherever you go your probably going to go through the same identification issues. Each exchange has to go through this process and will be very flooded at this time. How long have you waited? It's probably going to be at least 24 hours, but could take several days.

Coinbase is also one of the more popular exchanges within the UK.
6151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gonna start trading again next week. on: October 17, 2017, 09:53:00 PM
There isn't a time frame that you'll earn x amount. Depending on how this upcoming hard fork effects the price, you could not make a single penny for months.
6152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Wallet for android cellphone? on: October 17, 2017, 09:43:51 PM
Check out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0#post_mobilea

I would probably recommend against storing alternative coins in the same one as your Bitcoin coins. There's a few people who post here now and again who have sent their Bitcoin rather than x alt coin.
6153  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Market on: October 17, 2017, 09:33:40 PM
There's too many to really list here. But, I advise you taking a look around here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0

Take a look around at the most popular services and read what people are saying. It's also worth checking which exchange is more suitable to your country as there are different rules and regulations for oversea exchanges resulting in more fees. (dependent on where you live)
6154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Talk to me about cold storage please on: October 17, 2017, 09:29:04 PM
Don't be put off by the process. It's probably the best investment of time you can take before even investing in Bitcoin itself.

The wiki will probably have what your looking for and answer some of your questions: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/How_to_set_up_a_secure_offline_savings_wallet
6155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin fees on: October 17, 2017, 09:24:14 PM
I have heard so many opinions about Kraken that I do not know what to think about it myself. How many people have so many opinions. What do you think about this? I'm curious because I've always had it as a good platform, and people say it's getting worse.

There's always going to be people complaining about every service and the negative comments are normally the ones that are heard. You can always check out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=290799.0

That has some up to date discussion on the service.
6156  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: English speaking PR manager wanted! on: October 17, 2017, 09:12:46 PM
Might be worth noting whether this is a permanent job or for a limited period only. Your likely going to need to escrow a set fund if you wish to pay weekly/monthly. It's a difficult job because there aren't too many people who are reviewing services/products or doing regular enough video/blog content to contact.
6157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most common uses of Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 09:05:25 PM
Whatever you can do with a traditional currency can be done with Bitcoin. We are now at the point that there are several companies which offer to purchase an item on any website and you pay via Bitcoin.

It's not currently the most easily accessible, but we are certainly making progress.
6158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think we don't get quality Bitcoin users anymore? on: October 17, 2017, 09:01:33 PM
It's always been like this. However, due to the popularity and exposure Bitcoin gets on a daily basis now, we see more of it. There's a lot more people who are new and will want to ask questions and make themselves known this always happens, it's just more noticeable now that we have many more people who are new.
6159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ? on: October 17, 2017, 08:58:13 PM
Bitcoin is not afraid of government bans. This currency can be used so that the government does not know about it. I think that bitcoin can destroy only some other improved coin

It's only as anonymous as you make it. Just like cash in traditional currencies. Although, the Blockchain is essentially a public ledger which can we tracked and a educated guess could be made regarding certain transactions.

6160  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: October 16, 2017, 04:27:51 PM
There is no dream for getting rich with bitcoin, i have only bad dream why i lost my bitcoin on gamble why not trade it before !

My dream are having a small family with small home, bitcoin is just my another job to make me reach my real dream, from dreaming become a real.

That's more of a life lesson that anything else. Don't gamble what you can't afford. I can understand the appeal of betting in Bitcoin but, take it from me gambling never works. If you use gambling as a way to earn your money you need to be very lucky.
