6161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For just $40k volume, this altcoin pumped its market cap to $300 million? on: November 27, 2019, 08:51:43 AM
Storeum is a scam projects that has plagiarized their whitepaper and also listed false (fake) individuals as their team members, you can read more on this here; Storeum - fake/ai generated team members! The exchange (ExtStock) this project is listed on, isn't to be trusted as well for not carrying out proper investigation on a project before listing. They're exposing their customers to risk of getting scammed and from observation there is manipulation ongoing on that exchange.

Just replied to a related thread on this same issue and from the images below, you can observe from the time frame the price is currently been manipulated
.

Neither the exchange or the project can be trusted. It's in your best of interest, to avoid trading the coin or patronizing the exchange or risk getting scammed. Both representative of the projects (coin & exchange) on the forum has been red tagged and flagged respectively.
6162  Economy / Reputation / Re: "ExtStock" Exchange listing token with Fake team & plagiarized whitepaper. on: November 27, 2019, 08:34:23 AM
Not just that, they're are also involved in faking the price of the token been traded on their exchange. The same coin in question just went up over 300%+ yesterday (all thanks to extstock for their fake volumes) and some milliseconds before writing this post, it was trading at approximately $0.1 (that's around -95% loss but after refreshing coinmarketcap the recent price is $2) all this just points to fake volumes and manipulation from the exchange.

.

Saw you post earlier this morning then later saw this too; For just $40k volume, this altcoin pumped its market cap to $300 million? it's very clear the exchange isn't one to trust, supported your flag and tagging both exchange and project immediately.
6163  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: November 27, 2019, 05:02:36 AM
I'm talking too hard theymos.Sounds bad to me.When I see a merit being sold for 15$.I think those who are doing this are doing a bad job.Whoever does that will have to reap its fruits,I shouldn't think so.Because I respect merit as well as those who give merit for free.I hope you have something to say on this?

This is no news although you're advice to avoid patronizing such act because if caught, you'll lose but your funds (to the merit seller) and probably get demerited (lose your merit). Try carrying out some personal investigate to get the culprits behind the merit selling and report to the forum and they might just get punished, as this act is currently been frowned at.

Merit are might to serve as a motivation to the user been merited, an indication of quality, which is gained and not some privilege you can buy off the internet.
6164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A coin that solves a problem won't die on: November 26, 2019, 03:11:43 PM
Its impossible to have one or two coins in crypto space because one or two coins can't solve all the problems we have in this world in every aspect of technology or others, if you want to keep a coin for a long time make sure the coin or token solves one or two problems in crypto space or the world, this type of coins don't die easily because they have real use cases, its simple as that

On a general note, altcoins aren't bad per se especially when they introduced something different that bitcoin isn't focus on just like the creation of decentralized applications which can be done with the ethereum blockchain. The industry can do without all the project claiming to be solving the border currency issues which bitcoin is already working towards solving. Understandable bitcoin hasn't handle the privacy issue effectively so when coins like Monero pops up, it's quite acceptable as it give bitcoin less responsibilities to handle and focus on just accomplishing the global currency dream.

Your point is exactly why I did this thread; Altcoiners, don't give up yet, Bitcoin can't do it alone. in my opinion for every problem available, supposedly we had just one project focusing on solving that problem then the nuisance of worthless coins all over the industry won't had been the case. Be cautious though as you pick interest to invest in project actually contributing to the industry as those that aren't innovative looses patronizers on the long run especially when new and superior project pick interest in solving that same problem.
6165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How anonymous is BTC/Can they find my name? on: November 26, 2019, 11:24:23 AM
To answer your thread title, unless you have previously linked your name to a bitcoin address like joining a bounty or giveways contest (and in the process linked your BTC address to other personal information like name, social media accounts, resident address etc) no one can link your address to your name. In the scenario of using an exchange address, only those who have access to the database of that exchange either by been workers of the exchange or get their hands on stolen information resulting from a hack, nobody can link the address to your name unless you have done so yourself.

So try confirming from your wife if she has previously linked the address to her name by giving the guy her name. Also the whole situation look suspicious if there a way you can avoid dealing with this individual, you should.
6166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Top 5 Ways to Earn Crypto While You Sleep on: November 26, 2019, 11:07:48 AM
lending? are you seriously? I don't think this is a safety measure. there have been too many great losses from Bitcoinnect and most of the other bad businesses. This is really not a good advice. Instead of having a lot of capital, we should do a mining or staking work. It's one of the most profitable ways out of the way you set.

Bitconnect and her likes were just Ponzi, scams disguise as leading platforms. This isn't what the OP is referring to, read the OP again and you'll understand he isn't asking you to invest in any worthless project advertising themselves as lending coins. Instead, there are platform out there were you can lend out your bitcoin and selective altcoins to loan seekers and in cases of loan default, you get compensated from the site with the collateral deposited by the loan seeker before the transaction was initiated. Before you patronize any of this platform, do some research to make sure you aren't patronizing a scam or shady platform.

You can also successfully used the forum as a host platform to offer this lending service but be cautious of those you deal with and it's preferable to ask for redeemable collateral (minimum 120%) preferable well established cryptocurrency to unattract scammers hoping to leverage on a non collateral loan to scam.
6167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its a gradual process on: November 25, 2019, 09:01:06 PM
Blame the ICO era for introducing impatient gamblers disguise as enthusiast (Investors) and also for introducing worthless project in their numbers been operated by scammers/developers without vision but just chasing the hype associated with the industry. Before the sudden trend of quick money been made from the industry, the early enthusiasts has always believed in the gradual process, that's why bitcoin was able to survive even when it wasn't profitable or can be easily exchange as in recent times.

The industry is now filled with so many distractions and it's disrupting the gradual process as everyone is more concerned about the price than the progress of the technology been developed and rate at which it's been adopted. We speak of the industry been a gradual process yet many of us aren't ready to grow with the industry, the desire to earn quick money is what's killing the industry.
6168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long term hodl ! What a joke on: November 25, 2019, 08:31:48 PM
Hodling has always been the best Investment strategy especially when you hodl for long term. Among all the existing cryptocurrency, bitcoin is the only coin I can bodly advice a cryptocurrency enthusiast to hodl. It has proven time without numbers that it's an asset you can rely on yearly to produce results. If I'm not mistaking, out of the 10 years of its existence only ones has it produce a negative outcome from how the price was at the start of the year. Even in the bear market, bitcoin always finds a way to produce positive outcome supposedly you bought at the beginning of the year and sold at the end, that's a one year hodling period.

Altcoins on the other hand, their hodling positive results aren't gauranted that's why I engaged them via trading for profit. If you aren't skilled and equiped to outsmarting the market it's in your best interest to avoid trying to do what the OP has just suggested, it'll definitely end badly.
6169  Other / Meta / Re: How to earn merit in 4 EASY steps! on: November 25, 2019, 07:49:18 AM
No! This is how it should be:

OR
  • 1. Create meaningless merit statistic threads
  • 2. Keep it updated in the best way you can therefore bumping and always making the thread visible
  • 3. Concentrate on engaging in conversation in the meta board to portray yourself as a quality contributor.
  • 4. Keep calm & wait, then profit

Before now, create threads on complimenting the system or complain and your post history will be reviewed probably earning you some merit (if only you got some decent post). Enjoy 😁.
6170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Mobile Mining exists at all? on: November 24, 2019, 07:00:08 PM
Not a fan of mobile mining per se so I don't buy into the idea of any project adverting themselves as a mobile mining project. The thought of it alone is discouraging since I don't like over stressing my device especially when it has to do with things such device weren't built for. Commented on similar thread sometime back and just as I said then, supposedly the mobile manufacturing companies that have interest in cryptocurrency decides to work on producing a smartphone that can restand the workload of mobile mining then I might just pick interest in the concept.

The popular project I have encountered selling themselves as been associated with mobile mining aren't actually what they claim to be. The like of phoneum and electroneum aren't been mined on mobile per se.
6171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think crypto world needs... on: November 24, 2019, 02:36:57 PM
In my opinion there is no real platform/website that offers everything you need. For example, news, some kind of trading tools or indicators, educational program maybe hot articles etc...

Isn't the forum a perfect example of such a platform that offers all you're referring to. Though some might not be a regular occurrence but if you're interested and create a thread within minutes you'll get response from someone providing you with the needed information. For the news, we have the press board and unofficially the bitcoin, altcoin discussion board also pay host to those kind of discussion.

Media platforms aren't what the industry will need at the moment, we already have enough and they're easily manipulated since monetary gains are usually their motivation. We need something that'll take the industry to the next level resulting to more adoption and everyday usage. Something like taking the information to the everyday user out there like an educational quest.
6172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Altcoin, New Projects Relationship on: November 24, 2019, 02:22:41 PM
Most of the speculators before and even now are saying that if Bitcoin goes up, then altcoins goes up as well and good projects perform well. How true are these speculations if there are different technologies or plans for each cryptocurrency? And the fact that bitcoin is not even the first cryptocurrency.

How true it's can be observed from previous price movement of the market, altcoins tend to follow-up the full steps of bitcoin as it dictate the movement of the market. You might want to argue with the current observation from the market as bitcoin recently tends to noon without carrying the altcoins with it but if you pay close attention you'll observe few selective altcoins are adding price value each time bitcoin price increase (Litecoin is a perfect example).

The phrase doesn't have to reflect all the altcoin everytime but it's a ptoven fact that bitcoin controls the market most especial as altcoins are traded with BTC pairs and it's dominating the market. This is an emotion driven market so a decline in price of the most trusted asset has to reflect on the inferiors. Bitcoin is also the first, decentralized cryptocurrency others before it were centralized digital currency.
6173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality of some Deflation tokens on: November 24, 2019, 01:10:02 PM
Speculative project does no good to the industry, we need project that solves real life problem that's projects with real product just as you have stated. The idea that the industry is a free market is the reason we're seeing concept like this pop up every now and then. Supposedly this concept are been merged with projects with real product and not just those profiting from hype and promise that the price will continue increasing then the idea would had been a wonderful one.

Currently other projects are burning their tokens occasionally to reduce supply and increase demand. This strategy is similar to that of the deflation tokens but the deference is in the quality of the project and their contributions to the industry. Don't invest mere on the fact the supply of a token will keep on decreasing technically meaning the price will keep increasing, without demand the project is as good as dead.
6174  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forum is 10 years old! on: November 23, 2019, 08:30:37 PM
Although I knew yesterday was the anniversary and i also saw this thread back then I didn't comment. I decided to use the opportunity to do some thinking then probably come over to drop a comment once I'm done. First question I asked myself was, if I was at the very beginning of the forum would I have been actively participating on the forum for the 10 years it has lasted. The answer to that question can as a challenge as I have decided to use this post I'm writing as a reference for when we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the forum.

Also asked myself few other personally questions and probably I'll also get the answers in the next 10 years. The forum in general has affected my life positively, as it has motivated me to believe more in myself, thought me alot and to do more of things I love. I celebrate the forum and every single individual that have contributed to the success of the forum. Thank you theymos, staffs, moderators, scam/spam busters, merit sources, reputed campaign managers and every single forum user that had and have the forum interest at heart. The celebration isn't just of the forum but for everyone. Happy 10th anniversary Bitcointalk, wish you many more years and success.
6175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Listed exchange matters on: November 23, 2019, 08:07:18 PM
The exchange does matter but not as much as the quality of the project itself unless your intentions involves you quickly cashing out your bounty rewards. Supposedly you promoted a project that unknowingly to you was a shit projects and it gets listed on big exchange, the growth won't surpass first few months of been listed as such projects (coins) would be dump immediately it's secret gets uncovered.

On the other hand, if the project get listed on a less popular exchanges at first, that doesn't mean the project is dead considering the quality of the project is above the averages out there. Therefore, In as much as the exchange is important, the quality of the project also has to be put into consideration.
6176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 23, 2019, 01:41:11 PM
I am sure the first debut victory for Mourinho at Tottenham has now led 2 goal for Spurs with this victory. Spurs found the best coach.
This win will be above 2 goals.

Imho, He's not the best Coach and that'd be come evident has the season unfolds.

Mourinho's talent is great no doubt, but there numerous manager I would rather have in club ahead of him, Poch included.

Best when he's playing with the right players and been given freedom to spend during the transfer window and always given freedom to bring in the players that suit his style of play. Pochettino was a good coach but I won't compare him to Mourinho as even when Mourinho isn't performing at his best, he still manages to win trophies. History doesn't care how the teams preformed, only the winners (goals, trophies) count.

If Pochettino couldn't win tottenham trophies in the last four years irrespective of them playing impressively to the extent of securing champion league football all through the years, what's the essence of retaining him when he can't win them trophies?.
6177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 22, 2019, 04:35:38 PM
So anyone willing to risk it with me by picking Chelsea as the winners in regards to their match against Manchester city.

Well, my friend, if you'd seen my picks, then you know I'm always playing with my heart and not my brain.
<***>
How do you feel about Mou?Wink

For the past few weeks, I haven't been locking my pick so I can't see others. But I just have to ask, how have your heart been performing so far in regards to giving you results for the pool? Thinking of returning to following my heart and not basing my prediction on previous records. The last two times I followed my heart, it give me the cap twice lol. Been over cautious lately is just costly me points. That's why I'm sticking to my pick.

For the MOU match, initially I went for a draw but after picking other outcomes for the rest matches I noticed, i got so many draw matches then retured to give Sheffield United the advantage since I was debating between a win or draw in that game. But if your mou meant Mourinho, he's definitely what Tottenham needs right now because they need trophies and Pochettino wasn't delivery in that aspect. He blew the only chance they had against liverpool (champions league finals).
6178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 22, 2019, 10:36:55 AM
So anyone willing to risk it with me by picking Chelsea as the winners in regards to their match against Manchester city. Supposedly it was last season, i won't have had the courage to do this but this season, Manchester city are under performing (already lost three games in just 12 games played) meanwhile Lampard is performing above expectation. Currently Chelsea are the only team in the league with 5 straight wins in the last 5 games.

The odds are against Chelsea but it isn't an impossible task to achieve. We aren't going to Etihad to defend but to attack. Defending hasn't been our straight this season so the best chance we have is by scoring as much goals as possible them to try to defend the goals. In my opinion, this match would be full of goals atleast 5 goals. Prediction: Chelsea 3:2 Manchester city.
6179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Introduction to Crypto Youtube Channel :D on: November 22, 2019, 04:25:17 AM
The real ETH is ETHC . ETH just become a big name because a Company pushed it hard .

Thanks for this information, I never knew. I didn't have much interest in ethereum back then when i joined the industry to research on it but always assumed ethereum classic was a hard fork of ethereum consider other hard fork alway had additional name added to the parent name like bitcoin cash and the rest. And the hard forks hardly get any recognition to the exact of dominating the parent chain. Judging from the outcome of ethereum so far, was it the right decision back then as i got to understand from the link you shared that
Ethereum was first created as a stance against financial corruption. The immutable blockchain was meant to be free from the human tendency to corrupt.

But, the decision to hard-fork – and essentially manipulate of the blockchain – went against the original purpose of Ethereum in the first place.
always thought ETC was the bad guy lol.

Supposedly I was quizzed for this, i would had failed woofely, surprisingly I haven't encounter this information before and that's the beauty of this forum, giving out informative, priceless information like this.

To OP, just skimmed through the video and I'm impressed by your effort, when I'm less busy I'll watch. Good job, hope to see more videos don't just stop.
6180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Send More Fraudlent Developers to Jail and I still Sanity Into Crypto on: November 22, 2019, 03:48:43 AM
Has sending more criminals to jail stop the occurrence of crime in the society, new way will just be developed by this scammers and the continuity of the scams will continue probably leading to more project developers, hiding their identify becomes a more occurring situation, disguising themselves under the anonymousity crab. The issue in the community isn't about the scamners but the vulnerability of the investors. Spending more time creating awareness to this users on how this scams can be spotted and avoided will do more good then chasing after the scammers.

Those with good lawyers or identify aren't yet public could easily escape this jail terms but when the Investor get educated, less and less success stories for this scammers will be recorded and it'll make the industry less attractive to scammers, reducing scams in generally.
