Just to see if people are interested in this I set up a site where one can buy Genuine Robot Chicken Hats for the game Team Fortress 2 (on Steam).

http://itsmods.com/adultswim/

The site should be self-explanatory, but if you have questions, feel free to ask me more!
Also if this gets popular I might add many, many, many more items (I have a few 1000-slot backpacks filled with all kinds of random stuff).

The block are processing fine, it's just that pending bids are not showing on the page right now.

The blocks need to count down to 0 before entering "block run" (3 empty blocks before a winner is declared).

I am sorry, I thought it entered "block run mode" as soon as it just needed 3 more blocks.
627  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockRun.com - Penny auctions on the blockchain on: May 26, 2013, 02:40:09 PM
displaying pending (unconfirmed) bids on the page.

Seems like confirmed bids as well.

Also the auction did not go into "Block Run" Mode.

So you say that whenever I send you something you immediately return twice the amount?
Seems legit.

So now we wait for 3 confirmations on bets to give the winnings.

Okay, makes sense, but I saw you also denied at least 2 transactions that are actually confirmed:

https://blockchain.info/tx/9a174f5d3bae4982a52d8672ab90f9f0749cd60b18a41655732488f4f88b46f4

Or am I missing something here?

EDIT: Also five times in a row I had the problem that the price was high for a long time so I send money to 15 min down. The next transaction is about 30 seconds later with someone dumping a lot of BTC -> That is the price the system takes. Suddenly I apparently bet on 15 min down with a starting price of 130USD (instead of 135.9) (this is an example) after which the price immediately goes up again.

So could you please take the price at the moment the money actually came in? And the same for determining the end-price: the price it was actually at the moment it passed and not the first price after it ends.

Because this is really starting to piss me off.

Are the times on the webpage my local time?

No, they are the servers time and the servers time is about 1.5 minutes off compared to the real time I think.

Also I noticed a few bets were denied by you? What happened there?

today is the first day we've netted a profit

Congratulations!

635  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: May 25, 2013, 11:17:15 AM
The screenshot of death of the nile, tbh I feel that's kind of far fetched. I am way more hesitant to play again now.

I think you might get more bets in, if you make it a little easier. The pics will get solved faster yes, but the avg bets per picture will probably go up.

I suggest saying clearly what "category" it is. Not movie/plant/object/.. (which is basically the same as saying "hintless"). Also, why no color pictures?

I completely agree.

Also about the user submitted pictures: moderate the entries and check if the answers could be correct.
EDIT: nvm, would still be abused by people betting on their own picture.

Your calculation is not 100% correct: http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2005/02/sha1_broken.html

But even with using these failures I doubt it will be possible to crack this within 24h-1second on a normal home PC.
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Raw transactions on: May 24, 2013, 09:36:13 PM
Thank you. I managed to send my own custom transactions and I knew about the money not being merged as I receive it.
But I thought I had something wrong since Bitcoin-QT used completely random return addresses for me but you explained that one pretty well. Thanks again.

EDIT: Yes, it's quite easy. Combined multiple inputs with multiple outputs without a problem.
638  Other / Beginners & Help / Raw transactions on: May 24, 2013, 06:24:04 PM
I was looking into the createrawtransaction API with the help of some transactions done with the Bitcoin-QT client and I do not fully understand everything.

1. There is a vout parameter for the transactions. What do I have to set this value to?
2. How can I specify the transaction fee? Or do I just give inputs to cover all outputs + 0.005BTC which are not present in the outputs?
3. https://blockchain.info/address/19SxkCSLKKpyqrQZ4BAFbQVCGiVBVPDYWL
That address is mine, apparently, but it is not specified in the Bitcoin-QT client. But somehow it seems that whenever I send a transaction, the official client sends the remainder of input(s) to a new address (which I do not have in the list) and somehow does not lose track of it's public and private key. How/Why does this work/happen?

(tried to look on the wiki of bitcoin.it for this but it's not really helpful)

EDIT: found this, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101525.0 At least that answers the fee question.
EDIT2: By trying I noticed the vout is the n parameter from the input transaction (which was an output).

Still wondering about number 3.
639  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you consider a reasonable fee on your winnings? on: May 24, 2013, 05:58:24 PM
1% seems fine to me. Still less than... any "casino" using FIAT money
640  Economy / Gambling / Re: BTCOracle : Bet on the future price of bitcoin ! on: May 24, 2013, 04:10:43 PM
Added 2 new time frames : 15 minutes and 1 day

Thanks, tried the 15 minute address Cheesy

Feature request: show the servertime on the page or put a countdown in seconds next to every bet.

EDIT: And the payout came in. Nice service. Very fast.
